✨ Why self-talk is so important in business and healing work

✨ How to recognize the “untrue truths” you tell yourself

✨ A practical method to reframe negative thoughts into empowering ones

✨ Real-life examples you can apply right away

For many of us, our self-talk slips into patterns that aren't very kind or supportive. And let's be honest, most of us didn't grow up with the perfect role models for speaking gently to ourselves. But here's the good news, we can always choose again, we can always shift towards being kinder and more supportive. Welcome to Healing Business, the podcast for healers, practitioners, and intuitive business owners who are ready for more flow, abundance, and impact. I'm your host, Frida Cabo business coach, healer and bridge builder. I'm a suite living in the bush in the far north of New Zealand, supporting clients around the world to grow businesses that truly work for them. In this space, I share conversations, practical insights, and a touch of magic to support you as you step into your next level, whatever that looks like for you. Are you ready? Let's begin. Hello, wonderful and welcome back to Healing Business Podcast. I'm your host, Frida Carbo, and today I want to talk about something that makes a huge difference in both your business and your wellbeing, your self talk. Have you ever noticed the way you talk to yourself and what you say about you and out loud or inside your head? For many of us, our self-talk slips into patterns that aren't very kind or supportive. And let's be honest, most of us didn't grow up with the perfect role models for speaking gently to ourselves, but he, here's the good news, we can always choose again. We can always shift to what's being kinder and more supportive. Especially as healers and intuitive business owners, we have the tools because at the end of the day, even if you have the most amazing community team or mentors around you, you are the one living with your own thoughts. Let's make sure those thoughts are working with you and not against you as a healer in business, your energy is your most valuable resource. The way you speak to yourself shapes how you show up, how you make decisions, and how you connect with your clients. If your inner dialogue is full of, I'm not good enough, I can't do this, or I'm always behind, then you're carrying a heavy weight that makes everything harder. But when you shift that self-talk even slightly into something more supportive, it changes your focus, your confidence and your energy, and that ripple affects not only your business, but also your clients and your community. So here's a little challenge for you today. It has three simple steps. One, notice. Start by observing what you're saying to yourself about yourself. Catch the phrases you repeat both in your mind and in conversations. For example, one thing I hear quite a lot is I'm not good at tech. Another one that I've used quite a lot previously is I'm so tired all the time. The first step is to observe. The second step is to question it. When you catch your thoughts, pause and ask, is it true? Is it supportive? Sometimes what we say might feel true, but that doesn't mean it's helpful or supportive. Step three, it's shifted. Transform the thought into something more supportive, but still believable, for example. Instead of, I'm not good at tech, you could shift that to I'm learning tech, or I'm getting better with tech. That feels true and it helps you move in the direction that you want. Or whether thought like I'm so tired all the time, we might have to, we dig a bit deeper. As I said, I've been there myself. I used to say that constantly, but when I stopped and asked if it was really true, I realized it wasn't. There were moments I had energy, like when I was singing, I didn't feel so tired, like when I was doing something I really enjoyed, so it wasn't the whole truth. From there, I could get more specific. Maybe I was tired because I hadn't slept well, so the supportive thing was to take a nap or maybe I wasn't really tired, I was just bored or overwhelmed. By digging deeper, I could actually do something about it instead of staying stuck in that blanket statement. And here's the key. Your brain doesn't like being lied to. If I told myself I'm a tech wizard, when I clearly wasn't, my mind would just go, no, that's not true. But if I say I am learning, my brain goes, yeah, that's true. And that opens up the possibility for growth and confidence instead of. I'm not good at tech that close as it. And this is why these small shifts are so powerful. They're believable, they're supportive, and they gently guide you toward where you want to be. So that's your challenge for today. Notice your self-talk, question it and shift it into something more supportive. And I'd love to hear how it goes for you. What truths have you been telling yourself and how could you reframe them? Come share with me. I'd really love to hear sharing the comments or over at Instagram at Frida Carbo. And remember, you got this. You are your own best supporter, your own biggest cheerleader. The more you practice that, the more ease, flow and abundance you'll bring into your business and your life. Lots of love, and I'll see you in the next episode. Thank you for listening.
