Destined for the Kingdom of Heaven as a follower of Jesus, we maneuver through this world in position of victory and celebration. Right? What a triumphant walk it would be if every step weren't met with an enemy attempting to derail us and trick us into putting on garments of defeat. Every forward movement comes with warfare to cling to the eternal promises and maintain the attitude of victory that is ours in Christ. This inheritance is ours now and we have a choice that we need to be ready to make moment by moment.
Amy Elaine Martinez reminds us of the discrepancy between proclaiming a victorious life in Christ and actually standing in one. Triumphing over sin, defeat, and discouragement is the plan God has for us. He wants it to be as common for His kids as folding the laundry and watering the houseplants.
