Have you ever noticed how missing just one hour of sleep can completely derail your day? Our spiritual lives work the same way. When we neglect our connection with God, we operate from a place of depletion rather than divine fullness.

Drawing from John 14:27, we explore Christ's extraordinary promise: "Peace I leave with you, my perfect peace I give to you." This isn't the conditional, temporary peace the world offers—it's a supernatural tranquility that remains steadfast through every storm. Jesus, called the Prince of Peace in Isaiah 9:6, offers us rest that transforms not just our inner world but our capacity to serve others.

The beautiful truth is that we're never alone on this journey. When Jesus ascended to heaven, He ensured we wouldn't be left without help. Through the Holy Spirit dwelling in every believer, we now have continuous, 24/7 access to God's throne of grace. While the world aims to steal our peace and drain our energy, Christ has already overcome these challenges. He came not to burden us but to bring life more abundantly.

For those struggling to establish this vital connection, try the simple yet transformative 5-5-5 method: five minutes of Bible reading, five minutes of praise, and five minutes of prayer. What begins as a spiritual discipline often grows into a life-giving habit that leaves you rested in Him and ready to face whatever challenges come your way. Join us as we discover how to find perfect peace in an increasingly chaotic world. Subscribe now and make time with God the priority that changes everything else.

Hello and welcome to Mornings with Jesus, your daily dose of encouragement. I am your host, joshua Scott Zaitz. Today's encouragement comes from John, chapter 14 and verse 27. The Amplified Version reads Peace. I leave with you, my perfect peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. Let my perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.

Have you ever felt tired or sluggish during the day, like you just needed a little extra sleep? I know I do. If I'm short, just one hour of sleep for whatever reason, it messes with my entire day. Likewise, failing to spend one-on-one time with the Lord is a recipe for disaster. Jesus is called the Prince of Peace in Isaiah 9, in verse 6, the Bishop of our souls 1 Peter, 2.25. 25 and the author and finisher of our faith Hebrews 12 2. When our minds and hearts are stayed on him, we feel rested and ultimately, we are available to be used by God to bless others.

The awesomely good news is this we are never alone. When Jesus ascended into heaven, he did a tag-te team handoff with the Holy Spirit, who has now come to reside within the heart of every born again believer. This means that we have 24-7 access to the very throne of grace. What a mighty God we serve. Listen, we live in a world that wants to chew us up and spit us out, but take heart. Jesus has overcome the world. John 16, 33. He said I leave my peace not as the world with some twisted ulterior motive, but as I give to bring you hope, life and joy. John 10, 10 says it's the thief who wants to steal, kill and destroy you, but Jesus wants to bring you life, and it more abundantly. Therefore, take heart today, be encouraged, run to Jesus. He wants to make you free and fill you up so much that you always feel rested in him. It's in this place of rest that you are ready and willing to reach out to those around you. The world's not got nothing on you when you are rested in him.

If you're having trouble starting, I want to share something that my pastor shares. He calls it the five, five, five, five minutes of Bible, five minutes of praise, five minutes of prayer. This is an awesome place to start. Don't be discouraged. You got this. Start right where you are and do this simple thing. It may be awkward at first, but if you will do this on a consistent basis, over time you will find that your time in these things will increase and your walk with the Lord will grow by leaps and bounds will increase. And your walk with the Lord will grow by leaps and bounds. You will become rested. Remember until next time what you make happen for others, god will make happen for you.
