This episode of the Headset Advisor Business Tech Review is narrated by Doug Merritt, Founder and  CEO of  Headset  Advisor.

There's a saying that says the best just keep getting better.  Well,  in this  episode, this could be one of those  examples.

Yealink is a company that has been around a while, and they've been manufacturing business telephones, audio and video equipment. More recently, they began manufacturing business headsets and I have to say, they've done a very good job.

There are a number of things that make  Yealink  headsets appealing. Among them include:

  • The longest wireless range of any headset available today
  • A  superb noise canceling microphone to reduce unwanted background  noise
  • A  cool looking 4 inch interactive touchscreen
  • An optional integrated wireless phone charger
  • And, a price point that's better than the competition

These first generation headsets are impressive. They give the heavyweights in the  industry a good run for the money. And, the heavyweights I'm  referring to include Poly (formerly Plantronics), and Jabra among others.

So what makes this seemingly near perfect headset even better? Ironically, the improvements were not created by Yealink. You see, up until now, these Yealink headsets were unable to provide remote ring detection, remote call answering and microphone mute from  the headset when using RingCentral  service.

What this means is  when using a Yealink headset with RingCentral,  you won't  know if you're receiving an incoming call. Further, you can't answer the call remotely even if you are aware of it. Instead, you must return to your desk, mouse your way through the RingCentral  App  to take the call, end the call, and even mute your headset microphone. But that's all  changed.

Today, Yealink wireless headsets are optimized for use with RingCentral. This  means that when you're away from your desk, you'll get a tone in your headset earpiece to alert you of an incoming call. You can take the call right from your headset, and when done, press the button again to end the call. You can also mute your microphone from the headset rather than from the App.

Is this a big deal? Absolutely! A great headset just got better. No more missed calls, no more voice messages to listen to. No more calls to return, and those  returned calls probably end up in their voicemail box anyway. Your customers can reach you more easily, those important calls aren't missed, and if you're in sales,  that call about that big deal you've been working on won't  be missed either.  All  this points to easier access, more  productivity, higher sales, and improved customer satisfaction.
