As headsets go, earbuds remain a popular style. People just like  earbuds, and if you don't believe me, just  look  around the next time you're  out, and see how many people are wearing earbuds.

And though these remain popular for personal use, such as listening to music  or podcasts for example, are they suitable, and a good choice for business purposes? Well, to find out, this is a podcast you really need to listen to. In it, I'll let you know:

  • What shortcomings earbuds have overall, and why they might not be your best choice
  • About new earbuds that were introduced by Logitech that may just surprise you
  • How much talk  time to expect on  these earbuds
  • How they sound
  • How to connect them to your devices
  • Details on the many features that come with these earbuds
  • And of  course how much they cost, and how you can get a better price  on them

Two of the biggest things that have prevented earbud style  headsets from being practical for use in business are:

  1. Insufficient battery life
  2. Sound quality not good enough to use on important business calls
  3. You could add comfort to this list, but not everyone finds earbuds uncomfortable

When you spend a lot of time on business calls, or video meetings, earbuds that offer 2-4 hours of battery life just doesn't  cut it. The last thing you need is for the battery to give up on you right when you're in the middle of  an  important call.

And sound quality is important too, because you don't  want your important customers to struggle to hear you, have to deal with poor audio, or hear all the noise going on around you. You don't want any of that. You want, and need, to sound loud and clear with no background noise detected.

The new Logitech Zone True Wireless Earbuds have helped to make  using earbuds in a business setting practical. Logitech has packed a ton of features into these earbuds that should cause  you to stop and take notice. Here's  why I say that.

To  address the battery issue, the Logitech Zone True Wireless Earbuds come  with a battery that  can give you up  to 6 hours of talk  time, and slightly less with Active Noise Cancelation activated. You can get up to 12 hours of music, and 5 minutes on the charger gives you 1 hour of battery life. The Apple  AirPods, by comparison, gives you 2-3 hours.

These earbuds come with a USB Adapter so you can access calls away from your desk when using Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zoom and Google Voice. This is a very popular feature that you won't find on most other earbuds, including AirPods.

The Logitech Zone True Wireless Earbuds come with some other features such as  Active Noise  Cancelation so you can block out background noise, noise canceling microphones, Transparency mode so you can hear your surroundings without removing the earbuds. It also has in-ear sensors that pause music when the earbuds  are removed, and resumes when they're placed back in.

The right earbud allows you to launch MS Teams, and answer/end calls. The left bud activates Active Noise Cancelation.

The size of the Zone True Wireless earbuds are slightly larger than other buds, but  this could be due to more room being required  to fit a bigger battery.
