Neli grew up in a deeply Muslim culture in Iran. Although she believed in God and yearned to know him, she began to rebel against the version of him she was taught about as a young teen. She cried out to God and asked him to reveal himself; and that, he did.
Jesus revealed himself to Neli in a transformative dream despite knowing very little about him. A friend secretly shared the gospel with her, and she privately accepted Christ. There was backlash when her family discovered her conversion, but her transformed character softened their hearts by the grace of God.
For her safety, she fled the country and now resides elsewhere. Neli's story is proof that Christ can meet us anywhere, even in places where the gospel is proactively suppressed.
