In this special episode of SANKOFA KONVERSATIONS, author, award-winning female empowerment expert, and host Janice Ferebee, sits down with Kim Bookard, founder of PEEP This!—Project Empowerment, Exposure, and Purpose—and an inspiring group of VIPS -- young girls who are discovering the power of confidence, self-worth, purpose, and finding their voices.
Kim shares how growing up in Southeast Washington, D.C., inspired her commitment to mentoring young people and creating opportunities for girls to experience life beyond the boundaries of their communities. She also reflects on discovering Janice’s GOT IT GOIN' ON® empowerment brand and movement decades ago and how it helped shape her own journey of mentoring young Black girls.
Then, the girls take center stage. Through the GOT IT GOIN' ON® Guardian Angels and powerful “I AM” affirmations, they share how they see themselves and the women they are becoming: confident, kind, bold, beautiful, wise, blessed, and always growing.
