Show Notes

For this 2020 episode of Fanachu! Tun Antonio Cruz White and his son Alex are the guests, telling the story of their family, which begins in prewar Guam, goes through Japanese occupation and the Manenggon March, to migrating to the states after the war and working to reconnect the Mariana Islands today.

Tun Antonio and Alex would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land upon which they recorded the podcast from, which is the ancestral home and unceded, occupied territory of the Tséstho’e (Cheyenne), Jicarilla Apache, and Núu-agha-tʉvʉ-pʉ̱ (Ute) peoples who have been living, working and stewarding that land since time immemorial. They pay their respects to the elders past, present, and emerging - for they hold the memories, traditions, and culture of their people across the nation.

This episode was prerecorded and initially aired on Facebook on November 14, 2020 and was hosted by Michael Lujan Bevacqua.
