Episode #196: Epcot Attractions: Under, Over, or Properly Rated?
Zach and Brittany dive into the ultimate debate about Epcot attractions—deciding which ones are underrated, overrated, or properly rated based on their experiences and changing opinions over the years.
• Spaceship Earth sparks disagreement with Zach calling it underrated while Brittany says it's properly rated
• Both hosts agree Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind lives up to the hype as properly rated
• Mission Space gets a surprising "overrated" from Brittany while Zach defends it as underrated for its authentic simulation
• Living with the Land causes the biggest disagreement with Zach jokingly claiming it's "overrated" despite it being his favorite attraction
• Remy's Ratatouille Adventure and Soarin' Around the World both receive "properly rated" status
• Journey into Imagination with Figment needs more ridership to justify updates according to both hosts
• The Walt statue photo opportunity and Behind the Seeds tour are considered severely underrated experiences
• Instagram polls reveal audience opinions sometimes differ dramatically from the hosts, especially regarding Journey of Water

Speaker 2:Thank you everybody for joining us. Episode number 196. We are going back to episode. We did this episode back on episode number 22. Long time ago, and that was January 14th 2022. So over three years ago. Things have changed.
Speaker 1:Yes, things have changed, some new things, some changes Even maybe our opinions on some things, our opinions on some things have changed.
Speaker 2:Things have opened up. We've done more things. So we're not just going to be doing attractions, we're going to be doing experiences. That we've done as well, and hopefully you, the listener, have done it as well. Sorry, allergies are still bothering us. We are doing better.
Speaker 1:We are.
Speaker 2:I think we are progressing. Yes, we're getting better. Yes, I think we are progressing. Yes. We're getting better. Yes, so if you're new here, thank you for joining us. My name is Zach.
Speaker 2:I'm Brittany and we do this show every single week and we hope to one. Just break your week up, take you to Disney World with us or Disneyland for about 45 minutes to an hour. Helps us, we hope it helps you and we hope to help you have a better Walt Disney World vacation. Just by talking about stuff you may not have thought of, this episode may help you, may not. You may be yelling at us during this episode.
Speaker 1:Who knows?
Speaker 2:Who knows, and that's okay. That's what makes Disney so great is everybody has the same opinion and everybody agrees on everything. Yeah, no, that's the exact.
Speaker 1:Not at all.
Speaker 2:Not at all, but you know, it's okay. We all have different opinions and that's what makes us so great and keeps the conversations going in discussions.
Speaker 1:Yes.
Speaker 2:All right, so let's get right into it. We're going to start with the big golf ball Space, spaceship Earth, brittany. Yes, do you think spaceship Earth, everything about it, is underrated, overrated or properly rated?
Speaker 1:I think, properly rated. Okay, because it is an iconic classic ride. I think the opinions out there a lot would agree Like some portions of it should be updated. Uh, however, I think a lot of people appreciate it not being touched as well, you know. So, like it's 50 kind of 50, 50 a little bit. I it's one of those, though, that I feel like you're not at epcot, you haven't experienced epcot unless you ride this ride yeah, I would.
Speaker 2:I'm going to say it's underrated. Okay, this is a must-do. It's the icon of the park. It is Spaceship Earth. It's a geodesic dome. It's for any height, all ages. It's a slow, dark ride through the journey of communication. If you know, I'm big on communication and how it started and began. There's a lot of little Easter eggs in here that I really like, and it needs some leaven, though.
Speaker 1:It does yeah.
Speaker 2:I do like the retro-ness of it. But the audio animatronics, we have the technology. You know the guy making the papyrus paper. He can. You know it can be a little better.
Speaker 1:Right, papyrus paper, he can. You know it can be a little better right? Yes, some updating to the animatronics, you know, maybe even add another scene that's more current, because yeah communication is still evolving and changing. Some you know, because it takes you through from the stone age to the computer age.
Speaker 2:But again I mean things in communication have have been updated you know, I'd like to see the paper boy saying read all about it, talking to us and not the wall yeah you know, come on, can we move him around a little bit, right, right? But you know him around just a little bit.
Speaker 1:I think he deserves to see the people yeah, yeah, just saying, the only reason why I did properly right is because I I always hear a mix of things on this ride, you know, and I feel like more people are riding it. To be honest, I feel like there are longer lines for it lately.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, I'm still going to go underrated. Okay. I know we're not doing Disney trivia anymore, but here's a Disney trivia question for you. In the little scene where they're watching the moon landing in the apartment, what board game is behind the couch? It's set up scrabble. No, it's a classic like 70s board game clue mousetrap oh, I'm like I don't know, okay.
Speaker 1:Okay, yep, check that out next time you're. So I pay attention to those little, those little details, and we're going through the the scenes yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean idt, I just haven't that.
Speaker 2:One hasn't particularly got my attention, I guess all right, we're moving on to, I've said, it'm saying it again, the best coaster on property. Guardians of the Galaxy, cosmic Rewind, brittany, tell us about it.
Speaker 1:All right. So here you are, taking off on an intergalactic chase through space and time with the Guardians of the Galaxy. You must be 42 inches or taller for this particular ride and it is a dark thrill ride. You know you're rocking, rocking out, you get different songs. I think it's on a six loop, six song loop, five songs. So you don't know which one you're going to get until the ride gets started. And you know it's a thrill. You have a reverse launch and it's a uh, you know, fully enclosed coaster, the coaster itself. It can rotate all the way around, so like 360 degrees. So you're meant to focus on what's in front of you, what the action is.
Speaker 2:And yeah, it's uh, definitely an extraterrestrial experience it is the largest indoor coaster in the world yes in the world? Yes, so what do you think?
Speaker 1:So, even though I didn't feel too great after this ride, I think it is properly rated. I think the hype around it it deserves it. You know we've talked about this before. The queue for the ride, you know, is full of details. It helps with the experience. The pre-show is great and the ride itself. If I had focused more where I was supposed to focus, according to my ride vehicle, I think I would have enjoyed it even more.
Speaker 2:I would agree, properly rated. The hype around it is warranted. The wait times 85 minutes to 90 minutes. It is worth it. So I would agree, agree, properly rated. Um, this is one of the attractions we put up on our instagram stories. Yes, we'll get to that at the end, but there are some interesting responses to this one. Yeah, I was not expecting the responses to this one that we got, but I agree, properly rated. It is a great attraction. It is. I'm gonna wait to 90 minutes. I think it's worth it. Um, and it is the hype around it is it is properly the the hype around it.
Speaker 1:It is properly ready yeah, because people are super excited about it, you know when. Now you know they have the regular line for for it where before you had to. You know, get. What is it called?
Speaker 2:Virtual queue, yeah, the virtual queue. Or the lightning lane single pass, which you can still do, the single pass.
Speaker 1:Yes, but those were the only two options before. You know, and a lot of people didn't always realize that you know. So now you know, everyone that was so hyped about it but didn't do those options can now wait in line and do it, and I think you you know that's going to keep it hyped up.
Speaker 2:Taking the motion sickness stuff away from it. I don't think I've heard anybody say one bad thing about the ride, right Aside from the motion sickness.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:So just the ride itself. I don't think I've heard one person say one bad thing about it. Not one. No, have you Like?
Speaker 1:I'm talking youtubers yeah, I think everybody's social media, people are friends.
Speaker 2:No one has anything negative to say about this attraction yeah, they nailed it.
Speaker 1:They nailed it. They did an awesome job all right, moving on.
Speaker 2:We're staying in that same part of epcot. Where are we going, britney?
Speaker 1:we are going to mission space now. You're blasting off on a thrilling simulated NASA-style mission to Mars, or you orbit the Earth on a more gentle ride through space, because there's two experiences you can go on. What is it green?
Speaker 2:Green and orange.
Speaker 1:Yes. So green is going to be a less what am I trying to say? More family-friendly adventure. It offers a gentler experience. You must be 40 inches or taller. It uses a motion simulator that offers light movement and doesn't spin, so it's less likely to cause motion sickness. The experience is optimal for those prone to motion sickness or uncertain about which level to choose. Now, the Orange Mission you are hurtling through space on an out-of-this-world experience. Thrill seekers will love this one. The Orange Mission uses a centrifuge that spins and tilts to simulate the speed and g-forces of a spacecraft launch in re-entry, so that one. You need to be 44 inches and taller, so keep that in mind. Orange 44 inches, green 40. So that is important, and the difference is what I was just saying about how it's simulating different things. So the orange you're getting the g-force and the speed and it's spinning. So if you are prone to motion sickness or maybe have some back or neck problems, that one might not be for you.
Speaker 2:Yeah, this one I can do the orange side, but I feel for about an hour I'm a little off. Yeah. It does get you. It doesn't make me sick on it. It doesn't make me sick afterwards, but afterwards my equilibrium's off just a little bit little bit, yes, so what do you think this is? Rated britney overly rated, overrated. You think it's overrated? Why do you think it's overrated?
Speaker 1:and maybe it's because I did the green one I don't know, but I and I'm. Maybe it's because I need to write it one more time too. I've only done it once. I did the green. I did did it when our youngest was a lot younger and I was once again being mom and being more aware of what's going on with him, and not so much the experience itself. But if you are claustrophobic as well, this may get to you.
Speaker 1:This will get you yeah, I don't know how the orange is exactly, but the green mission. Like I didn't realize how enclosed you were and how close it came towards your face and stuff. So I don't know like the experience itself for me wasn't really thrilling at all.
Speaker 2:It's the same, it's the same vehicle, okay, so yeah, it gives justice.
Speaker 1:Yours just spins. It spins, the centrifuge spins yeah. Okay, but yeah, I just, I don't know the ride vehicle itself and stuff I think they could maybe update.
Speaker 2:Okay, yeah, I said underrated, oh interesting, and here's the reason.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:Not that I particularly like this attraction yeah, because you haven't done it the last few times. No, and Ryan wants to do it again, and if he doesn't mention it when we go in June, I'm not going to mention it either. But the reason I said it's underrated is because this is an experience Unlike anything else you're going to do at any other, at any other park, not just Walt Disney world. This is the closest thing you can get to space training anywhere. Yeah.
Speaker 2:They've had astronauts ride this and said that is the closest, closest thing you will ever get to really feeling what it's like to be an astronaut with the g-forces, because you are spinning the same g-forces they experience in space. Excuse me, you're experiencing on this attraction. That's why I say it's underrated, because it is so realistic. That's why, okay, and there's some cool little Easter eggs in there and then you know, if you don't get motion sickness, do the orange one. It's actually pretty good and pretty realistic. Okay.
Speaker 2:So that's why I'm going underrated, just because it is a real attraction, Like it's not something that they're just making up. This is what it's like to go to space Per the astronauts that have done.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and again, maybe because you were on the orange and I was on the green, but for the green one I wouldn't wait longer than 25 minutes. Oh, I'm not waiting for this. Don't trust me, I'm not saying.
Speaker 2:I want to do this. I'm just saying it's underrated because of the realism of the experience. If that's your thing. A lot of people don't like doing it, which I get. I'm one of them I'll do it. I don't want to, but for the kid, for Ryan, I will do it.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:But if he doesn't bring it up, you're not going to past it. It was like a 40-minute wait. He's like I don't want to wait 40 minutes for it and we moved on and I didn't bring it up the rest of the day.
Speaker 1:Yeah Well, and y'all had ridden it before.
Speaker 2:so yeah, and that was enough for me. All right, moving on. Where are we going?
Speaker 1:So next is Test Track. It should open later this year. Now this is supposed to be still a little similar. They're just making some updates and stuff to it, so it's still going to be like a virtual concept type of car.
Speaker 1:And you're in the past it was. You know you're putting it to the test on this thrilling high octane attraction. You had to be 40 inches or taller, which I'm sure will still be the requirements, and it was like an ultimate test drive. Cruise over to the gleaming Chevrolet Design Center to create your own virtual concept car and, when you're done, buckle up in a six-passenger sim car and take it for an exhilarating spin on the test track. And you were going through terrain and obstacles along this winding circuit and accelerating through straightways, maneuvering through switchbacks, inclement weather, hugging curves banked at 50 degree angles and scale hills up to three stories high, and you were reaching speeds of up to 65 miles per hour as you put your car through its paces and after each test, there's a scoreboard that would show you how your vehicle that you had designed performed. So, based on how this was previously, I think for me it was starting to become overly rated, and I enjoy the ride whoa, whoa.
Speaker 2:Wow. Yes, I knew that would be a surprise, because I do like to ride it wow but, I am looking forward to what is going to be updated. Wow, hot take. Yeah, Excuse me, hot take.
Speaker 1:Yeah, like I think probably on my when we did this. What episode 22 you said?
Speaker 2:Episode number 22.
Speaker 1:I probably did not say that and probably said properly. I should go back and see, but I'm looking forward to the update. I think it was time for some kind of update.
Speaker 2:And so, based on what it was before it closed, I was feeling like it was overly rated. I need to go back today while I'm at work, walking around on my breaks, and listen to episode 22 to see what we said.
Speaker 1:Yes, we should have done that before. Yes.
Speaker 2:Because Should have done that before. We should have done that before because when we did this show on episode 22, Remy's and Guardians of the Galaxy was not open. Mm, hmm, so yeah, all right, wow, overrated Wow.
Speaker 1:It's getting too big for its britches. Huh Well, just again, I don't know Like. I have a feeling I will love it once it reopens, Right, but let's hope that they do it properly, Well it's still going to be the same ride, just a kind of reimagined story. Yes.
Speaker 2:Do you know these cars? Sorry, this is one of the did you knows. Did you know? Yeah, these cars were originally supposed to go 90 plus miles per hour.
Speaker 1:I mean, yeah, I could see that.
Speaker 2:And then the lawyers are like whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, let's dial that down just a little bit. Still, the fastest ride on property.
Speaker 1:Right, and it is. I mean it's fun it is fun, but I just I want to see what the change is.
Speaker 2:Yeah, all right. Well, I went properly rated. I think this is what I said back on episode 22. Properly rated Solo grade, so a great attraction. Still had a 90 plus minute wait all the time and I think it was worth it. It was the hype around, it was fun. It's a good thrilling attraction which, now that Guardians is open, now there's a couple thrilling attractions in Epcot. Before there was only this and I think it was properly rated the single rider line here.
Speaker 2:That's the way to go Is the most underrated thing, probably in Epcot. There's a single rider line here. The way to go is the most underrated thing, probably in epcot is the single rider line for this, because all our boys were not big enough to go on the single rider line. Now they are and you were like we're not going to do it. It's not that short of a wait, literally. You're right on. Yeah, 90 minute wait outside. Probably a 30 minute wait for the lightning lane.
Speaker 1:Single single rider right on right on yeah, yeah so wow, yeah, wow, hot, take there and no, and what he was saying about the single rider, like definitely you know, once, once the kids are older, you know, and they don't have to be literally right next to you, but like just one vehicle in front of you or the seat in front of you or behind you, whatever, yeah, so all right move.
Speaker 2:Wow, that was a hot take again.
Speaker 1:I like, I love the ride. I'm just surprised, but I think yeah, but I just I'm looking forward for the update all right.
Speaker 2:Okay, let's head to the other side of the non-world showcase side all right.
Speaker 1:So now we're headed to the seas with Nemo and friends. So you're going under the sea without getting wet on this gentle ride based on Disney and Pixar's Finding Nemo, which finds Nemo lost once again Any height requirement. You are boarding a clam-a-bill and decent.
Speaker 2:A what?
Speaker 1:It's called a clam like a clam, A clam-a-bill and descending A what it's called a clam like a clam, a clam-a-bill, clam-a-bill.
Speaker 2:I like that.
Speaker 1:And descend slowly below the waves where Nemo's friends are trying to go through all the coral reefs and all of this stuff trying to find him because he is lost again. You're dodging stingray or stinging jellyfish, you're underwater mines, the angler fish. Bruce the shark makes an appearance and, yeah, I think that the line cue for this was done very well, but you don't get to spend enough time in it, and we've said that before too but it really does a good job of getting you into.
Speaker 1:Okay, we're going underwater, we're going in the ocean, just all of those vibes. If you do have time to kind of walk slowly through there.
Speaker 2:Which I advise doing.
Speaker 1:There's a lot of details. There's like projections of the like the school of fish making different shapes, and things like that. Now, when you get off the ride, you can encounter an ocean of fun in the seas with Nemo and Friends Pavilion. So this is like a big aquarium. It's 5.7 million gallon saltwater aquarium that a lot of clownfish, sharks, dolphins, sea turtles and more call their home, and for me, this is the highlight of the ride. So the ride, the ride, okay. So the ride itself. If we're talking about the ride itself, not the line queue, not the aquarium, the ride itself, I think, is overly rated.
Speaker 2:Whoa, wow, yes, okay.
Speaker 1:I think they could have done a little bit better of a job. Instead of like all these projections and things like that, I think they could have put maybe a couple more animatronics, not saying as elaborate as like the Little Mermaid ride in Magic Kingdom, but maybe a little bit of both, you know See.
Speaker 2:I went underrated.
Speaker 1:But you've on the ride itself, you're still like I'll skip the ride and just go in the aquarium.
Speaker 2:Yeah, opinions change. Okay, this is a nice relaxing ride. Sometimes you need this, yeah.
Speaker 1:Now the aquarium area in the line queue. Oh man, that's underrated, because the line queue has so much. And then the aquarium. I could be in there half a day just relaxing and chilling and watching all the animals.
Speaker 2:I think this attraction is very relaxing and I love the part where you're going through the aquarium and they do the projections on it. I think that's really well done. I just think sometimes you just need a chill relaxing attraction, and that's what this is to me.
Speaker 1:Yeah. So for that reason I'm going underrated okay, well, I think in the one from a few years ago you were like probably all right yes, but the aquarium I mean like I love watching like the sea turtles and in the dolphins and yeah there's a lot of different viewing areas where you can see different uh sea but then the same ones like the dolphins. You know there's a few different viewing areas that you can see them from and even on different levels.
Speaker 2:All right, yeah, let's move on to the land pavilion. Where are we going.
Speaker 1:So next we are going to Living with the Land, and so it's like a greenhouse experience. On a gentle boat tour, you discover the surprising history of farming. This is another any height you can be on this ride, and so you're seeing firsthand how Walt Disney World's horticulturists are using innovative growing techniques and cross breeding high yield crops to help feed a growing planet. Discover a cornucopia of fruits and veggies from around the world, some modified to jaw dropping effects. Feast your eyes on edible food crops from around the world. A glimpse of a hybrid striped bass, tilapia, catfish and freshwater shrimp in the fish farm. Striped bass, tilapia, catfish and freshwater shrimp in the fish farm.
Speaker 1:And yeah, it is a very interesting ride. It is low-key, laid-back, relaxing, but I think like seeing different ways of how they can grow some of these things is very interesting, right From how they may hang from higher up to different like tower type things that are helping water them. I can't think of the actual name of that hydroponics. Thank you, uh, and yeah, I think vertical growth, vertical growing yes so I think you know all of that is very interesting.
Speaker 1:you are learning a lot of information, which is what Epcot was about, or supposed to be about, and so I don't know how people really are viewing this one right now.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:Like in general.
Speaker 2:People. How are you viewing this?
Speaker 1:Because I know like some people are like, nah, that ride's boring, and then others just absolutely love it, you know, uh, for so I don't know like well, what did you think though? I think it's properly rated properly rated. Okay, all right I think I'm sure you're gonna say under I don't know I think it's properly.
Speaker 1:I think it is something that you need to experience at least once, if not multiple times, when you're here. I feel like I've noticed something each time that I've ridden it and you know the crops do change at different points in the year, so depending on when you're on the ride, you know that can be a change as well. I can understand why some people, you know, might find it boring. I can understand why some people might find it boring, because if you're one that is wanting just some thrill, thrill, thrill, you might not care for this, but you're being educated and it's a chance to slow down, unwind a little bit, cool off if you're there in the summer, and yeah, so properly, for me I'm going overrated. Oh, this is like your favorite ride overrated.
Speaker 2:You can skip this ride.
Speaker 1:Oh, I know why you're saying this because you don't want the line to get long. No, it's overrated.
Speaker 2:Don't ride this ride.
Speaker 1:No, don't ride this ride. It's overrated. No, this goes against everything you have said in any other show. It is overrated.
Speaker 2:No, you don't need to do this attraction. Skip it. It is boring. It will make you fall asleep.
Speaker 1:He is saying this, so don't ride this skip it.
Speaker 2:It's a skip.
Speaker 1:You've been listening long enough, you know this is not the truth look okay, all right, here's the truth.
Speaker 2:Here's the truth. I love this attraction. This is my favorite, most underrated attraction in all of walt disney world. All right, but when I see a line for 20 minutes, a 20 minute wait for this attraction, I have mixed feelings. One I don't want to wait 20 minutes for this. I just want to walk on and get the front row by myself and chill. Right, I'm being selfish, but at the same time I'm glad people are appreciating this attraction for what it is, because this is part of Walt's original vision of Epcot. Walt's original vision for Epcot was experimental, prototype community of tomorrow doing this, finding new ways to do things.
Speaker 1:Yes.
Speaker 2:And this is that. This is exactly that, and I hope they never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever take this away. But when I see a 20 minute wait and I don't want to wait for this, don't ride this. It's overrated. No.
Speaker 1:As far as how long I would wait for this ride, like less than 30 minutes, yeah, because even though it's a good ride and a way to unwind and all of that stuff, I don't want to be waiting that long.
Speaker 2:We've gotten spoiled, we just want to walk right on.
Speaker 1:Yeah, because we're used to walk on or like five, maybe 10 minutes.
Speaker 2:So that's why I'm saying overrated, okay, all right, staying in the land pavilion.
Speaker 1:We knew something was up with that. Yes, still in the land pavilion, however, not necessarily staying on land is-.
Speaker 2:I see what you did there.
Speaker 1:Soaring around the world. So take a flight on a breezy airborne adventure. As you hang, glide above the breathtaking wonders of the world. You must be 40 inches or taller. It's a slower ride, small drops, and it's an exhilarating aerial expedition. You feel the thrill as you're raised high in the air and swept from one scenic location to another. You see the world's wonders, natural and man-made, like you have never seen them before. No mountain is too high, no landscape is too far. Your journey begins as the clouds part above the majestic Swiss Alps, and then you visit polar bears and icy greenland. Swoop past sailboats on Australia's iconic Sydney Harbor. Weave between elephants marching toward Mount Kilimanjaro. Glide above marvels like the Great Wall of China, the Great Pyramids of Egypt and the Taj Mahal of India. Cruise over Monument Valley. Fiji's is it Laos Island?
Speaker 2:Sure.
Speaker 1:And thundering Iguazu Falls in South America. Look down on the Eiffel Tower as it sparkles like a jewel in the night, surrounded by the lights of Paris.
Speaker 2:You mean the bit like a jewel in the night, surrounded by the lights of Paris.
Speaker 1:So, um, it's a bit, yeah, depending on where you sit, that's. That's one scene that can be a little different. Uh, what is the key?
Speaker 2:You want to sit in the middle?
Speaker 1:Yeah, but do you remember if it's a, b or C? Oh uh, why don't you look that up?
Speaker 2:A Well, I was going to keep talking.
Speaker 1:It's the talking because it goes up, yes, so I'll double check that here shortly. But depending on where you sit, sometimes the eiffel tower can kind of be leaning a little bit.
Speaker 2:But um, it's a 180 degree leaning tower of eiffel.
Speaker 1:Yeah it's a 180 degree 80 foot imax digital projection dome, spectacular aerial footage, and you're getting like sense and motion and like the breeze in your hair. All of this stuff soaring around the world is definitely an experience. So I guess you can tell how I'm talking and everything. I think it is properly rated. Okay, I think a lot of people want to experience this. They want to see these you know scenes from all these places and get the smells and, um, it's nicknamed. What is the nickname for the moms?
Speaker 1:oh, this is every mom's favorite ride yeah, we're like living with the land is every dad living with the land is every dad.
Speaker 2:Living with the land is every dad.
Speaker 1:Yes, and so I really love it. I love the smells. I love seeing like the elephants and the polar bears, you know, and the Fiji Islands, all of that, like the smells and everything that's pumped into this space when you're flying over those landmarks. It's just, yeah, I love it.
Speaker 2:I'm going underrated.
Speaker 1:Okay, I think, because these lines are getting long.
Speaker 2:I've noticed the lines going down for this. Okay, I think with the other attractions going on now, I think it's taken now that Guardians is open and that test track will be opening up this year. I think in Remy's it's taken away from this a little bit. Okay, and I do miss Zoran. We haven't done it in a bit. We did it in DCA yeah. I don't think we did it when we went to Epcot this summer.
Speaker 1:I don't think we did, because we did it in DCA.
Speaker 2:So I do miss it. I do miss his name is Patrick Warburton putty. Yes, um, it's a great attraction and I do do miss doing it. It's very peaceful, and did you know the Imagineer who designed the ride concept for this did it over the weekend on an erector set?
Speaker 1:I did not know that.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so I think that's pretty cool.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so I'm trying to find the best seat. So I'm reading row one, center of concourse okay, yeah, row one yeah, yeah, because I was like a didn't sound right, so yeah row one, yes, row one, ideally in the middle yeah, we've had it a couple times.
Speaker 2:Yeah, because you don't want to feet dangling in your view. Right you want to be the front row.
Speaker 1:Yes, yes. Now again, I mean, you're going to experience everything you know, no matter where you're sitting. It's just where everything is like, centered and without feet dangling and all of that. That is known to be where you want to sit.
Speaker 2:All right, moving on.
Speaker 1:Yes, moving on to journey into Imagination with Figment. And so Figment, he's the playful dragon, he's your guide on this delightful ride through the sensory labs of Imagination Institute. This is another. Any Height, you can be any height for this ride. And just imagine, you know you have. Dr Nigel Channing, played by Eric Idle, sets out to prove how the five senses capture the imagination, but he's upstaged by the mischievous figment. Prepare for surprises galore as you travel through a series of vivid, whimsical sensory labs. Learn about all five senses, as figment turns the lab upside down and causes quite a stink in the smell lab. Let your imagination run wild, and it's kind of like a musical adventure as well.
Speaker 2:All right, so what do you think?
Speaker 1:I think it's overrated.
Speaker 2:Whoa, wow Got some hot takes on this episode.
Speaker 1:So I love figment. I'm saying it's overrated because it just needs to be updated. It needs some love. I love that it's overrated because it just it needs to be updated. It needs some love. I love that it's about your imagination. I love all that. I still find myself laughing on this ride, but it needs some love I would agree and that's why I'm going underrated.
Speaker 2:Okay, people ride this attraction. More people need to ride this. No, because if the ridership goes up, disney will put more money into it oh, they're not going to put money into an attraction that doesn't have a lot of ridership. So here's the problem with this right everybody loves figment. I don't think there's anybody that will say they don't like figment it is the figment, is the mascot of Epcot, as it should be, and it's everything we have because of imagination. Right, right.
Speaker 2:But they have neglected the attraction. Therefore people don't write it. But people love Figment, so people don't write it. They're not going to put more money into the attraction.
Speaker 1:But I'm almost afraid that if people stop writing it, then they'll just do away with it completely Exactly so more people need to write it. Right will stop riding it, then they'll just do away with it exactly.
Speaker 2:So people, more people need to ride it right?
Speaker 1:yeah, so you see the cycle.
Speaker 2:We're in right, right people. The people love figment. They've neglected the attraction. People aren't riding the attraction, therefore they're not putting money into it makes sense, yeah more people ride the attraction, they'll put money into it I would hope so and and bob eiger said on the earning call last week that they maybe do like a short story animated thing. Okay, don't, I don't care about that right, fix the attraction.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, we don't want, with all the thing on disney plus with all the technology.
Speaker 2:We have come on right. You can make this an amazing attraction, yeah for sure make it better people ride this attraction. It's underrated, go ride it and maybe they will and maybe they will put more time into it yes but yeah yeah, all right, all right.
Speaker 1:Now moving on to world showcase and going more into the france pavilion so did you see, there was a fire there yesterday yes, I saw, I think it's. It was from that bakery maybe.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but they put it out pretty quickly. Yeah, but, but it was a lot of smoke it was, it was.
Speaker 1:So they did have to evacuate the France Pavilion yesterday, but I think within I think I read somewhere like within two hours it was back up and running.
Speaker 2:Yeah, Disney's usually pretty good about.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and no one was hurt or anything like that.
Speaker 2:No one was hurt.
Speaker 1:It was good yeah to the France Pavilion Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. Feel like you've shrunk down to Chef Remy's size for a 4D culinary adventure based on the Disney and Pixar film Ratatouille. When your small life is a big adventure, you can be any height for this ride and it's a recipe for excitement. 4d ride experience. You're joining Chef Remy on a daring culinary caper that will captivate all your senses as you zip, dash and scurry through the bustling kitchen, dining room and walls of Gusteau's famous Paris restaurant. So they did an awesome job with this. We recently watched the movie again. It was on TV like a week or two ago and I forgot just how well they match some of the scenes. Yeah, and it is definitely a 4d experience. You might get a little little splash while you're on it and um, yeah, I think they did great. It is a super fun ride. It's one of my must do's now. I think all the hype around it and everything it is properly rated.
Speaker 2:So is it Ratatouille or Ratatouille? I don't know, you don't know either.
Speaker 1:I'm not positive because I've heard it said both ways.
Speaker 2:I've heard it both ways too.
Speaker 1:And I catch myself saying it both ways, but I think it's properly rated. Again, it's fun. I love the France area anyway. And leading up to this attraction, it's great, the music playing. Once you're in it, you know the outside line queue. Eh, you know.
Speaker 2:They're just switchbacks.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but once you're inside and a little further in, it makes it look like you're outside seeing the rooftops in the town and um. And then once you're on the vehicle, it's just it's. It's a fun experience.
Speaker 2:So I think all the hype around it and everything, it is properly so if you had asked me this a year or two ago, I probably would have said it's overrated, but now that we've written it a few more times, I'm going to go properly rated. Excuse me, I agree with you. Um, this attraction is growing on me. It is a very nice attraction. Is it a must do for me? I don't know if it's a must do for me, if we go or when we go, but I do really enjoy this attraction. I love the music around it. I I do love the France Pavilion, the walk up to the attraction with the music and the ambiance. Excuse me, yeah, I agree, it's properly rated. It's usually a long wait, and it's a long wait for a reason. Kids love this attraction as well. Do adults too.
Speaker 2:Yes, yes, and yeah, I have changed my mind. A year ago I probably would have said overrated, but now I'm gonna say properly rated, because I do enjoy this attraction.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah well, good, yeah, good, good, all right, we're still on the world showcase side, going over to norway pavilion and frozen ever after. So voyage to Arendelle aboard an ancient Nordic vessel as you take a musical tour of the wintry world of Frozen Any height, on this one, let it go all over again. Find a seat aboard your boat and let the lapping waters take you through a frozen willow forest. Soon you'll be rubbing shoulders with some boulders, aka Kristoff's family from Troll Valley, before bracing for the cold.
Speaker 1:High up in the icy blue world of the North Mountain, elsa's enchanting ice palace awaits. And behold the wanderer and keep an eye out for Anna, olaf and a few more frozen friends. This enchanting summer snow day celebration, complete with many of your favorite frozen tunes, is sure to melt even the coldest of hearts. So it's a song filled journey. Slow moving boat ride. There are a little bit of backward and forward plunges down short waterfalls, you may get a little wet and so, yes, it's frozen. Uh, we know the love out there for frozen definitely the outside uh line q.
Speaker 2:You're just in the pavilion area you know which I do love the norway pavilion yes but there's nothing like specific to the ride to really like look at it. It doesn't have the ambiance of the France Pavilion Right.
Speaker 1:Now, once you are inside, they did an amazing job of making it look like you are in Arendelle.
Speaker 2:Yes, I think this is one of the best queues, probably one of the best queues in Walt Disney World.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I mean, it's like you're in the town, the music, just everything in front of you, beside you, below you, you above you, uh, then, as you're getting closer to hopping on the ride, you're in. What's his name? Okins okins, yes, okins cabin yeah, like his little shop and yes, he's like it's a steamy window and you hear him and he does a lot of yeah, it's so good and I love it.
Speaker 1:I absolutely love it, yeah, like if you're stuck there for five minutes, it's entertaining you're gonna you know, yep, uh, so yeah. And then the ride itself. I mean, you know so, but I, if I'm incorporating the ride, obviously with With it.
Speaker 2:You have to think, not just you.
Speaker 1:I know.
Speaker 2:Other people.
Speaker 1:I know Overly.
Speaker 2:Wow, brittany with the hot takes on this episode, yeah, wow.
Speaker 1:Partially because they could do a little better with the animatronics.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so they're the older style animatronics where they're projected. The faces are projected.
Speaker 1:And you can, so it looks like they have really weird facial looks.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, it is yeah.
Speaker 1:So I think that is what I am basing it on, because they've done this in other parks around the world with more updated animatronics, and it makes the world of difference. The ride itself is almost identical, yeah, but the animatronics make a difference.
Speaker 2:I mean you know when you can, but for the five-year-old girl who lost Frozen, you think she cares about the projected face on it. If I were a, little girl.
Speaker 1:I would say properly rated, you know, because I mean the queue. I absolutely love the queue when y'all are like I don't want to wait for 35 minutes.
Speaker 2:No, the queue's awesome.
Speaker 1:I'm like I'm waiting the 35, 40 minutes for this. Am I going to wait two hours? No, but I'm waiting maybe 45 minutes Because I love once you are in the building, yeah, but the ride itself. If they could do a better job with the animatronics, then I would say properly.
Speaker 2:Okay, well, I'm going properly rated. I guess I'm a five-year-old girl, then huh.
Speaker 1:Now see, I think the last episode you probably said over.
Speaker 2:I probably did, but I'm trying to think of not just me. I'm being unselfish here for a minute. Right. If Just me. I'm being unselfish here for a minute. Right, If you have anybody in your family that loves Frozen, you're going to be doing this attraction. Yeah.
Speaker 2:And it's a long wait time. It's 90 minutes plus every single day, years after it has opened. Right, for a reason, right People will love this attraction. So I'm saying, do I care to do it? No, I don't care to do it. No, I, I don't care to do it and we've done it a few times, but it's not a must do every trip for us. If we could just go, do the queue be like hey, I just want to go hang out with oaken for 15 minutes and then I can get out, I'm good. Yeah, can we do that? Yeah, can we go? Can we go to the cast member like hey, this is just where I want to stand I just want to hang out, chill with oaken for a bit and then go.
Speaker 2:That would be cool. But I'm saying, is it the hype around it worth it? Yes, I think it is.
Speaker 1:It's still a great attraction and it's going to continue to have long waits because the frozen franchise is so beloved yeah, no, and I agree, I just, I really wish that they would update the animatronics, you know, I mean, maybe they don't have to do the whole animatronic, just the face well, they would have to redo.
Speaker 2:I know, I know, I know but um, but yeah.
Speaker 1:But, like I said, the the line cue, like the whole cue, I love, and the scenes on the ride, yes, but just yeah, animat, yeah, animatronics Like, come on, disney, you've done it elsewhere, do it here in Epcot.

Now let's go to one of her favorite attractions and pavilions in Epcot and characters she loves.
Speaker 1:Yes, so in World Showcase going to the Mexico Pavilion, the Grand Fiesta Tour starring the three. Is it Caballeros or Caballeros?
Speaker 2:I think it's Caballeros. Me too, I think you don't.
Speaker 1:When it's two L's, you don't pronounce it like L's.
Speaker 2:Erica, let us know.
Speaker 1:Take in the sights of Mexico and the antics of three feathered amigos on this gentle boat ride through the Mexico Pavilion. This is another. Any height you can ride Donde esta, donald Duck. So where is Donald Donald's? Disappeared south of the border. And it's up to the other two caballeros from the musical trio, panchito and the Mexican, charo Rooster and Josue Carioca, the Brazilian parrot, to find him.
Speaker 1:Cruise down the Rio Grande on a dark boat ride past some of the most famous sites in cities in Mexico. And is that the missing Mallard climbing a Mayan pyramid in Chichen Itza? So anyway, it's a very animated experience inspired by the 1944 Disney film the Three Caballeros. Your adventure comes to life against a backdrop of live action footage, hand-drawn animation and the jaunty musical score from the movie. So the Mexico Pavilion itself, I think, is done very, very well, very, very well. You're inside. It's like nighttime market shops, restaurants, you know. The pavilion leading up to this ride done very well. So I always love going into the Mexico Pavilion. And as far as the ride itself like we we don't ride it every time, but we've ridden it several times um, I think it's properly rated okay, I'm going underrated.
Speaker 2:Okay, yeah, I mean there's not usually that long of a wait for it and yeah, it's just, it's a boat ride through and I think it's a good attraction. They did really so the uh. It was closed for a bit for refurbishment. It was recently reopened and now the videos are digital. Ok so it's a little bit clearer and the audio is a little bit better now too.
Speaker 1:So it did need a little love. A little love. It got a little love.
Speaker 2:Come on, let's show some figment love, right yeah? I think it's underrated, it's a good attraction. Usually not that long of a wait usually.
Speaker 1:Right Now. If it's raining, it'll be packed. Yes, yes. So yeah, I agree.
Speaker 2:Yeah, all right, moving on to the Journey of Water inspired by Moana.
Speaker 1:Now this just opened last year, two years ago, um, like was it in the fall of 2023? Maybe?
Speaker 2:maybe anyway, yeah, uh, tell us about it yes, so journey of water.
Speaker 1:Inspired by by moana, it's on the world nature side. Explore the wanders of water along a lush trail. That's fun for all ages, based on the Disney animated film Moana. So this is an attraction. Like you're walking through it, it's not a ride. You can be any age, any height and it's an outdoor exploration trail where water comes to life and you're going with the flow. When you are doing your self-guided tour on these trails, you can play with the water as it travels from the sky to the oceans and back again. So there's encounters where you're, you know, like playing with it, doing things with your hands, like you're interacting with the water to either, you know, make this water cycle, jump up and down or make waves, all these different things, and it's a very well done, interactive experience. You know there's a path that if you're afraid you're going to get wet and you want to make sure you stay dry, you can take that as well. Or you can go through the wet path and see if the water stops while you're below it.
Speaker 2:You're not going to get that wet.
Speaker 1:No, you're not, and so it's, I don't know. It's a great experience. I think in the daytime it is beautiful, but at night it takes on a whole other level. I think it's properly rated.
Speaker 2:I'm going to go underrated. Okay, Because for a few reasons. One, some people have said this does not belong in Epcot. This should be an animal kingdom which I understand where they're coming from. If you have not gone through and done all this stuff and you did not know that this is some edutainment which there needs to be more edutainment, put back in Epcot.
Speaker 1:Right, so that's why we think it fits here.
Speaker 2:It fits here very well. Yes, is it more Disney, ip and Epcot? Yes it is, I don't mind, I'm coming to Disney for Disney stuff, right?
Speaker 1:Right, and I mean you've got to think like kids and everything too, like they're learning, but it helps because they can tie it in with a movie or a character. It is a lot.
Speaker 2:It is breathtaking, the Heart of Nefidi.
Speaker 1:Te.
Speaker 2:Fiti, the Te Fiti, mm-hmm. In the foreground with Spaceship Earth. Mm-hmm. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I think it's underrated. Go check it out. Adults love this as well as kids. I think you will not be disappointed, right? Yeah, I thoroughly, as kids, I think you will not be disappointed, right?
Speaker 1:Yeah, I, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt like I was a kid again really. I mean, uh, when we first did it, it was the trip um, a little over a year ago with just me and Zach, and you know there's pictures and videos and stuff of me and like I look like I'm having fun, you know, uh. So I did properly rated because, even though there are some that don't feel like it belongs here, you know the hype around it and when you're there and you see how people are, like I think it's proper yeah, yeah, all right.
Speaker 2:Moving on getting your picture taken with the walt statue, britney, what do you think?
Speaker 1:I think it's underrated.
Speaker 2:I completely agree.
Speaker 1:I think you know you have. Your have those that are true Disney fans, walt fans, the appreciation of all his ideas and everything. I think you know those are the ones that are really like, oh yeah, let's go get our picture and sit next to the statue, but there's never a long line, there's never a line yeah, that's that's.
Speaker 2:I'm two, two things. I'm glad there's never a line. Yeah, two things. I'm glad there's never a line, because I always want to get my picture taken with Walt. Even when I go on my day trips, I still get my picture taken with Walt. Two, why are people not appreciating Walt and getting their picture taken with Walt? That's how I feel about it, right. Right, you have to go meet Walt.
Speaker 1:You have to. All of this wouldn't be here.
Speaker 2:None of it would be here if it wasn't for Walt, and I just think it's awesome. If you have an opportunity to get a picture taken with, you know, the Walt statue, then you have to do it. So I think it's underrated, yeah, all right. Moving on to some experiences and shows, so last year we did the behind the seeds tour at the living with the land and they take you, you know, backstage and take you behind the seeds literally and talk about the. They expand further on what the ride talks about and it's a guided tour and I think it was great. I loved every minute of it. You get to eat a cucumber.
Speaker 1:Yes, and it does taste different in a good way.
Speaker 2:And it's just a great experience and I think really expands on the attraction Brittany. What do you think?
Speaker 1:Yeah, I mean you know it's an hour and the price isn't bad it ranges from $39 to $45 a person and in that hour I mean it is you're learning a lot the whole time and experiencing things. So, yes, you get to sample a cucumber and it does have a different taste, but it is better. You get to feed some of the fish on the fish farm and just learning about how they go about doing these. You know these greenhouses and the farms and everything. It was a lot better than I thought it would be.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so is it underrated, overrated or properly rated?
Speaker 1:I think it's under Underrated. Completely agree. It's just great.
Speaker 2:Yeah, all right. Moving on to a show, we did not do this on episode 22, or maybe we did, I can't remember. But we're going to go back to the aquarium. Yes To a show Turtle Talk with Crush. Any heights, any age, all ages, it's a show. And this, I think, is we've done it a few times here and in Disney's California Adventure. And you know, even if you don't have kids, go and just watch. Yeah, the cast members here that are playing Crush awesome. They do such a great job of responding to these little kids in such a funny way.
Speaker 1:They do because the conversation is happening in real time. It's not like, though, they had a heads up on what the questions were or anything.
Speaker 2:It's like on the spot yeah, I think this is really underrated. It's very entertaining even if you don't have kids, because our kids haven't interacted with them. But it's just the cast members that do this, are so funny, so witty and then he still, you know, calls everybody dudes and do debts.
Speaker 1:So good yeah so good, yeah, I mean, and you don't, you know, you don't know what kids are going to say you know and sometimes you know they they pause crush pauses for a minute Like uh they're thinking about like, okay, how can I, you know? And then it's just, but it's so entertaining, you know, or a lot of times kids will say something that calls out their parents yeah and then crush, kind of does a good job about embarrassing mom or dad you know, and yeah, I think it's underrated yeah I, I would agree and you're.
Speaker 2:It always says a 15 minute wait. You're just waiting for the next show, right?
Speaker 1:exactly so it's so good yeah, it is, and each time is going to be different, so you might be, you might see it once and there maybe it's not quite as funny, depending on what's being asked and stuff. But then the next one you could be. You know, laughing so hard you're crying you know, so yeah all right.
Speaker 2:Moving back to world showcase, we're gonna. This is the only show that I've done, and that's something we need to do a better job of is going to these, the shows in epcot, don't you agree?
Speaker 1:uh, yes and no so sometimes working in education. You want to break from it that's fair.
Speaker 2:Okay, that's fair. So I have done the american adventure this. This is at the American Adventure Showcase.
Speaker 1:I would hope so.
Speaker 2:In World Showcase and it's the American Pavilion and you feel the spirit that propelled America to greatness in an inspiring retelling of our nation's history. Again, this is for all ages, any height, and I think this is an underrated show. It's a great telling of American history history. They did a great job with the audio animatronics and I was really surprised at how well the show was.
Speaker 1:You're just gonna take my word for it yeah, I mean and I think it's one maybe you know, had our um adult trip not been canceled, then we would do it I don't know for sure with the boys, just because they're learning so much of this in school. I think it's great and they should experience it at some point. But I just know our upcoming trip it's right after school's out and that's going to be the last thing that they want to do. Kids being kids right now, again, nothing against what. Right now, I get it, yeah. So, again, nothing against what it is. I think it. From what I've heard from Zach and what I've seen on videos and stuff, I think it's. They did a good job. I just you know the timing and knowing when your boys are just absolutely done taking in any more information stuff. You got to think about that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah all right last one and I, and I'm not rating it because I haven't done it sorry, last one is watching the jammeters perform on the non-world showcase side, britney.
Speaker 2:What do you think?
Speaker 1:so I mean it's always very entertaining, uh, you know, I mean it's, it's a unique percussion experience for sure, uh, but they look like they're having fun. When you're watching it, you know you can't help but smile. Um, I, I could see it being properly or underrated. I don't maybe underrated because you don't get to. You don't hear a lot of people talk about it as much as they should get credit for I guess yeah, I'm going properly rated, okay.
Speaker 2:Um, I couldn't imagine walking through the non-world showcase side and not hearing them, because you do. Maybe you're not always watching them, but you do always hear them when you're walking around, yeah, you know, and it just adds to the ambience of epcot, I think and they've been around forever too yeah so, and I think there's usually some people standing and watching and I'll if if I'm walking past them, I will stop and watch for about five or ten minutes.
Speaker 2:It is a fun, entertaining show. So I'm saying properly rated, okay. So yeah, all right, all right. So we asked y'all on Instagram what y'all thought of some of the attractions, and the first one is Cosmic Rewind Guardians of the Galaxy. Cosmic Rewind Is it over, under or properly rated? And 67% of y'all said underrated. Nobody said over and 33% of y'all said properly rated, so I'm surprised people said underrated on it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I was T when I saw that, yeah.
Speaker 2:All right. Next attraction is the Moana walkthrough. 67% of y'all said overrated. Wow yeah.
Speaker 1:Well, like have you experienced it at night?
Speaker 2:Nobody said underrated Right, and 33% of y'all said properly rated. Wow yeah.
Speaker 1:That's a little surprising.
Speaker 2:Did Erica just vote over and over and over? No?
Speaker 1:no, no, I don't, I don't even know. Erica, we love you, we love you.
Speaker 2:Erica. Next attraction was Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. 33% of y'all said overrated.
Speaker 1:But 67% said properly yes, that is correct.
Speaker 2:All right. And the next one was living with the land. Nobody said overrated Thank you, except for me. 75% of y'all said underrated Nice. 25% of y'all said properly rated.
Speaker 1:All right, so we got some good responses there.
