How to create a glitch- monologues- season 41- chapter 1.

This is season 41 of how to create a glitch in the matrix monologues episode 1. In this episode, we will be elaborating the 2nd and 3rd degrees of decontextualization.

Now, the same basic techniques governing the creation of external, or spatial discontinuities, and glitches, apply also to the expression of meaning through the plate of the voice and hands. In the last episode, we talked about how the plate of the voice represents 3rd degree decontextualization. We also talked about how the plate of the hands represents 2nd degree decontextualization. Those same techniques are loosening associations and breaking continuity. For example, you can decontextualize with your voice by loosening the associations around the subject area of conversation. You can also decontextualize by the plate of the hands by doing the same thing. You can create discontinuities using your voice, tone, emphasis, timbre, cadence, just as you can using the rhythm with which you produce a script, either written or type-written.

You can utilize words in completely new ways. You can link together tangentially connected ideas into one fabric. You can jump from point A. to point B. utilizing the credulity of the audience to project a given narrative. There are myriad ways that one can apply these simple principles to the verbal and textual communication of meaning. Or for example, you can restructure, as in episode 4 of season 23.

Loosening associations may be as simple as replacing words you would typically use with other similar words. It may involve substituting a reaction to the way you verbalize one feeling as oppose to another. It may involve constructing a web of ideas and incorporating a new experience into them. It may involve substituting one person internally for another.

Expression on the plate of the hands and the plate of the voice is ultimately guided by one's web of associations. Which means, it is imperative that you recognize how facile its construction is. How it is possible to reorganize it. Reform it. Undermine it. Graft onto it. A web of associations is usually passively created by our experiences. But one of the keys of glitching involves the manipulation of that web of associations. Its destruction and resurrection.

Finally, the most potent form of decontextualization is the crafting of new archetypes, symbols and narratives which defy credulity, which are not contextual or contextually bound. This means create your own story, internally, as to what is going on, but don't get lost in it, because it will be your refuge from the external narratives that seek to define you by how you are rationalized.
