Episode #192: We Ranked the Rollercoasters in Walt Disney World

Circle of Parks Episode 192

Join us for a thrilling ride through the enchanting world of Disney World roller coasters with our special guest, Nolan, who teams up with Brittany to share their exciting experiences on seven of these magical attractions. Together with Ryan and me, who've braved all nine coasters, we embark on a lively discussion about the highs and lows of each ride. From the beginner-friendly Barnstormer to the intriguing debate over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster's Aerosmith theme, there's a lot to explore about what makes each attraction unique and memorable.

As we wind our way through the magical tracks, we tackle the intricate balance between theming, storytelling, and ride mechanics. Our conversation takes a playful twist as we speculate on potential re-themes, like giving Rock 'n' Roller Coaster a Muppets makeover, and delve into the charm of rides like Slinky Dog Dash, which might benefit from a touch more backstory. Each coaster, from the classic Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to the nostalgic Space Mountain, is dissected with a touch of humor and an eye for the imaginative details that Disney does best.

Brace yourself for the grand finale as we celebrate the groundbreaking thrills of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and the backward adventures of Expedition Everest. These top-tier roller coasters deliver an unforgettable experience, with Cosmic Rewind's cutting-edge mechanics and Expedition Everest's immersive theming setting a high bar. Despite the occasional dizzying effects, we all agree on the magic these rides bring, making us hopeful for even more future innovations from Disney Imagineering. Tune in to experience the joy, the laughs, and the dreams that these coasters inspire in all of us.

Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome to Circle of Parks podcast, episode number 192. Today we are ranking the roller coasters in Walt Disney World. There is far too much to see and do. We are here to help guide you through, but before we do that we must talk Disney merch. So this week, disney merch if you go to DisneyStorecom, they have a new Mickey Mouse and Friends golf polo shirt for adults. It is priced at $54.99. And it is what it said it is. It's all over print with mickey and his friends, donald goofy and pluto playing golf. It is a cotton blend, includes ellistain to allow a little stretch as you play around, um, or just a round of golf. So I thought it was super cute. If you are big into golf, big into disney, this could be the shirt for you. So that is this week's disney merch thank you everybody.

Speaker 2:

Episode number 100 excuse me, 192. Unfortunately this is not a trip report as we had to cancel our trip last weekend to walt disney world, but it's okay. We have a special guest with us today, nolan, say hi. Hello, you got to speak up a little bit like lean in a little bit Okay, and he's going to be joining us for this. Ranking the Roller Coasters episode. Now there's nine coasters, so you, nolan, I've been on seven. You've been on seven Brittany. You've only been on One, two, nolan.

Speaker 1:

You've been on seven Brittany you've only been on One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.

Speaker 2:

Seven as well. Ryan does not want to be on the podcast, but I have his list, yes, and me and Ryan have done all of them Correct. So if you're new here, thank you for joining us. I'm Zach, I'm Brittany, and occasionally we have With us Nolan's, our youngest, and we do this show every single week. Our goal here is to break your week up, take you to Walt Disney World and just help you have a better Walt Disney World vacation and help you through the trials and tribulations of a Walt Disney trip, even if that means having to cancel one last minute.

Speaker 1:

Right. So please, if you are wondering how to deal with all of that, listen to our last episode.

Speaker 2:

Yes, it's, the emotions of it, and then how to deal with the actual canceling everything. Erica, we love you. You're great.

Speaker 1:

She really is great. Thank you again. Travel Planner Erica.

Speaker 2:

All right, so we're going to get right into it. She really is good. Thank you again, travel Planner Eric. All right, so we're going to get right into it. So since me and Ryan both have nine and you and Nolan both have seven, let me go through nine, through seven and y'all can jump in when we get to seven. So we're all in order there. Does that make sense?

Speaker 1:

Even though they could be different. Coasters yes, Okay. So I think me and Ryan both agree our least favorite coaster is Barnstormer.

Speaker 2:

Agree. Well, that's ours too, that's yours too.

Speaker 4:

There's no padding and it's just painful. When you like I don't know, like bobble, I guess you could say yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, like it's. I mean it's a fun coaster. I get that it's kind of an intro coaster for little ones, but it definitely bumps you around. If you have back problems, you might not want to ride this ride and it's over super quick as well.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so Barnstormer is in the. What's the name of the? It's in Fantasyland.

Speaker 1:

Right the like where Dumbo and.

Speaker 2:

Pete's. Yeah, I forgot the name of that land, the Cir Fantasyland, right Like where Dumbo and Pete's. I forgot the name of that land, the Circus Land.

Speaker 1:

The.

Speaker 2:

Storybook Circus. Storybook Circus yes, We'd eventually get there.

Speaker 1:

I was like, yes, storybook Circus and it is, you know, a little further back off to the side. But yeah, I just I don't know the reason why we are speaking up, because I just happens to be on the last for me.

Speaker 2:

So we all agree. Uh, barnstormers number last on our list, and it it is your beginner coaster for kids that are stepping up to ride a coaster for the first time. That's why it's short. It's not very long. It's themed really really well though.

Speaker 1:

It is, and the height requirement is only 30 inches.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so this is your first coaster you're going to ride as a kid. Introduction to coasters.

Speaker 3:

So I mean, it is a cute, fun coaster, but it does.

Speaker 2:

It hurts my back, I'm not going to lie, and when we talked about how we're going to rank the coasters not just the coaster, the full experience, queue theming, imagineering storyline, all that went into this. So let's keep that in mind when we're moving along.

Speaker 1:

Yeah Well, and Barnstormer doesn't have a lot of that.

Speaker 2:

There's not a lot of theming. I mean it's themed well, but not a lot of backstory or imagineering into it. So again, just very beginner coaster.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

All right. Number eight on both mine and Ryan's list we do agree is and I hate to say this, but because when you look at the full overall experience in theming, we both agree number eight is Seven Dwarfs Mind Train.

Speaker 4:

Disagree? Well, we're not.

Speaker 2:

We're not disagreeing or agreeing with each other. I know you and Ryan like to compete with each other, but this is on our list because it's not a bad coaster. It's a very smooth coaster and it's a twofer. This is a roller coaster and dark ride put together. So Seven Dwarfs, Mine Train and the queue. The queue's really well done too. You got the interactive element.

Speaker 1:

Did you really think that through? I did think this through, okay, okay.

Speaker 2:

So the queue's interactive. This through, okay, just okay. So the cues interact. If it's got a good cue, great reimagining of new fantasy land where it used to be 20 000 leagues under the sea and it it's a good coaster, good smooth coaster. It's a step up from, uh, barnstormer. What's the height requirement on this one?

Speaker 1:

it's like 36, I think I can find out if you keep talking.

Speaker 2:

So that's the second least favorite coaster, and the wait time is always so long for this, for good reason though it is now. The height requirement is 38 inches so a little bit taller than barnstormer, but still pretty low.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and you know it can load up to 20 riders per train. Yeah, you know, so it is going to be a little bit bigger than Barnstormer, as well as, like, how many are riding? It at a time. But yeah, I'll talk more about it here in a little bit.

Speaker 2:

All right, so that's mine and Ryan's number eight. So we're going to get to number seven.

Speaker 1:

So now, now we eight so we're gonna get to number seven. So now.

Speaker 2:

Now we can jump, now y'all can jump in um nolan, what is your least favorite coast? You've already said barnstormer, right?

Speaker 4:

my least favorite is barnstormer barnstormer britney.

Speaker 2:

We've already talked about barnstormer, so we'll go number seven. Me and ryan both agree.

Speaker 1:

Again we agree for the next couple and they didn't like, share like zach was the last one to fill his out and didn't really look at anybody so number seven for y'all is barnstormer correct number seven for me and ryan slinky dog dash what that? Is what?

Speaker 2:

this was a difficult list. Yeah, so I'm not going to speak on behalf of ryan, but for me. I look at overall. Again, we're looking at overall attraction right. The queue is a standard switchback queue with just the instructions of the attraction right. Yeah, so it is a decent queue.

Speaker 4:

It's a good queue.

Speaker 2:

It's a decent queue.

Speaker 2:

Oh, you always complain every time we're waiting in that queue Well times, for this can get pretty long, because britney, what's the right height for this? This is another coaster that doesn't have that high of a of a height restriction. Again, this is going to be like seven dwarfsfs Mine Train. It's a smoother coaster, a little more thrilling, I would say, than Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, but again, it's still not super thrilling. The overall attraction, I think, is good, but when you look at the rest of what we have to go, it's not there.

Speaker 1:

Okay, right, so the height requirement is 38 inches. So same as seven-door it is, and you have, like, I guess you could say, a few more drops, in a sense, with this one.

Speaker 2:

It is more thrilling.

Speaker 1:

yes, yeah, you know, because a part of it is like a slinky, so it's like up down, up down, up down. So you do have that. Uh, that again I'll. I'll wait till it's my turn to talk, but, uh, but it is a 38 inch so that is why it is number seven on my list.

Speaker 2:

It's not just it's a good attraction, it's great at night, but the overall attraction with thrill and story and imagineering, those are some some good little Easter eggs in here. I'm not going to deny that it is a fun coaster. The only one on here that I said I don't want to ride again would probably be Barnstormer. I'll ride the rest of these again, okay, and the wait time for Slinky Dog can get pretty long. It can. But it is again a coaster built for younger kids. What did you say? What? Maybe six years old?

Speaker 4:

Nolan, you went on it when you were four.

Speaker 2:

Four, you were four when you went on this Four higher, yeah, so it's a good family coaster that everybody can enjoy, yeah, of all ages, right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean it is fun. You know we prefer it at night. But you know we prefer it at night, but you know, during the day is fun too, and yeah, I mean it's, it's, I think, the theming of it and everything is great yeah all right.

Speaker 2:

So what is y'all's? We're gonna move to number six. Now what is y'all's? Number six, mine.

Speaker 4:

Y'all will probably disagree with me that's's okay.

Speaker 2:

It's not an agreement or disagreement.

Speaker 4:

Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Remastered.

Speaker 2:

That's okay All right.

Speaker 4:

I didn't like it because, well, I guess I get motion sickness easily a little bit.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

And yeah, Like I like the theming, you like the theming of it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, okay, all right, brittany, what is your number six?

Speaker 1:

Well, I was looking at the height requirement for that one, because for Guardians of the Galaxy, cosmic Rewind, you do need to be at least 42 inches tall 42 inches, okay. Yes, so you don't want to share any more on Guardians. I don't know what else to say.

Speaker 2:

You're a one and done.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, maybe, yeah, yeah, maybe try it again in a few years.

Speaker 2:

No, okay, all right, okay, um, my number six, that's okay. Hey, we're not here to argue is space mountain how about this was disneyland?

Speaker 4:

hold on, no, no, no, but we're just, we're just doing what I know but if it was the disneyland one, what would you rate it?

Speaker 1:

Oh, because I do like the Space Mountain in Disneyland better. I'm not sure what I would rate it, but I do like that one better. But Space Mountain, disney World, I mean, you know I've written it a few times but I just it's. I don't know, like, I know a lot of people that are more old school and everything are going to say oh, the theming's wonderful. Of people that are more old school and everything are going to say oh, the theming's wonderful. You know, and it is to an extent, but a part of me, and I think Zach's going to get really upset with me.

Speaker 2:

I'm not going to get. Everybody has their own opinions.

Speaker 1:

I feel like it needs to be updated slightly.

Speaker 2:

How dare you?

Speaker 1:

Why I just I just do, I don't know. You know you're blasting off, you know in a rocket and going in outer space. I just feel like they could add just a little bit more to the outer space part. I know it's supposed to be a very dark ride, I get that, but I feel like they could add a little bit more to the space aspect of it. You do need to be 44 inches or taller for this ride and they definitely will check.

Speaker 2:

Yes, all right. So, moving on from the stabbing in the back, there my number six, and this is going to surprise you all. Well, look at Orion's number six. Okay. His number six. Well, we already said mine, right.

Speaker 1:

I don't know. Keep track, sorry. Okay, I don't see your list so I can't my number six is gonna be rock and roller coaster so yeah, you haven't said that yet I thought you liked rock and I don't not like any of these coasters, except for barnstormer like funny faces on it on rock and roll, yeah it's fun. Pictures on the pictures.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's fun yeah, none of these are bad coasters. Even barnstormer's not bad. I just don't want to ride barnstormer because it hurts my back. Rock and roller coaster because you know it's a great coaster, it's thrilling, it goes upside down, it's fun, but it's time for the re-theme. You know, when you look at the whole attraction like, I grew up an Aerosmith guy, you grew up listening to Aerosmith Brittany.

Speaker 1:

Yes, but I haven't ridden this ride so I can't really comment a lot.

Speaker 2:

Brittany or Nolan? Do you know who Aerosmith is?

Speaker 4:

Arrowheads.

Speaker 2:

No, not the candy. Aerosmith, no, no. Do you even know what Aerosmith is? No, no, it's a rock band.

Speaker 2:

So it's like that music that you hear during this ride, the music you hear when you're around it and all that. I've never been on it, I know, but it's themed to the band Aerosmith. It's a great theme, but the queue you're outside most of the time until you get inside. There's a couple little cool things inside, but then the pre-show is okay and then it's themed well inside. But the overall attraction to me it's time for the re-theme. I'm looking forward to Muppets. I'm looking forward to Animal counting you in before that countdown. That's what you're hoping. But something like that, right, I'm looking forward to that, right, yeah, like, I'm looking forward to that. It's time. So that's why it is number six on my list. Now Ryan and I are going to disagree on his number six.

Speaker 2:

His number six is Big Thunder Mountain. Now he's not here to defend it.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

But number six is big thunder mountain it's just not as thrilling, yeah, it's like for him.

Speaker 1:

He would probably say it's not as thrilling. He likes all the the extra on the rides and stuff, so that yeah, all right.

Speaker 2:

So we're gonna know. Number five nolan, what is number five on your list?

Speaker 4:

my number five is seven doors mine train okay, all right explain so the reason why seven doors mine train is my number five is because, well, the weight is just two, it's too long for like how the ride goes it's a short ride, it's short, the queue is.

Speaker 2:

It's alright.

Speaker 4:

It's mid.

Speaker 2:

It's mid yeah. So if you're listening to this, you're going to get some of the middle school and kids slang. So it's mid Okay.

Speaker 4:

Um, it's, I mean, it's not Wait. No, we already said that it's not a bad coaster.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but it's not wait, no we already said that it's not a bad coaster, but it's just not on the top of your list no okay, brittany, what is your number five?

Speaker 1:

yeah, I kind of just changed it up a little bit uh oh slinky dog okay yes, I did have it initially as my number two, but as I'm like sitting here staring at the rest of my list and thinking of the ride and the queue and things that you do while you wait and all that Slinky Dog, Now the queue. I think they did great theming. You know, it's the instructions for the coaster.

Speaker 2:

After the fourth time of me pointing it out to you like oh I know so you do have that, you know.

Speaker 1:

But sometimes it doesn't really always necessarily jump out at you and I think at times it took me a little bit to realize that is truly what it was, because our kids were younger. I was just trying to keep them patiently waiting, you know, so you know, you don't patiently wait.

Speaker 4:

I'm not even patient.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he has no patience, but if I have, something to at least distract me.

Speaker 4:

I'm good.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

So, anyway, we'll start doing like that Disney Play app and do trivia and stuff. You know now that he's a little older.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's fine, so but yeah, slinky Dog, though I mean the theming is great, you know. I mean we've already talked about it, but I just already talked about it, but I just the the rest of the rides that we're going to talk about, I, I think, just have more of that backstory and theming so, all right, so, but it's a fun, fun coaster ryan's number five and this breaks my heart space mountain, my number five, okay, okay.

Speaker 2:

So this, this is when it got really really difficult for me, really hard, because the rest of them are all themed Well, they're all really thrilling, they all have a great overall experience, right, right. So these these are not the last five were very hard for me. Number five for me. Number five for me and I hate to say this because I love this overall attraction Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Speaker 1:

Oh, my word really.

Speaker 2:

It's got a great story. I just wrote about it in my book, so I know it very well. The imagineering the story about it how it became I love all very well. The the imagineering the story about it how it became I love all of that, but when it comes down to it, it's just not as thrilling as my bottom four. Wow, that's what it came down to.

Speaker 4:

Dang. Your bottom four must be good Now.

Speaker 2:

It, just it's fun.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I love it. I love slip, you know, sliding around, and I love this backstory. I love the Imagineering. I love all the references to the Society of Explorers and Adventurers. I love the backstory with Tony Baxter and and how this was he brought this to life. I love all of that, but when it comes down to overall, including thrill, this was number five okay now.

Speaker 1:

Yes, you do move around quite a bit on this so there is a you know 40 inch height requirement. Yeah, remove your hats. And mouse ears, for sure, so. But uh, I'll talk about it a little bit more in a few all right, so now we're getting into the meat of it.

Speaker 2:

Nolan, what is your number four ranked roller coaster?

Speaker 4:

I hate to say it, but number four is space mountain okay, all right, I'll take it space mountain because, um, like I kind of agree with mommy, it like kind of needs to be updated and I just feel like it's not as good as my top three okay, all right and most of most of the time. Now it's down.

Speaker 2:

It's not down that much, just that one morning.

Speaker 1:

That one morning. I think it's sticking in your mind because that's usually what y'all rope drop and it was down that particular morning. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

All right, brady, and also oh, you're not done yet, sorry.

Speaker 4:

And also it's a one ride, like per seat, you can only fit one person.

Speaker 2:

Like a sled. Yeah, yeah, I like that.

Speaker 1:

See, and that's why I prefer the one in Disneyland, because you sit side-by-side.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Instead of like a bobsled yeah.

Speaker 2:

Okay, brittany.

Speaker 1:

So my next one and I just changed some again. That's part of the rules that we just made up on the fly here. So seven dwarfs, mine train I. I do love it. I did have it a little further down or ahead, I guess you could say on the list. But you know, when you are thinking of the overall experience it's midway through on my list just because it's, it's fun, but it is a little too short, you know, and especially if you're waiting in that long, long line, I just feel like it's over too soon. But I mean the theming of it. Very, very well done.

Speaker 1:

It's another good introductory coaster. You know, just like Zach was saying earlier, it's also a dark ride as well. You know the queue. There's plenty for you to do in the queue while you wait. You know you can sort jewels and wash them with water spigots and you know, come across a collection of barrels overflowing with glowing stones and turn the barrels and watch as the ceiling is transformed. You know, with the reflections and everything, like there's things to keep you busy and stuff while you're waiting in that line queue. But I just wish the ride itself was was slightly longer. Yeah, but you know the scenes that it does take you through, like I love the hi ho it is cute, it's a good coaster.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, all right, we'll go to ryan's number four and he put rock and roller coaster. Now he likes the big thrills. So that's, you know what he's looking at. He's going upside down at zero to 60 in two seconds and all that, like he loves that stuff.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

So that's why it's number four for him. Okay, all right, my number four. And this is where it gets really tricky for me. Okay. And I know a lot of people at dinner last night was debating this, my number four and this is tough for me. But when we're looking at overall cue coaster, thrill everything, space Mountain. Okay. Number four I thought no one was going to do it. I mean, that's the same as mine, yeah.

Speaker 1:

But I didn't think it was going to be your number four, but I thought it would have made the top three.

Speaker 2:

Look, I love the cue. I love just the old school nostalgia of it. I love the music, everything about it. I do love Just the thrill. It's fun. The thrill just isn't quite there though. Star tunnel, star, I love star tunnel. I can listen to that music all the time. Right, yeah, I love all the easter eggs and the nods and the scientific stuff in the queue, all of those pictures of like galaxies and nebulas and all that stuff. If you look that up on Google that's all real stuff.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I mean, I'm sure it's all so cool, but when it comes to everything, including the thrill aspect, space mountains, number four. So my top three. I'm sure we're narrowing it down, but, Nolan, what is your number three?

Speaker 4:

Big Thunder Mountain.

Speaker 2:

Big Thunder Mountain. All right, go for Three Big Thunder Mountain, railroad, big Thunder Mountain.

Speaker 4:

All right, go for it, tell us about it. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, you sit side by side.

Speaker 2:

It's kind of long. I guess you could say it is for a coaster. It is a little bit long. Yeah, you're correct.

Speaker 4:

It's kind of fast.

Speaker 2:

It is yeah.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, and you don't have to be too young for it.

Speaker 2:

No, I don't know what the right height is for it, probably 40 inches. Big Thunder 40. 40. Yeah, it's fun. Yeah, again, none of these are bad coasters. None of them. Just how we ranked them. Brittany, you're number four.

Speaker 4:

The Q's how we ranked them. Britney, you're number four, the q, sorry, number three. You're right, the q is pretty good. The q is cool. There's some cool stuff in the q.

Speaker 2:

I've talked about it a lot like you can. There's like I don't know like handles you like, so that used to be connected to the rock work as you look out the back part of the q and you could like blow stuff up oh, that's cool, that's cool it doesn't do that anymore, but you can still do the handles and all that yeah. Right, but it's not connected to anything, unfortunately. All right, Brittany, you're number three.

Speaker 1:

Expedition Everest I'm so mad. Expedition Everest Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. You know, this is an animal kingdom. You do need to be 44 inches or taller. It's definitely a thrill ride with big drops. There's dark parts to it, you know. I just I know a lot of people are like what in the world, but I just I don't know If you are one that loves the thrill and you know, the faster, bigger drops, the better. Feeling like you're going upside down, even though you're not, because you're in the dark and all of that Like this would be the ride for you. But that's just not me Now. I have now let me. Let me say this I have not gone through the queue, I've only seen, like, the pictures and stuff and you should gone through the queue.

Speaker 4:

I've only seen like the pictures and stuff and you should go through the queue. Thank you. And you would change your mind and you only you, only you've only rode the ride once.

Speaker 2:

No, I rode it like three times. You've done it a few times.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, yeah, I've ridden it a few times, it's just been a few years, but no so anyway yours, but no so anyway what. But what I, what I have seen of it, you know, I mean it is great theming for sure, and even outside of it, like when you're just being a spectator watching people ride the ride, you know, and watching them go up and coming down, and everything like I mean the theming all around this coaster definitely is there, you know, it's, it's beautiful to look at from, you know you just even watching people ride it. But it's my number three.

Speaker 2:

All right, my number three in these were hard, but this is my number three. We'll go to Ryan's number three. He put Tron and I'm gonna have to agree with him.

Speaker 4:

I never rode Tron. I know and I haven't either.

Speaker 2:

So, and I'm going to have to agree with them, I never rode Tron, yeah, and I haven't either. So Tron's number three on mine and Ryan's list. I'm going to speak for myself, not for Ryan. The outside of it is just epic. The music is epic, but the cue.

Speaker 4:

What I've seen. It's kind of plain.

Speaker 2:

So on the outside, before you go in, it's just standard switchbacks. And then when you get in and it's kind of cool for a second, but it's like you get Like they flash open where you launch at. So you get to see where they launch at and that's pretty cool to see. But then you just stand in this waiting room following instructions and it's like a switchback and then you get to the lockers and then you get into the main thing. Like it's not. There's not a lot of cool stuff in the queue, right. So the overall experience is not that high, except for the thrill. This is a short coaster, but man, is it mighty. It is unlike any coaster you've ever done before. You're sitting on that motorbike, you're leaning forward I like to hit my arms up and that launch outside into where the people are walking. That is so awesome At night, man like so good.

Speaker 1:

So you think like part of the reason why you enjoy it the most is the type of seating. It is, though it's different.

Speaker 2:

Yes, it's very different. It's awesome If you get the chance and you love coasters, it is so fun, Like that. Launch outside is nothing like that. Now, once you get in, it winds around inside. It's fun. But that outside portion at night there's nothing like that. But it's only number three. Number three on my list is Tron.

Speaker 4:

So we've got two more to go Like how you sit on Tron, is it kind of like Flight Passage?

Speaker 2:

Kind of, but you lean forward a lot more.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, like you're almost more on your knees. I haven't ridden it, but just looking.

Speaker 2:

I think you would, once you get a little bit older. I think you would enjoy it. All right, Nolan, what is your number two?

Speaker 4:

My number two Slinky Dog Dash.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 4:

Talk about it, slinky dog dash. Well, I mean, I like the cue, like it tells you, like it's kind of like a lego set instructions yeah, yeah and it's kind of long, and then I like how this like three, two, one, and then it has like the go go talk in there, yeah yeah, that is, yeah, it's cool.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because some people, I think, think the ride is over at that part before Hang on. And then, also it takes like sharp turns and it's yeah.

Speaker 2:

Well, talking to the mic, not to mommy. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

I'm just looking at you, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Okay, well, good.

Speaker 2:

All right, brittany, what is your number two?

Speaker 1:

So my number two at one point was my number one, then it went back to number two, then it was my number one, then it went back to number two, okay, okay. So currently my number two is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

And it's high up there on the list just because, for one, I do like the length of the ride. You know. So, like it make, even if you have to wait like 45 minutes, it makes it feel worth the wait for one.

Speaker 2:

Definitely.

Speaker 1:

You know so and it's fun. I mean, zach has purposely powered into me more on those turns than how it really threw him over on my side, you know, because you you are, as you're taking the turns, you're bumping into the people next to you.

Speaker 1:

You know you're sliding around a little bit, but it's just, it's fun, you know, and I think it just has a lot of like memories for us. And you know the theming, as we were saying earlier. You know like, yes, it is an older ride and stuff, but I just I really like the theming all around because I mean, it really does feel like you are on that wildest ride in the wilderness, like you're out West and in the wilderness and it's got a mind of its own and you don't know which way you're going to turn next. And you know you, I'm looking forward to like the updates that they're supposed to be doing to it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, closed for the rest of the year.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so you know if they're doing the dynamite scene like they have in Disneyland, like I love that part.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you know I might close my eyes through some of this ride and scream a lot, but it's fun. It is fun yeah.

Speaker 2:

And me and Ryan watched the fireworks from here. Yeah One, it's fun, it is fun. Yeah, and me and Ryan watched the fireworks from here, yeah, one night, so that was a memorable experience.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

All right, Ryan's number two Guardians of the Galaxy. Cosmic Rewind.

Speaker 1:

That's his number two. That's his number two Interesting.

Speaker 2:

Okay, my number two. Now I know we were at dinner last night and everybody was guessing what this was going to be. Now, I know we were at dinner last night and everybody was guessing what this was going to be, and I'm like I'm not saying you got to listen to the episode.

Speaker 1:

This is your number two.

Speaker 2:

My number two. These were difficult, yeah, these were really, really hard and I look at again cue overall experience, thrillness, everything about the attraction Number two for me, expedition Everest.

Speaker 1:

That's your number two the way you talk about it and hype it up to everybody it's a great coaster, it's number two.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, how is that bad?

Speaker 4:

that's like, I mean, like it's better than yours.

Speaker 1:

You ranked it like you can't I? I know I moved it around a little bit, but I had to go back in my mind and think of things, but we're still letting Daddy talk.

Speaker 2:

Hey, we're not on the soccer field. Tone it down just a little bit, okay.

Speaker 1:

But I'm just the way you like, just like earlier when you were like, yeah, you need to go through the queue. You do.

Speaker 2:

The queue is this is the best queue in Walt Disney World. I'm standing by that. This is number two Best queue in Walt Disney World. I'm standing by that, and this is number two. Okay, the coaster is great, the drop is great, the reverse on it is great. Everything about this is great, but there's one better Overall thrill, everything Overall. It's not just coaster, everything. This is number two. It is great. Okay, it's great. I'm not going to talk that much about it because I mean, you even have like two Everest shirts.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I do and a pin.

Speaker 2:

And a pin and a pin. I have a pin. I think he lost one of them. Well, that was just an Animal Kingdom thing. Oh yeah, All right, Nolan number one. What is your number one roller coaster in Walt Disney World?

Speaker 4:

My number one is Expedition Everest.

Speaker 2:

Expedition Everest Tell me about it.

Speaker 4:

Well, I mean, it's long, like pretty long.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

And the queue is pretty good. It's awesome like pretty long yeah, and I just the queue is pretty good.

Speaker 2:

It's awesome, isn't it? Yeah, we can just hang out in there, can't we?

Speaker 4:

Yeah, and also the wait isn't that long. If it says 50 minutes, probably like at least 40, 35.

Speaker 2:

Which we should be there right now as we're recording this. And the wait times today have been pretty long, yeah.

Speaker 4:

So yeah, right now, as we're recording, this and the wait times today have been pretty long. Yeah, so yeah, and I mean the queue has stuff that, like the people explored yes, and like their tents and like how they got like scratched up. Well, not that.

Speaker 2:

Well, not the people, but the tents yeah and the canned food and all that yeah, see, this is when you have father-son moments and you can teach them this stuff.

Speaker 4:

And then when you go down like I don't know, you feel free.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, the wait list. Sit in the back, sit in the back, it's so much fun. Yeah, yeah, anything else you want to talk about it?

Speaker 4:

I like how it goes backwards and like yeah so that's the simulate going upside down.

Speaker 2:

That's what it's supposed to simulate that tight yeah, the. G's.

Speaker 1:

It's supposed to simulate going upside down yeah, that's all I got alright, brittany, you're number one so at the start of the show it was more in the middle, but I.

Speaker 1:

I made it number one, even though I felt very nauseous for a little bit after this ride. I think everything leading up to the name of the ride in a second. But if I looked in the direction that I was supposed to and not checking on little Nolan, I might not have gotten that nausea feeling, because this ride wants you to look in certain directions, so it moves you in that direction, and so if you're looking at it, they say that you shouldn't get dizzy. So, guardians of the Galaxy, cosmic Rewind, because everything, like the queue there's so much in that queue, like I've only been in it once but there is a lot of detail, a lot to take in and look at as you're standing in that line, you know.

Speaker 1:

So it's not like, oh, just a little bit here, a little bit there, like it's continuous throughout, and then, like the pre-show, you know the pre-show is decent as well. You know it's really getting you in that vibe, that mood, the environment, you know an extraterrestrial escapade, and I don't know. I don't know like all of that I thoroughly enjoyed. I thoroughly enjoyed, and it kind of gives you like a planetarium feel. I guess the ride itself, I don't know. I don't know if I would say it's a good ride. I enjoyed it till I felt sick, so I think one of these days I will ride it again, when I don't know it could be.

Speaker 1:

When I don't know it could be a few months from now, it could be a year from now, it might be five years from now, I don't know. But I think I will ride it at some point again. Okay, so because and I think the length of the whole experience also is is worth it and they do a good job at the end of the ride once I was feeling somewhat okay enough to open my eyes back up, of just tying in, you know, the guardians, characters and all that.

Speaker 2:

So all right, yeah, ryan's number one. You and ryan actually agree on something. What is going on? For the first time, for the first time.

Speaker 1:

For the first time ever, for the first time in forever.

Speaker 2:

Oh, you all agree on Frozen.

Speaker 4:

No, we both agree that we do not like Frozen.

Speaker 2:

Ryan's number one roller coaster is Expedition Everest. Again, he reiterated everything that you said, Nolan the queue, the coaster, everything is great.

Speaker 4:

It's pretty long and he likes going backwards and upside down Well, kind of upside down, like the feeling of it. And I mean it's fun.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

The queue is pretty cool.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's like all the artifacts, Alright my number one Favorite roller coaster in all of walt, disney, world, guardians of the galaxy, cosmic, rewind it. It beat expedition nevers because this coaster, there is nothing like it. You will never ride anything like this anywhere else. The way the coaster moves, the actual vehicle rotates around the axis instead of just going moving straight. The whole experience. The queue has so many nods to Horizons and I'm sorry, not Horizons, but Universe of Energy. It's got nods to Walt's in the queue. Walt is in the queue. Come on to walt's in the queue. Walt is in the queue. Come on, walt disney is in the queue.

Speaker 2:

It's got star lord talking about old epcot attractions veggie, veggie, fruit, fruit, universe of energy, which this attraction took over the building. You know um, the, the pre-show is really good if you, you look I like when the Celestial said your, your time is up and rockets in the back, just kind of nodding his head like an agreement that humans. You know it's funny. The, the music in it. The coaster is so much fun Like. This is not just a coaster, this is a fun party experience. Everybody's screaming and yelling, having a good time. It's like Mission Breakout in DCA on the West Coast. It is a party. This coaster is a party. It is so much fun. It's just the whole package. They nailed it. They nailed it and that's why it is ahead of Expedition Everest for me. Just everything, I love everything about it, and that's why it is ahead of Exhibition Everest for me Just everything.

Speaker 2:

I love everything about it. Yeah, just yeah. It's just so much fun the story, the Imagineering. We had to wait a long time for it and I'm glad they nailed it. I hope they get the car stuff and Villainsland stuff in Magic Kingdom right like they did with this attraction Right. I don't think anybody's had anything negative to say other than like the motion sickness with Guardians. I don't think anybody can say that's a bad attraction. I've never heard any like besides it being motion sickness.

Speaker 1:

Right, it being you know a bad overall attraction. There are people like it does, say like, if you do get motion sickness, like you might want to be aware of that ride.

Speaker 2:

So I mean, like it wasn't just me and Nolan that felt that way, like there were some others, it is legitimate, it is legit.

Speaker 1:

But majority of the people that come off that ride are just fine, and my thing is, I can't help but wonder what I have felt that way, not you know way, staying on track with where the vehicle was turning and just looking straight ahead, because it was once I looked to the side and then tried to look straight again. I was like, oh no.

Speaker 2:

Well, we'll find out again in June.

Speaker 1:

I didn't say. I said it could be a few months from now.

Speaker 4:

It could be a year from now or a few years from now. I know this is completely off topic, but is Tower of Terror a rollercoaster?

Speaker 2:

No, it is not a rollercoaster.

Speaker 1:

No, I mean, there are a lot of other thrilling rides here, so this episode was just focused on rollercoasters.

Speaker 2:

Alright, so there you have it. That is my number one is Guardians. This is the overall experience there. There you have it. That is my number one is Guardians. Just the overall experience. There's nothing like it.

Speaker 1:

See, I thought yours was going. I thought Space Mountain would have made it in the top three. I thought it was going to make top two, and then I thought Expedition was going to be number one and Cosmic Rewind was going to be number two. See, that was the dinner topic last night. What is Zach's number one going to be number one? And?

Speaker 2:

Cosmic Rewind was going to be number two. See, that was the dinner topic last night. What is Zach's number one going to be? Not just among our family, but among our friends we were with yeah. What is the number one going to be? And everybody was like, oh, it's going to be Space Mountain, it's going to be Space Mountain or Everest. I don't think anybody said. I think a couple people said Guardians.

Speaker 1:

But I still think it was. I don't know, I mean, I knew the top.

Speaker 2:

I thought your top three, like I said, was going to be Space Mountain Somewhere, expedition and Guardians, it's just. I love the nostalgia and everything about Stay Simple, the thrill. Just when you look at Tron Everest and Guardians, the thrill is just not quite there.

Speaker 1:

But it was ahead of.

Speaker 2:

Rockin' Roller Coaster.

Speaker 1:

And Tron may not have popped in my head as being in your top because I haven't written it, so yeah, yeah, all right.

Speaker 2:
