There’s been more than a few movies surrounding a character down on their luck trying to punch, kick, jab, grapple, or all of the above, their way to success or back to success. Think “Rocky”, “Million Dollar Baby”, “Warrior”, etc. In 2026 we get a new entry into that movie genre, “Beast”, that revolves around MMA fighting. Oscar winner Russell Crowe plays Sammy, a MMA trainer and Daniel McPherson plays Patton James, a former MMA champion, who Sammy once trained. Patton had it all right in front of him after becoming champion and in one instant he threw it all away. Now years later, retired as a fighter and nearly broke, Patton’s younger brother is trying to be a MMA champion and is brutalized in a fight by another fighter, Xavier Grau, who Patton knocked out years ago. This draws Patton, and his wife and daughter, into a web of danger with Xavier, Xavier’s promoter and some local thugs. Will Patton be able to fight his way out of this one? Will Sammy help him after Patton betrayed him? Is it worth going to the theater to find out? Watch this episode of Movies Merica to find out! “Beast” also stars Luke Hemsworth, Bren Foster, Kelly Gale, Mojean Aria, George Burgess, Nathan Phillips, Sol Nc Carrico, Saphira Moran and Amy Shark.

Welcome to Movies America Arena Fight fans, or just those that love a good action thriller movie. Boy, are you all in for a treat today? We have in one corner, wearing the purple trunks, the unstoppable object of movies, and in the yellow trunks in the other corner, we have the immovable force Merica. You bought the seat, but you'll never use it because you'll be standing, jumping, and cheering as we review the new MMA action thriller movie Feast in the Octagon today on Movies Merica Live. All right, hey everybody. Welcome to this latest episode of Movies America Live here on this Sunday. And as always, I'm your humble host, Van Eberts, aka Movies America. And don't worry, everybody, this is a spoiler-free episode, okay, as we talk about uh beasts here on this episode of Movies America Live here, uh the new Russell Crowe, Daniel McPherson action thriller uh movie, okay? And real quick, I just want to welcome my movie maniacs and my fellow freedom-fueled film fanatics out there who are just as nerdy as me when it comes to movies. You have come to the right place, uh my chemosabis, my friends, okay? Because yes, if you are one of those people that are so nerdy about movies that you just can't stop talking about a good movie after you see it, to the point where your wife or your husband's like, shut up! It was just a movie, all right? Shut up. I'm sick of hearing about it, all right? We just order something off the menu, my God, okay? If you're that person where you just drive people nuts because yeah, you just want to have like a three-hour commentary, a three-hour convo about a movie. Well, welcome to uh your home. Welcome to your Oasis movies, America Live. And the way that you can talk about this movie, Ad Nauseum, if you want to, is because this is live. We do have live chat, okay? So during this show here, go ahead and jump in the live chat on Rumble or YouTube. Uh it's just a matter of hitting a button down there that says chat or live chat, and get in there and uh yeah, chat to your heart's content. I will check out the chat and I will answer any questions, comment on any comments you have, whatever, all about beast, or uh to be honest, about whatever you live chat about. I can't stop you from live chatting about what you want. But uh anyway, enough about that right there. You guys have come here to hear about the beast, to feast on some beast over here, right? And uh yes, this is directed by Tyler Atkins, who is not exactly a household name when it comes to directors, right? He's not uh Christopher Nolan, he's not Steven Spielberg, uh, he's not Denise Villeneuve or anybody like that, Quentin Tarantino. Okay. He is, and that's there's a reason because uh this is his second movie ever, excuse me, that he has ever directed right there. So yeah, he is not quite up there with those legends behind the camera quite yet here, but I'd say based on this movie, um, I haven't seen his uh his previous movie called like Ocean Boy or whatever it's called. Uh I haven't seen that one, but off this movie here, uh I'm liking what he's uh what he's putting down here. And again, like I said before, this uh well, I was about to say stars Russell Crowe, but that's kind of a stretch here, and you'll you'll see what I mean here as I go into that a little bit further into the episode here. But it definitely stars Daniel McPherson, who I had I'm I wasn't familiar with. It turns out I've seen him in movies and I just didn't know who he was. Uh that he's we've got the one of the one of the Hemsworth boys. No, not Chris, not Liam, but Luke Hemsworth, probably the lowest profile Hemsworth brother out there. And then we have Kelly Gale, and she plays uh the main character's wife. Uh so Patton James, played by Daniel McPherson. He's the he's the most, he's like the star of the show. He's the main character, and Kelly Gale plays his wife right there. So, but uh let's do this here real quick, and just so you can familiarize yourself with this movie a little bit more than me just me just yapping about it. Here's uh here's the trailer right here, so we can get you in some uh we can get you into beast mode. Why do we try and stop hot?

SPEAKER_02

So I can breathe. Why do you need to breathe? So I can think why if I can breathe, I can think. If I can think if I can think that's the white voice. You are one of the greatest MMA middleweight of all time. Your brother has to debast the pay attention. Six months. Yeah, seven weeks. It's been a while. No urgency. That's gonna help your ass out. Every day, no excuses. That's you, and that's me.

SPEAKER_03

It's all about redentity.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so let's do this here real quick and get into some more beast over here. But let me do this here. I'm just gonna grab a uh drink off my brewski over here. And this is just to remind you. Well, well, it's not just to remind you, it's because I'm thirsty. But also, it happens to also remind you that uh, yeah, if you're whatever you're drinking here, if uh you got a brewski, you got a vino, you got a cocktail, uh, maybe you're just drinking a sprite or uh, you know, you're drinking a drinking water, whatever, okay? Hey man, uh kick back and relax, because this is a show to do that on, okay? This is a it's still technically the weekend, and at least as of like when I'm live recording this, and uh yeah, relax, kick back and all that stuff. You God knows I am, real quick. So, and uh here's proof of that. All right, excellent, excellent, excellent. Okay. So we have more beasts to get into. And so Russell Crow is the biggest selling point they have for this movie. I mean, I I mean he I mean he cemented his you know legendary status here with the movie Gladiator, which is God almost almost 26 years ago uh that movie came out there, which is like w time flies, right? I mean I remember in 2000, summer 2000, and boy, what a s what a summer season of movies that was, you know, Gladiator and Mission Impossible 2 and many, many others. And uh, you know, I mean I remember that was like the big new release, you know, obviously for the weekend that it first came out there, and just the buzz for Gladiator was so huge, just the critics were praising it, and and then like, you know, people that I knew that had happened to see it before I did, uh, they were like just imploring me, okay, and that was before I was a movie critic, uh, imploring me, man, you gotta go see this movie, man. I I I want to I want to talk, I want to have somebody to talk to about this movie here, because this movie kicks total ass. This is this gladiator movie, man. Man, what what a what a spectacle, you know, and it's it's awesome and it's epic and all of that. And you know, then him winning an Oscar, you know, for it, and and having a career that he had after that, you know, where he basically was a household name. And, you know, every filmmaker wanted Russell Crow for every project that was out there, okay? Um, I'm sure that you know he had a stack of scripts this high, you know, uh probably several stacks of scripts that high there in his uh agent's office right there. But uh so you know that makes it to the point that brings it to the point where even 26 years later, he could still be the selling point uh for a movie here. And so that's so Russell again, Russell Crowe's the biggest selling point for this movie. The second selling point for the movie being that it involves MMA, which is a worldwide draw all of its own, right? Okay. And, you know, don't but one word of caution here, and I kind of teased this a little bit before, is don't look for this to be a movie where Crow is in every scene or anything close to that, okay? He's more of a supporting character, co-writer, and executive producer, the money mostly, on Beast. He's not a Maximus or you know, Dr. John Nash from The Beautiful Mind or A Beautiful Mind mode here, you know, where he's carrying the movie or anything like that. He's not, you know, yeah, it's not uh, you know, uh what is that, Master and Commander or anything like that. So and that and that's pretty much where Crow is at in his career now, you know, playing supporting, but but mostly memorable characters. I mean, look no further than you know, some movies that I reviewed before, like Nuremberg. I just reviewed that not too long ago. Uh again, Nuremberg, and then Land of Bad there. I think I reviewed that a couple years ago there. And uh Land of Bad, that movie, that Land of Bad, that that movie also shares a writer with this movie here. Uh and then uh and then Crow co-wrote this movie along with that guy. And Crow, I mean he is just magnetic in all those movies there, and both those movies. You still see a little bit of that 1990s, 2000s Russell Crowe, you know, in these performances. You just kind of see that in in in the eyes. And uh, you know, he always he's got his acting style always, he just has that unique, distinct thing that just so many actors find it impossible to replicate because I don't think they really dig deep into their into their parts as much as Russell Crowe. Russell Crowe is just not afraid to just give us all in in these performances. And so you always see something with Russell Crowe, we're like, okay, yeah, that that that that's Russell Crowe, and that's why Russell Crowe is Russell Crowe right there. Just that little that little idiosyncrasy, that little thing that he just did in that performance uh right there. Now, let's talk about the fighting, of course, in Beast. Now, the fighting was choreographed by Bren Foster, who plays the main baddie, Xavier Grow, who you you saw tanting or tanting, you saw taunting Patton in the trailer there. And Brent Foster, he is a taekwondo and karate world champion, and he holds black belts and five martial arts disciplines. He's got a seventh degree black belt in taekwondo, a second degree in Brazilian jujitsu, and a first degree black belt in Hopkido, uh Haidongundo, which is Korean sword fighting, and uh war this is the hardest one to say, or whatever. Well, I'm just gonna I'm just gonna go guondo. There we go. So call it gondo, there we go. Um, which is basically another Korean martial arts forum there. And the fighting choreography, it's so visceral, it's so brutal, and without that annoying shaky cram shaky cam crap, say that ten times real fast. Without that annoying shaky cam crap that we saw in the Born and Taken movies there. Mostly we saw it in the Taken movies because nobody on you know in that movie knows how to fight for real. It's this old ass Liam Neeson, uh, you know, uh fighting, but he doesn't really didn't really do the due diligence of learning how to fight, like say, you know, Keanu Reeves in the John Wick movies or Daniel McPherson uh here in this movie right there. And Bran Foster made sure, made sure that when he kicks someone in this movie, it looks and sounds super cool, okay? And it does. Uh it's it's undeniable. It's a very super cool sound and and look when he kicks somebody right there. You're like, oh my god. So he kicked him through a wall, right? And in a way, I guess, you know, that's just perks of being the guy running the fight show right there, okay? Hey, you uh you run, you run, you know, you run uh the fight show on that, uh, you know, hey, uh you wear the crown, you get to call some shots with that. But uh, and and the fighting reminds me of, you know, it does remind me of the aforementioned John Wick movies, and then like uh the movie Monkey Man that came out with last year or the year before. Uh the fighting reminds me of that too, where yeah, it's just visceral and brutal and in your face, and and doesn't they don't try to stylize it or anything like that. It just they just let them go, man. They just let the fighters go and do their thing. So that is what they do up in this movie, cold beast, okay? And again, this is the movie Beast from 2026, not that lame ass beast movie from 2022 with the lions, where the characters in the movies were even dumber than the lions. Okay. That's pretty bad. Pretty bad where I'm watching this movie about man eating lions and man trying to survive against them, and I'm rooting for the lions. Yeah, yeah. That that tells you something about that movie Beast from 2022 right there. Okay. But uh, you know what? Uh, it's time uh to go from the beast or beast to a little brew. And that means that it's time for me to cue up this segment I like to call brew review time. All right, let's get ready for this brew review time by me introducing you to the lovely brew for today, right there. Let's make sure we got that all looking good up there. There we go, like that right there. And as you see, we've got uh some easy eddy here. Uh easy eddy imperial IPA, I should say, uh, from a brewery called Big Grove Brewery that is in the Hawkeye State, also known as Iowa, okay? And uh this is the uh sorry, this is the Royal Eddie, not the Easy Eddie. There you go. I say easy Eddie because that's like the most prominent, uh the most ubiquitous uh version of the Eddie line of brews here, because uh there is so Royal Eddie and Easy Eddie are not the only Eddies, uh Eddie beers here from Big Grove Brewery. Uh there's also like a triple Eddie uh there as well, and we got a big Edd. That's another uh version of the Eddie beers here from Big Grove Brewery here. And Big Grove Brewery actually used to be like this little bitty brewery, this little bitty building uh in this little small town called Solon. And now it's actually branched out. I mean, it's a picture, it's a story of success, uh, where it's branched out to like uh I don't know, a big town, a bigger town in Iowa called Cedar Rapids. And I think there's one down in Iowa City to uh home of the Iowa Hawkey's uh there. So it's just a yeah, I guess they just you know they they do make good beer, uh their food's eye, you know, so they have just uh yeah, they've found success here. So so good for them right there. And uh yeah, so then we've also got uh, you know, like a like the triple version of what you're looking at here. The triple version of the easy eddy would be called triple Eddie here. And so with this Royal Eddie right here, the premium Royal Eddie, uh, it features dominant tropical fruit notes and you know, like pineapple and mango uh with a soft, low bitterness. And it's definitely got that juicy, juicy finish uh there. So very refreshing because of that. And as you can tell from that last comment, I am uh I'm recommending uh this Royal Eddie. I mean, how can I turn down royalty for God's sakes? I mean, this this beer's got a crown on it, for God's sakes, right here. This this beer sits around a round table and lives in a castle. It's Royal Eddie, okay? And also, not that you can tell from me holding up a can, but the appearance of this beer has like a like a brilliant golden haze. So if I had a pint glass to pour this in, uh, you'd see that there. And as far as the hops used in this, it's uh double dry hop with a combination of citra, mosaic, and simco hops. And uh, this beer comes to us with an alcohol by volume percentage of six and an IBU rating of 35. IBU means uh international bitterness units there. So it's got a little bit of bit, not a little bit of bitterness, it's got bitterness, it's got a bitter flavor to it, but that's just the properties of an IPA, right? Uh it's very hopy. And so obviously the more hops you have in your beer, you know, the bitter the taste. But bitter in a good way, okay? Um and uh so yeah, you're gonna be able to find this. Like, say if you live in Iowa, you're gonna be able to find this beer all over the place right there. Um a little bit about the nose here. Let me uh get a whiff of this here. Yeah, so it's definitely ooh, yeah, pineapple. And then you get like that kind of um uh that sweet mango uh scent in there as well. Yeah, it's a very nice, yeah, I'm yeah, it's a very, very, uh, you know, it's uh a pleasant smell, a pleasant scent, pleasant nose to that beer right there. And now I also do like to let you guys know, like what kind of foods would this beer pair well with as part of my you know brew review here. And so we've got you know, this particular uh like I think like pretty much all the Eddies, easy Eddie, Royal Eddie, Triple Eddie, Big Ed, I think all of them, since they're you know, they're all part of the same family, they're all gonna pair well with the same kind of foods, you know, salty, fatty, or spicy foods there, um, you know, because you know it's got the high carbonation and the and the moderate bitterness. So it's kind of cuts through there as a palate cleanser for those. And uh so like some spicy cuisines, gonna be like Thai and Indian, you know, curries, you know, food involving those curries, spicy wings, you know, tacos, you know, with you know, drowned in hot sauce or something like that. So uh, you know, fried chicken, crispy onion rings, all of that stuff. I really gotta stop saying food here because uh yeah, I'm getting really thorough, really hungry here. Uh, or like rich bar food, you know, your your brew pub uh you know, fare, like you know, big juicy burgers, uh, you know, with blue cheese. I'm shaking my head because I hate blue cheese. Uh, you know, bacon, uh, or grilled barbecue ribs, you know, all of that stuff right there. Now, if you're a seafood fan, which I happen to be, uh, you know, you can try lobster rolls with this, shrimp scampi, uh, ceviche, or the shrimp scampi with fresh ceviche. You don't eat ceviche by itself and all that stuff. But and you know, if you're a big cheese fan, you know, you can go look for some English cheddar, like sharp English cheddar or creamy rich birata and brie there. You know, if you're feeling very sh fancy and you want some brewerie, uh, all that stuff, right? But I think that gives you more than a few examples of some foods that pair well with these Eddie, with this eddy line of beers right here. So, but uh enough of me just talking about this brew here. Let me grab a grab a switch. Off this bad boy. Ah, good. There we go. Yeah, that's a pleasure to down that right there or to drink that. Because yeah, I'm digging the taste. I like that taste right there. I mean, that if you are ever in the mood to kind of like uh be a little bit more adventurous, you know, with your beer here, and you want to, you know, you know, drink something, you know, a little bit, you know, well, not a little bit, a lot more exciting than a you know, Bud Light, like, you know, that kind of tranny fluid or coors light or you know, uh something else like that, Bushlight. You want to, if you feel like if you want to kind of like, you know, uh be a little bit more adventurous, and it goes for this goes for the guys and the gals, and you want to try, you know, some uh some uh I don't know, some ex I guess exotic beer as opposed to you know those uh you know ubiquitous domestics there, then yeah, I mean go with uh like a Royal Eddie, an easy Eddie, a triple Eddie, something like that. So, or you know, if you can't get those in your area, I mean just you know, Google um, you know, like the best uh you know, you know, IPAs, you know, that are available in your area, like just from some craft brewers or something like that. So just something that you know is off the beaten path right there. But and uh now, just so I'm not hogging all of this royal eddy for myself here, uh, let me give you some ideas as far as or some you know, ways you can get your hands on this brew. And uh some ways you can do that is like so obviously, you know, I was gonna say, if you have a smartphone, who the hell doesn't have a smartphone? So let me rephrase. So on your smartphone, you can uh go to go to go to the app called Open Bar, okay, and that's a way to get uh beer uh delivered to you there. Uber Eats, uh, you know, if if this Eddie, these Eddie beers are available in your area, by all means, you know, have Uber Eats deliver some booze uh to your abode. And then also there's uh the website gopuff.com. And gopuff.com is claim to fame, you know, it's it's uh specialty is getting beer in your hands that you won't find within 5,000 miles of where you hang your hat. Okay. If you live in Iowa City, Iowa, and you want a beer from Moscow, Russia, all right, well, uh, yeah, I mean, gopuff.com, they'll get that beer in your hands, but it's gonna cost you some scratch right there. But, you know, if uh, you know, where there's a will, there's a way, and that way is gopuff.com, and uh they will get that to you right there. And you know what, if you want a beer from Russia that bad, you know what? Mad respect. Mad respect. If you're willing to go to that, to those to those lengths and pay, you know, those kind of those kind of pesos for that kind of beer. By all means, uh, you have this guy's respect right there. But uh anyway, on that note, it's time to wrap up this brew. Review time. Okay, so and I just have some random thoughts about uh the movie Beast right here. And a big, big, big, big, big, big shout out to composer Brian Caccia or ca- or cachia? There we go, right? Whatever. Cha-cha-cha-chia. Ooh, yeah, remember that? Uh so I'm gonna say Brian Catchia. Let's go with Brian Catchia. So, yeah, a big shout out to Brian Catchia for the soundtrack uh at Beast. Now, his pulse pounding synth and heavy percussion sound, it does give the movie some weights, you know, some heft that it might not have had otherwise uh there. Um I mean, like part of like watching the Dune movies, you know, there from Denis Villeneuve is of course like you know, the Han Zimmer score to those Dune movies just gives it like this epic, epic feel that uh that the Dune movies uh you know have, you know, in droves when you watch those movies. Now I'm not I'm not comparing, I don't dare, you know, compare Brian Katchia to Han Zimmer. I mean, come on. Uh like no, no, no, no. Brian Katya, you know, couldn't uh couldn't lick uh Han Zimmer's boot heels at this point, right there. But uh but you know, all that to say that you know Brian's score for this movie, it does, you know, it pumps you up and it warns you of danger, you know, while also, you know, uh, you know, enrapturing you in personal family moments, you know, where you know the main character, Patton James and his wife and daughter, uh, you know, they're they're enjoying some family time, like there's a scene where you know they're out uh on the beach in you know, they're in Australia, because this movie does take place in Australia. It's an Australian movie. Uh so they're out on the beach in Australia and enjoying some tender moments, you know, some family fun there on the beach. And and so, you know, Katchia can compose a you know a you know a track, you know, some music for that scene. But also, you know, he comes with the big bombastic sound, you know, during the fight scenes. And uh, you know, Katchia, I mean, he shares some common characteristics with Tom Hulkenborg, aka Junkie XL, who you might know did the Mad Max Fury Roads soundtrack among many, many other movies there. So in I do Junkie XL just because, you know, they're they're like a big drum and well, he's Tom Hulkenborg. Hulk Hulkenborg, I should say. You know, he's a big drum uh drug and bass guy, well, maybe that too, but a big drum and bass artist there who, you know, went into the movie soundtrack, uh uh world and all of that right there. So and my second random thought about Beast was supposed to be about this movie's opening weekend gross, but uh, you know, I'll be honest with you guys, uh, in full disclosure, um, there are no concrete box office numbers for it, which is a bad sign. Okay, I mean, if you look at the box office numbers for movies this week, I mean, you're gonna see, you know, the Super Mario Galaxy movie that I reviewed last week. Check out that episode. Um, you're gonna see the drama and um, you know, Hoppers and uh all these other movies where their numbers were released and and you know to the public there. But for some reason, yeah, the numbers for Beast was not uh released. So I don't even know how many theaters uh this movie was in. But I know like every theater that I looked up around my area did have this movie playing in it. So it's I'm betting it's it's gotta have a release of probably at least 2,500 theaters, I would imagine, right there, if not more. Um but again, we just don't have any box office numbers. So yeah, that's never a good sign. Kind of like it's a never a good sign where studios won't let uh critics see the movie, or they won't let anybody see the movie before the opening weekend. That's always a bad sign. That's when you know that movie's gonna be a nice, ripe turd of a movie when it comes out in the theaters right there. And you know, I don't watch TV, I don't watch like broadcast TV, so I don't know how much this movie was marketed, but I'm guessing it had pretty scarce marketing. And now, you know, we might get a nice surprise later this week if the numbers come out, but I'm not betting on that. But all the same, I would still go see the movie there. Uh, you know, it's it's you know you, you know, all of you out there in movie watching land, you know, everybody from the movie maniacs and my fellow Freedom Field film fanatics to the normie norms and the norma norms uh there, you guys are all the ones that dictate a movie success, okay? And uh, you know, the more the more you allow yourself to be adventurous, okay, and and go out there and see these movies. Uh now just the movies that I recommend. Okay, don't go see movies I don't I don't recommend. Uh if I don't recommend it, it's not a good movie, okay? I don't care what you know some uppity Hollywood, you know, uh, you know, Brie, you know, Brie scarfing uh, you know, fancy elite movie critic has to say. All right, the ones that you know went to film school for 27 years. No. I'm your I'm I'm the I'm your regular guy movie reviewer here. And if I say it sucks, it sucks. If I say it's good, it's good. Okay? All right. And if I say it's good, you should watch it. Even though, you know, it might not at first glance blow your skirt up, okay? All right. It's I know that there's some people out there that if it doesn't say Marvel or DC on it, they will not see it at the theater. They will not whatsoever, okay? Uh, but you know, those people, maybe someday, you know, they'll grow some courage, some bravery, and they'll go see a movie that, at least, at least a movie that I am raving about. If they don't, if they don't go see a movie where I'm like, it's a good movie, it's a good movie, you can go see it at the theater, okay? If they don't go see those movies, I understand. But if there's a movie where I'm like, you've got to go see this movie. I mean, like, say F1 last year. Okay, F1 was a movie where I was like, get off your ass, get off the couch, go see F1, bring the kids, it's a good kid movie. Go see F1. And America, at least, America did not listen to me. Okay, and they didn't listen to really any critics. I mean, it did all right. F1 did all right in America, but it did better numbers uh overseas uh there. But uh, yeah, I don't know. It's just I think it's other a thing where people like to act like, I don't know, like belligerent children, where if you tell them a movie is good, they might actually even believe you that it's good, but they're like, nah, I'm not gonna go see that movie because this guy said it was good. I'm not gonna go see it just despite that guy. Um, or they just assume everybody lies to them or that I'm a shill for this movie or something like that. It's like, I'm never a shill for a movie, okay? Uh all right, I don't get paid anything to this. So last time I checked, you gotta get paid to be a shell. All right, I don't get paid jack hardly for this. So it's virtually impossible for me to be a shill. So when I tell you a movie is good, it's good. All right. When I tell you a movie is bad, it's bad. Okay. So there you go. But uh, but yeah, so we'll see what the box office numbers I know. Well, we might see what the box numbers, uh, box office numbers look like if they ever do release them right there. So, all right, sermon over. Let's move on. All right, so let's do this here, and I'm gonna just remind you uh that I do have another show that comes on each week. So I don't just do this Sunday afternoon show. Uh I also do a show on Thursday nights, and uh that is the spoilery uh show that's a companion to this show. Now, this is the spoiler-free show, okay? And this is a show where you know I'm biting my fingernails and sweating blood, trying not to uh spoil anything. But on Thursday, uh all bets are off. Uh, you know, the uh the you know, I I can take my my foot out of the out of the pressure cooker and just talk about the movie, spoilers and all, all right? And so that show would be my Movies America spoiler warning show, okay? That's actually the name of the show, Movies America spoiler warning. And uh, just call it that because I wanted even the title to warn you that there's spoilers in the show. Now, I don't go out of my way to spoil the movie, but I'm also not gonna walk on eggshells and you know, yeah, chomp off my fingernails uh there try not to spoil the movie. If I drop a spoiler on Thursday night, so be it. You guys were warned, okay? So what really helps is for you to see the movie, okay? Uh well, again, only if I say it's a good movie, okay, only if I say to see it, okay. But uh I did, yeah, so you can check out the Thursday show, uh, again, called Movies America Spoiler Warning, where this week I'm gonna be talking about Beast, okay, but you know, spoilers and all, okay. And, you know, Thursday show is typically more of a deep dive, uh, you know, more of an in-depth autopsy on the movie than this Sunday show is, because I can talk uh, you know, more fully about the movie on Thursday because I don't have to worry about tiptoeing through spoilers or around spoilers on that show. So yeah, join me on Thursday night. Uh the show comes on at 7 p.m. Eastern, 6 p.m. Central, 5 p.m. Mountain, and 4 p.m. Pacific time there on Thursday night. And uh yeah, the best way to watch it is probably just go to my my ex profile called you know under at Movies America or go to my Facebook page, you know, under Movies America or Van Eberts, and you'll see the links uh right there. So now if you uh if you if you click the follow or subscribe button and the notification bell buttons down there, well, you're gonna get an email uh to whatever email address you you uh you give uh there to remind you of the Movies America spoiler warning show coming on. And that will have the links uh right there as well. So uh yeah, making it very easy for you to watch not only this today's show, Sunday's show, but Thursday's show right there. And hey, you know, don't be stingy with the Movies America, okay? Don't be stingy hogs, all right. Give the gift of Movies America to yeah, anybody that you remotely suspect is into movies, okay? Or especially if they're into MMA and basically any movie whatsoever, okay? Let them know about uh this show. And uh, you know, so you can send them the link. Uh, you can give them a call and I'll go, hey, Uncle Rico, yeah. Hey, there's a show called Movies America on YouTube or Rumble. Yeah, you can go check it out. I know you're a big movie fan, yeah. And I don't know why I'm uh holding uh my fingers like that, because who talks on a phone like that anyway? I should do this. Hey, Uncle Rico. That's what I should do. But uh again, all that to say is don't be stingy with the movies, America, okay? Spread it around. There you go. Spread it around all over the place, right there. Okay, so no, not like a party chick. Don't spread it around. Don't spread that around, okay? I'm talking about spreading movies America around. So there you go. But uh anyway, that's enough about that here. I just want to let you guys know about the Thursday night show. Moving on. All right, what should we talk about next? Oh, I know what we should talk about next. It just popped into my pretty little head right there. And what I should talk about is is Beast a woke after school special? Okay. And this is just a segment where, as it sounds, I just let you know if this movie has any woke in it and thus is a total waste of your time. Okay. And thankfully, no. Beast is not woke. Not at all. Okay. And some that are like very, you know, sensitive, they have a very sensitive woke trigger finger. They might say that the movie plot involving a woman training Patton back into shape is some kind of you know feminism-flavored woke. However, as the plot reveals, he's only got this woman trainer because Crowe's character, Russell Crowe's character, Sammy, doesn't want to train him because Sammy feels that Patton left him twisting in the wind years earlier after Sammy invested so much, including his mortgage, okay, on Patton having a long successful career. Instead, Patton throws that career into the crapper along with Sammy's house and wife, okay. His wife even divorces him there. But it's not woke. It's not woke at all. It's just sad and pathetic. Well, I guess, yeah, woke is woke is sad and pathetic too, but you know what I mean. Okay. So all I have to say is no. Beast, thank God, is not a woke after school special. And my final thoughts about this uh Beast movie here, the this here Beast movie, uh, is go see this at the theater, but do it quickly because I don't think it'll be there for long. And now, definitely don't bring the kiddos, don't bring young kids because the profanity and the blood are plentiful, okay? And now, is it as good as you know, other MMA-related movies like Warrior or Born a Champion, uh, the Sean Patrick Flannery movie there? It's not as good as the former, but it's a little bit better than the latter there. But it's uh still good. I mean, it's a very again, it'll pump you up uh there. I mean, it and you know, I think you're gonna be very energized, you know, to do something that involves some good old calorie burning after you go see go see yourself some beast over here, okay? But uh anyway, let's uh wrap up this show here. But real quick, let me just implore you, if you would, to follow me on any of the platforms that I'm on, uh, you know, like X and Facebook.
