#76: China and the U.S., Crypto, and Expanding Surveillance States w/ Kurtis Warren and Roger Huang

Jordan Vezeau Episode 76

I bring back technologist and financial pundit Kurtis Warren (founder of FUNK Coffee), this time with a new friend, author and financial writer Roger Huang! We get into a bit of financial history of China, China's stance on cryptocurrencies, differences between Mainland China and Hong Kong, wars with sticks and stones, and the monumental meeting at the military parade between Putin, Xi Jinping, and Kim Jong Un. We also get into 2026 Bitcoin predictions (not financial advice folks), why China is buying so much gold, the true importance of the rare earths and minerals, China's population (are they over-reporting?), the expansion of surveillance states (they know how we think), and recent Chinese military scandals. Finally, Kurtis tells us how Bitcoin is the signal in a room full of noise, Roger urges us to know our technologies and their future consequences, and we ponder whether all of our thoughts are truly our own. Another great episode to help tie up 2025!
