Launching “The Takeover Series” with Mindy “The Consultant”: Relentless Pursuit of Performance, Recovery, and a Multi-Channel Glow-Up Strategy

Samantha Parker introduces her new “Takeover Series” and interviews Mindy (“The Consultant”), who helped create the Samantha Parker Takeover an expanded, multi-channel marketing strategy combining social media, a radio buy on Mix 103.1, print, events, and a three-month partner package tied to a “Southern Utah’s biggest glow up giveaway.” Mindy shares her background building a successful photography business before a severe health crisis (hemorrhaging from a prolapsed uterus, surgeries, hysterectomy, 120-pound weight gain) led to selling her home and business and rebuilding through small daily steps and later high-profile leadership roles, including work on Lifetime Fitness’ pickleball rollout. She explains her philosophy of “relentless pursuit of performance” balanced by recovery, joy, and “don’t be reckless,”

Hey guys. Welcome back to the Samantha Parker show. The last time you listened was during my people to watch in 2026, so I have a new series dropping, it's the takeover series. And sitting down with me today is the lady who made the Samantha Parker takeover Possible. And if you're listening, you're like, what the hell is the takeover?

We'll get. So that, but it's gonna be really cool. I've got some cool guests lined up. So this is Mindy kicking it off. Mindy comma, the consultant or is it the consultant? Comma Mindy. The consultant. Okay, so no, Mindy? Nope. It's just the consultant period. Yeah. That's awesome. That's, yes.

Yeah. Okay. Mindy, tell me a little bit about you. Just tell me like your role, what you do. I know right now you just literally quit your job. Well, I'm actually moving Yeah. Or pivoting in my career. And so I yeah, I came down to St. George a couple years ago and have worked in the St. George community for a couple years and have just really seen a big need for a new way of doing business.

And so I am kind of hopping into that. Yeah. So being you're in a mastermind together, the Vine Club, we've had Kelly on the podcast. Kelly's amazing. Mm. And I love the Vine Masters, which is part of the Vine Clubs. I say Vine Club or Vine Masters. I don't know. But I really, really enjoyed it. I didn't know what I was gonna get out of it.

I kind of went into it without any expectations. I was like, I don't know this group of people. And you came in late because I remember Kelly messaging me about you. Mm. And being like, is it gonna bug you guys if like I pull someone else in? I was like, you, you just need to make the choices here. Of course not.

Yeah. But that was a really good choice to pull you in. Yeah, well I had so I was working for a fitness resort here in St. George and it was out in Ivans and it was wonderful. Everything was great there, but I felt very isolated because I had just moved here and I was working and I just thought, man, I really need to find my tribe.

And so I was introduced to the vine and, you know, once I did that, I loved it. And then what it really has propelled me to do is really open up the consultant. It is, the reason that I'm here today is that I really was able to see, I need to set my own financial goals and I have, you know, purpose here in life.

And so it's, that's really where it's evolved from. Yeah. So the first time that you and I kinda sat down and had a chat, we went to Street Eats, which is local here in St. George. It's so good. Yeah. Cindy and I went there the other day and the, the owner wanted to chat about working with us. Yeah. And he's like, okay, now we're done.

He's like, did you guys want lunch? And I was like, yeah, we'll sit in order. And he goes, no, no, no. I got this. Yeah. And he just kept bringing us out dish after dish after dish. Wow. It was so cool. Yeah. No, it's a great place. Yeah, it was really good. But we kind of share a little bit of a symbols. We kind of share a little bit of a similar story.

Yeah. And that's, I think why the Samantha Parker takeover really existed is because we share such a similar kind of comeback transformation. Right. Is, I mean, just to kind of give you a heads up on where did Samantha Parker takeover? I was looking at my quarter one revenue goals. I worked in media.

And was starting to look at it. And I know from my own journey, I really am focused on health and wellness. And so I really believe that when you have megaphones that you would need to use them for good. And so I started to talk to you a little bit about, you know, I had this idea that, you know, I wanna take this you know, vision and take a few partners and, and let's really spread awareness.

That transformation is really available at our. Fingertips. And so that's really where we kind of started is just talking about that and then it's how everything has evolved. Yeah. I know what it was is you're like, would you guys wanna partner up on like a giveaway? So remember I came up with the idea to do like Southern Utah's biggest glow up giveaway ever?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And that's where it started. Yeah. But then it turned into something super. Different. Yeah. But is one of the best thing that has words today are like, awesome. But it was one of the best things that's ever happened to my business. Like it's literally blown my mind. Well, and I would say that's really why I've moved into.

Opening up the consultant is that I've done that for multiple people and multiple businesses, is I can see how to leverage you in, in the marketplace based off your skills. So what I had seen is I knew and understood your story so it aligned quickly or with me, right? But it also, I could see that you had events, you had social media, we partnered in with the radio.

You also have done some print. And so really to take that multichannel. Approach was, is brilliant, right? It's how any marketing strategist would write it. So I was just able to see that. But that was your idea. Well, it was, but I would say that's what I see in businesses often is working with them is I'm like, it's so easy, but you can't see what's right in front of your face, you know?

And so I'm like, okay, let's just connect the dots. So I think you really had it as well. That's why collaboration, I think, is so critical in. In creation is that when you really are looking and leveraging each other to win it's great and it's helping me because I'm gonna launch the consultant through all of this.

So. Oh, and that's really what you do though. Okay. So you have something that you sent over, which I thought was awesome. So in here so you're preparing to, I'm just gonna read it for you guys. Okay. Which I don't normally do. So you're lucky. Okay. But I loved it. So you're preparing to launch your consultant work.

Can you walk us through the experience that shaped your philosophy of, and this is why I wanted to read it, you guys, relentless pursuit of performance. Like, that's so amazing. Like where does that come from and how does that like show up in what you wanna do? And you guys, if you're listening, I want you to stick through this with me because this Samantha Parker takeover is the biggest thing that's ever happened to me in my life, like my business life.

And so you guys are gonna wanna hear this whole thing. Okay. But okay. Relentless pursuit of performance. So it's actually very different than I think what most people would think it is. And so I'll start really where. Where it all began is I was walking into a grocery store. I was getting ready to fly into new Orleans to meet with potential investors.

We owned a very successful business that week we were appearing on in our industry. The cover of the magazine, we had scored a perfect score, which is very rare in our industry. So we were being, you know, spotlighted on our work. And then we What was your industry? So it was photography and we were really known for the highest shoot per sale.

So if you came into us, you know, it was a very expensive, nice session and product. So, but we had traveled through the us we were, you know, on this magazine cover, I'd been on tv, we lived, had. Lived on the 15th hole of golf course, had beautiful home, was working out with a trainer three days a week.

I looked like I had the perfect life, and I think most people would think, you know, here she is so successful, everything's going great. And I actually think I was thinking that as well. But I walked into the grocery store and I hemorrhaged and ended up in the er and I remember How did you hemorrhage? Just like a prolapsed uterus. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So I sorry. I was like, did you fall? I actually thought that I had broke a jar of pickles. 'cause I had picked up some pickles and I'm like, oh my gosh. And I looked down and there was blood everywhere and I ran into the bathroom. And Mark, you know, I called my husband.

He's like, should we call it, you know, the ambulance. And actually for women pe they can die from it. Yeah. It's, it's a very serious thing. Mm-hmm. So so I remember him you know, we got outta the hospital and I remember him bringing the cover, the magazine to me and he said, are you gonna give everything up?

And I said, I don't have a choice. I'm done. And I knew I was done and I had, you know, employees and this business, and my husband still was working and I had three kids and. But why do you think you were done just from that? Well there was definitely, I think the body keeps the score, so there was definitely signs going on that, you know, there was more to it.

Like my liver was enlarged, my gallbladder okay. You know, my kidneys were struggling. I was drinking water. It was completely going out. Within, you know, two minutes. So I was definitely, my body was shot and I think I was just working at a high level of performance. I was in this mindset of the old Mindy is this relentless pursuit of performance in my way of doing things.

And and I, I, yeah, my body just said we're done. And so I, I didn't really fully recover for I would say about three years. I had a couple surgeries through that. We ended up selling our home and our business. I remember we moved in with his parents and we rot. Our bed and the girl's bed and, and basically just some boxes.

We sold everything we had to, you know, to move forward. And so so from that I really went through I remember laying on the bed and thinking, is my life gonna be Judge Judy? You know, like, this is all I have left. And I started, by making my bed. That was kind of my first thing that I kind of started to heal from.

And I said, okay, I'm gonna go buy some spray, some linen spray, and I'm gonna make my bed every day. And that was my accomplishment. And you have to think from someone that appears on a magazine and you know, is making all of this money and, you know, super fit to someone that now all they're being able to do is make a bed.

It was really humbling for me and so anyway, so I I went through that you know, and really had to, you know, finish raising my kids. They were kind of getting into trouble as well, and so we had to get them kind of back in line. And then, you know, I swore that I'd never go back into business. I just said great.

So I had some really amazing opportunities to continue to still be excellent in my work. And I worked in some very high profile positions and went back, got my master's in business and swore I would never do business again. But you got a master's in business? I did. I did. Yeah. See the war you're, you also know, oh wait, and I gotta also say I put on 120 pounds.

That was also a big thing. That's insane, right? Yeah. Is my body. I remember when I started putting on the weight and I just was like, and I, I mean very faithful and I just was laying there in bed and I. You know, God, like, help me out here. Like this is, this is going bad. You know, I'm losing my home. I'm, you know, my weight's going crazy and I really felt just submit to the journey.

Y you're, you're, this will all heal in time, but submit to the journey. And so I did as well as I could. I remember Lane Bryant became my favorite store. I thought, well, if I'm gonna put all this weight on, I'm gonna look cute, right? So I would always have little polka dots and stuff. I just thought, you know, I'm gonna still stay confident in, in who I am.

But it was really humbling. I went to lifetime Fitness and I remember in yoga I couldn't really do anything. I, you know, I'd had a hysterectomy by now and, you know, just was still not well. And I remember the yoga instructor coming to me and saying, 'cause I, I never moved. She would say the most humble warrior is the one that can be in a class and never move.

And so I would always get there and I'd go every single night and I would just lay on the mat and think One day I'll be able to perform like these girls again. But today I'll just lay here and be humble. And that is very humbling. It is. And I remember what the instructor came to me one night or one day and she, you know, touched me and she said, are you okay?

And I got up and talked to her after and I said, I'm just trying to be the humble warrior is here. I am, you know, heavy and. Miserable and so sad. But I believe that if I can just hear the words of the yogi that, you know, I could heal from all of this and come back better. So anyway, so I, I mean, kind of, you know, went on and were, ended up working for health and wellness you know, some very high profile jobs in the industry.

But that transformation, that comeback that I'm continuing to go through is, it has really taught me something, and this is where I think you and I connect so well, is I think with sobriety is that you understand that recovery is so critical in performance, that taking time for yourself is critical to performance.

It's not just the push, there's a pullback. Right? And so as I've kind of went through this whole transformation, I was thinking as I was driving here today is I thought. I feel like I'm at the very at base camp looking at Everest again, and for me to go back into business. But the thing about sitting in Basecamp is, is you've done all the training. Oh, for sure. And I feel like, and that's the thing is it's a 360 view is I owned a very successful business and then I worked alongside very, very strong leaders. I, you know, I worked with $2 billion companies and I sat at very high level.

In the Csuite. Are we not name dropping? No, I was always one of 'em. The blank blank, blank. Yeah. Yeah. Let's just say I've worked for some very high profile jobs and that's why some of my Instagram accounts were taken down. 'cause I am so goofy that I'm like, I probably need to pull this down because I had high profile positions with the specific, I'm not even gonna say it.

Yeah, I'm not even gonna say it. No. So anyways. But I worked with. I saw amazing strategies done right? Amazing leadership. I, I mean, I will name drop here is I worked on a strategic team for Lifetime Fitness with their pickleball and was able to work alongside bar karate the CEO and. I mean, just to watch how they move and navigate, you know, in, in that is amazing.

Right? It's an amazing experience. See, you can do some wild numbers with pickleball too. Yeah. So we actually were one of the top in, in our industry and we're really known for that. So we took a program from zero to 2000 members within a year. And that I led that and then ended up getting put onto this strategic team to help lead the national.

You know, rollout of the program, which was their number one growth strategy for the fitness. So, but just pickleball, right? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Just checking. And I don't play pickleball. I actually got in a ski accident, blew my knee out during that whole thing. So I was in, had, you know, my ACL was in a huge brace for most of that.

But, you know, we got it done. So, but anyway, so I worked through all of that and worked with some really great people and experiences and so I feel like I have this really amazing view. I, as I look through it, I'm like, it was training me. I would almost say I feel like I have a PhD now, right? Is I've owned a business and then I've worked under really strong leaders and and so now I feel like I can really speak to what is, what did I notice, right?

What at, what did I see? I think the thing I learned the most was actually working under people. That's, I think was, you know, really what I've learned and, and so I can really speak to what growth looks like and you're going through it. Growth is very messy. It's extremely messy, but it's glorious in the end.

And so I think even this Samantha Parker, you said it's what did you say? It's proof of concept, I think is kind of what you're saying. Yes. And. You're gonna learn a lot through it, right? But you'll, if you're stay with it, you're gonna continue to refine and get better. And so I've seen that over and over in business and I've also seen how leaders are so blind by their people that work for them because they're, the people are fearful, so they're actually not speaking truth to them.

My problem was. I was always speaking truth, and so I was always getting beat up the whole time because not everyone wants you to tell the truth, right? Is they're just like, wait, if you tell the truth, I'm gonna get exposed. And I'm like, well, it's good. Let's all be transparent here and we'll figure out the root cause.

But anyways, so needless to say, I have five different times in the last couple months. I felt very, very strong. Like literally get out of bed and just to say. It's time to move forward. Yeah. You know, you're here at base camp and so I keep thinking, I'm here at the, you know, looking up at the peak and saying, I know what it feels like to go to the peak.

I know how that works. I was telling you I'm in a sprint. I'm not here to play small. And so today is the official day. I'm gonna have enough courage to truly. Walk out of an opportunity that was given to me, that's a big opportunity presented. But I'm gonna choose to go on my own. And that is very scary.

It's exciting to have to do. I know. And you have been such a light in it because I am still. A bit stuck, you know, in just saying, oh, I know what it's gonna take and, and so I think the end of my story hasn't yet come. It's coming. I'll learn more through this journey. But it is to be able to say. I'm going to put my hat in the ring.

And when you do that, there's tremendous things that that happen. So yeah, that's kind of where it's at. That's, well, it's exciting. Okay, so you, I wanna back up though, for people listening. So I wanna talk about the Samantha Parker takeover because it really was like your brainchild and I was like, yeah, sure.

Where do I sign? Yeah, yeah. But what's really cool about it is what we did, and this is where I think like your consulting comes in so well mm-hmm. Is we took what I was already doing social media. Yep. Yep. And then we did a radio by. Mm-hmm. So it's really fun right now, if you listen to the radio mix 1 0 3 1 here in St.

George, Utah, you know, people are like, oh my God, I heard you on the radio. And then I'm like, which version? Because there's like a We're in the morning show. Yeah. And it's like, this is the Samantha Parker takeover. Yeah. Or you're in the Samantha Parker studio. Yeah. So that's really, really cool. And it's been so great for like Yeah.

Just a bigger visibility strategy than just like pushing stuff out on my phone. Yeah. You know? But what we did that was really cool was we brought in partners. So we brought 'em in to have like the ultimate glow up. 'cause this is Q1, you know, so we've been talking about it for a couple of weeks, but it's like, how are you gonna have the best year of 2026?

So we brought in some strategic partners with it, which has been so fun. 'cause some of them were my clients and so they were able to bring this on too, and they're loving it. You know, because they have all these extra eyeballs. But what I thought was unique about this, and if you guys are listening and you run a business, you're gonna love this, is instead of me just going out.

And being like, sign with us, you know, work with us indefinitely, blah, blah, blah. We went out and we sold like, Hey, come do this with us. Mm-hmm. We're gonna mm-hmm. Take you for three months mm-hmm. On as a client. Mm-hmm. And we're gonna put you here, here, and even like, visibly in a local event as well.

Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And do these different pieces of media. So it's like, we created like this package and went out and sold it. And that's something I hadn't done before. Well, I believe in business is that you actually have all the tools in front of you and you just need to connect them. And sometimes you don't know those connections, right?

Mm-hmm. And so I've, you know, I've helped businesses do, you know, a million dollars, you know, in, in, you know, a few weeks just by connecting certain things together so I could really see that you had it. But the other thing that I. This is my relentless pursuit of performance is for you to really have a competitive edge.

As a social media curator, you have to ensure that your partners are also succeeding as well. Yes. It's so often in business that we're so competitive that we're looking at our own numbers that we're not. Understanding who really is our client. And so I think that's one of the things I've kind of held to you is saying, you know, let's pay attention to their performance.

And I would hope at the end of 12 weeks that everyone wins in it. And if everyone wins, you now have you. Performance way beyond what any other social media curator and we're seeing performance. So that's what's so great. Oh yeah. I'm getting tons of good feedback. Especially for people that have gone all in with it too.

Mm-hmm. You know, and that's the thing about social media though, is like you can't just build a business on social media. You have to be out there doing other things. This is just one part of your marketing plan. And so I'm seeing it with the people that are going out. And we can call them grassroots, whatever we wanna call them, but they're also marketing themselves in different ways.

This is like pushing it over the top of the hill. Oh, for sure. And I I mean, I love I love social media because it is a connecting point. And, and so we're definitely seeing that we're able to actually, you know, like in real time, go. Wow. Degree wellness just sat, you know, had someone come in. And so we're able to actually see this performance really working.

But I think where it for me is, is it starts with the heart is, I believe so strongly in the businesses that we partnered with, and you as well, because of your own story that I love to be able to make light in the world. And there's so much darkness. In fact, we were talking about this at the gym the other day, is we don't even know what's going on.

We're so focused on, you know, like. Did we get to the gym and, and we're actually running a half marathon in Vegas together. Oh my gosh, yes. Mindy's running the half marathon in Vegas with me for my 41st birthday. And, and we're renting a Porsche, right? Yes. We're gonna do a content shoot there. And so yeah, that's gonna be a lot of fun.

I just ordered a red for jacket, Samantha's pushing me over the top. I'm actually a very much an executive and very just sleek is probably what I'd say. And so for me to order a for a jacket, I'm like. Okay, can I return it? No. So anyways, but I'm excited. But I would just say going back to you know, this, the relentless pursuit of performance.

I'll have to share one little thing, but. To me is that we, and this is what I love about you, is you and I are working together and I mean, I think we both work tons of hours and we have so much fun doing it, and that to me is performance. Yeah, that's actually my next question is because. You know, people are like, hustle, and I'm, I'm such a hustler, you guys.

Yeah. But then we have this like shift that went online that was like, don't hustle, embrace your femininity, blah, blah, blah. Flow through life. And so where do you kind of find, I hate this word too, I hate the word balance. So I, I was like, I don't see, well, so I, can you find me a pseudonym for balance? I don't, I don't think there'll ever be balance.

It's like you have multiple plates in there, right? And that's creation is so messy. And you know, when you're painting a picture, you know, it's like, we'll balance it out. Well, that's at the end, right? Like at this point we're just throwing paint on the canvas. Right. And we're having a whole lot of fun.

Yeah. That to me is performance. What? Stability. Stability. Yeah. How do you find stability between hustle and work? I Equality? Is that what you said? I, well, let me just say this. Let me say equilibrium. How about equilibrium? I would say if, if it equals joy, then you're in balance. In harmony because it should, if you're not having fun doing it, you're doing it wrong.

If it's the grind, then then you're not doing it right. And that's why I really believe, I mean, so going back to heart is I just absolutely want. Good in the world. And so we were going to the gym and we were kind of talking about, I'm like, yeah, isn't, isn't something like going on in the news? I can't even remember what it was like.

Oh, the Epstein fi list? Yeah. You said something. All of the Epstein files had been dropped. And I'm like, wait. And you said that we were probably in it. I said, we're in it. I said, we're in it too, because everyone's in it. Yeah. And I'm like, okay, hey, what is that? And you know, I typically, it seems like 30 million files, so we'd have to be in it.

Yeah, probably. But I, so you have to know, I actually. Came to St. George as the, I was recruited in as the editor of the college newspaper. And so, you know, news, what was the year? 91? Okay. But you would have to know that I would stay up with the news, right? Mm-hmm. And now I'm like, I'm having so much fun living life Exactly.

That I am, you know, I'm going, you know, that to me is performance. And so I would just say. It's so interesting and I, I don't know that my words can articulate quite yet. You know where I'm at in really helping businesses move forward, except strategically, but what I want to ensure is have fun doing it.

And you are a. Thriving in it. Absolutely. We're working, I think, harder than we, you know, worked in a while, and yet we are having such a blast doing it. Well, a lot of it is, I have really good recovery. You know, I work, he's one of our partners for the takeover. He is one of our clients as well. But I, I work with Dr.

Steve of Kaizen Health and. He's really got me on a great path and then I go over to degree wellness. I do my recovery. I don't have a lot of brain fog or fatigue in that way that I know you start to get in your forties. Like I don't have that anymore. Mm-hmm. And when I do, I'm like, okay, what's going on here?

You know, I make sure I eats like I'm hustling, but I'm still taking care of myself. Yeah. I just have to give a couple of shout outs here on with Kaizen Health is we love Dr. Steve. Yes. So he we're big fans. You converted me over to him and I was talking to him, kind of telling him my story. And what I wanna do is I I mean, I'll be honest, I'm on the shot and I call it the sauce.

The sauce. And I wanna run a marathon this year. So we're doing a half that I really wanna do. Oh, I know. Yep. There you go. We're gonna do that too. Well, I wanna do to rib. I wanna do, and I wanna do i'll to rib. Okay. Okay, can I just be, yeah, I'll be in on room to rib. Yeah. Okay. So I'm working on that, but what I've gotta do is I really need to pull off another about 15 pounds I think, to really run well.

'cause I just did a half and my my, IT pan got tight. That's what I went to. Dr. Steven said, and I said, Hey, like, I don't know why, like, I can't run faster. It's just everything's hurting so much. And he was like, you know, I'm not. Coming at you. He is like, but it's a simple math problem. Yeah. He's like, I think if we cut 30 pounds, you'll feel so good running.

Yeah. Well, here's what he said is we were talking about, I said, you know, I'd really like to pull off you know, the 15 pounds. And he said, oh, Mindy, don't worry. I ran iron Man or something. And he is like, and I ran and there was all these. Heavy people around me. And I said, okay. But I, I like, don't wanna be reckless, right.

I wanna perform, but I don't wanna be reckless. Yeah. You don't want your IT band to hurt. I I don't wanna blow my knee out again. Yeah. My IT band hurt so bad last year. I was constantly in appointments for it. Yeah. So he, and he just, he stepped back and he said, I think you and I think a lot alike is don't be reckless.

And so. Again, you know, if we were to talk about, you know, relentless pursuit of performance is if you're gonna perform, don't be reckless. Mm-hmm. Right? Be wise in your performance and recover. So anyways, but I am lower than I've ever been 'cause I went to Dr. Steve, so we, he's been able to kick that off.

And then I was over it. I mean, been making you guys, you watched this been making while we're doing this math Parker takeover, which you've told me as well, is. All this amazing, beautiful, bright things are happening in my life. And there's also these really hard, hard things going on. And my, my little puppy of 12 years passed away this week.

I mean, it's just those little things that you're like, oh my goodness. So I am at degree and I got a iv. Mm-hmm. And then I went and sat in the sauna, and I laid in the sauna and just cried. Just cried and cried, and cried. And I think in the past, my old self would be like. I'm not ever doing that. Like I'm not going to this song that's a waste of my money.

That's, I wouldn't be doing this. And so I really had to I had to just, you know, I have to stop and go, hold on. I need to be able to recover so that I can perform. So I would say, you know, that's kind of the part. So I, yeah, just had to give a shout out to those two partners. I know they're awesome. And then we go get our spray tans at Golo.

And I, again, I mean this is the fun part, right? These are all our takeover partners. They are, this is kind of our podcast introducing our takeover. Yes. Because they're, each of them is gonna tell their story. Yes. Dr. Sef has such a cool story, why he became a doctor and why he left corporate medicine. Yeah.

And then then we go to care, me and yeah, we talk about money, and then we go to Janelle to talk about performance. It's like the best group. Well, let me, yeah. And we both, we've used them all. In fact, Karen's the one that I actually know I'm gonna move into next. But Becky, I just write down Cindy, I wanted to tell her who I love is she's really one of my favorite first clients that I worked with, with with Golo.

Yeah. Spray Tans best spray Tans in town, you guys. Oh, I just love her and she's such a fierce competitor and so I love the brand. I love Becky, and it's been fun to watch her in her journey and so that, that's been super fun. And we all know that we need a tan to fill. Great. Right. I, yeah. I am pasty white.

Yeah. I am in the dark. Well, there's nothing better than, when can I say this? When you get naked and you're brown. Always say lot, lots of things on the podcast is that she actually said that she doesn't take anything off. So there we go. No, I have an explicit rating, but you're, I know you won't say anything explicit, but I do have an e rating.

Okay. Okay. Good. Is it EN? But there's nothing better to be like, okay. You know, I might be a little old, but I look, I look great with this rayan, so I, that's fun. Oh yeah. Yeah. I've been wearing the bottoms though, so that we can take pictures from social media. Yeah. Medium social media. Yeah. And it cracks me up because of the line.

The line. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, so they're great. And then Janelle, actually, this is kind of a fun little thing about her. She actually coached me through a couple hard, Janelle Dublin. Yeah. A couple hard negotiations that I've been working on and. She did a fun thing for me, and there's actually two things that I thought.

She said, Mindy, if you were to take who you think you like, who's the person you could see yourself being? And I told you actually who it was. You said, oh, I, I love that for you, but is Michelle Obama? And I don't, I'm not really political. You did tell me at the gym that yesterday. And I was like, I love that for you, but I'm not political.

It's not that she's a democrat or, or whatever else. It's, that's not it. Yeah. It's that. I feel like I love that she was like. First lady that would be wearing a strapless dress and she just didn't give, she give, kiss the boundaries and it was a rat's ass about, it was lovely. Anything, right? Yeah. She just, she was so classy, showed up for who she was.

She said what? She thought she was a good mom, so I love that about her. And so that I just was telling, so Janelle kind of helped me do that. So sometimes when I was kind of feeling low or sad, she would say. All right. Put your Michelle on. And I could just mentally I'd be like, you're right. And I could show up as that person.

Yeah. I'm gonna show up today. I, I'm not gonna go into everything, but I'm gonna show up and do something harder in my career than I've ever done for myself, ever. And it's really being able to say, today's the day that I'm launching the consultant. Can you, and I'm making the cur or I'm taking the step to do that.

Can you take yourself out to lunch after you do it? Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah. Just take yourself out to lunch and be like, I did that. My husband actually buy a fat steak. He hugged me. He hugged me I this morning and he just whispered in my ear, have courage, be brave. And you know, for me, you know, it is, it's, it's coming back, you know, it's getting back on a horse and for most people.

It'd be fine, but I nearly lost my life in business. Right. And so it's going back to Mount Everest and saying. I'm gonna conquer this hill again. I know I'm capable of climbing that. I'm also know I'm capable of losing my life in it the way I am, and so I have to be able to play a different game. And that is in the recovery.

It's, you know, to be able to make sure that I'm having joy in it. So, you know, that might look a little bit different, but I'm grateful. So, I wanna go back to Janelle though on one other thing that she said that I. I have, I've kept in there. She said that we all have this really strong part about us, but there if, if we lean too hard into, it becomes our shadow.

And one of my really big strengths is a connector. And, but she said when you become too strong in it, you connect too, too much. And that, I believe is the very thing that I'm currently struggling right now to be able to let go. My mom, my mom's a therapist. Both my parents are therapists. Well, and that's, we actually have a therapist in the Samantha Parker takeover as well.

Oh yeah. Jenny from men counseling men with a D. Yes. And she doesn't it soap? Yes. Okay. She's probably her, between her and Carrie, they're my next right. Yeah. That I need to do because she's my daughter goes 'cause she has like a practice, you know, it's not just her. But my daughter goes to Mend and it's like such a beautiful space.

See how much we're like. I mean as we talk we can just sew like, and therapy and go glow and I mean all of the, it's, it's, we are right. Therapy. Yes. What else can you ask for? This is performance and a rented Porsche. I am so excited about that. PORs. So we're going to Vegas to do a content shoot. And it's fun too.

'cause we just combined all the things me and my team were. We were already going for my 40th first birthday and to run the half marathon. And you were like, I'm gonna sign up and run the half marathon. Yeah. And then all of a sudden I was like, oh, we actually hired a client who's gonna shoot with us. And then I was like, do you wanna shoot with us?

Yeah. So now we're like in on this big Vegas thing and then Mindy's like, oh, and I rented a Porsche. Yeah. Well, and I got these, you can't really see 'em, but I got these really cool, cool. Nike. Can I stand up? Yeah. And show 'em. Okay. I, I don't know if you can see, but anyways, I got these Really Nike, if you're pants, you're, you cannot see.

Okay, well darn it. Well anyways, but then I got this really cool Nike shirt that has one sleeve on it. I saw that And I'm. I'm like, well, yeah, gotta look kind of classy, right? Yeah. And then a fur coat. So, but I wanna go back to Janelle. I, I, oh yeah, sorry. My parents, but my, so I was calling, I called my mom last night 'cause my mom is my greatest coach and she has to gimme free therapy all the time.

And I said, mom. I'm gonna move forward. And she said, well, Mindy, just know this. You can't hang on and move forward at the same time. So if you are trying to hang onto the Dane Cliff and trying to jump off it, it's not gonna work. You need to jump. So in the Mastermind, Chelsea, who I will always blame for everything.

She also told me, she said, you need to jump out of the plane and you're gonna fill the G-Force and they're gonna be intense and they're gonna be intenses for a while. And she said, but you have to keep going. And every time I fill the G-Force, I'm like, oh, Chelsea. Oh. I even told her the other day, I said, you are in big trouble.

'cause I'm feeling in big time. But anyway, so yeah, just kind of going back to you know, if we wanna move forward, if we wanna glow up, if we really want this transformation, what's holding us back? What are we continuing to hold onto and how can we let go of that so we can move forward? And today it's so interesting that we're here.

I actually think I messaged you and just said. Hey, Samantha, I'm really raw. Like I cried all through the night because I'm, I'm making this change that's really scary for me. And you know, and I just thought, I, I, you know, I don't even know what's gonna come this podcast 'cause I know I'm very raw. It's very real of what I'm gonna go through.

I. But I'm very committed to, to changing and transforming. I think you've really helped inspire that, right? Is as we're kind of going through these 12 weeks, I've thought to myself, what am I gonna look like at the end of this? Oh, we're gonna do the suburb club, right? Uhhuh, Samantha's Suburb Club. And in some ways I put my in my, I've.

Put it on a calendar is that's when I'm gonna truly launch my, the consultant. And so I've just kind of thought, okay, I have to have my website up and get all of these pieces together. And so I have to make the hard decisions, right, to make sure that I let go of things so that I can move forward. Ooh, that is heavy.

It is heavy. Heavy, but also it's heavier to stay. It's heavy. You know what? And here's the thing. I love that I lost 120 pounds. I love that because imagine how much baggage I let go. Mm-hmm. It's not weight. It's literal, emotional, mental weight that I've let go and that is so much weight. It is. And so now when I look at what you're saying, Ooh, that's heavy.

And I'm like, you know what that means is that I'm gonna take off a weighted vest. Mm-hmm. And I'm going to run, I mean, imagine that it's, I've carried this heavy, heavy weight and now I'm gonna let go of it. You would think I'm gonna run, you know, faster and better and perform well. Just like I'm trying to do that in my physical body.

I've gotta do that mentally and emotionally as well. What's her time at? Oh, at 40. Okay. Perfect. I could tell you we were looking at me, I was like, are we done? She was timing me. Oh. Okay. Before we end this podcast, Mindy, I just wanna give you a little shout out, okay? Okay. Throwing some glitter on you.

Okay. You were like, Hey, let's do this, this, and this. And I literally doubled my income last month. Mm. And so I want you to know that like the consultant, like this is the real deal because sometimes you get in, you know, there's a lot of business coaches online and they're pretty airy fairy. Mm-hmm. But I was like, oh, she knows what she's doing.

Mm-hmm. And just like the little bit. I feel like it's been a lot of things. It's not a little, but the attention that you've given me and the energy and the consulting you've given me has been insanely a game changer. Well, I appreciate that and I, what I'm actually, I, I'll roll everything out. I'm actually gonna be very real, so I haven't been on social media for 10 years and so, but she is now.

Ha ha. I, I did. Yeah. I went ahead and said, okay, I am gonna do this. It's a very vulnerable experience for me. It's, I, it's, I don't know what it is, but I'm gonna let people come along and open that journey up to be able to say, you know, the other day I just got on for my first post and said, I was thinking about how am I gonna announce that I'm actually gonna get on social media and do a new business?

And, and then I thought, I just have to start now. I just have to get on and be like, Hey. Mm-hmm. And so I, you know, it's kind of the same thing, but the one thing that I am. Very certain I will be doing is I'll only take on a certain amount of clients. I really that, that attention to detail is really who I am, and I don't wanna take on just a ton of them.

I also wanna be able to vet them. So I would want to be able to say, you know, let me, let me look at you for, you know, two to three weeks and see if you're really gonna be a right fit, because I have to see where the connections are. To be able to put them together to help you perform. And if those connections aren't in play yet, it's gonna be too difficult to try to make performance work.

So I really am going to be looking. So if you know of any Right, that would be, I mean, look at, it's a creation is really, it's like, okay, I have all of these pieces together. Who's gonna architect them and put 'em together. And so it's really saying, you know, if you know people that have been in business for several years and are really ready to grow, is let me know.

And then I certainly can vet them. I really am hoping May 1st is when I start to take on, you know, my first at least one or two clients may, it's like February 5th. I know, but I'm also, I want all my contracts. I mean, I just got off the, the phone with the attorney. Yeah. Like I, I'm not You're doing this the right way.

I do, yeah. I want the foundation. Right. And so, you know, I, I just think you're gonna be surprised and then you're gonna owe me a text apology. You were right. It wasn't, well, there's, it wasn't as long as I thought. Yeah. And here's the other thing that I know about you, that I absolutely. Absolutely know about you in this is there is some divine intervention in it because there's been such dark, I think, for both of us, right.

In this is we both had experienced some hard things and your grandma passed away. Oh, I know. We're like starting this takeover and I'm like, oh, I'm gonna be on the radio today, but I'm speaking at my grandma's funeral The first day. Yes, it was the first day. Yeah. Yeah. The first day my grandma dying was like so rough.

Yeah. But can you tell about the, the dollar. Oh yeah, totally. I have a ring on today too. I've been wearing it. My grandma was like my, she was my bestie. In fact, my mom got home. They just finished cleaning out her house, you know. Mm. And we gotta go over, my mom's got you know, her stuff that we're supposed to ring to our house in a trailer.

Wow. But I've had my grandma's China for a while. This is kind of cool. So I have now I'll have her China cabinet with the rest of her China. And I'm just, I'm kind of excited to put it in my house. Mm. I feel like an old lady. Mm. I'm like, this is my China cabinet. And whenever you come over, you're gonna have to Yeah.

Trust me, you'll get a China cabinet tour. Oh, good, good. Because I'm just, my grandma was the most amazing person. Yeah. The people who got up and spoke at her funeral and the things they said, it was like, wow, this was such an amazing person. Yeah. No, it's been hard. I wish and I see that in you. Yeah. I wish I could just have like one more.

You know, sit down. Mm-hmm. I wish I could just get in bed with her one more time and Yap. Yeah. She was really, I mean, she was really lucid all the way until the end and that was just so great to get, to be able. To talk to her, you know, fully there. So we had some really great talks. And don't you think she's probably so proud of you, she is going through this?

Yeah. My grandma owned a business for you guys listening. My grandma was amazing. And I said this at the funeral, I said, my grandma encouraged me to have secret bank accounts and told me to always make my own bunny. She's like, the men don't know what they're doing, which isn't always the best thing, but she saved me so many times.

Aw, that's awesome. So yeah, so anyways. My grandma I was with her New Year's Eve and that was the day we put her on hospice. And then she actually died the next week. So on New Year's Eve she was like, tell me your goals for this year. Like, she just kept wanting to hear about my life. She's like, tell me more about your life.

And I'd be like, well, let me let you sleep. And she's like, why do I wanna sleep? You know? And so I was telling her my goals and one of my goals this year is for us to, I think we can make one point. Three, 6 million. It's funny when people are like, why, why that number? And I'm like, I showed Cindy. She's like, where are you getting this number?

And I'm like, it's a simple, it's a very simple math problem. And I show it to people and they're like, oh, you can do that. That's like really easy. And I'm like, I know. I know I can. So I told my grandma that and I told her, I've gotta buy a new car this year. I'm gonna get a Jeep Wagoner. And then I'm also gonna get my tummy tuck, but I did not mention that to her.

She would've been all for it though, to be honest. Yeah, yeah. And so she's like, oh my gosh, I really think you can do that. You know? And I was like, yeah, I totally think I can too. So anyways, the next morning I come down to like, help her up and we're sitting on the couch and she goes, oh, in the middle of the night I was up and I know what you need to do.

And I was like, for what? You know, I'm like, it. I mean, I knew she was dying, so we were like, sure, I just was going with anything she said and she's like, I need you to get my money. And she for the last year or two, always had like this cash envelope with like $20 bills in it. 'cause she 20 for gas, 20 for like McDo, go get me McDonald's.

Like she likes to just have the cash, you know. And my family was like, just take a 20 if she offers you a 20. So she's like, I need you to get it. And find it. So I'm like rooting through her drawers, rooting through the China cabinet. My sister comes down and she's like, what are you doing? And my grandma's like, I need Sam to find my money.

So eventually we acquire the envelope of cash. I know this is a long story you guys, but that's so cute. She takes out a $20 bill and she says, I want you to put it in your wallet, but do not spend this. And every time you open your wallet, you're gonna know that I'm the one helping you. For your first million dollar a year, but I'm not gonna be here to see it, but I want you to know that I'm here with you.

And she goes, do not spend it. And I'm like, oh my gosh. You know? Yeah. And I do, I have it zipped away and January blew my mind. And it's the 1st of February and I'm like, well, what's this month gonna do? I've already been on the cover of a magazine. Well, there's this month, there's, there's nothing better I think for me.

And, and this is where my connection goes. But there's nothing better. If you were to ask me what my greatest joy in life is, is I'm not a fierce competitor. I'm a fierce collaborator, and that's my strength is I'm a fierce connector. And so I love to see people win. And so if you make that million dollars.

1.36. That is my greatest joy. Now I better be right behind you on that one. Oh, I'm one of those people that I'm like, you know, as you have to, it takes a certain type of person to rise with you because you do a hundred percent get jealousy runs deep. And to see it in grown women, you're like, oh, wow. I didn't realize.

And I'm sure I've done the same thing. Yeah. You know, but it, I'm one of those people that I'm like, well, why can't you come to, yeah. Well, and for me it's so interesting because of my mindset now is I understand that, you know, you actually might be, you know, I don't know how many camps are there. Camps, do you know?

In Everest? I mean base camp and, oh, we're at like level two. Okay. I know, right? But you're, I know you're further on than me, so, yeah, we've been hiking for a minute, so I know that. But you have so much in your brain, Wendy. I know. I know. But I also know, so I think that's actually what helps us be so healthy together, is that I'm like.

You know, I'm, you're so good about, keep going, keep going. And I'm over here going, I know, but I, I'm laying the cement like the foundation, right? Like I'm, I've gotta make sure my contracts are clean and, you know, I've gotta make sure all of this is out. But what you helped me do is, but you've got this, you've got this.

And that's what helps drive me. And then what I can do on the, in the meantime is be like, because I don't have everything put together, I can be like, okay, just do this, do do, do, do, do. Because I know how to do it. I just now have to get in my methodologies and my contracts and just the part of business that's kind of boring for all of us to get in place so that I, you know, once I move forward that they're like, oh, she's legit.

That stuff is boring. You know, sending out the email. I'm like, Hey, pay your invoice, please. Yeah. Hey, da, da, da. You know, like that's the stuff of business. That's fun because that's how you make the money, but you also have to make sure you deliver for people. Yeah. So yeah, so I think if I were to and which I hope to be is be the consultant for you, is to be able to watch you and hit that goal, there would be no greater joy in my life.

To see that. I was talking to my friend in Canada this morning and I'm like, it's Mindy. She like brokers all my media deals and Well, she does all my like consulting stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And Brenda was like, yeah, cool. Yeah, yeah, no, I, yeah, I absolutely love it. And I, you know, I just, there's so, I mean, I've done this strategy not just with media, but there's other tactics that we can use.

You know, I was thinking, we're, you know, gonna hopefully do quarter two. And I was like, we can go the Samantha Parker. I'm trying to sign for the year. I know, but I was thinking Samantha Parker goes country. Oh yeah. Like do something that's kind of fun, you know, that we have. Oh, absolutely. You know, like we get I don't know what IFA and Ace Hardware and IFA, I don't know.

That was joke. I mean, why not? You know, I have no idea what we'll do. Why not? But you know, just have some fun with. With this, right? Mm-hmm. Is, is how do we do that? And so just so fun, so fun. I mean, we've just had such a fun, fun time doing it. I just now have to figure out how to, how to get it all put together so I can be truly the consultant that I know I am.

Okay. Well if you guys wanna reach Mindy, you can always reach out to me though. Samantha Parker, what's your Instagram handle? The consultant is calling, the consultant is calling Answer yes. And but what I would say is if they reach out to you, what I will be doing between now and then is I'll actually be vetting businesses.

I'm really hoping to stay on with you and to continue to support. Well, who else gonna broker all these media details? I know. Well, and also I, yeah, I have the inner workings. I think we kind of know what's gonna happen and I can see, you know, both of us can, it's easy, but, is I wanna vet a couple partners, you know, for May and to really say, you know, are they really ones that we're gonna align well with?

So if there's anyone that's listening that's like, Hey, I would love to try this out. It's not just media deals, right? Oh yeah. It's really a strategy to put some fuel and gasoline on. We've business. Yeah, we've been pushing like. Clients to these businesses. Yeah. And people walking in their doors and making purchases and signing up with them.

It's been huge. It's like a witch turned on a faucet. Well, and that's the great part, is I come from south Jordan, and so all of my Instagram followers, or actually most of them are clients, old clients of ours. And so I'm actually excited to get on there and kind of start to promote St. George is, I'm like, man, come down and be a part of this business.

'cause I really believe there's some cool businesses here in St. George. I love St. George. It's my favorite. I know. It's, it's awesome. All right guys. Thank you so much for listening to this Samantha Parker show. We'll be back with our takeover. We'll have six takeover guests. That doesn't include Mindy. So there will be seven episodes in this series and you guys don't wanna miss a single one.

Thanks, Mindy. Okay, thank you.
