Oil and Environmental Pollution In Nigeria's Niger Delta
Show Notes

Soot, a mass of impure carbon particles resulting from the incomplete combustion of hydrocarbons has been plaguing Nigeria's oil-producing Niger Delta region for many years. This has led to a significant environmental disaster and public health emergency as a result of the processing of what's often referred to as “Black Gold”.

In this episode, we discuss the soot crisis and other environmental issues in the Niger Delta region.

We will also look at the social-economic and health impact on local communities and populations.

Hosted by Mariam Mustapha and Murtala Abdullahi
