Mother Plus Podcast
This is the podcast for "too much" moms who feel like they are failing at motherhood and don't want to fail anymore. Your hosts, Stacey Hutson and Stephanie Sprenger, two ADHD moms of four girls ages 4-18, most definitely don't have it all figured out. But we know one thing for sure: understanding our brains is the key to enjoying our motherhood, and our SELVES again.
Here, we are brutally honest about our ADHD motherhoods (the missed Spirit Weeks, the mountains of laundry, the nostalgia for our old "fun" pre-mom selves) so you know you're not the only one struggling.
When we don't know the answers, or aren't qualified to give them, we bring on the experts. Mental health therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, women's doctors -- we want to learn from them all. Because we believe once you know how to work WITH your ADHD brain rather than against it, it changes everything.
You found your people. We're them. And you're ours. Let's figure this out together.

102: How To Put Laundry Away For The ADHD Mom
This Tedious Task of the Week is putting the laundry away—we hate doing this! Steph shares her step-by-step guide to pouring out the laundry basket, sorting the clothes, and getting it put away in a less soul-crushing way. We are all about making dreaded household care tasks less painful, so let's tackle it together!
Here's the Cliff's Notes:
- Steph shares how Stacey's "love letters to yourself" bonus episode last week impacted her and inspired her to set out her yoga stuff the night before.
- Remember why we do the tedious task of the week together? It's not to shame ourselves into being "better" at chores, but to give ourselves love letters to our future selves by making our lives easier and not procrastinating.
- This week's Tedious Task: Putting the laundry away. Not washing it or switching it or even folding it—JUST putting it away.
- Putting the laundry away is often the step that ADHD women hate the most and put off, causing us to live out of our laundry baskets.
- Steph shares her step-by-step system for dumping the laundry out of the basket and getting every single item put away where it belongs.
- Strategies like engaging your senses, body doubling, and tuning into what feels most motivating to you will help you be more successful.
