RG Morse

Keith Page is vying for the New Democratic Party (NDP) nomination in the new British Columbia federal riding of Columbia-Kootenay-Southern Rockies.

Page grew up on a working cattle ranch near Three Hills, Alberta. After building a successful small tech business in Nelson, he stepped into public service, serving as:

  • City Councillor, Nelson (currently in his second term)
  • Nelson Director, Regional District of Central Kootenay
  • President, Association of Kootenay Boundary Local Governments (representing 31 local governments)
  • Kootenay Boundary Rep, Union of British Columbia Municipalities

His political and community accomplishment include:

  • Co-developed Nelson Next Climate Action Plan (75% GHG reduction by 2032)
  • Established cross-jurisdictional non-profit housing partnerships, putting hundred of units into the pipeline
  • Led local government team to successfully advocate medical travel support for rural residents
  • Modernized district regional recreation services to improve rural access, youth and senior supports, and transformation of management structure
  • Successfully led UBCM emergency resolution on carbon pricing reform for local governments


NDP riding members will choose between Page and West Kootenay Regional Arts Council Executive Director Kallee Lins in an election February 27 that will determine the NDP candidate in the next federal election.
