Hi, I'm Melody and I'm Candy and you're listening to Quarks, bumps and Bruises and a partridge in a pear tree. That was terrible because I have a little cold going on. Absolutely terrible, but that's all you get. Y'all, that's all you get. So we're glad you're with us here on the latest episode of Quarks, bumps and Bruises and it's not only Melody and Candy. But who Candy?

0:00:30 - Candi

We got a bruise in here with us today.

0:00:32 - Melody

Yeah, we did a quark and a bump for quite a while. So welcome Bruise.

0:00:36 - Parker Webb

Well, thank you, parker Bruise Webb, that's my name there.

0:00:40 - Candi

Parker Webb of Guilford that you've heard. Maybe we can sneak in a song here during this podcast so you guys can catch them out, or catch them out, what'd I say?

0:00:48 - Parker Webb

Check them out. I don't know what that means but Check them out. Yeah, yeah, catch them out, that's a new phrase we need to copyright that.

0:00:56 - Melody

For real. So the reason I sang at the beginning and I won't do it again, I promise I want to talk about a parktridge in a pear tree, along with some other things. Is this a 12 Days of Christmas? Yes, we're going to talk about the 12 Days of Christmas, parker. Did you know that a parktridge in a pear tree costs $210.18 in today's time Good gracious. It's not changed since last year at all, even with inflation.

0:01:20 - Candi

Where do you just go buy those?

0:01:22 - Parker Webb

Well, amazon, my crowd needs to be eating more pears. They'll go instead of all the groceries that have gone out the roof.

0:01:29 - Melody

Well, we got to move on to two turtle dubs, right. So two turtle dubs, $450 for two turtle dubs. They've increased more than any other of the 12 Days of Christmas, up 50% from last year, and you still got 10 more to go, 10 more days.

0:01:46 - Candi

Okay, y'all know what. The third thing is Three frittchins. Good job y'all. Okay, do you know how much those cost A piece? Or all together? All together, three frittchins, which I think this is ridiculous.

0:01:56 - Parker Webb

I don't even know what a frittchin is.

0:01:58 - Candi

I guess you got to go to France, and then they go wee wee.

0:02:02 - Parker Webb

Have little hats caught up to the side. Berets yeah.

0:02:06 - Candi

Okay, well, those cost three of those together $210. Wow, up 15% from last year. Okay, the next one four Colling birds.

0:02:16 - Melody

I've always wondered who are they calling?

0:02:20 - Parker Webb

So four calling birds? I mean you know who are they calling Right Deer crossings? How do the deers know that's where they're supposed to cross the road? I know I know, I can't eat.

0:02:30 - Melody

we'll sing this together Five. What's the cost?

0:02:33 - Candi

Oh, Four calling birds $599.

0:02:37 - Melody

They better be calling somebody in poor, but honestly they're not even calling.

0:02:41 - Parker Webb

Collin. I've never even heard outside of this song.

0:02:43 - Candi

I haven't either.

0:02:44 - Parker Webb

I know this one Three.

0:02:45 - Candi

Okay, five golden rings, nine hundred and forty-five dollars. Y'all know the price. No, now see, it depends on how much.

0:02:53 - Parker Webb

The price of gold rings.

0:02:56 - Melody

Yeah, and if you got a dollar trade.

0:02:57 - Parker Webb

they're going to be a little cheaper. I would think gold is pretty stout yeah.

0:03:00 - Melody

All right, six Gaze.

0:03:02 - Candi

Gaze of laying. Okay, so does that mean they're laying eggs or they're just laying? Do they cost?

0:03:08 - Parker Webb

more. Pre or post laying eggs Do the eggs cost more?

0:03:13 - Melody

Get, in our view, die, and partners just keep going.

0:03:17 - Parker Webb

Hey, but that is the question Does the value go up? It surely would.

0:03:21 - Candi

The value goes up as they lay a dollar, are they laying eggs or though, or are they just laying down? Honestly, a laying could be a laying in the floor.

0:03:32 - Parker Webb

Feetless, legless ducks, and they just sit there.

0:03:37 - Candi

Well, they're five hundred and seventy dollars have mercy If you want to go get those on Amazon they become a goose farmer. Prime days, you can get them cheaper. Number seven any guesses to what those are? Past and new with some swans? Yeah, if I don't say it, I can't, I don't remember.

0:03:53 - Melody

I think this one's swim, don't they?

0:03:55 - Candi

Yes, seven swans are swimming.

0:03:57 - Parker Webb

There again. Do they cost more because they're swimming or as opposed to walking swans?

0:04:04 - Melody

All I know is they cost $13,125. If you want seven swans, then swim.

0:04:11 - Parker Webb

Y'all, we need to get a duck goose hen farm.

0:04:14 - Melody

You know that's the most expensive item on the 12 days of Christmas are the seven swans.

0:04:19 - Parker Webb

I can believe that they seem rare.

0:04:21 - Melody

Gorgeous. Well, we're going to move on because we got to get to the aid you can google it if you can even buy swans and apparently you can here.

0:04:28 - Parker Webb

I'm sure it has to be a controlled situation. They just seem like they would be hard to maintain and contain.

0:04:34 - Melody

Anyways, Well, let's move on to eight maids, because they're a milking.

0:04:39 - Candi

Oh, they're only $58. No, they're a little cheap For real.

0:04:45 - Melody

All right, nine ladies dancing.

0:04:47 - Parker Webb

I got none on that there again.

0:04:50 - Melody

I don't think we even know how much those cost. Right, right, 10 lords are leaping Now where are you leaping to and from? It's like skipping, I don't know.

0:05:03 - Parker Webb

And lords, does that mean that's mail? Yes, I guess, gentlemen.

0:05:07 - Melody

Because, if it was not, it'd be a lordette.

0:05:09 - Parker Webb

Lordette, lordess, lordess, lordess.

0:05:13 - Melody

Ah, 11 papers piping. Now. That's just basically. You're going to hire a musician, right, Right?

0:05:19 - Parker Webb

right and I know what those cost. They have their prices dropped since.

0:05:25 - Melody

COVID yeah, big time, because they can't find any work anymore.

0:05:27 - Parker Webb

They can't find any work. Nobody wants them.

0:05:29 - Melody

All right and same with the drummers drummin'. 12 of them. 12 of them. 12 drummers drummin'. Same thing, Exactly. It's harder to find a paper pipin' or a drummer drummin'.

0:05:39 - Parker Webb

Well, a good drummer is hard to find. You can find just. You know this working in the church world as well. In the music church world it's tough to find a good drummer nowadays. You know that can play with sensitivity. So I would say a drummer's harder to find. Well, that little drummer boy did kind of pretty good gig, didn't he? He did, he did. Now I want to know what child would have been content through somebody beating on a snare drum right next to him.

0:06:05 - Melody

I never really understood that song too much I know it.

0:06:09 - Parker Webb

I've always wondered about that there again, now that I'm a daddy. If somebody, a little kid, had walked into my child's room and started beating on a drum, I was like whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa what are you doing? We gotta sleep tonight.

0:06:20 - Melody

We can't really end the podcast talking about all this if we don't play the song. Right, that's?

0:06:24 - Candi

right.

0:06:24 - Melody

All right, y'all, here we go the 12 Days of Christmas. It's expensive. By the way, In fact, if you add all of that up, if you're gonna buy all of those things for your significant other, it's gonna cost you $16,168.14. Good gracious and do they really want it. Who would not want some swans to swimmin'?

0:06:43 - Parker Webb

Yeah, that's true, hands of land, hands of land. No, it's not golden rings, I'll take. I'll take that my wife would be happy as a lark or a swan. A swan.
