In this episode of The Kash and Dash Show, hosts Ted Kaasch and Owen Dashner sit down with Dwan Bent-Twyford, known as the Queen of Short Sales, for a raw, funny, and powerful conversation about real estate, survival, faith, family, and betting on yourself.
Dwan shares how she went from growing up in small-town Ohio, working factory and restaurant jobs, becoming a single mom, and facing a major life setback, to knocking on foreclosure doors with a baby on her hip and making $22,000 on her very first real estate deal.
From there, her story gets even crazier.
She talks about learning rehabs the hard way, using a Home Depot credit card to get started, building a real estate career with no fancy background, doing more than 2,000 deals, writing books, becoming nationally known in the short sale space, and eventually helping revitalize downtown Clinton, Iowa with her husband Bill Twyford.
Dwan also opens up about Bill’s serious health battle, the decision their family had to make, and how that experience shaped their outlook on risk, faith, family, and taking action before it’s too late.
