Show Notes

Romans 12:1 says "Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship." In this Thanksgiving month, often we are focused on a one day event by which we consume turkey and a whole bunch of other food. We are probably more focused on presenting our bodies to the dining room table than on presenting our bodies to God for examination! And you know, God loves to have a good time and is not against having a big meal to celebrate by any means, but He does want us to understand and appreciate the sacrifice involved in that meals preparation. That's just a portion of being Thankful. You see, there is the natural background work that goes into preparing a Thanksgiving table--and the guests that will be coming prepare themselves too. There is a much larger work though, as there is our preparation to attend a much larger Thanksgiving feast...the Wedding Supper of the Lamb. So, we prepare and present ourselves to Him in worship of Him. We make sure we have a wedding garment on--the garment of salvation in Jesus Christ. We get our lamps--and our extra oil--ready for the journey which will be at midnight--the darkest part of the night.  We long for His coming and we anxiously await His call, and come out to meet Him when He arrives--all this is a background work that God does in us to be able to present us to His Table at His wedding feast. We don't want to be those who did not prepare themselves and then had the door shut on them. By no means! So choose to be Thankful no matter where you're at right now. Jesus is right there with you, helping you walk this life out! Take Care!!
