There were mixed fortunes for the Manchester sides but Bournemouth finally found shore – will it be good enough for that final European berth, however.
And north of the border, Dunfermline won at Hampden, but Aberdeen fell for the Barry Ferguson trap – going two goals up and not getting all three points.
