John Kirkby, CBE, was raised in West Yorkshire, England and became orphaned at 18 years old. Anger and trouble followed and his career was a feared debt-collector. But soon, the tables were turned--John was the one in poverty and extreme debt. At the end of his rope and seemingly without hope, he found Jesus. As a result, John decided not just to quit his career, but to help those in extreme poverty find financial freedom, using his expertise to free them from their debt and point them to Jesus, the ONE who truly liberates us.

Christians Against Poverty is now the pre-eminent Christian ministry in the UK and serves the poor in several other countries.
