White House Ag Event Preview
SPEAKER_00Welcome back to EggBull Podcast, AgBull Trading. This video is for AgBull Trading clients and paid subscribers, but I think I'm gonna let it out to the public because we have some breaking news, kind of breaking news, but we'll have more breaking news in a few days. But I'm actually friends with someone who's traveling to the White House, and it's a nice house, and he's gonna tell us all about it. But the only thing is, he doesn't know what the breaking news is. Jamie Dickerman is with the Red River Farm Network. He's a friend of the show and a friend of ours. And you're used to seeing Mr. Don Wick's smiley face all the time. But Jamie, you just got your credentials, you're going to the White House. Do tell, my friend.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, thanks, Tommy. Yeah, excited. Uh it's coming up on uh Friday. The celebration of agriculture is the only real word that we know, is that it's going to be a celebration of agriculture. There's a ton of uh people in the ag world that have been invited to come, whether we're talking about producers or we're talking about people in uh you know in various businesses that are connected to ag in some way, shape, or form. And then, of course, you know, uh media there to talk about it and uh tell everybody what's happening. So we don't know exactly what that is going to be. We do know that the the word on the street is that it's going to have something to do with those uh RVOs and and and what you know maybe we'll get some uh clarity there. We're supposed to get clarity at the end of this month about that, and so that might be what is brought up, but we never really know what the president is going to say until he says it. So El Presidente, we have a picture, Mr.
SPEAKER_00Donald J. Trump. We'll put him down for 45 and 47, and we might give him like a 46 and a half because he he sure gave her a good shot back then. Say what you want about him. But as I told my clients today, these are the markets, this is our president, and you know, markets are on fire. Now, the having what close to a thousand people in agriculture out there, it's probably not for bad news, right?
SPEAKER_01Well, I would assume not. I would assume not. So I would I would joke. That would be pretty bad. No, I I really I feel like yeah, something something big is gonna come of it. I mean, everybody everybody is well represented. We're talking about whether we're talking about specialties, we're talking about you know, major row crops, we're talking about I mean everybody in you know, hot yeah, so who's who so sugar boys gonna be there?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, as far as I know, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So so it looks like uh sugar boys, looks like a good event uh for some good information. Hopefully it's some good news because we could sure need we could sure use some of that. But like you said, markets, you know, things are things are rolling, so I guess in in some form, anyway, things are rolling. Yeah, they're doing better.
SPEAKER_00They pulled back a little bit here, especially wheat had a heck of a go. It's come back, but corn is doing well, and there's probably reasons for that. Uh let's talk real quick about uh Trump bucks. They've given out the uh money. I hear there might be more money in this. We're
Trump Bucks And Specialty Crops
SPEAKER_00trying to get this bill passed for the TSA, and there's a lot more than TSA involved, but maybe more money for the sugar boys, maybe more money for specialty crops, edibles. We grow a lot of those specialty crops up here. Talk to us about uh people listening to the Agbo podcast from all over America, and I have clients all over America, as you know. I favor North Dakota because I because the weather's just horrible and I I like to punish myself. I'm in Mayville, North Dakota right now. It's starting to look like we're gonna farm here in a few weeks, but let's go over all the crops that people forget we grow over here. Number one, number one state in honey. I don't know if people know that, but uh North Dakota honey, I don't know that you call that growing a crop, but that's agriculture, right?
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm. That's agriculture. And like you said, there's the the thing is about this part of the country, I think people don't understand if they if they haven't been up here is just how diverse everything is here. I mean, we can go from you know the standard uh corn, soybeans, wheats, we do all that. You got the sugar beets, you got potatoes, a big part of things up here. Yeah, like yeah, you said the the the edible beans, dry beans, that's that's big and getting bigger. And so, yeah, it's very diverse up here. And so there's there's a lot of focus on uh the major row crops, but like you said, it's time that uh some of these specialties get a little bit of love too. And it sounds like uh that's gonna happen. I know that the uh the sugar guys uh have been in DC, I think they were there for like three weeks trying to you know bend people's ear and you know get hard for it press, yeah. Yeah, trying to get some trying to get something done because it's been a tough road, man, for sugar. Just not just the fact of everything else with agriculture with inputs and all that stuff. It's you know, it's been tough uh with the markets there, it's been tough with uh Brazil dumping their stuff here. So, I mean, there's been a lot of issues that sugar has had to face, and so that's one group of of people that is in real need of, and they're not used to that, they're not used to coming up and asking for anything, and so that that's a serious issue, and and it sounds like you know, our representation in Washington, including a Senator Hovind, one of the big proponents of trying to get something done there. Uh, he was working with Did you say Senator Hovind? I did. We got a picture for that. Handsome alert, handsome alert. Yeah, what a he looks dapper in that picture, too. He really does.
SPEAKER_00He almost always has that blue sport coat on, too, and gray slacks. Just just if you're listening, Sarah Hovind, we love you. Yeah, he is. I mean, thank god, you know, he's so high up in the in the rankings that we have someone like him to help uh represent the upper Midwest.
SPEAKER_01No question. And he, you know, and he's working with Bozeman to try to get something done there, you know, and he's got the ear of people that that that that he needs to, and so and he knows how important that is. So he's he's one of the biggest voices that's trying to get something done. Like I said, the the sugar sugar group there in DC for like three weeks. It's a long time to spend in Washington. Uh and so they were there, and they they're gonna if they left, they're gonna be coming back anyway for this uh Friday thing at DC to the deal, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and we have this too. My friend Jim Wiesmeyer talks a lot about this, and this affects us in North Dakota,
Sugar Pressure And Upper Midwest Voices
SPEAKER_00affects all of America. But USMCA, that's a big deal because we're we're so close to Canada. We could drive up to Cavalier, North Dakota, and start seeing the giant flashing stop signs that say you're two miles from Canada, right? And Canada's a great trading partner of the United States, but I wonder what they really think of us up there. Do you have many Canadian friends in Grand Forks?
SPEAKER_01I do I do know a few people, and you know, we used to see a lot more uh Canadian uh license plates in front of our various establishments around here, and that has that has dwindled a bit. There isn't as many Manitoba plates showing up down here, and there is a little bit of there's a little bit of uh negativity, a little bit of that that spills over. I know there's some folks that I know that go up to uh Canada on a regular basis as well. I mean, it's only a hundred and some miles away from here, and they go up there and they say they're not treated as nicely, believe it or not, as they used to be. So there is a little bit of a negativity between the two, a lot of that fueled by you know things that have been said. They don't really like to be referred to as that 51st state that that really upsets them.
SPEAKER_00I'll remember that. Yeah, I have some Canadian uh family, and they started direct messaging me asking me, yeah, like why I hate Trump or something. I'm like, who's gonna tell him? I voted for the guy and I like him. I mean, it's it's we all have choices, but I they're more involved in our politics than we are in theirs. We do need them as trading partners, and we need this commerce going back and forth with Mexico and everything else. So you're going to DC, you gotta be super pumped. What from a media sense, what are they gonna let you do, or what equipment you bring in? What are you bringing to cover the story? Uh Mike, like you're gonna interview a lot of other people besides I or then be there, right? You're gonna stop by Hovind's office, or you're who what's on the hit list?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, everybody, everybody from I'm trying to get everybody from the from Minnesota and North Dakota that's that's there, you know. I'm gonna try to get to their offices as I'm there. I'm gonna spend a few days and yeah, just try to to get around and talk to everybody, talk to everybody that's gonna be at this event, or at least try to talk to the people that are from this neck of the woods that are gonna be at this event, because there's quite a list of those. And and who knows? I mean, if if the president feels like talking, I mean, you know, who's gonna turn that down? But uh absolutely, you know, I I don't know. I just uh yeah, so it should be it should be quite quite an event. I I'm a little worried. I did look at the weather, and it looks like there's a rain uh forecast for DC that day, and so I'm kind of wondering what happens if it rains, because this event's supposed to be on the South Lawn. What happens then?
SPEAKER_00I don't know, but bring an umbrella they probably won't do it in the rain, but you know who's still working really hard in the background. Colin Peterson's still out and uh working all the time, he a former congressman from Minnesota, but he has his own group of people. They're working hard to get uh agriculture represented and everything else. Well, we got some good news. We got crop insurance, we have markets moving up, lots of opinions about this war conflict. I don't even know what to call it. It's definitely when you talk to you talk to a lot of analyst brokers like me. I don't really consider myself a analyst. I wouldn't, I'm a trader, I trade my own money and I I help a lot of farmers broker. But what what's the pulse when you talk to industry experts?
SPEAKER_01Uh there, you know, it's volatility is the pulse. And I just feel like, I mean, even today, just talking to some of the
Canada Trade Tensions And USMCA
SPEAKER_01some of the folks that making the rounds, you know, and and talking to them and the the volatility, the the the confusion, especially now surrounding the situation with Iran, because you know, we're hearing two or three different things going on here as far as what's really happening, and that's and that's why the market is just you know kind of blowing in the wind. You know, whatever the wind blows, the the market's jumping at, and it it seems like, because we don't know if the if the the conflict, the war, well, whatever you want to call it, is is really winding down right now, or if there's something else happening. I read a report today that what the the all this talk of a ceasefire, the the Iranian state media is trying to say that that's the president of our country trying to say, trying to soften them up so that they can so that we can take out another part of their government, another major head of their government. That's one of the big stories that the Iranian state media is trying to push out today. So there's so much conflicting reports out there. It's just it's really hard. And a lot of the analysts that I talk to say, you know, look, you they're telling guys, hey, listen, you gotta you you can't you can't just be up and down with these markets. You have to be steady, you gotta make a plan, you gotta be smart about this because and and try to capitalize on some of this if you can, because you know you you you you can't just uh you can't just uh be up and down with every every uh headline that comes in. Yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_00Uh, real quick, because we're gonna release this to the public, I do want to run an ad for myself, and I'll run an ad for you too, baby. Uh but uh we have premium content now, www.agbull.com, $25 a month, $250 annually. Of course, if you're a client of Ag Bull Trading, you get that. Iran Headlines And Market Volatility
SPEAKER_00You're allowed to call the trading desk. Every broker on the deck, every person on the desk has a brokerage license and can talk intelligently about markets. Because you were talking about markets and you talked to so many people. I just had a a new guy call me today and he said, Farming bigger, my dad retired. He's going to meet me here at First State Bank in Mayville. He wants to come in. He said, I need help. Nice guy. So he typically sells a third, a third, a third, which works out well. But when he sees a rally like this and he doesn't own much of his bushels anymore, he feels like he missed out, Jamie. Thoughts on that?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you know, and that's that's that's it. I mean, you just uh you don't want to miss out because the the it's it's jumping around so much. You gotta make a plan. Talk to somebody like you that that's connected and knows, and and and and your advice right now from would be at a premium because you know that such a volatile time. I mean, people say that all the time, and it's almost become cliche, but it really is true. This is this is, I mean, I I haven't been in the game as long as some guys, but looking at it uh from my perspective, I don't remember things coming at us so quickly. The joke around the office is, you know, we're drinking, we're drinking out of a fire hose to try to keep up with all this stuff, you know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there when when President Trump's not president, it's going to seem boring. And I'm telling you, from us who like to do media, we're gonna miss him. Regardless of his politics, antics, there will never ever be a news cycle as fast as this president. I promise you, no one will ever have the balls move this fast, and he's not running for re-election. So the man has a plan. I think people even forgot a month or two ago we went into Venezuela. Yeah, there's problems in Cuba, there's problems domestically with TSA, there's all types of stuff going on. We don't have a budget, we're
Marketing Plans Premium Service And Wrap
SPEAKER_00going up, we don't have a farm bill. The the deficit in the United States, every 90 days, we're one trillion with a T more in debt. So there's a lot of moving pieces.
SPEAKER_01A lot of moving pieces, and you're right. Uh, we're gonna miss this when it's not around, especially especially media types, because we've this has been this has been unbelievable, and it just it just continues. I I'm really excited to hear what Friday brings. I I know that I know one thing. It it whatever we think is gonna happen, something else is gonna happen. There's gonna be a surprise attached. It's just like it's just like if you're a fan of you know the World Wrestling Federation back in the day. There's always somebody, there's always a surprise attack coming from the back. There always is. And so we can expect that on Friday, I think.
SPEAKER_00I like that idea. All right. How do folks get a hold of you and all the good folks at Red River Farm Network, Mr. Jamie Dickerman?
SPEAKER_01Best place to check us out is our website. It's rrfn.com. We got all our information there, all our stories, uh, on-demand audio. Uh, we got podcasts, all kinds of good stuff there. So just go there and uh and follow us there. We have got our finger on the pulse, and we are reporting agriculture's business every day.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I like that ending. Very good, very good. Give Mr. Wick a big hug and everyone at the office, you guys work so hard. There's no one doing a better job in the upper Midwest and for that point all over the country. I I I can't tell you how when Don went and visited some friends of mine from central Illinois, how they started subscribing to the letter and they love it because you get backyarditis. You're in uh Missouri or New York or Ohio. You you need to know what's going on in the upper Midwest, and Red River Farm Network is a place to do it.
SPEAKER_01Appreciate that, sir. And uh we uh appreciate uh being able to do this with you. It's always fun.
SPEAKER_00I could almost see you here from my office. I'll talk to you soon, my friend. All right.
