Saturday Nights Main Event 2025 recap

Ladies and Gentlemen after 20+ years of gracing our screens and teaching us the life lesson of hustle, loyalty and respect John Cena is no longer an in ring competitor and has officially retired. 

We started off John Cena's final match card with the man meant to fill his shoes WWE Champion Cody Rhodes taking on NXT Champion Oba Femi in a match Brother Pyro said was very wrong even when it came to the even bouts of back and forth. This match however was cut short as there was an interference by Drew McIntyre causing the match to end in a no contest and starting up a beautifully written story between Oba and Drew; the writings on the walls but will WWE be smart enough to capitalize on it? Next up we have the vet Bayley taking on the rookie soul snatchin' sensation Sol Ruca, in a match that was told and worked very beautifully by both women. Brother Pyro definetly gives his stamp of approval and even pointed out some women he'd like to see Sol go against now that she has  a win over Bayley. A 6 minute and 30 second match lands our way next as World tag team champions AJ Styles and Dragon Lee take on 'The young OG' Je'Von Evans and 'The youngest in charge' X-Division champion Leon Slater. It is absolutely no surprise that all 4 of these men were bouncing all over the ring making this match a human highlight reel, even though Leon capitalized on a rookie mistake AJ made the tag champions were still able to regroup and pick up the win. 17x world champion, 5x Untied Sates champ, 1x IC champ, 4x tag team champion. 2x Royal Rumble winner, Money in the Bank, and headliner John Cena takes on Gunther in his final match ever. During this match Gunther would go on to dominate over 85% of this fight having an answer even for John Cena's avalanche AA. Unfortunately though locking in the sleeper hold and not giving Cena any breathing room Gunther does it and causes Cena to tap. Following the match the locker room clears out and champions CM Punk and Cody Rhodes place their titles on
