The word of God is so wonderful. It's so powerful. It's so awesome. This is the main reason for addressing Proverbs 30 this morning. Is to realize that even though this word came from a man whom we don't do not know, and who is not really described in other parts of the Scripture, and yet the words that he was enabled to carry because of the Spirit, because the Spirit of the Lord conveyed these words to him and through him. These words are so obviously anointed and so powerful, evidenced by their content to be the Word of God.
Therefore, they are have been included within the canon of Old Testament Scripture. We need to understand these words and apply these words to us today. And we see that as these events, as the wisdom contained in these words is not followed, then we see problems, difficulties, quaking, disruption within the earth, and this is happening all around us. Even this morning, as we open our as we open our news channels and and listen to what is happening, we see evidence of a violation of these principles all around us. We see evidence of a violation of these principles within our families and within our immediate societies where we live.
This is obviously true without regard to what part of the earth you live. You will be experiencing evidence of a violation of the wisdom contained in these two verses, I'll read this passage again, and then I want to move to a closing comment. Again, these are the words of Agur, the son of Yake. Even the prophecy, the man spake unto Ithiel and unto Ithiel and Ukal. And then, as we move through to verse 20-one, for three things the earth is disquieted, and for four which it cannot bear: for a slave when he reigns, and a fool when he is filled with meat; for an odious woman when she is married; and a handmaid that is heir to her mistress, or displaces her mistress. As I come to a conclusion this morning, I want to, I want to present just a just a portion, a few excerpts actually from the American thinker, and this is from an editorial written by a man who who is using a pen name of A. C. Smith?
This was published on March the 19th, 2020-one just a couple days ago, and he in this article he refused to an idiocracy presenting the idea that we are moving in our Western forms of government. He is writing particularly about the United States of America, as a Canadian, I can identify with this and say that this principle is is moving quickly within our country as well. And I believe this is also true about many countries within Europe, and I could say with throughout the Western world. In in his article, he refers to a movie, and 2006 a movie was was made. A film was made called *Idiocracy* and so he writes at the beginning of his article: the 2006 movie *Idiocracy* depicted a comically exaggerated American dystopia. Anything resembling reason and logic had all but been abandoned over the decades. The fundamentals had taken such a nosedive that farmers were watering their crops with Gatorade instead of water, and people started picking up advanced degrees from Costco.
Now I'll read to that point, and then I'll come to a different excerpt from his article. This is important because we are moving. We have begun to move into what could be reasonably described as an idiocracy, and the reason for this is in large part a consequence of failure to observe the wisdom of those four things that Augur has written about several 1000 years ago, these four things that the Earth does not handle very well, does not tolerate very well, or does not endure. Now, continuing with this recent article in American Thinker, it has become apparent in the last few months that logic itself has been canceled. Rational thought is what keeps such idiocracies at bay, short-circuiting anything that has gone too far outside of the prescribed limits.
And what the writer is obviously saying that. In the past, there have been norms within our society, and these norms or normal parameters have been a barrier to idiocracy. And rational thought is a cornerstone of this. Rational thought is what keeps these idiocracies at bay. It keeps them at bay; it keeps them from overwhelming society. But this has been true about the past. But what the writer is saying is, in the last few months, logic itself has been canceled. He continues in a different portion of his article, and he writes: "Now we watch in disbelief as one idiotic thing after another become new standards, rules, conventions, and even laws. Idiocy is becoming as necessary as logic used to be. In the great debates and efforts of the day to grapple with the nation's greatest problems, logic need not apply. In fact, logic is probably racist in the new idiocracy.
