Death With Dignity Podcast
The Death With Dignity Podcast was founded by Andrew Flack, a 33-year-old living with terminal cancer, to explore the emotional, spiritual, and practical realities of end-of-life choice. Through conversations with experts from a range of backgrounds, Andrew created a space for honest dialogue that delved deeply into the social, theological and political challenges surrounding Medical Aid in Dying (MAID).
After Andrew’s passing, his friend and co-host Hasban Shaikh continued the podcast to honor his legacy, carrying forward its mission to explore stories and perspectives on what it means to die with dignity.

Brittany Maynard was perhaps the greatest advocate for Medical Aid in Dying in the state of California. Diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2013, Brittany was forced to leave her home state of California in a move to Oregon so she could take advantage of their Medical Aid in Dying law. Her husband, Dan Diaz, was with her throughout this experience, supporting and loving her throughout her bout with cancer. In this episode, Dan Diaz joins us to share Brittany’s story, why Medical Aid in Dying was so important to her, and why he continues to be an advocate for the movement today.
