Gratitude Day #21: NYC Subway!
Join Hyatt on Day 21 of the Gratitude Challenge as he shares how grateful he is for the NYC subway!
Welcome to the bevy podcast on the bevy podcast, we have fun, thoughtful conversations with friends. Pull a seat up to the table. Come chill with us. Hey, yo, what's up. It is the 21st day of the gratitude challenge. Hope you are feeling well. We've been on this journey 21 days, 21 days. So let's pat yourself on the back. Mike grateful for today is the New York city subway. Right. The New York city subway. You're like, what is this guy thinking? Particularly for y'all new Yorkers out there who have been on the subway, but hold on. Before. You make any judgements? I moved to New York city. About 10 years ago. After interning in the city for about three or four years. And there was this honeymoon period with public transit. The city's public transit really is impressive. You can get so many places by subway or by bus. And I was so enamored with it because back home in the south public transit just is not a thing. Thing but 10 years later, A bunch of delays on those public transits, and other. Random stuff that goes on. Yeah. It's not quite. As rosy. It once was, but today. I get on the subway. I'm only going one-stop. I'm going from time square to grand central on what they call the shuttle train. It's this is Barry. Hi, trafficked train because it connects you to. But he myths of stops. And anyways I get on and the conductor is just brimming with optimism. Typically you can't hear conductors that well, they sound like. Charlie Brown's teacher. It's like mom, Barbara, my mom, like murmur. And you're always trying to say, what did they say? Is there anything important? But today the conductor spoke clearly and he was just saying, have a great day, send out positive vibes. And, you know what? I took his advice. Aye. Tried to send that positive vibes and. As he suggested. Might be the case. I got positive vibes in return and it was really dope. And that just made me think about how often. We have these interactions. They might be micro interactions with someone, but we can sow a seed, a positivity of kindness into a person's life. We don't necessarily need 18 years. If you're like raising a child or you don't need to be a soccer coach, a basketball coach do something impactful in a person's life. It's like dropping that stone in the water and watching the ripples. Spiral out from that. So I encourage you today. Uh, since I'm positive vibes. Like my New York city, subway conductor suggest it. You might just receive some back in return. And I hope that's the case till next time. Take it easy. Peace.
