As I come to a conclusion this morning, I'll just mention a couple of things. I believe a few things, as I close, that are happening now within our societies in the Western world. It's certainly happening in Canada at warp speed. In many ways, the progressive movement, liberal, progressive, totalitarian spirit, has moved more quickly in our country than it has even, perhaps, in the United States of America. Many do don't realize that because we have not been as public in the past as has the United States of America in terms of its publicizing its politics for the world to see, but quietly behind the scenes, all these forces have taken over in in in the country that I am a citizen of. Let me point out a few things that I believe to be roots, a discussion could lead to what is root and what is branch.
To me, the idea of a branch is a manifestation-that which takes its life and nature from the root. The root is the cause; the branch is the manifestation. We could talk about things such as horrible events, horrible things in our society, such as abortion, for example, which is the murder of an unborn child. The only justification for taking the life of a human being is to save the life of another human being, and that's a reasonable, logical position to take. And yet, with abortion, that logic is set aside. Even though we we admit or we can recognize the evil of abortion, we realize it is it is a branch. It's not the root. The root is something else that results in an acceptance of abortion as a right of a mother, but in the area of root, as I come to a close, in the area of root, I want to mention I want to mention a couple of things. One is, how do we treat sin? How is sin treated?
Is sin treated by repentance, a call to repentance, a call to recognizing the sin, a call to say yes, I am guilty of that transgression against God's law. I am a sinner, and I repent and turn away from that sin. Do we deal with sin or treat sin by way of repentance, or do we treat sin by way of normalizing it? Do we refer to the sin as a normal part of human behavior? Those are root areas of roots, and if we deal with sin by way of repentance, then there is a corresponding branch, and that branch is a blessing on the society. If we treat with if we treat sin as normal part of human behavior, then that will produce also a branch, and that branch will be a branch that will cause a disquieting effect within the earth.
The earth will not tolerate that branch well, because that will be a curse within the society, not a blessing. Another area that I believe that needs to be examined and looked at carefully is the in the area talking about root areas would be in the area of home and homemakers, what is the home life like? What what constitutes home life? And is a mother in the home as a full-time home maker? Is she making the home? Is she making the home in which the children live that they leave from in the morning, and that they return to later in the day. Is she there to make the home, to establish it?
Now there are branches that result from the dynamic of the home, and what constitutes home life, and is there a homemaker in the home? There are whether that's true or not, there are branches that grow out in terms of manifestations within the society. Another area, which is a root area, is the area of home and school. Home and school is the home the place that the child feels the most comfortable, the place in which he belongs, the place that he longs to be, the place that he hesitates to leave and hurries home to again. His home, his comfort zone, or is the school his comfort zone? Does he prefer the school to his home? Whether if he prefers his home because he has a mother in the home who has made that home, a homemaker, and there's no place in the world he would rather be.
But in the place that she has made for him, then there will be branches that will go out into the society as a consequence of that dynamic. But if the school has replaced that in his or her young life, and the comfort zone is the school, and the place that they would rather be is with their friends at the school rather than with the homemaker at home. Perhaps he doesn't have a homemaker at home. There are branches that go out as a consequence of that as well. Another root area that I'll mention just as I as I come again as I conclude, is in the area of accusation and the testing of accusations. We have moved to an area where accusations are thought of as being as being factual.
If someone is accused of a crime or accused being accused of misbehavior, then there is a tendency within our societies to assume the person is guilty of that. Even we find this now in terms of the branches that are going out from this false assumption. Our societies in the Western world, Judeo-Christian societies that have been based on Judeo-Christian ethics has not been based on this false idea of proven guilty by an accusation. But even we find that this, as this has taken over within our society, that branches for have been are manifested. Branches have manifested this false opinion, and we find even law enforcement now effecting arrests based on an accusation, just a simple accusation, without any evidence at all to support it. Now, accusations need to be tested. Accusations need to be taken seriously, of course. Every person who reports a crime, reporting an assault or any kind of crime, being victimized by a crime, all those should be taken very seriously and should be very carefully investigated. But they need to be tested, and depending upon the testing of accusation, then various actions should be should prudently be taken, but unfortunately, we are not in that place now within our societies, because we have become accustomed to basically treating accusation as if it is sufficient grounds for following through with arrest and detention, and laying of charges, this is these are branches that result from this root of accusations not being tested, and one final root that I'll mention is in the area of enforcement, and I'm speaking.
I'm speaking of law enforcement. I'm speaking of police officers and the administration of justice, but especially the enforcement branch, or the enforcement arm. A subject that I am familiar with. My experience has been that those who are charged with law enforcement take an oath that they will faithfully uphold and do the duties that are prescribed by the legislature in my in my case in the Dominion of Canada, and that their allegiance is to that oath, and it is not to a mayor of the city that they work in. It's not to the premier of a province in which they live or work in, but it is an oath to enforce the laws of the Dominion of Canada. In other words, the allegiance of the law enforcement is to a higher level than a mayor or a governor or a premier or some local official.
We have moved into an area now where emergency measures have been granted to local officials, and these emergency provisions that have been given provide for law enforcement to become basically an agent of an individual to follow the whim, to follow the judgment, to follow the inclination, to follow the ruling of a mayor in some cases, a governor in some cases. This is a root problem. This is a this is a root that has a. Tremendous problem within it, and the resulting branches from this-it is resulting in the arrest and conviction and the denial of freedom to individuals within our society, based on an emergency measure made under a special circumstance by an individual, this is to deny the wisdom of Proverbs.
These are the kinds of things that are the consequence of Proverbs 30: that the earth does not endure these well, the earth does not tolerate these kinds of things well. This lack of employing and understanding and applying the the wisdom that comes from God results in a dysfunction within the earth.
