Beamer. 00:04:05.271 --> 00:04:12.796 Todd Beamer was one of many people that was on one of those flights that ended up being hijacked on that day. 00:04:12.796 --> 00:04:23.406 You remember there were several flights American Flight 11, a couple other flights, and the list goes on, and on American flight 11, a couple other flights, and the list goes on and on. 00:04:23.406 --> 00:04:31.152 But Todd Beamer was on United Airlines, I believe flight 93, and his plane was one of the last ones to take off that day that would be hijacked. 00:04:31.152 --> 00:04:38.427 The night before he had spent some time with his pregnant wife because they had just got back from a trip and he could have left on September 10th. 00:04:38.427 --> 00:04:39.841 But he said I wanted to spend some more time. 00:04:39.841 --> 00:04:41.826 He wanted to spend some more time with his wife before he left. 00:04:42.468 --> 00:04:47.756 He got up, went to the airport and had a 42 minute delay on the tarmac before they finally took off. 00:04:47.756 --> 00:05:08.530 They were eating breakfast and things were going normally when suddenly, without their knowledge, the hijackings began to occur one by one, by one at some point point on flight United 93, the hijackers on that plane decided to make a move and they pushed everybody to the back of the plane. 00:05:08.530 --> 00:05:10.141 They stabbed the individual. 00:05:10.141 --> 00:05:16.684 They pretended as if they had a bomb and then they overtook the cockpit and pushed all the passengers to the back of the plane. 00:05:16.684 --> 00:05:18.548 It was a terrible time. 00:05:18.548 --> 00:05:40.488 They didn't know what was going on and then they started to think to themselves maybe if we just give them what they want, maybe if we don't fight, maybe if we just be still and just go along with what the enemy's trying to do, that everything is going to be all right, because that's what happens when we are under attack. 00:05:41.750 --> 00:06:00.829 We often find ourselves with three choices that we have to make, and I wanted to hear this because some of you are under attack, and it was actually even just yesterday that this phrase that I'm about to give you came up yesterday in our active shooter training at the church. 00:06:00.829 --> 00:06:13.504 When you are under attack, you essentially have three choices men and women of God, pastor Q, when you're under attack, as a pastor, you got three choices you can either run, you can hide or you can fight. 00:06:13.504 --> 00:06:21.329 Now, it's natural right sometimes, when we are under attack to choose to run, because if I run from it that means I don't have to deal with it. 00:06:21.329 --> 00:06:27.403 And it's natural, if I come under attack, to hide, because if I hide enemy has come to kill, steal, steal and destroy. 00:07:39.447 --> 00:07:44.985 So running is not an option, because sometimes you're like you're in a plane, you don't really have anywhere to run. other as they call home. 00:08:10.286 --> 00:08:24.689 Some were able to sneak and call home and they got news, and the news was reported that the enemy on the other aircraft not only did they hijack the planes but had no intention of returning to anybody's airport that they were crashing into building after building. 00:08:24.689 --> 00:08:34.665 They had just hit the first tower, they hit the second tower, they'd hit the pentagon and now their plane was turning around and it was mr beamer, with many other passengers, that said you know what the enemy is attacking. 00:08:34.665 --> thousands of other lives, because it's undisputed that they were also headed to Washington DC. 00:09:46.108 --> 00:09:53.173 And had that plane made it to Washington DC, then many, many more lives
