Do you ever feel like you're playing different characters depending on where you are and who you're with? From parent to professional, church member to community volunteer, we all wear multiple hats in life—and sometimes the constant role-switching can leave us feeling spiritually disconnected.

Drawing from Colossians 3:24, this episode dives deep into the challenge of maintaining an authentic Christian witness across all areas of life. Rather than compartmentalizing our faith or becoming "spiritual chameleons," we explore the liberating truth that our identity remains constant because our lives are "hidden with Christ in God."

The secret to consistency isn't trying harder to manage different personas. Instead, it comes through intentionally setting our minds on eternal things rather than earthly concerns. This heavenly focus creates an internal compass that guides our interactions regardless of context. We don't have to stress about which "crowd" we're with because we're always looking for opportunities to encourage, bless, and uplift others.

Most refreshingly, this approach doesn't demand constant "ministry mode." We can fully enjoy recreation, entertainment, and relaxation while still doing everything "as unto the Lord." Whether through meaningful conversations or simple acts of kindness, we can wear a thousand different hats while remaining a consistent light in each one. What roles will you embrace today with this eternal perspective?

Hello and welcome to Mornings with Jesus, your daily dose of encouragement. I am your host, joshua Scott Zaitz. Today's encouragement comes from Colossians, chapter 3 and verse 24. And whatsoever you do, do it hardly as to the Lord and not unto men, knowing that of the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance, for you serve the Lord Christ.

Have you ever noticed how many different hats we wear? You may or may not wear a physical hat, but what I'm talking about are the various roles each of us plays. Some of us are parents, siblings, grandparents, employees, bosses, teachers, students the list is endless. The point being, we have many different roles to play. You ever find it difficult switching between them. For example, we go to work and we are around different people. We go to church and yet another differing crowd. We go home and we are with family. We go here, there and everywhere, on any given day, on any given week, and it can be quite overwhelming at times keeping up with it all.

As we endeavor to walk with the Lord, being a light to those around us, how do we keep from becoming one way in front of one set of people and another way in front of a different set of people? How can we become more consistent in our walk with the Lord and in our witness for Him? Here's one great way. Colossians 3, verses 2 and 3, says Set your affections on things above, not on the things of the earth, for you are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God. Of course, this is easier said than done at times, and it's going to take having our minds renewed to the word of God. However, if we will, on purpose, make it a habit of focusing on things that truly matter on a consistent basis habit of focusing on things that truly matter on a consistent basis it will keep us both consistent and focused.

By doing this, we don't have to fret about what crowd we find ourselves in, because we are always on the lookout for someone to encourage, bless and uplift in one way or another. Sometimes this can equate to bigger things, like leading someone to the Lord or praying with someone, but it may also include simply being a listening ear, spending time with someone offering a hug, a smile, a small word of encouragement. Listen, we don't have to be in full-time ministry mode all the time. We can relax, have fun, kick up our feet, take vacations, enjoy various entertainments, and we can do it all as unto the Lord, always ready at any given moment to give an answer for the hope that we have on the inside.

By renewing our minds to the word of God, gaining consistent eternal outlook on life and being ready always to give an answer to the hope of Jesus that we have. We can wear a thousand hats and still be a light in each one. Be encouraged today. No matter what role you have on the agenda today, you can do them all as unto the Lord. Remember until next time what you make happen for others, god will make happen for you.
