She earned her master's degree from Central Michigan University and her bachelor's degree from Alabama State University, hbcu in Montgomery, alabama. Alicia currently resides in the suburbs of Atlanta, georgia, with her husband, brian, and their three children, caitlyn, brian, junior and Jordan. And there is so much more you guys to share about Alicia's journey, and we're going to get into it right now. So welcome, welcome, alicia, to Coffee Chit Chat. Thank you. Thank you for having us. We're excited to be on the Coffee Chit Chat. Let's chat about it. Yep, let's just chat about it. So, alicia, we're going to start with you as an educator.

Speaker 1:

So when did you decide, or when did you know, that you wanted to be an educator. I always. You know there's two, it's twofold, because growing up I was pretty shy, but as I got older I stepped outside of my comfort zone and I just had a niche for working with children. I had a niche for helping others, I had a niche for serving others and I was like you know what? I think education is going to be my, my route, because I've always many would say you know she's bossy, you know she loves to tell people what to do, and I gravitated to that particular field simply because I just I love working with people. I am a people's person and children have always been my passion. Oh, wow. And I heard earlier you said you were a little shy but you cannot tell. So you know all of these people out here that says I don't know if I can do a business, I don't know if I can be a speaker. You were a little shy and just look how successful you are now. So, guys, I know right, I was very quiet as a young girl and I don't know what happened. I just came out of my shell at some point. Okay, well, we love it. So she was educated first, guys, but we're going to fast forward to Miss Alicia as a business woman.

Speaker 1:

You are in network marketing and I know that's not easy. And let's chat about you blazing trails by becoming your organization first African American elite leader with a team of over 117,000 consultants yes, you heard that right, 117,000. That's like a mini corporation. You guys in under global leadership. What made you and your team unique and how do you describe your leadership style? What? Well, my team is team that's in deep as the does.

Speaker 1:

And let me just back it up when it comes to network marketing, I believe network anyone can do it, but it's not for everyone. Let me say that because it isn't undertaking and it is definitely something where you have an opportunity to flourish. It gives you an opportunity. Of course, we know, make some extra. As I say, mula, look at your pocket. It may be, whether it may be to supplement your income. You're looking for a tax write out and so many other things.

Speaker 1:

Building that team didn't come easy, but with me, I contribute all of my success. I'm going to always give God the glory for all that I've done. I believe God put this opportunity network marketing into my lap is because I love serving, I love getting back, I love teaching and because of my educational background, it really came natural to me teaching people what I know, because network marketing is simply, it's an experience. You can have a product, but at the end of the day, it has nothing to do with the product, it has everything to do with the people. We are in a people business and in my team Now today, over 100, some thousand, 117,000. We have consistently grown rapidly.

Speaker 1:

But, as a leader, one of the things that I've learned, I didn't always get it right, let's be clear. Let's be clear as you go as the leader and as you're building and I was building extremely fast, coming in with prior knowledge because I just wasn't my first company, my first direct sales, multi level marketing, so I came in with a little bit experience, but that's your that experience, built upon this experience to where I am today, with almost nine years, with a total of 12 plus years in the network marketing industry One of the things that I learned the best and I, what I believe truly contributed to my team success is ensuring that, hey, I can't, I cannot control what other leaders do in their business, but one of the things that we're going to do, we're going to do is go to God first. Faith was number one. Prayer is a part of it, was a part of my team, is a part of my business plan, is the part of everything that I do, and I wanted my team to understand that faith without works is dead. We need to understand we can have one without the other. I think for those you know, some maybe something agree with it, but, no matter what, the train kept moving and those ready to move with me, we were shaking and moving. Over the years and what we do, we continue to share the opportunity of hope Through this particular opportunity, helping women build their stuff, esteem mothers you name it have in mid, have joined my team over the years and we have built something amazing, but that came with making sure my team knew that it was not just about a nerve, even though people say, oh my God, you have such a large team that expands across this country. However, one of the things that I wanted to do and I'm proud of myself was I know I'm only one person, but I did my best to try to touch it and thank God that we live in such a social media world, that you know old school and network marketing.

Speaker 1:

You went door to door. You had parties and don't get me wrong, we started out, I started my business that way, with home parties. But we, we had something traumatic to happen A few years ago, which was the pandemic. And what do you do as a leader, as an educator? You have to adapt, you have to adjust, you have to make changes. And I was like, oh my God, you know, I, we can't get out and see each other and do those parties and connect and do those lunch and learns, those brunch and, you know, breakfast and so forth.

Speaker 1:

Social media is where it was in Zoom, even though many of us didn't know. Some people probably didn't even know what Zoom was Right, didn't even know how to spell it, like they didn't even know how to spell it, honey. So, truth be told, I found a way to best connect with my team because, naturally, I was doing team trainings on Wednesday, which was called Weft and Knowledge Wednesday. But that wasn't enough. They couldn't see me and I couldn't see them. They could only hear me. But me, the people person that I am, I needed to connect with them. So the next best thing was doing Zoom. That way I had an opportunity to hear their voice, to see their faces, whether it had been times where they were sad or they felt like they were struggling. At least I could see that and try to tap into how I could best serve them and help them to still have the success that they desire. My team name is Team Datsun, divas and Duns, and we dare to be different. There's no one like us. I love it.

Speaker 1:

So I heard you say you changed your ways. You can't let them pivot. Yeah, because they pivot. The pandemic came, but you guys didn't stop. So that made you unique as well, because sometimes people get a little discouraged and people start falling off, but you seem like you just kept running Right, because one of the things that I always told my team you know, in this industry you're going to lose people.

Speaker 1:

That comes with the territory of it, but you can't walk around. Every time you lose a team member or someone walks away and you can't get mad. I always say get out your feelings, honey. This is a business, this is nothing personal, and when you understand that, you can shake and move and understand the dynamics of what this industry has to offer. There's somebody out there who wants to be on your team, who's looking for that opportunity. So wish them well on their next journey, wherever they may go, but, at the same time, continue to share the opportunity. Continue to share how this business has been a blessing to you and so many others. That's amazing. So I'm just hearing no excuses, no excuses. I just love it. I just love it. So you have so many amazing accomplishments. Let's talk about some of those awards.

Speaker 1:

You won many awards, many honors, including the 2016 Z-Signature Collection necklace is called the Alicia, so it's like going through your mind when you get a phone call and saying, hey, hey, hey, girl, you're going to get a necklace named in your honor. Oh my god, with being my first year in business, like I said, so many things were happening so fast and the opportunity came for me to say, hey, we have this, rock the runway and you have an opportunity to have a necklace in your honor, and me being the competitive spirit that I am. I didn't know how competitive I was at the time, but what was inside of me was this passion of oh my god, I have an opportunity to make this happen and I'm going to make it happen. It was not. I'm going to try, because there's no such thing In my mind. We don't try, we simply do, and so I was going to put a plan into place that let me see how I can make this happen. I looked everything over and, lo and behold, I hit it the first month of making it happen and I simply blew my own mind and, honestly, I was still in shock and I was like, oh my goodness, I'm going to actually have a necklace named after me. I can't even put into words Even today, because this happened in 2016,.

Speaker 1:

All these years later, that is still one of my most proudest moments within this company and a part of this journey that I've been on, because I know that every consultant who is in this business, that is something that they will love to have achieved, and many still have an opportunity to achieve. So I would definitely tell them believe in yourself. One of the things that I would say was the driving force for me is I believe in me. I bet it on me, with God by my side. One of the things that I always say, which is my favorite scripture Polytheonians 413,. I can do all things through Christ. That's true, through scripture, and saying that prayer over that scripture over and over again. It got me through, even through times I couldn't see myself through, and so that was a very proud moment, not just for me, but it was a proud moment for my team, and to have that accomplishment meant the world to me in which, in turn, meant the world to the entire team. That's awesome Because I know that when I first saw your name as an elite leader and you were African-American, that was just like wow, that is so awesome.

Speaker 1:

I just love that because I love to see African-American women Just go up that ladder, shadow those glasses, so that was awesome. Yeah, that was definitely amazing that same year. So much happened in that year this is still the same year that I became the first African-American leader in the company, so it was a mind-blowing year of breaking glass buildings. They didn't see anyone like me to do this. Were there others in the business prior to me working and shaking and moving, of course, but the first person to become the first African-American leader in the company was very humbling and very emotional.

Speaker 1:

For me is because all I kept saying is, if I can do this, they can do this too. I wanted them to see that it is possible. It is possible if you just simply believe. I get emotional. I'm trying not to get emotional now, but it's a feeling and a moment that I will always remember is because I want to those people when I walk stages and so forth. I don't know if this is the gift from God, but I have a tendency to connect with the audience, and I saw so many people screaming and crying because they saw themselves like, oh my goodness, this has happened. This is a history breaking moment and for me, I will always share that, because it was so much bigger than me. It was for the women that were coming behind me, because representation matters. And look at us now, look at the company, all these African-American leaders. Yes, all I can say is God did it, but God did it, but God did it, but God, okay, and you said that example. So that is just. I mean, that's amazing, but not only with the necklace.

Speaker 1:

You are a six figure blame leader, yes, so just tell our leaders because I mean our listeners how they can accomplish those type goals. You know, if someone has that like I'm in network marketing, but I'm not at that level yet, but I want to, let's try to be a six figure earner. Can you tell them how? Yes, yes, as I say, it doesn't come easy. I always say don't wish for it, work for it. Okay, a lot of times people, they see your glory but they don't understand there was a story behind that. They don't see the late nights. They don't see you looking a hot mess on some days because you are constantly working behind the scenes so that you can achieve that particular goal. Become an eight, six figure, multi, six figure. Blean Boston has been for six consecutive years now. That is truly a blessing. You know, I'm still in awe of what this opportunity has been able to do with God, because God did so. I always say I'm going to always not man God that he plays his opportunity, not that. And like I say, it's so much bigger than the jewelry.

Speaker 1:

It was about showing others what's possible when you believe and when you put in the work. A lot of people, you know I know it can be, it can sound cliche. You know you got to put in the work. You got to put in the work. It is just simply that surrounding yourself with like minded women and men, because we are now a company of men who are rocketing out to as well, but in my early days all we saw was us women and her as an African American woman, it was important that I show my, my sisters like, listen, you know you can do this, but you got, you can't have do it. You got to be all the way in. As they say, do it with passion or don't do it at all Because you don't. You want, in order for you to achieve the results, you've got to be all in. And that just kind of made me think about the tour that we just did this year as copyrighted consultants reaching out to the entire company as a whole joint limit.

Speaker 1:

Let's talk about what happens when you're all in, and that is simply what it takes. You have to be all in. When I say all in, that means you got to be in for the, for the days where it doesn't look so good. You got to be in on the days when you're those team members walk away or people don't believe in you. But when you believe in you can nobody stop you. Okay. And when you are and when you keep God at the forefront, you will build upon and you will reach those goals. But you have simply got to be consistent.

Speaker 1:

York, I'll say you have to be persistently consistent, and what I mean by that? I always say push, which is an acronym persist until something happens. Do this with integrity. Surround yourself with the right people having a positive attitude. Let me tell you, yeah, a lot of people don't understand your attitude determines your altitude and all things that you do. You have to have a positive outlook, even when you can't see the light. You may not look promising to you, but I assure you, if you push forward and if you continue to persist, you will have exactly what you dream of. But you got to be patient. We have a tendency of wanting things to happen when we want to. It's not going to happen because we want to. We have to be patient to understand it's going to happen when it's supposed to.

Speaker 1:

Amen, and I love how you said you have to work and stay consistent with the people at the top of the house. Sometimes people with the altitude over on the people at the top make the money, but what are you doing? Are you pouring into your business like the people at the top? So I am so happy you brought that point out. Yeah, yes, most definitely. It's just important. I'm one of those leaders. I'm going to give it to you straight I don't believe in sugar cold anything. I don't believe in glorifying. Let me tell you something. I'm one of the top leaders in the company. Yes, I am the first African American elite leader. Yes, I am a multi six figure aren't in this business, but at the end of the day, you can strip me of all that and I am just a consultant. An elite consultant is just a star consulting who consistently shows up. That's it, that's it. They show up and nobody else shows up. They just don't show up and not get this permit so quickly. So listen as you guys hear that. That is how you attain those goals. That is how you become that multi six figure earner. We love it. We love it.

Speaker 1:

But not only are you rocking this network market, you're expanding your entrepreneur experience to all friends. You do keynote addresses for conferences, you do forms, seminars and retreats and through this platform, you earn the HCHI Magazine's Entrepreneur of the Year, alabama State University 2023, 50 under 50 class honoree. May, june and December 2023 cover feature in the Sheen Magazine. Rockin' Women of Rockdale 2023 honoree. Southern Crescent Women in Business 2023 Media Award and many more. Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1:

So what motivated you to expand these entrepreneur skills into all of this? I, as I say that you know. I truly believe I was destined to do all that I am doing today. My platform yes, I am an educator turn successful entrepreneur. I just feel like God instilled in me so much more and he said you know what? This is just a stepping stone. I have a platform for you that is so much bigger than what you're doing today, and I want you to be able to reach the masses, and so one of the things that I often say is that my passion is simply serving others and empowering women to see greatness within themselves.

Speaker 1:

A lot of times, so many women get stuck in the career field that they're in and they may not necessarily be happy in and growing up, we were simply taught I'm sure you can attest to this as well go to school, get your degree and you're going to retire after 30 years. No man, no serve, you're in. We are in different times now, and one of the things as a leader in a successful leader you're going to pivot and you're going to grow with the times, like right now, tiktok is trending. You have so many platforms that are trending If you want to reach the masses and if you want to reach this new generation, which is, I say, they are our future, so, which means we have to adapt to what's to come. So if TikTok is where it is, then let me try to get over here and figure this thing out the best way I can. Okay, and that's what you have.

Speaker 1:

I'm not saying I'm the greatest at it, because I'm not, but, however, that does not mean that I'm not afraid to try it. I will try anything, and that's one of the things that I want to encourage people to do is don't be afraid to try. One of the things that I talk about all the time is it does not matter how many people do what you do. Nobody can do it like you. At the end of the day, no one else is you, and that is your superpower, and that's one of the things that I talk to women about understand who you are and who you are, and when you can understand both of those things, you are bound to have success in anything that you touch. As long as you got God leading you on that path, that's awesome, because I am so into. As for me in this house, we've got a certain of them, or he's always going to be first, and then that superpower is you. You know, and God gives us everything that we need. Oh, definitely, fearfully and wonderfully made. So you're a superpower. Y'all hear that that's our superpower.

Speaker 1:

But we know that, like you said earlier, there are some days where you know things are chaotic and you're tired, and the work life balance. So how do you like the time management part of it? How do you balance that, honey? Let me just be honest. I tell you all the time you are not about to get no fluff, let me just tell you I don't need to call it work life balance, I'm just going to be honest. I call it at least just scale of life, because, honey, that scale is up one day and that scale is down the next day. Okay and so. But one of the things that I've learned, if I could just be very serious and very transparent over my journey in my early years I'm not going to lie On the business side, that scale was heavy because I was 80% of my time was going to my businesses. Because I'm in the ground building stage, I'm trying to go get it, go get it, go get it.

Speaker 1:

But let me tell you something, honey, not 12 years later, I think a little bit differently now. Okay, I think a little bit differently. Now I'm a long way through. I am thankful because let me just be honest God places opportunity in my path, right In my life, to say I've got more for you, but I need you to stop. I need you to be obedient. I need you to say something. You said that you wanted more. You said that you wanted more time with your children. You're more time with your husband, so I need you to stop.

Speaker 1:

So guess what he did? Almost seven years ago. This year he blessed me to be able to walk away from my career and do this full time. So now I have what you call time freedom. And because I have time freedom today, I now have the ability to move on my time and some days I'm like, girl, get it together. You ain't got the whole personal clock, no more. So I'm around here like you have to go punch somebody at somebody else's clock.

Speaker 1:

So today, where I used to give so many hours, like literally, I felt people don't understand. When you're an entrepreneur, you don't work 40 hours, you really work in like 80. You're trying to build something. So what? Yeah, I mean, we know right, but things that I quickly learn and I start really understanding like, listen, I didn't come this far. To come this far, it's like I'm not going to keep doing this cycle. Something's got to give. So I begin to outsource on some things. I begin to create. That's when I created a leadership team. I have hundreds of thousands of people under me.

Speaker 1:

I can't do this all by myself, so let me stop being selfish, trying to. I need to do everything. That's the me being the meticulous person that I am, I needed to keep my hands on everything. That's not healthy, ladies listeners out there. That's not healthy. Large, relinquished control and allow others to come in to help you. It is okay to say I need something. Listen, today I'm putting the hands up the knees in there, bose, and say I need all the help I can get. It's okay when you are in the position to have the time that I have that this.

Speaker 1:

I'm in the prime of my life where I want to live. I want to live boldly and freely, without the stress and the oh. I got to watch every little thing with my business. No, that's why you pay people, do certain things, you outsource and you put things into place. You put systems into place so that, while I'm in across the world, my business is still afloat. Awesome. That is how I balance work life balance.

Speaker 1:

But one of the other things in the last part of that, miss Paula, is my family. I do them, they are my wife, so they are my number one priority, everything. First of all, god is my number one priority. God comes, my family, and then everything else falls into place. And understand one of the things I had to come to understand. And I tell other women today guess what? It can wait. It's okay to say no. You do not have to accept every invite. Turn down some things so that you can take care of you first. I'm sorry, but nobody's giving out an Oscar for the most overworked female in the industry. All right, stop trying to be super woman and simply be. You understand. It's okay to take a break that whole cliche of no days off, that is a bunch of bull. Do you hear me, miss Paula? No, I love it because I hear it all the time.

Speaker 1:

I was telling like I don't know if they're taught this when they're all these coaches. Oh, it's 24, some week, up at five in the morning, I'm not in the band. Some midnight, I'm not into it. I'm like oh no, I'm on my time. Let me tell you something, but I have to admit I did that for quite some time and guess what? I may have had an attitude on some days. This is because I'm tired or I wasn't feeling. My best is because I'm not eating right. In a fact, so many ways mentally, spiritually, emotionally your whole self is affected.

Speaker 1:

So, as women today, stop trying to do it all and ask for help. Say no, go, take care of you before you try to take care of somebody else. And that is one of the things I want people to understand. I lead such a large team and have been leading such a large team for many years now, but one of the things that I, you know, I make sure I put me on the counter honey. So every month, let me tell you, give me high five, y'all Give me high five. I'm gonna say, let me put this count and put Alicia right here. You said you best to say it.

Speaker 1:

I was literally, and I didn't do that for quite some time. I was scheduling everything but me. There was no time for me just to sit back and relax. I love coffee. Go back, start going back to the coffee shops. I stopped going that I would pamper myself the way I want. I'd be like, okay, I'll go, two weeks later I'm going to go to school. We need that month. Stop compromising the things that bring you joy. So I, I, I listeners, I want you to understand stop rescheduling your joy. Stop rescheduling your joy. I'm putting you on the counter this season. That's awesome.

Speaker 1:

So delegate y'all here. I know that out in the corporate America is outsourced. You know I'm tired of military. So we say delegate as a leader in a military. Sometimes we want to put our hands on everything because we were scared that, oh, there'll be a lot of people that might not get the number right, they may not do this, but then we have to learn delegate. So you would run a small corporation. I mean, that's what you can call that over a hundred thousand people. Come on, girl, call it what it is. You are doing it. I mean a hundred thousand plus, that's a small corporation. And so, yeah, you need those, that leadership team, in place to help you with Cause. I know everybody has different personalities. Listen, that's a whole conversation for a whole day.

Speaker 1:

We have another podcast on never right, part two, part two. Well, I thank you for taking the time out coming on, because I know that you have a lot. I'm constantly on following you and I often talk to us that we didn't have and the lead in the line. I said, but I can't remember. It was a guest speaker in Vegas one year. He said follow the right cat. I said, so I'm following the right cat and I mean you know many of these hapers, I'm following you and so I just so appreciate you coming on. You know taking that time coming on Coffee, chit, chat, but we want people to be able to follow you and see your amazing journey and your story. So tell the listeners how they can follow you. Yes, first of all, let me thank you, thank you for the opportunity to come on and share.

Speaker 1:

I love my women. I love you know, keeping it real and just being very direct, because we have so many people who come on and they fluff and they just make it seem so easy. Honey, it is not. It is a war, it's a crime. I don't know Every single day, but with God, all things are possible. Just remember that.

Speaker 1:

So please connect with me, please follow me on my follow me social media pages Facebook, of course. You can follow me, alicia Rock Williams, and you can also follow me at Alicia A Williams. That's me. That's both of me. Ok, I'm going to have two Facebook accounts, but please follow me there again. Alicia Right Williams on Facebook and also on Facebook. Alicia A Williams On Instagram. You can follow me at im-alisha Williams and we're going to put this in the Facebook group. I've sent you an invite. I believe you accepted that. I did, I did. Thank you, we're definitely going to.

Speaker 1:

And you know what? I always leave with the quote of the week, and I did not pick one this week because you have such cute little signs. All the time. I take them and I put them in my team group. Look at this. This is all you know. This is profile. So I'm going to let you give us a quote of the week.

Speaker 1:

I will give you what I stated earlier, which is my mantra, and this season, as we today, we started chapter 2 of chapter 12. As you progress throughout this season and throughout this year, understand, no one else is you and that is your superpower. Take shape, charge and walk in your greatness, bet on you, because God has something amazing for you and I'm just telling you, if you just trust him, remove or put your, remove the distractions. Let me say that that's number one. So many women are distracted today, so I'm going to challenge each of you to remove the distractions and walk on within your journey. It's a faith. Walk Every day. Keep God near you.

Speaker 1:

I could not do what I do without him. That's why you see me smiling, happy. It is the peace and the joy. The favor is all him. It's all him because I cannot do this without him. I cannot do this without my support team, people who lift me up, which is my family, who pray for me every single day.

Speaker 1:

And if you don't think you need these people in your life because me as well, I got this Everybody wants somebody cheering for them and it's OK. It's OK to say that I need your support. I'm telling you I need your support. Paula, thank you for seeing me for who I am as an inspiration of women, of motivation, of women, of empowerment, because we, as women, we do not celebrate each other enough. We do not give each other our flowers when we know there's another sister who deserves this platform or this opportunity. So I want to thank you for seeing that in me. Oh, yes, and I'm just thanking you again for all those gems of knowledge. Listeners, I know you guys have enjoyed it and I know that you guys are going to take something from this and if you are a network marketer or you are an entrepreneur, whatever, your job is like an educator, because she touched on it all. You guys just let it soak in and thank you all so much. Make sure you tune in next week for another episode of Carpet Itch it.
