SPEAKER_01

All right, welcome back to the Hunting Roots Podcast. Rodie Swisher here alongside me, my boy Rimbo. Rimbo, welcome to episode 251. It's good to be here. It's good to be back. Sun is shining finally here in I say finally. It shines every day, but the problem is in the afternoon every day. It's like stinking the panhandle of Florida. You know, when we go to Florida and you got the the uh you go down there for spring break or anytime really, uh go down there to the beach, and every day it'd be beautiful. And then at some point in the afternoon starts pouring over. Pouring down rain. You got the afternoon rain. That's what we've had here in West Tennessee for weeks now. It's been rain, rain, every day rain. So it's been uh quite the mud hole out there in the garden, and uh it's hard to get much done. It rains, sun pops out, you gotta mow the grass every three or four days, been crazy. So we appreciate you guys jumping on with us this week. This is again episode 251. This podcast is brought to you by our good friends at Onex Hunt. Onexmaps.com is the website you can go and see what it's all about. Find out about the skinny on this app, the official hunting app of the Hunting Roots crew. Uh we use it all the time and uh been using it this morning, navigating, running some distances, uh checking distances, confirming distances, and so I love it. You'll love it. Check it out on xmaps.com. Also, big thanks to the Mossyoak crew. Mossyoke.com is that website, and man, Rimbo, I'm looking forward to getting back into the Mossy Oak. You know what I'm saying? It's like uh summertime rolls around. We're gonna talk today about some of the stuff we do to scratch the itch in the summertime. But uh, I'm looking forward to getting saddled back up, camoed up, putting the moss yoke back on, and you think about it, here we are, mid-July, and we're just over a month away from Velvet Buck hunting. So closing in. We've got a lot to do between now and then. A lot of shooting, a lot of arrows to be flung between here and there. But that's exciting, exciting times. So, hey, we just got back from, we'll just quickly recap, Rimbo, our uh camp experience. Just got back from Manderly Camp, took a group of students to the mountain there at Manderley, and uh great week. Rimbo, tell me your top top three. Should we go top three? Top three picks from camp, top three favorite things from Manderly Camp 2026. Can you think about it a minute?

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so I really like the pinnacle hike we did.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And that's just pretty much just a hike that you're going straight up. And that was fun. Um the first night they had Killer Dodgeball. That was really fun. And then I guess just the memories made were great.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Memories made. Uh memories that last a lifetime. That's what Dave, Dave Security, camp director, that's what he was saying, is we're gonna make a memory today. You know, we hiked up the mountain up on the pinnacle there, uh, Pinnacle Trail. Is it Pinnacle Trail? I guess it's the name of somebody on some trail, and then it's Pinnacle, Pinnacle Mountain or Pinnacle Hill or whatever. But he said that. He said, today we're gonna make a memory. And uh when you do tough stuff, when you when you pony up and you get ready to roll and you do tough tough stuff, you do, you make memories that we talk about forever. Like, hey, you remember that we've talked about that a number of times since we got back. It wasn't the craziest trail, you know, it's four miles-round trips and not just hateful. Um we've climbed harder stuff. Uh I say climbed, hiked harder stuff than that. But it was no cakewalk either. It wasn't for the the weak at heart, it wasn't for the weak-legged, uh, weak-minded people. You know, you you you better have a little bit about you to make it happen. In fact, there was one day, uh me and Aiden went up twice. We went up two days in a row with two different groups, but and I think the first day, I think everybody kind of hung with it. There might have been one guy that went back. Second day though, we weren't far into the hike in um first quarter of a mile, maybe. Probably probably first quarter of a mile, if that. And there was a girl there that she just said, Hey, uh, I feel like I'm she was kind of lagging behind pretty quick. And, you know, not in the best shape or whatever, but she just pretty early on said, I feel like I'm about to puke. And I immediately thought, you know, there's those there's some people we had to say, Hey, come on, you got this, keep keep moving. Foot in front one foot in front of the other, keep moving.

SPEAKER_00

The thing I don't get about this is that I don't remember there ever being like somebody ever going back though. Like on the day I went, I don't remember everybody like really lagging back.

SPEAKER_01

That's good. You were so far ahead. You took off.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I was like up in the front with Mr.

SPEAKER_01

Dave. Yeah, you were front of the pack. You were leading the pack, so you didn't you didn't care about the people in the back.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I said, should we wait up on them? But they're but the people in front of us like uh were like nah. Nah, keep going.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Y'all never look back. You didn't care that some of us were back there. Um puking your guts out. Puking their guts out and near death. Um no, this this girl though, she said, uh-uh, I'm feeling like I'm about to puke. And I thought, man, that's not good. We just got started. We are on the easy part still. If you feel like you're about to puke now, you might want to go on back and just we're we're we're not that far from the van. Just head on back now, sweetie. You better just get on back.

SPEAKER_00

Uh Honestly, that first mile was the hardest part, though. Yeah. Because after that, it's pretty even.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's what Dave said. You go up three quarters of a mile, which is most of a mile, and then you hit that flat and you start working your way around the side of the mountain. And uh so yeah, first three-quarters of a mile, pretty much there wasn't much uh there really wasn't. There was one Z cut and the you know, switch back. But other than that, it was pretty much just hoofing straight up the hill, you know, and uh good steady incline. And again, some people you say, hey, you got this, just come on, you can handle this, don't quit now. You know, we had Jesse the first, uh, Jesse was one of those um little dudes, and and he was like, I don't think I like this. You know, he kept whining, you know, thinking, I'm not gonna do this, I don't this is horrible. What did I get myself into? Kind of whining, making excuses, and and kind of setting himself up to fail. And we were just like, come on, dude, you got this. But then you got some of those people you think they can do this, they just gotta get it in their head. That girl there, she didn't have it in her head, nor does she have it in her body and legs either. I just thought, man, she's she she can't handle this, she won't handle this, she's not gonna want to do this, and she's fixing puke, she's gonna pass out, whatever, you know, and so we just gave her the pass and let her head on back to the van. But for the rest of 'em, there was plenty of 'em. Sabrina. Sabrina was a whiner, first half mile, never even got to the water stand, you know, water station, the first water station. She's like, This is horrible, this is stupid, and I hate this, you know.

SPEAKER_00

And her friend Amanda is like, shut up and walk.

SPEAKER_01

Shut up and keep moving. And that's good stuff there. That's a good illustration. That's a good um just a good point to to park on for a second. And that's what we need. And I I shared that with them. You need people in your life, you can just say, hey, that we'll say to you, hey, shut up, keep moving. You know what I'm saying? Keep walking, keep stepping. It hurts, it stinks, you're not having fun, you're miserable, but keep moving. Quit your complaining, shut your face, and keep moving. Keep walking, keep hiking, and and stay in the current and stay in the game, stay in the journey, you know, and just keep moving. Because if you do, if you if you sit down, a lot of people want to sit down, like my legs are tired, I want to sit down. But you know when you sit down, I always tell folks, don't sit down. That may not be the best advice, I don't know. But it seems like when I sit down, then all of a sudden my muscles kind of relax, and then it hurts and it starts all over, and then it's like you, whatever. If you can kind of stand there, maybe stop for a minute and just keep standing around or keep walking around in place or something, don't let your muscles get too chilled, you know, just let them stay stay ready, stay focused, and uh catch your breath a second and keep moving. But if you sit there and sit down and park it, and let your body settle down, let your mind settle down, like, hey, I like this better. I like sitting on my butt better than than to stay in the journey, stay in the battle. Um, it's easy to quit. And so um I I really appreciated what Amanda said to her friend. Hey, shut up, keep hiking. And uh, we need those kind of people in our life. We need people that tell us, hey man, just zip it. Zip it, zippy, and get moving. You know what I'm saying? Keep going. You got it. There's no reason for you to quit. Keep going. And that's so important to have those kind of people in our life. So I really appreciated them. Hiking and up two miles to the top, real pretty view up there. So um good stuff there. Pinnacle Hike was one of the favorites, and then you said um I have a couple favorites.

SPEAKER_00

Like Pinnacle Hike, Killer Dodgeball. Killer Dodgeball, yeah. Um Chapel was good. Yeah. But and then again, just the memories.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, make memories with friends, yeah. You uh camp is is there's no better place in camp, summer camp to do that, to make memories with friends and and just grow closer to one another, develop friendships, uh relationships. I mean, gosh, I think about it. Camp, I mean you, Rimbo, would not be here had God not brought me and your mama together at a camp. You know what I'm saying? At a camp. The very camp we were at is just over the hill, the other side of the mountain from where your mom and I met, and we've talked about this all the time, obviously, but right there. Last week, July 10th was our anniversary, and they were there we were. We were up in the same place, same little part of the world where she and I met at camp. And so, yeah, good stuff happens at camp, relationships uh that last a lifetime, literally. Families made and established, God ordained relationships, marriages, all that good stuff happens at camp. So don't miss out, folks that are listening. Don't miss out on the opportunity to go to camp, take people to camp, be a part of camp, support camp, whatever it is. It's good stuff. We had a big time. I did. I enjoyed uh just sharing memories. I enjoyed that. It's probably my favorite. Definitely my favorite was uh hiking up on the mountain. I like to hike, I like to the challenge of a hike. I like it a little more. Um maybe there's some meat on the back or a bow in the hand or whatever. Those kind of hikes are a little better, maybe.

SPEAKER_00

Like with the deer head on the back.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, a little pack out with some skull or something, you know, maybe. But uh but I do like a nice leisure hike too. I like just hiking, just uh seeing new country, going down a trail I've never been down. That's always fun too. So good times, good memories, good people. Uh God did some cool stuff up there, changed some hearts, got some people right where they needed to be. Still working on some others, and uh that was cool too, just to talk to some people that said, hey, I'm not there yet spiritually, but I'm want to be, and I'm working on it, and I'm I'm getting there. And so be praying for the students that were a part of last week's camp. Always a good time. We came back, I think, a little bit sick. You're kind of froggy. I'm kind of froggy. I've been sucking on the Ricola. Ricola? Ricola? Ricola, I don't know how you say the word, the name. The cough drops. You got some funky junk going on too.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, mine's not that bad. Part of it's half is puberty.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And then the other half is like, I might have gotten a tiny sick, I'm not sure. But or maybe I lost my voice a little bit.

SPEAKER_01

50% puberty, I like that. Half of it's puberty. We need to put that on a t-shirt. I'm not that bad. Half of it's puberty. Good. Well, let's talk about it. Here we are. Like I said, we're about a month and a half, uh, five weeks, I don't know, somewhere in there from bow season. Not bow season, but velvet buck hunt. Our first hunt of the year will be Velvet Buck season here in Tennessee, and so that's pretty good stuff. We're looking forward to that. But how do we stay sharp? How do we help pass the off-season blues? The off-season blues being just that, like summertime's here. Uh we're working in the garden, we're working on spots. We don't get carried away with a lot of off-season food plot stuff, you know. The places we've got are just it. You know, they're just they are what they are. We got farmers that are grow crops around some of it, some of it doesn't have anything. We don't we just don't we don't do a lot of food plots, you know. We don't have to. I will do some here on our own property. But um, so we do take a nice break in the summertime. Um try not to go crazy. I seem like back in the day I used to go and I would just go hard with coyote hunting and doing all kinds of stuff, and it's like there is no off-season. I'm hunting every month of the year. Older I get, the less I'm just inclined to do that, but I still like to scratch the itch. How do you scratch the itch in the off-season? I want to hear from some of you guys. I uh I know one of the listeners, Logan, um I think down in Georgia, and he he sent a message the other day. They were in a hog stand, up in a tree stand, waiting on hogs, bow hunting for hogs, and I thought that's kind of cool. That's kind of makes me jealous just a bit. I wish I was hog hunting in the middle of summertime, as hot as that is. I've done some of that. Miserable down that down in Texas. Summertime hogs in Texas is brutal. Uh Florida, I guess the extent of my hog hunting has been in Florida and Texas, but both of which are pretty brutal in the summertime. I know Aiden killed some hogs in June several years ago when we were down there speaking in Pensacola, Florida, that was pretty rough, and a blind in Florida in June, but he killed two hogs. That was pretty good. But what are the things that you do in the off season? Rimbo, what are some things that we do to help pass the time? Critters that we kill through the summer months to keep us holding on. Some of the things we do.

SPEAKER_00

One of the things I mean, we always look out for coyotes and predators like fox, coyotes, bobcats, coons, any egg eaters or chicken eaters. But honestly, for me, there's not really much I really do. It's just like not that I'm not that I don't it's not that I'm not looking forward to deer season, it's just like I'm not like one of those people that like has to find something to do.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you're not you're not out there eagerly seeking out something to kill in June and July. And I get that. And just to clarify and back things up, we do keep an eye on our farm and our property in the summer all year long. You mentioned foxes and bobcats. Obviously, we can't shoot foxes and bobcats in the summer months as far as a hunting season. They're off limits. Cows you can kill year-round. Foxes, bobcats, they are a season for those. Now you obviously got to protect your property, right? You got to protect your home uh and property, your life if you're threatened. Your animals, your cats, your dogs? Yeah, you've got to protect your life and property, and you have the right to do that. Uh we have had to take care of some business around here before on critters that were attacking stuff. Lives were endangered. And so we we have had times where we've um taken care of business on critters and just to protect our home and lives around the home, livestock and and whatnot. But coyotes are the big thing that we chase in the summertime. So let's just go through some of the things that I've enjoyed over the years. Uh I'm looking at my first article that your mama uh uh matted on that uh frame that had it framed years ago. It was my first article ever published, and and it's that it says Hunting the Coyote, the ultimate predator, a cure for the off-season blues. It's a picture of me with a coyote from back in probably 25 years ago or more. Uh coyote in summertime, got a fallen decoy there, and that was just it. Chasing coyotes in the middle of summertime, one of the cures for the off-season blues. I always loved it going out. I still do, but I just don't go near as much anymore. Um coyotes are a big one. Um one of the things we saw, and I enjoy this, and I think I would love to pursue it more, especially with the bow, because it's just it's just fun. And I used to do it, we'd set up pop-up ground lines in problem or nuisance areas, pop up a ground line, sit inside with the bow, and they have no idea you're there when they pop up. You know what it is. You saw them the other day down from the movie theater in town. They were everywhere on their road. You can pretty much go any day on a sunny day, and there will be some on the side of the road right there. What am I talking about, Rimbo?

SPEAKER_00

Either a buzzard or a crow.

SPEAKER_01

Ain't wrong. What am I talking about? They're little brown creatures across from the movie theater.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, groundhogs.

SPEAKER_01

Groundhogs, dude. I thought you didn't think right. You I don't know what you thought I was doing. Crows. But anyway, yeah, groundhogs. They're everywhere.

SPEAKER_00

They're certain places four on the way to the movies. We're watching Young Washington, and there's like four.

SPEAKER_01

Four of them out at one spot. And I want so bad. Every time I pass by them, I'm thinking, how could I kill those things?

SPEAKER_00

They're kind of cute though. Kind of cute. They're faces.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know how you see that. I don't see cuteness when I see them. I think about like little vandals. I think about little destructive.

SPEAKER_00

No, just think of an armadella when you think of a vandal.

SPEAKER_01

Groundhogs are so destructive, that's what they do. They they are hogs in the ground. They tear up holes, they tear up foundations, they burrow under your barn or your house, and yeah, they're terrible, horrible. You can call them cute all you want to, but they're destructive. And every time I drive by and see them on that little road, it's the little road right in the city limits right there by our movie theater here in town, and they're out there all the time. And I promise you, every time I go by one, I see one or two, and I'm thinking, I'm just scheming. You know how it is? I'm like, what if I took the other day I drove by thinking, all right, what if I went by there with a on an e-bike with a blow dart gun? Could I do that?

SPEAKER_00

Because first of all, you really think you're gonna come all the way from Shady Grove Road to the movie theaters, which I don't even know how many miles that is.

SPEAKER_01

Not that far. Let's say six, six miles. So that's kind of far. It's kind of far, but all you gotta do is drive your truck into town, park at the park, hop out on your bike and do a drive-by. Is it legal? We'd have to look into ramifications are first off, is it legal?

SPEAKER_00

Because I don't think it's good for your bike to be on a road. Oh, but then are you just gonna like pedal with no hands on the bike and then shoot it with your blow dart gun?

SPEAKER_01

I think you just you just pedal up there to it, and they see people in their cars all the time, they see people on bikes all the time, and just kind of slowly come to stop.

SPEAKER_00

If you want to do that, you could just walk up on them.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, so first off, first things first, you gotta figure out whose property is.

SPEAKER_00

You know, it's probably like the little edge they're on. It's probably just like city property.

SPEAKER_01

City. City property. Okay, so there's one thing to look into. Can we shoot a blow dart gun? Can we kill an animal on city property? We're gonna have to make a video about this. I don't know. Can you kill can you kill a groundhog on city property? Whose property is it? We've got to establish that. Can you shoot a blow dart gun? Is that considered a weapon? Is that considered a we call it a blow dart gun? It's a gun. How's it classified? We need to look into these things because I thought that would be pretty sweet. Shoot a blow dart gun at a groundhog. You better shoot it good. You better have one of them little broadhead tips on it. Them things are bad news, man. I've shot them with my bow over the years, and then if you hit them good, hit them in the chest, hit them in the vitals, they don't make much. But if you hit them in the guts, them suckers will flog and thrash on your arrow, and they'll get back down the hole. So you gotta make a good shot. Headshot, chest shot, using broadheads. It's so fun, though. They're so big. And we usually have one right out this window. Every year I see, I feel like we kill one off of this dozer pile out here in the front. Uh shot one last year with that new gun. I got a little 22 thumped in. I was the one who shot it. You shot one, but I shot one as well. You remember? I got a picture of me holding one up. And then you shot one the year before, I think it was. Or maybe I was the year before and you shot last year. Whatever it was. When you posted that video again, that was pretty good. Um so groundhogs. Groundhogs are are fun. They're big, they're a big old chunky animal, and uh they're just great. I mean, they're fun to shoot with a gun, but I really like sitting up with a bow. And again, you can find out where they're burrowing up. I've had people call me and say, hey, I got this groundhog's tearing up the ground by my barn or my shop. Can you come get it? And I'll go over there and pop the ground blind up, put the double bull up early in the morning and get in there in my little camp chair, waiting with my bow. And sure enough, you know, they'll tell you what time of day. We see them out there every day at 2 o'clock, you know, whatever time you need to be there. And sure enough, they'll pop up and they'll be seven, eight yards from you or whatever, just right there, and they pop up. They have no idea you're in that blind. It's so fun.

SPEAKER_00

Just put signs up all around town. If you need your groundhog dispatched, call Brody.

SPEAKER_01

Call Rimbo, and uh we will fix you up. So groundhogs are fun. Love that. Cows are fun. Uh, crows. You talk about a pretty sporty little deal is crow hunting. And uh Tennessee season has changed a little bit on this. Um, there is a season for crows. A lot of people don't realize that. They think crows you can just shoot them all time. Crows migrate, though. There is a season for those things and Ours is weird. I can't ever remember how it goes. Seems like it goes from June to whatever and then stops again around to see. I don't know, whatever. It's a season for it. And I always have to check it because I always kind of screw that up and get it wrong or make sure that I'm in the right season. But then it was like it was weird because it was like Friday, Saturday, Sunday. You can only shoot them on the weekends or something. It was kind of a weird deal, too, on that. Not sure what that's all about. It'd be interesting to look into why they do that and whatnot. But uh, and I don't even know if that's still the case now. But I do know this at our church. I'll share a story with you. At our church, we've had some nuisance crows. A little family crows hang out in family groups. When they're not migrating, they'll have their little family groups or whatever, or maybe they're locals, residents, I don't know, whatever. But they'll have their family groups, and when they hone in on an area, man, they're they they get real protective, they get real defensive and territorial. And we've been noticing, and some of the people at church, the secretary and the custodian, different people church have been coming up to him and saying, hey, there are some crows out there, and and a preacher came by and several of them all said the same thing. We've been hearing these crows banging on the door, banging on the door. And right outside the office door, sure enough, these crows come up there and they're just pow, pow, pow, pow, pow, just pecking. Big old beak. You know, crows have a huge beak slamming on the glass door. And what they're doing is they're seeing themselves in the reflection of themselves in the glass door, and they're trying to fight that. You know, turkeys do the same thing. We've talked about that before. You know the video I've got where turkeys were fighting the truck or the chrome tires or the bumper, it sees itself in the reflection, and it's trying to, you know, fight it. And that's what they're doing. They're seeing themselves in the in the door, and they're flighting, fighting it, flogging it, pecking on it, crow crap everywhere. Miss Vicky's like, there's mess, crow mess everywhere. She's out there with the hose, hosing off the crow poop every day, because we're up there just making a big mess. So they start talking about the need for some help and how what are we gonna do with these crows? I'm like, I know what we can do with these crows. Well, before camp last week, we bring the van out because the van's covered in bird crap too. And I'm like, this gotta be crow crap because it's big. It ain't like the little dinky jum, it's big mess everywhere. And the crows are the van's parked under a little garage roof. So I pull the gar the van out to the hose, hose all the crow crap off of it, get it all cleaned up for camp. And then later that day the crows were back right back out there. So, you know, I start talking to the folks. I'm like, hey, I'm gonna take care of the crows. I got this. So I go up there, I guess it was, I don't know, whatever day it was, get up there early one morning. It was right before we left for camp, I guess, because that's the deal. I was like, I've got to get these crows dealt with because they're they're making a mess. Tearing up the van. And literally, they're pecking the van. They've there's spots on the van where the paint's gone. They've pecked the van and paint's chipped off. It's a mess. Sure enough, I get up there early. I come to the church with weapons. Now listen, um, I I just just don't be freaking out. But I mean, this is all, it's nothing sneaky about this. Um and I'm sitting in there and watching for these things. Sure enough, they fly down, they fly down off the roofs and go straight to the van. And they're on top of the van, they're on the hood, they're on the uh roof of the van, they fly up on the hitch on the back, and they're seeing themselves and fighting with themselves in the chrome bumper, and just just going crazy. And um, it was wild, and and man, I'm back and forth looking from window to window, thinking how I'm gonna make my move, how am I make my approach? Got multiple guns. Uh one point they flew back up to Roost, and then they could fly out in front at about 45 yards. I'm thinking that's a little too far for the shotgun. Uh, just old light loads, whatever. Long story short, they made multiple trips back and forth to the van, just beating the snot out of the van, pecking it, crapping on it, just just destructive. Long story short. Crows. I made my move. Dispatched one. When I shot the first one, the others flew. There's three of them hanging out, two of them together, and one of them kind of standing off by himself like he was an outcast. Shoot the one, dump it, the other fly up in the tree. Right there past it, and a little further. Dump that one. Two shots, two kills. Crow's gone. Hadn't seen any more issues, no more crap on the vans. I don't know what the other one's done if he's gone on to find him a mate elsewhere or whatever, but uh I must tell you, man, I was more excited just making my moves, going from the window to window, went over to the nursery corner room, we'll go back to the other room, just make, you know, sniping. The old sniper style, it brought the excitement, man. I mean, clearly, I was itching for some trigger time, itching to make a kill. Um, and it was it was fun, dude. I enjoyed that. It kind of brought some spark back. Uh this long off-season summertime, getting to shoot a few crows, good stuff. So we need to go and do some crow hunting with the collar and all that. That's a that's sporty. If you don't have a little electronic collar, you need to get you one and try the crows. You say, I like to duck hunt well. A lot of times you don't get to shoot much on the wet ducks, depending on where you're hunting. Crows, you always use a counter shooting some crows, and they come fast, they come aggressive, pretty fun stuff. Sporty. Crows, coyotes, groundhogs. Rimbo, what else do we like to shoot in the offseason? Anything else come to mind? A little bow fishing. Shooting.

I'm sad that we have not done bow fishing at all this summer.

We gotta get that boat out. Boat seems to be back in business, so we need to get that get that out. Maybe we'll try that tomorrow. Maybe we'll try that tomorrow for the sun's shine. We'll go out and make a little run, see if we can find some guard to shoot, maybe a midday run, and then get fired up for a night run too. Boat fishing's a lot of fun if you never bow fished. Uh we live here close to Kentucky Lake, so uh one of the best spots in the country, honestly, for it. But uh boat fishing's the best of everything. It's it's it's fishing, it's hunting, it's bow hunting, it's archery, sometimes swimming if you don't be careful, uh boating, it's all of it in one packaging. So bow fishing is uh is a ton of fun. Sure enough, like that stuff. And uh good times. Hogs, gouts, crows, groundhogs, bow fishing. What are we missing? What do we like to do shooting stuff in the off season? I think that's about that's about the extent of our basics. So if you find yourself kind of itching, like I can't wait till September, I can't wait till August. I can't wait till October, I gotta kill something now. I want to encourage you to take part of one of these right here. They'll get you through. Those are the things that kind of help us hold on, keep on keeping on, and uh get us through to the off season. So try them for yourself, I'm sure. You know, any of them. When it's going down, it's good stuff. Hey, let me finish us up with a word from the word. Ephesians 6, 13 says this. Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you'll be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then having, excuse me, then after the battle, you will stand, excuse me, you will still be standing firm. I'm gonna read that again because I botched that. Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle, you will still be standing firm. Put on every piece of God's armor. You know, it talks about that. The belt, the breastplate, the helmet, all the different pieces of God's armor. Why? So you can stand firm. You can resist the enemy, resist the devil in the time of evil. He's out there attacking, uh relentless. Uh man, remember we've got a spiritual warfare going on. Things that we can't see, uh, the unseen world, if we could see it all, man, you'd see there's a battle going on for our hearts or minds, and we got to armor up, we've got to suit up and be ready, God's armor, so we can resist the enemy in the time of evil. That's right now. I mean, we're we got evil all around us, evil days. Then it says after the battle, you will still be standing firm. What's the song you like to sing? I'm still standing. You know what I'm saying? I mean, you sing it. You know, anyway, still standing. When the battle's over, we watched that movie the other night. Young Washington, when the battle was over, who's still standing? Young Washington. You know? The enemy's on the ground, you're still standing, and that's the name of the game for spiritual battle as well. We want to be the one still standing, and we know the victory is ours in the end. Suit up, armor up, be ready to go to battle against the evil one only with Jesus on your side. You can't do it alone. You ain't gonna do it alone. You've got to have Jesus and be on his side. So, good word from the Word this week. Rimbo, I love you. Thank you for being here and appreciate you guys listening. As always, we thank you so much for hanging out with us each week.
