You want to share that with us? I have a personal fun fact about me. So, yes, my personal fun fact, I was a child actor. If you want something fun, I've never talked about this on a podcast yet. Last week, my buddy texts me and he goes, Yo, man, congratulations. I saw you on, I saw you on Kimmel. I'm like, You saw me on Kimmel? I didn't see me on Kimmel. Okay. He goes, Yeah, dude, it was great, man. Like you, good job. Here's the backstory. I did commercials and I did one commercial in particular with an actress named Kat Dinnings. She's on Two Broke Girls. She's in the Avengers movies. She I think she's in a new sitcom on one of the stations with Tim Allen. Anyway, we did it together and she was on Kimmel and she said we shared the commercial, which is a bed wedding video. So for any of your listeners, if you want a good laugh, Audrey, type in Kat Dinnings wets the bed. And there's a little boy there with her named Tim Summers, right here, as the host of the DDAVP anti-bedwedding or bedwedding is okay video. It was a video you got when you got the medication. They showed this commercial during Kimmel, and they asked, I don't know if it was Camel, it was one of the other late nights. Anyway, they ask, What about the boy? She goes, Oh, I had a huge crush. He was my first date. And so I'm like, I ran in the other room. I told my wife, I was like, I was just on TV. That's what I did as a kid. I was on a daytime television soap opera. I get overly excited still when I think about the fact that I got to be on one of those shows inadvertently in my past life. But it told me, it's told me a lot about entertainment and just being comfortable being you in front of a lens, in front of people that you don't know.

When you zoom out, what's the through line? How do how do all those chapters inform the way you show up today?

What a great question. My through line for my career, and I think my life at the end of the day has been service. I grew up with a mother who had 64 surgeries before she passed. And one thing she taught me was giving yourself permission to laugh. And the most beautiful part of just being able to find the humor and hilarity in any situation. I remember particularly, I would take a train into Philadelphia because I'm from Jersey. At age 13, 14, I'd be on the soap in the morning and then I would take a train in and sit with her at her bed at the hospital University of Pennsylvania. And there was never a time when she wasn't laughing, Audrey. Oh. And what was so incredible is that I would take that energy back onto daytime because I fully believe that if I can help someone else step out of their own reality, if only for a minute, I've given them the best, most precious gift anyone can give another person. And that's fueled my entire career. I thought about how I can do that inside of advertising? How can I help influence someone to buy Pepsi or Coke or a Verizon product by getting them out of their own world and getting them back into mine? I thought about how do I actually then take this service level deeper. I when she passed, I thought maybe I should take up the cloth and I should go to seminary. Faith has always been a big thing in my life. Had a great conversation with a pastor mentor of mine who said, You don't got you don't have to go to seminary. You can just serve where you are. I thought that was fascinating. Yeah. So I went down this rabbit hole of understanding uh executive coaching and how can you help someone and coach them to confidence, but then merge that with my knowledge of advertising. Put that all together. I've been an incredibly impatient person most of my life. But then when you showed me Chat GPT about three years ago, and now I don't have to go through all of the letters in the alphabet to get to A to Z. I can have someone that can help me supercharge and go from A to Q. Well, that became my best friend. So over the last couple of years, I've made it my business. I now work with small to medium-sized businesses as well as larger enterprises, rolling out Chat GPT, rolling out Gym and I. On the enterprise side, these rollouts fail because there's no enablement, there's no teaching someone to think AI first. But that also applies to small to medium-sized businesses. When you have questions and thoughts about what's happening in your business, in your world, in your life, when you have questions about your fears, frustrations, wants, aspirations, you go to an AI that can't judge you and it can help you figure out a better way forward.

Alright. So I want to get back on this laughter thing for for a moment. Yeah. Okay, AI meets laughter. So you're known as the AI expert. Yeah, upcoming, yo, you got your upcoming book. And it's called Permission to Laugh. And at first glance, those worlds don't seem to match, but why humor? And why is it such a powerful tool, like right now?

Like right now, right now the world's burning. Yeah, I agree. And in my personal opinion, when things seem the darkest and when things are the hardest, we've been given this ability to find humor. Permission to laugh doesn't mean giving yourself the permission to laugh at the uh at things that are absurd or to laugh at things that are harmful, or to just laugh and not see the gravity of a situation. Instead, permission to laugh means I give my personal myself permission to be present in a moment and to trust that everything else will work out, to see what's happening and know that there's something else, call it God, Yahweh, whatever you want to call it, not to get spiritual, has your back. I think I look at it like this. I go back to my mom in the hospital. She once came in and she said, Meet me in the hallway. And she got in her wheelchair and she started rolling it down the hall. And she goes, I'm training because I'm gonna beat the snot out of that person in the room next to me on who can go in the wheelchair faster. So here we are in a case where she is very, very ill, but we're looking at the absurdities that are all around us. And what I found in my life is that by applying that into coaching and working with someone, you get their brains from a neuroscience perspective. Laughter floods the brain full of feel-good chemicals, so now you don't see the line in front of you as a threat, you see it as dinner.

Yes, that's beautiful. Thanks for sharing that. So making AI human. How do you translate AI into something practical, human, and actually usable for entrepreneurs who already have too much on their plate?

For the entrepreneur that has too much on their plate because your sales, your marketing, your product, your everything, I do an exercise called AI for 14 days. So for 14 days, you're gonna use Chat GPT, you're gonna use Gemini, whichever you choose. I prefer ChatGPT because it has a better translation tool or dictation tool at this point. I'm going to turn it on, and first thing in the morning, I'm going to talk to it. I'm going to tell it my fears, my frustrations, my wants, my aspirations, everything that's on my mind and in my heart, I'm going to dump into the AI. Now, some people might think you're dumping that into Big Brother. You might be, okay. But at the same time, if we're really talking about Big Brother, I love it when my Amazon knows that the diapers are out. Come on. Okay, exactly. I love that. But if I'm dumping all this into my AI, at the end of 14 days, it will have built an entire model of you. So now when I go to ask it, hey, I'm I'm really debating whether I should buy product A or product B or launch product C or D, it may go, Hey, Drew, you're doing the same thing you always do. You're kind of stuck in analysis paralysis. Let's make this easy. Let me give you some questions. That makes AI approachable. It's like having an all-seeing, non-judgmental person to look and say, hey, you're not doing this right. How can I help you? You're doing this great, good job. It's what you want it to be. It doesn't have to be more than that.

Okay, the zero-dollar framework. You talk about a zero-dollar AI framework, which instantly gets people's attention. What is it? What's one small no-cost win someone listening to implement today?
Drew Thompson: 10:02
Yeah. So the zero-dollar framework, Miss Tech Diva, is just saying, how do I leverage and stack multiple AI tools so I can act like I have a team of 50 without putting a zero, without putting a dollar into my business? What does that mean? That means, for instance, how can I scale my name and likeness, my brand, if you will, in video content without getting in front of a camera? Because a lot of people, right, you get they get in front of a camera, like, what do I do with my hands? I'm a little nervous, right? Rick, Ricky Bobby, right? Yeah. And there's a way to get around that. There are people I've coached, entrepreneurs, that are using something called Hey Jen, which is an AI, to create avatars of themselves that look human, that seem human. And now we know that if I just took an avatar video and put it out somewhere, you'd say, Drew, that does not look human. Yes, you're absolutely right. But when you use a certain methodology to shrink the size of a video and other elements that are in the same piece of content, it now is not as noticeable and feels more authentic. Now I'm not saying use avatar content to get rid of human content. I'm saying to augment what you're already doing. And then use something like chat or Gemini to help you search for relevant topics. And then it will write the script for you. Then automating it with something called N8N, Nancy 8 Nancy, right? N8N so that the script writes it for you. Then the script is dumped into Hagen, then it produces the asset all on its own. All you have to do is set it up with something like Metro Cool or Sprout Social so it posts. That's just a part of it. The tools are here. Use them, but understand at the end of the day, I'll say this with these tools, the most important part is face-to-face communication. Because anybody can be an expert at anything at any time now. But it takes a person to understand what's going on when I talk to someone else. It's the emotional intelligence has to be higher than ever.

It makes me think about some of my old online courses that I did years ago, and they were basically text-based, maybe some audio and some static images. And like this stuff has to be readapted to for today. So they need to be video clips. So I can use my AI, my clone, so to speak, and and to do some of that content to be the be on the be on screen person, so to speak.

Yeah. Well, 150%. You can use your own AI clone in HeyGen.com. You know, I think too many people look at it and then they say, Oh, that doesn't look like you, Drew. Your eye, your eyebrows haven't moved. Yeah, that's very true. That's very true. However, if we apply a lens of modern video production and filmmaking to the output you get from a Hey Gen, right? Now I can have a video that may not 100%, 100% be me. However, in post-production, I can start to move the video left and right. I can punch in and punch out. I can have lower thirds, upper thirds, things to come in that disrupt that thought in your brain long enough for me to get my message. So another part of your brain says, Oh, actually, this is a really good message. You don't start thinking that the magician isn't doing a magic trick. You start thinking, wow, he just cut a person in half.

All right, Drew, lessons from the trenches. You've been in the dirt, quote unquote, as head coach for powerhouse brands like Codwell, banker and real broker. From what or from that front row seat, what's the single biggest mistake you see high performers making right now?
Drew Thompson: 13:50
Too often, high performers look around and see what everybody else is doing. Like just because I am a top producing real estate agent doesn't mean I'm not looking around and seeing everyone else's social posts, everyone else what content they're putting out there. It's the singularity of focus that I believe you must maintain. And it's very hard to do. I I liken this to this. Come back with me for a second. When I was in college, I was broke. When I say broke, I mean I was broke. I had no money. But the one thing I wanted was an iPod, right? With a white click click wheel on it. I wanted an iPod. What did I do? I went online and I found this shady corner of the internet called freeipod.com. You get 20 people to fill out iPod off online offers, you get your free iPod. So I did it. I spammed ex-girlfriends. I spammed their ex-girlfriends all through Facebook in the early 2000s. I got my iPad in like six, my iPod in six days. Wow. I had nothing to lose. Contrast that to where a lot of people are now. I just had this conversation with a client. They don't want to send a one sales email that'll actually get them the business. Why? Because this version of them has a house, has kids, has a reputation, has brands that look at them for work. So if that's the case, you need to be more like the first version that has nothing to lose. Yeah. That's that is single-handedly the biggest thing that I battle with or that I've seen in entrepreneurs that I battle to help them get through. Now AI, AI plays a piece in all of this, right? Because that conversation right there could be had with Chat GPT or Jim and I. And all of a sudden now you have a way to work through it on your own.

Yes. Yes. That that that was the major piece, what you said right there, because for all these years we've been just caught up between these two ears up here. 100%. And stuck in a, uh, in a what is it? The cycle, the that, the what is the hamster in the hamster wheel.

Yes. Now we don't have that. Now now we can dump things into a judgment-free chat GPT. But you know, I'm just thinking about it. Wouldn't it be funny if it's not judgment free? What if there are developers that just sit there in a room and they all wait wait for those things to come in? They're like, hey Frank, come here, we got another one. You should read this. Oh my god, it's about his dog again. Come here, right? Like, wouldn't it be funny? Let's put that theory out there. That would that would be that would be some funny good material.

Scaling without burnout. You're unapologetically anti-grind, which challenges a lot of traditional hustle culture. We want to hustle. How can someone grind less and still scale with intention, not exhaustion?
Drew Thompson: 16:43
You're looking to scale with intention and not exhaustion. You're first off, you have to say to yourself, I'm gonna see things that say hustle more, and just realize this fundamental thought. Hustling is the laziest thing you can do. It's just momentum, it's not movement. Yeah, I worked, I work 24 hours today. Oh, good. Are you dead? Because that that's crazy. I read something the other day, Audrey, that said an employee of an American firm in the Netherlands was scolded for leaving his desk at 5 p.m. every day. His manager put him on a performance improvement plan. When what the manager didn't know that in the Netherlands, they fully believe that if you don't get all your work done by five, it's because you're the wrong person for the job. Wow. Now, now translate that to American. We are very we are a capitalist country, we are a capitalist economy. You work until your fingers bleed. You don't have to because now, what while we are talking, I have an AI agent doing business development over here. I have another AI agent looking through contracts for an upcoming project that I have to talk about at two o'clock. You work smarter, you don't have to work harder. Or maybe the smarter part is actually really the harder part.

Beyond, write me a blog post. Okay. Yeah. Actually, you already talked about all the fantastic things we can do with AI, but you're known for creative, out-of-the-box AI strategies. Give us one example. What's an AI-powered idea that goes way beyond the obvious and actually creates leverage?

Oh, so actually creates leverage that goes out of the box. I am a big proponent that AI doesn't, AI is a mirror that doesn't expose not only what you don't know, but it exposes how you think. Let me explain. The way you think about the world allows you to talk to an AI completely different. Are you guys listening? Are you in retail? Are you small to medium-sized business? Are you in services? What is that? Well, I'm mostly service-based. Okay, so so here's my thought that if it's a service-based business, you know, if I think to myself, okay, I'm gonna launch a new service this month, it's gonna be consulting for an hour or two hours. My thought is what's the best messaging and positioning to do this? And how can I launch this in a way that will bring in more customers and bring more clients for me to serve? Well, why don't I go directly to ChatGPT and ask it a question? Hey, I want you to be an expert at not only launching more client service products, but I want you to be an expert in home hospice healthcare, who is someone who is incredibly emotionally intelligent. I'm gonna tell you who my target client is. Your job is to help me figure out what is the strategy? How do I get this in their hands and serve them better? You see what I'm doing, right? I could say, hey, I'm launching a new toy for children. Okay, I want you to take on these roles, a uh pediatrician, a lawyer, a veterinarian, and a priest. Sounds like a bad joke, right? But I want you I want you to look through that lens and I want you to tell me, how do I launch this product? And you're gonna get a really, really different outcome. Now, if I'm looking at leverage, that's one piece, right? That's how to get a different creative out-of-the-box answer. If I look at over here to create leverage, now we have things like lovable and another tool that I've used all the time called Replit. These tools allow me to just think something and then make it real. If you go to signalandscale.ai, the entire thing was built with replit.com. Meaning I worked with another large language model to come up with what my ideal website would look like. And then I just cut copy pasted into another one, text, into replit, and it built my website. Oh, in six minutes.

And it's fully responsive and it has widgets and everything. You say widgets and everything. It has everything that I would that I would have paid a website designer thousands of dollars for. So the speed is a factor now. If I have an idea, I can execute on it. That doesn't mean as as I scale my business more, that I don't go out and pay $20,000 to a website designer to build me an even bigger, better, more functional website. Who's to say, though, at that time that the AI won't be able to do it at a fraction of the cost?

Yeah, you know, we have to rethink really, you know. So so what is our next, our next iteration of being a web designers and developers? How do we stay relevant or how do we transfer out of that? So what would service do we replace it? This is this is fascinating.

See, then that's a fantastic question. Because Audrey I believe that for Instance, as I'm building my site, I have to sit with AI and I have to say, okay, I don't know how to say this, but like if I'm a web designer, I want the site to look different, I want it to scroll, I want things to move as I move my mouse. How do I say that in web design terms? And now that translates for me. But you, as someone who's an expert in this field, you know that. You know how to do all those things. Well, now you just have an amazing tool sitting in your hand that can help you execute faster, quicker without having to go to third-party resources because you already know how to talk the talk.

AI and real estate reality check. And I do I do have people in industry, so this will be good for them. Okay. So for real estate agents listening, what's the one part of their business AI is about to radically disrupt? Yet most aren't paying attention to it.

Marketing, content marketing, right? You have agents out there, fantastic agents across the country that are using Hagen. I mean, look up Jack's with Josh, Josh Rogers, fantastic agent. He uses Hagen to create content, marketing content, grew his audience from zero to 60,000 in under a year.

Gets five leads a week that are organic coming to him. This is the very beginning. This is the dumbest AI we will ever see. If he can do that right now, that there's an 18-year-old that is listening, that is going, I can do this. That person's coming for your lunch. No longer are we, hey, I'm the greatest agent in Beverly Hills. I'm the best. I'm platinum. I'm super platinum. You should work with me. No one cares about that. They want to know that you have their best interest at heart. How do you do that? By authentic content. And let's take this all the way back. Content that can make you laugh, make you feel an emotion. So, realtors that are listening, if you are putting out content and you're saying, But Drew, I'm not funny, I disagree. I think that there are humor parts of your life. You just have to find them. And AI can help you find them. And then tell that story. It doesn't have to be about selling homes. Please don't make it about selling homes. Make it about what you see as a realtor every single day. Go to Christopher Benjamin. Look him up. Look at how funny he is. He's a friend. The guy sells hundreds of homes a year by making people laugh because that aids memory retention, it aids likability, trust. Try it and stop saying that you're the greatest realtor ever because you're not. No one wants you to hear you brag. You hear a plastic surgeon say, I am the best. I've done more smiles ever. Come on now.

Yeah, and then the laughter part to me, that's that's the relationship building part. People like you. Oh my God, he is crazy. I want to, I want to sell, I want to buy my house for him.

I I mean, a lot of people say no like and trust, right? Yeah. And they say the most important part is for them to trust me. It's like, no, that's not true. I trust a lot of dentists, but I hate dentists. I think that, right? But I find one that I like that looked at me when I came in and been like, hey, you look a little apprehensive. What's going on? I like you because you heard me. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.

The future of personal brand. Let's fast forward three to five years. What's the one AI-related shift most entrepreneurs are not thinking about that will fundamentally change how we build and protect our personal brands.

Right now, I could take any framework that I learn online, put it into an AI, and say, teach me that framework, or show me how to be that person. There's a really, really fantastic human being. He's in my life and he's a friend, a former boss, his name's Sharon Sravatsa. I highly recommend you look him up or your listeners look him up. He's just a good human, kind human. He's built two billion dollar companies. And a lot of times those two things don't go in the same conversation, right? Kind, good human, built billion-dollar company. He has a theory called, I'm gonna butcher this, but it's if you want to 10x your income, you need to find 10 people and go deep with them for 10 years. So for 10 years, you are there. You are asking, you are involved in their life, you are helping them through challenges, helping them in their business, asking for nothing in return. And that will 10x your income over 10 years. That is the key to not being irrelevant as AI takes over. You have to find a way to connect your brand to another human on the other side of a lens. When you're talking and making content, it's not, hey guys, how are you? Hey, Audrey, I was thinking about you. You're trying to look for a home and yada yada town. It's gotta be really stressful. Guess what? You see what I'm doing? I'm looking at one person. You have to find a way to serve and have your service human to human outweigh the power that AI has because AI will take over. But what AI can't do, AI can't walk in a room and have a conversation with someone and just say, hey, like, how you doing? Like, what's keeping me busy? Yeah, like what's going on? I saw your your recent Instagram post. Looks like your kids really killed that little league game. That type of care isn't there, and when you build your brand on that, you build your brand that will last past an AI evolution.

Permission to pause. Yeah, this has been powerful for the person listening who feels inspired but still stuck in grind mode. What's the first small step they can make today to reclaim their time, their energy, their perspective?

For the person stuck in grind mode and you're not getting anywhere. Here's what I want you to do. If you're driving right now, don't do this. If you're at home, that's fine, that's great. If if you're watching this on YouTube, you could just get a transcription and drop it into chat. I want you to open up Chat GPT in the transcription section, right? Where it transcribes your voice. And I want you to say this hey, I'm really stuck right now. I've been grinding every single day, and I'm not getting anywhere. It's affecting my life, it's affecting my health.
