When things don't go as planned, what tools are in your toolbox (Cookie Jar)? I like to think of these as a cookie jar, with each tool representing a cookie. You might think of cookies as things you have learned, situations you have overcome, or things you have conquered in the past. Your cookie jar serves as evidence that you are stronger than you feel and have accomplished some amazing things.

Are you ready to glitter your day? Let's get right to it. I'm the Samantha Parker, and here's your daily dose of glitter. Hey, welcome back to the podcast, glitter Besties. Do Do. Okay, so I wanna ask you guys, what are your tools that you use and the things that you employ when s. Stuff does start to feel a little sticky and I want us to think about this.

Okay, let's pretend like it's July of this year, 2023, and  maybe you set a goal to save so much money and now you've gotten to this point in July where you're like, I should be at this milestone, but I'm not there yet. Maybe you're like coming up a little short and there might be a little voice in your head that says, see, I told you, I told you you were irresponsible.

Or See, I told you it wasn't a good idea. Why do you even set goals? And so I want you to create your toolbox now, and this is just a super short exercise, but  create your toolbox so that when you get to those sticky places, you can open that toolbox and you can be like, no, remember when I did this?

And I slate it. That's the toolbox I want you to create is like a little memory bank. I've often. Heard it referred to as the cookie jar, like so you can stick your hand and pull out a cookie when shit doesn't feel so good. You wanna stay on track for your goals,

so you gotta create those tools and you gotta create that cookie. Okay. So I want you to think about something in your life that you've overcame that you were like, holy shit, I did that. Maybe you ran a marathon. I have not done that.  I can remember backpacking though, and making it like really far into the wilderness.

And when I got there I was like, holy shit. I did that because there was a point where I sat down and cried and was like, I'm not gonna make it. I can't do this. That's the stuff I want you to think about is when you had to really dig deep in that mental toughness to get it through, and I want you to fill your toolbox with it or fill your cookie jar with all these cookies and you can pull it out.

 The other day I was like in my back room and I was doing something and I just like sat down on the ground and I was like, wow, Sam, this is amazing. And I was thinking about the fact that my daughter's almost 18 years old, and it was wild because when I found out I was pregnant with her, I was 19.

And in that moment I was like, I have no idea how I'm gonna raise a child. And now I can look back and be like, oh my God, I did that.  I did it to the best of my ability and with the most love I could, and I've learned a lot along the way, but like, holy shit, I did that. And that to me, you guys is a fucking cookie in the cookie jar.

So I want you to like just make yourself a little list, a little mental bank of tools or cookies  for when you're working on a goal this year and it's not quite falling into place. All right. Glitter bestie. You know, if you're feeling called to, you can come over to Instagram.
