Episode 1: From Debating to Harvard with Cedric
This week we are joined by World School Debate Competition veteran and Harvard graduate, Cedric. He shared how debate helped him find his voice in high school and convey his thoughts and ideas effectively. Through debating, he also learned to care about important issues around the world and engage in academic conversations of meaningful topics.

As discuss the importance of communication, active listening and empathy, Cedric also talked about how the skills acquired through debate are useful not just in academics, but also in everyday life and at work as he starts his career in investment banking.  According to Cedric, once you have acquired the skills to think empathetically, “you will see that there is light in every perspective!”
