Witches Betwixt - Episode 9 - Witchcraft & Politics
September 12, 2018 Witches Betwixt

Oh boy, we're getting political in this episode. Where do politics fit into the witch/pagan/queer community? Let's discuss.

 Show Notes:

 About the "Voltaire" quote:

The exact quote is "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

It's often misattributed to Voltaire, but it was actually written in a book called "The Friends of Voltaire." It's not a direct quote from Voltaire but rather the author's interpretation of Voltaire's thinking.

Also, cool fact, the book was written by S. G. Tallentyre, which was the pseudonym of Evelyn Beatrice Hall.

 Knowledge is power!

We found a link to the U.S. Military's list of religions that they recognize through this Patheos.com article:

Here's the separate link to the document:

Witchcraft specifically is not listed as a religion according to this document.

Witches Betwixt is a queer witchcraft podcast run by Jay, a transman and Scott, a gay cisgender man.

Through light-hearted conversation centered around serious topics, the two explore and discuss modern day witchcraft through a queer perspective.
