Which One Would You Choose? A Joy-Filled Game of Favorites with Brendan

The Morning JoyRide Season 4 Episode 1

Melody’s back—and to ease into things, she’s joined by guest Brendan for a fun round of “If You Had to Choose Just One…” From fast food to favorite hymns, the two go back and forth picking their top picks and laughing through their answers. It’s fast, lighthearted, and full of the quirks and warmth you’ve come to love. So… which one would you choose?

Speaker 1:

hey, it's melody here with you on this episode of quirks, bumps and bruises, but I have brendan beavers in here along with me, hello you hear brendan each and every weekday night from 7 until 11 that's right and uh. So you're in here early today and I want to play a game with you let's do it it's called. You can only pick one. You Can Only Pick One. I'm going to give you some questions. Okay, we talked last week I did on my show about French fries, because it was National French Fry Day.

Speaker 1:

Yes, it was One day, and so I'm going to ask you what type of potato would you save? If you could only save one, would it be French fries from McDonald's, curly fries from wherever? I think about Arby's Potato smiles. Have you ever seen their little round potatoes and their smiling face.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like the Michelinies Poppin' Chicken there you go, you get those as a kid. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Or waffle fries from Chick-fil-A.

Speaker 2:

Okay. So how are we saving these? Are we saving them off a cliff?

Speaker 1:

these. Are we saving them like off a cliff? Are we saving them for later? You're saving them, and it is the type of potato that you will have to eat the rest of your life arby's curly fries. Really, it's gotta be well, I will tell you that I did some statistics about that for the friday fun fact, and uh, mcdonald's fries came in first, really, but curly fries was a very close second. So there you go. So this question is definitely for you, brendan. All right, which childhood snack would you save?

Speaker 2:

Oh no.

Speaker 1:

So every time I say, would you save? It means that that is what you have to eat forever.

Speaker 2:

Okay, all right, I got it.

Speaker 1:

The other three that you don't choose are going away.

Speaker 2:

So I'm not saving snacks off the side of the cliff, got it? So I'm not saving snacks off the side of the cliff.

Speaker 1:

Got it. Got it Exactly, All right. Number one Cosmic Brownies.

Speaker 2:

Oh boy.

Speaker 1:

That's number one. Number two a bag of the hot fries. No. Number three Fruit Gushers.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

Or number four Dunkaroos.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I'm saving Cosmic Brownies. Oh, I figured that.

Speaker 1:

That was easy. I figured that that was easy. I figured that, all right, this one is a good one for you, brendan. Which of these two movie?

Speaker 2:

series would you save.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Both of these have several episodes of movies that have followed through the years toy story you got a friend in me.

Speaker 2:

Or star wars oh no oh no, all right, so hot take, I'm picking toy story. The reason why wow is because toy story was such a big influence in my childhood watching the first one, second one, even the third one now I know there's a fifth one coming out soon.

Speaker 2:

I'm actually kind of excited to see that, because it's more of like a modern style, like they're battling technology star wars to me. I just feel like I I lost interest after the new remakes may I don't know, it's just after they made the prequels from the fourth, fifth and sixth one. That was, it's all confusing I don't know.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I have no clue what you're talking about exactly me, me neither. So I'm going to give you another one.

Speaker 2:

All right.

Speaker 1:

We started a while ago with what French fries would you save? And you were going to save the curly fries. So I'm going to ask you now another food question which fast food restaurant would you save? Oh man Are you ready?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm ready, let's do it McDonald's, okay.

Speaker 1:

Wendy's Subway or Starbucks.

Speaker 2:

So I'm taking away Starbucks and Subway, because I mean Starbucks is known for coffee. They don't really necessarily have fast food. So, take that one out Subway. Eh, you know, $5 footlongs, not even $5 anymore. So anyways.

Speaker 1:

I got to save Wendy's.

Speaker 2:

Now Wendy's is so, so good. Now let me tell you this McDonald's is really good, with a lot of variety, especially for their breakfast, but Wendy's is very underrated. Baconator, the Biggie bag, you know the meals that you needed for college when you only had that 10 bucks in your pocket.

Speaker 1:

And you didn't want ramen noodles one more day, that's right. All right, I would choose McDonald's. Ok, I just love. I love their fries, I love their caramel frappe thingies, I love those.

Speaker 2:

Wrap a cappuccino.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, whatever that is, that would be me All right. What about this one? Okay, which modern appliance would you save? Now, you, the other three, you got to say I can't ever use them again. I'm going to save this one.

Speaker 2:

This is okay.

Speaker 1:

Dishwasher, a washer and a dryer, a vacuum cleaner or a microwave. Out of those four, what are you going to save? Dishwasher microwave Washer and dryer.

Speaker 2:

Washer and dryer Vacuum. Oh, oh no. Oh no, oh no, Save the washer and dryer.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, got to. Yeah, I'm sorry.

Speaker 2:

Like you can, you can. You can wash your own dishes. You can wash your dishes, you can. You know, yeah, it's got to be washing.

Speaker 1:

You can use a broom if you have to.

Speaker 2:

Exactly.

Speaker 1:

And you can put something on a stovetop, that's true.

Speaker 2:

And heat it up. Or you can be like those people we've seen online just crack an egg out on the road They'll cook it.

Speaker 1:

So I don't know about you, but I could eat an entire meal of appetizers. Okay, I'd love to go to a restaurant and try appetizers, so I'm going to ask you which appetizer would you save?

Speaker 2:

Are you ready? I'm ready.

Speaker 1:

I think I know what your answer is going to be, but I want to see if I'm right. Okay, wings, mozzarella sticks, quesadillas or loaded nachos oh, that's a hard one, isn't it?

Speaker 2:

Oh no, it's got to be between the nachos and the mozzarella sticks.

Speaker 1:

Oh well, see, that's not at all what I thought, what did you think I thought you were going to say wings.

Speaker 2:

Well, I like wings too. I'm just saying that when it comes to an appetizer, you can't touch certain places. Mozzarella sticks are loaded nachos. I got to say nachos. Uh, I gotta say nachos. Yeah, save the nachos.

Speaker 1:

Those are so good, all right. Which online service would you save? You're ready boy. Netflix, okay, google, youtube or twitter. I'm saving google yeah, yeah, bye I use it every day, I use it every day, absolutely all right now. You were born, what year? 2001 so you weren't even born yet. With this question I'm getting ready to ask you, but I think you may still know the different categories, probably. So which 90s TV show would you say?

Speaker 2:

Okay, all right, I like this.

Speaker 1:

Friends.

Speaker 2:

Ooh.

Speaker 1:

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Speaker 2:

Ooh.

Speaker 1:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or my So-Called Life.

Speaker 2:

Okay, oh, buffy the vampire slayer, or my so-called life, okay, so I never heard the last two. I've I've heard of buffy, but I've never watched it. Never heard of the last one again controversial, take I, I gotta say fresh prince of bel-air I love fresh prince of bel-air. I'd say friends that I love friends too. That's so hard because I've watched both series like multiple different times, so I gotta say fresh Prince all right.

Speaker 1:

Which app on your phone would you save? Okay, this is gonna be hard. Okay, the camera, the clock, your notes, where you can leave notes, or your email saving the clock, because if I didn't have an alarm, I wouldn't be waking up. Oh, I'm saving my camera, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I don't want to take a picture of myself you're're crazy, Brendan.

Speaker 1:

All right, here's another one. Which candy bar would you save?

Speaker 2:

Snickers.

Speaker 1:

Twix, kit Kats or Milky Ways.

Speaker 2:

Sorry, what was the first? Thing?

Speaker 1:

Snickers, twix, kit Kats or Milky Ways.

Speaker 2:

Easy Snickers.

Speaker 1:

I'm a Kit Kat girl, so those were just fun. They were and you learn about people that way. I feel so bad for the other ones though. Well, I now know that you love Arby's fries.

Speaker 2:

That's right.

Speaker 1:

You love Wendy's for burgers because you like the Baconator. You like Toy Story.

Speaker 2:

That's right.

Speaker 1:

You like Snickers candy bars. You're going to keep your clock on your phone. You like Google search. So I've learned a lot about you today. Just a few things to know. Now you're going to have to learn about me, Uh-oh, but I'm a hidden secret. Thanks for listening to the Quirks, Bumps and Bruises podcast.
