Ben Stein's Dad Jokes and Outreach

Emeal Zwayne

So okay , then let's , let's jump into it . So , Mark , you guys get to London . I mean , throw in whatever you want as well . But my main question is what was the atmosphere like ? I mean , was was the place buzzing people ?

Mark Spence

Okay , well , i need to back up a little bit because I feel like I need to and I don't want to get emotional . But I have to apologize to Ray , because I remember being in Daniel's office telling Ray that this is not gonna work and this is the most amazing thing that I've ever been a part of .

Emeal Zwayne

Welcome to the Ben Stein dad joke challenge , where an Arab tells a dad joke and a Ben Stein voice , and the challenge is that none of us hosts on the Living Waters podcast laughs . This includes the Arab guy who's telling the dad joke . I really believe that we can definitely get through this without any of us laughing .

Ben Stein (voice) - EZ

Why do fathers take an extra pair of socks when they go golfing In case they get a hole in one ?

Ray Comfort

Sorry , we're not supposed to laugh . Yeah , that was actually good .

Ben Stein (voice) - EZ

I like that easy dear man , are you left ? Dear math , grow up and solve your own . This isn't going so well .

Oscar Navarro

That was hilarious .

Ben Stein (voice) - EZ

What did the janitor say when he jumped out of the closet supplies ? Why do ? why do seagulls fly over the ocean ? Because if they flew over the bay , we'd call them bagels . Oh .

Emeal Zwayne

Okay , I'm done Because I thought we would make it and I thought I got to get a lot because we probably won't crack . Oh , oh , what tears my eyes guys , what is it about Ben Stein ? I mean seriously wait , do we ?

Ray Comfort

Everybody knows who Ben .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , we did , we did , it was out of .

Oscar Navarro

Somewhere expelled that's right Oh .

Emeal Zwayne

Like a documentary yeah , but he was famous for advertisements before you were born and always Fairs day . Yeah , I'm more you know in a movie too .

Ray Comfort

What is it ?

Emeal Zwayne

But I do want to listen to him . As soon as I hear his voice , it's the most boring .

Oscar Navarro

do you remember winning Ben Stein's money ? It was a TV show , Oh yeah , yeah , seriously .

Ray Comfort

So you knew all about who Ben Stein .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , yeah , of course . Is that a comedy , or it ?

Oscar Navarro

was . It was like a trivia game . He was the host and you would win Ben Stein's money if you got the question .

Mark Spence

I bet it was more the executive producer's money or the well , yeah , unless he was the executive producer .

Emeal Zwayne

No , but man , he had something about this . The Stein that's .

Oscar Navarro

Clear eyes , yeah ah .

Emeal Zwayne

But it Yeah yeah , I mean he made basically he . He became famous and made a living off of being Monotone voice .

Ray Comfort

Like us , it's a caricature of anything makes you laugh . You know , when you someone's drawn with massive ears that you never noticed They had before and a caricature , it just makes you smile , yeah .

Mark Spence

Oscar , he's a lawyer , did you know that ? Is that what he was ?

Emeal Zwayne

by trade , by trade , yeah yeah , ray , did you send him some stuff or something ? Yeah we saw him at that event .

Ray Comfort

You got his contact info , i think he gave me his home address , which is very nice .

Emeal Zwayne

Did he respond . Okay , so what is it I ?

Ray Comfort

can't remember .

Emeal Zwayne

Speaking of a movie , what is it ? Yeah , yeah , boring people and all that other good and funny , cute stuff perfect .

Ray Comfort

What perfect , perfect . There are dead jokes and there are dad jokes . They were dad jokes , they good .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , i got more , really good ones The sock one was pretty good in my life . Yeah , oscar , you blew it because you said a really good one before we came on .

Ray Comfort

Wait , what was it About us memory improvement ?

Emeal Zwayne

Okay , we have a comment . This is from prodigal , son X . It only gets better .

Mark Spence

Hang other people .

Oscar Navarro

We haven't gotten there yet , but it will get better He meant to put the word can .

Ray Comfort

I cannot get better .

Oscar Navarro

Hey , that needs to be your next mug .

Ben Stein (voice) - EZ

Oh yeah , that's a good idea .

Emeal Zwayne

You know that's how this was birthed .

Ray Comfort

I think , yeah , we have no idea what we're doing , all right , Hey , there could be a new closing , because we need one .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , every single one of you are the best , and I truly enjoy Ray's accent , haha . Thank you , guys for bringing us such edifying content . Listening to you guys makes me feel like I'm right there with you .

Ray Comfort

God bless you guys so a comment on our YouTube channel where it said I think was an atheist . He said Ray's accent is Putrid .

Emeal Zwayne

Putein , yes , that's a good way to put it . Yeah , thank you , prodigal . Son X , you have returned . I Don't know where you went , but he's back . That's very encouraging . Oscar , we were talking about prodigal sons earlier .

Oscar Navarro

Because we talked about my departure .

Emeal Zwayne

Oh , oh , that's right . Yeah , friends , you don't know that . But Oscar , yeah , he was a traitor .

Ray Comfort

That's not . Here's a turncoat .

Oscar Navarro

You don't know , i had took a job and left the ministry , and it was only about 10 months , wasn't quite a year I was no longer at the ministry and then I repented . I saw my wicked ways And I came back and since their fourth there on , they call me the prodigal son .

Ray Comfort

Yeah , or Benedict Arnold , arnold , those people that you work for think they're the pigsty or not ?

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , he has returned friends . All right , this podcast is brought to you know his podcast . By defender of the faith . Ten weird facts about the coronation and this is fitting because we're gonna be talking about that , ray 500 thousand in print half a million .

Ray Comfort

Yes , no , no , no no 500,000 .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah . Yeah , yes , you're right , what's not seriously , what sounds better ? because I always , when I'm about to write something , i'm always wondering should I say 250 million , or should I say quarter of a billion ? which sounds more impressive ? I don't know It's weird , i was always stuck with that .

Ray Comfort

It depends on you , on your perception of a million .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , why are we trying to impress people anyway ? defender of the faith . 500 thousand Ray , but be honest though , that's not really what you would have wanted to print .

Ray Comfort

No , no , i'm gonna be honest , because I'm normally a liar . Very true , i wanted to go for a million .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , hmm , so you compromised .

Ray Comfort

I can't buy a nice guy .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , friends , this is a great book , lots of good insights , and you'll hear more about all that kind of good stuff here and a little bit .

Mark Spence

I thought we did not send those to England . Did we send any of us ?

Ray Comfort

No , we didn't we were going to , but the logistics was insane .

Mark Spence

But people were handing those out .

Emeal Zwayne

Where did they get that ? Wait what ? Yeah , Where are they now ?

Ray Comfort

Yeah , oh , i know where they got them , because the 500,000 went out to people in the US .

Mark Spence

They must have filled suitcases for them and took them with them . I have some good video of them hanging out Really .

Oscar Navarro

Oh , that's great . I saw some . I saw some of those books over there .

Ray Comfort

Yeah , yeah , seriously . We tried to get a warehouse to put them in and we thought we've got this like I don't know how many pallets it was like 40 pallets a box And how did we put them ? How do we store them , you know ?

Oscar Navarro

yeah , it was just a nightmare . So to be clear , because not many people who listening may know we Clarifier we recently had a huge outreach for the coronation , which was in London , and because of that we Coronations that the coordination of King Chalet . So Ray wrote a book called Defender of the Faith . 10 weird facts about the coronation .

Oscar Navarro

Thanks to you , i know Oscar we printed 500,000 of them and they were made freely available , right And with free shipping . With free shipping , all 500,000 are out in the world somewhere and now , yes , all in the United States For for Christians to hand out to their non-believing friends . I think it's a great book .

Ray Comfort

I wouldn't suggest they hand them out . I would suggest they throw them out , like right ?

Emeal Zwayne

No , we like , we just did we did .

Ray Comfort

We went around the local Neighborhood and toss them up . Drivers put a rubber band around them and an easy just had a ball , Oh that was fun , Although I had some pretty bad throws Yeah but you were stopping and people on the side of the running out and give them to them .

Emeal Zwayne

It was just some people can get some wet books on their lawn , but I tried , arabs don't . They don't do baseball throws . Yeah , yeah , so oh , thanks for qualifying Oscar .

Oscar Navarro

Yeah , and then there was a track And then yeah , yeah , well , we're gonna talk about that .

Emeal Zwayne

We're gonna talk about that . Defender of the Faith . 10 weird facts . There are a lot of weird facts , right ? Yes , really weird facts .

Ray Comfort

Can you tell us one or two ? The sub title was given to me by Oscar I didn't have that And it's more appealing . And they were weird things . The orb I mean Wendy , i'd never heard of an orb until I had seen one just floating around the neighborhood . There's an orb crap .

Ray Comfort

There was a gold ball that was encrusted with hundreds of diamonds and pearls and sapphires that Charles holds there . I would love to sell it and give the money to the poor and use the rest of the gospel tracks . I wonder what it's worth that orb . It's a lot .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , you know that's where we've talked about . Oh , we talked about it on the live stream , but the beef eaters Oh , i found out why they were called beef eaters .

Ray Comfort

There's no reason . Are you just talking about people like you know ? No , they were Henry VIII's guards . That's why they look really old fashioned , and they used to eat beef Love it . So he called them beef eaters , really .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , that's where I know I saw a beef eater say that he doesn't know why they're called beef eaters . Yeah , that's just ignorant .

Ray Comfort

We know everything Got a snipe . Yeah , exactly what I was thinking . That's nice , exactly what I was thinking .

Emeal Zwayne

Those listeners that have been with us know exactly what that means . All right , yeah . So yeah , they guard those things in the tower .

Ben Stein (voice) - EZ

I think of London , i got the beef , You go there they got piles of beef Leave my burger alone .

Emeal Zwayne

Thank you , touch it . Beef eaters Yeah , they would have done well in those commercials back in the day . Remember those commercials ? Where's the beef ? Yeah , where's the beef Mark ? do you remember those ? I'll tell you what .

Ray Comfort

They weren't actually called beef eaters . They were beef eaters because they had feet they walked around on . They just wanted to be feeders .

Emeal Zwayne

Oh man , but Mark , remember a little grandma Where's the beef ?

Mark Spence

Yes , Oh yeah , of course .

Emeal Zwayne

And then that was what you would call a viral campaign .

Ray Comfort

It was iconic . Yeah , wendy's . What was the kind of Wendy's ? Yeah ?

Emeal Zwayne

Members , you'd be driving around Where's the beef ? And then they'd show this giant bun and it had like a tiny little piece of meat in the middle . Where's the beef ? They're for glasses . You know , denny's is brilliant . They do the square patty . Why is that ? I think so you eat Wait that's Wendy's , not Denny's .

Ben Stein (voice) - EZ

I say Denny's , yeah , wendy's .

Emeal Zwayne

So you get a bite from any side .

Ray Comfort

You know , i wanted to produce a circle , i wanted to produce a square egg . A , what A square egg , so it doesn't roll around . Because when the eggs laid , the shell is apparently very soft . So if you could somehow strap a square box to a chicken so it laid it would lay it square . That would be great because it would sit it up on the table when you want to get it .

Emeal Zwayne

You really did contemplate , though , how like a way to do that .

Oscar Navarro

Of course , of course Now , the chicken wouldn't stay still .

Ray Comfort

Wait weren't you looking at ?

Emeal Zwayne

when don't we see something about square ?

Ray Comfort

watermelon two years ago . They do have square watermelon . They contain them in a square thing , so watermelon grows in square .

Emeal Zwayne

So it grows in square . Yeah , so it sit up instead of rolling around Yeah .

Emeal Zwayne

All right friends , also , don't forget to check out the Living Waters podcast Mug . Notice , it's only in second place today I've kicked it down a little bit And the evidence study Bible at livingwaterscom . All right guys , no more delays , shenanigans . No more shenanigans and delays The London Outreach . Okay , you guys were there and I'm the one buzzing with excitement right now because , honestly , i haven't even hardly talked to you guys . I know I haven't seen you since getting back . Yeah , we just got back . This obviously is posted a little while after the coronation , but all I've heard from you guys is this was unbelievably amazing . I mean , mark , even this morning we were texting and you're just like yeah , so first of all before you get there .

Coronation Day Gospel Outreach

Emeal Zwayne

Let's start with how this was even conceived . So , Ray , do you even remember how this all came about ?

Ray Comfort

Yeah , absolutely . It started back in 1982 when I saw I think it was 82 , diana and Charles get married worldwide on television . I sat and watched them And I watched the Archbishop of Canterbury say marriage is a type of Christ and the church And I thought , now preach it .

Ben Stein (voice) - EZ

Now you can preach the gospel .

Ray Comfort

You have a license to actually say Christ died for our sins . We're going to have everlasting life as a free gift of God , and that's what God's love was expressed in the cross , et cetera . I was going to say blah , blah . And I was so frustrated that he had a worldwide audience of literally hundreds of millions . He had a license to preach the gospel . He could have done it in two or three minutes , but he didn't . And so when this came up , i thought Charles is going to be crowned . And I studied what happened with Queen Elizabeth in 1953 and saw that she just did so many things which is so biblically based , symbolic of the Bible , laying a hand on the Bible , turning to uphold the biblical truths of salvation by grace , through faith , carrying the scepter , like David carried and like Solomon carried the orb , which is a picture of Christ having ruled over the whole earth . So many other things . The sword is a sort of mercy , speaking of the cross , the sort of justice , the sharp sword speaking of the judgment of God , and I thought wouldn't it be great to do a gospel track with Charles's picture on the front or the gospel on the back and give them away to the millions they're going to pack .

Ray Comfort

London Made a video for you guys , sent it to you and straight after I sent it I received an email from a gentleman who said he just said what are you working on ? And I sent him the video and he sent the ministry $200,000 . Sent someone else the video , they sent $50,000 , somebody else and they sent $100,000 . So I thought I'd better send the video to as many people as I can . And then from there things just exploded , in the sense that we thought we were going to print 3 million tracks , which is a breathtaking amount . that ended up being 16 million . We thought we had something like 2,000 workers that were going to help us give out tracks in England and throughout the US ended up being 21,000 . We sent our team from you guys and the camera crew to London to film it all , to give out tracks , to have a seminar , and it just went wonderful .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , yeah . So that's 21,000 workers all across the globe in different countries that we're getting , because we had Australia , canada , australia I said Australia , New .

Ben Stein (voice) - EZ

Zealand , both Australians , both .

Emeal Zwayne

Northern and southern Australia . All over , right , yes , all over , probably the Commonwealth countries , 21,000 people .

Oscar Navarro

Yeah , so the numbers we brought in about $530,000 in donations , the total amount .

Ray Comfort

We didn't even have to go to our regular donors .

Oscar Navarro

Yeah . It was such a good amount Which helped cover the cost of 16 million tracks being printed , 500,000 books being printed hardcover books being printed , plus being able to host a conference for a couple hundred people in London right before the outreach . And Did you say a couple hundred thousand ? Couple hundred thousand , what ? I thought you said a couple hundred people , oh , a couple hundred people Couple hundred people in London sort of an equipping I think there were about 400 almost there .

Ray Comfort

I was going to correct them , but I didn't like them too publicly .

Oscar Navarro

A couple hundred , a few hundred .

Ray Comfort

Yeah , a few hundred , a few hundred . There were hundreds , there were millions .

Oscar Navarro

And there were less than a billion people at that conference .

Ray Comfort

That's often here we've got . This TV station has a potential audience of six billion people .

Oscar Navarro

There's two listeners , there was potential .

Ray Comfort

There's only three billion , six billion eyes , so we had that wonderful conference , or whatever you call it reception . Yeah , it was just a time of exhortation and encouragement which everybody loved .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , i mean , let me just put this into perspective . Think of a local church with an evangelism team And , seriously , if five people come out , the leaders are like whoa , this is a revival . About 400 people came together , flying in from all over the world , 21,000 around the world , 400 together in London , coming in from all around the world to London .

Oscar Navarro

And honestly , all around the world . I mean , i met people from Australia , Finland , africa . What was the country that that young lady was from ? New Zealand , it was just off of Madagascar somewhere . Some small little island off the coast of Madagascar Loves listening to the podcast . So sorry , i can't remember the name of the country . All over the world , yeah .

Emeal Zwayne

And that's in London , but just to have a team that size . And then you've got 21,000 all over the world . Given amount I mean this is set . This is like we're on fire already , but we're like a blazing inferno right now .

Ray Comfort

We don't know how many came from Great Britain to London . We lost count . It was originally 1800 and the figures got messed up on our website So I couldn't find it . So there were literally thousands came from around the country , from churches , to give out those tracks .

Oscar Navarro

Because we send out the tracks and the thousands And I'm telling you , on Coronation Day , every single street I turned and walked down , there were people handing out gospel tracks .

Mark Spence

I love it , You know I cannot tell you how many people I bumped into that were all by themselves , yeah , and they loved the podcast and they had no idea about the reception .

Ray Comfort

Yeah .

Mark Spence

Which surprises me . I think they would have come to that .

Emeal Zwayne

I think , wait , you mean there were more there that didn't come .

Oscar Navarro

There were so many people , i would say , about half the people I ran into on the streets were not at the reception . What ?

Ray Comfort

Yeah , easy . Miguel said we had not too many people give our SVPs to the reception , so they kept the number at about 400 . And so a lot of people couldn't get in A lot of people couldn't come because it was filled up . I didn't realize that . A lot more people than that .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , so okay , then let's . Let's jump

London Evangelism Experience

Emeal Zwayne

into it . So , mark , you guys get to London . I mean , throw in whatever you want as well . But my main question is what was the atmosphere like ? I mean was was the place buzzing people ?

Mark Spence

Okay , well , i need to back up a little bit because I feel like I need to and I don't want to get emotional , but I have to apologize to Ray , because I remember being in Daniel's office telling Ray that this is not gonna work and this is the most amazing thing that I've ever been a part of , and I'm sorry , ray , for doing that .

Ray Comfort

And Mark , when you sent that text to me , i actually wept because I remembered that You're saying this is the greatest experience in my life . I'll never forget it , to the moment I got to be with the Lord . I wept because it was so sweet to me after you saying this just isn't gonna work , hmm .

Mark Spence

Yeah , well , boy , which we didn't have cameras going . It was a surreal moment because I met people from all sorts of backgrounds and Christian denominations that came together to link arms to share the gospel with people , and People that have never done this before , well , that have never stepped out of the boat , and It was crazy , it was absolutely crazy . People , the , the energy and the excitement that people had to share their , to share their faith . For the first time I felt like I was a part of history . I felt like God allowed me to go into the front lines and and experience and see something That was part of the early church , as they went into Their Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria and the uttermost parts of the earth and it people I talked to that They did not care that nobody came with them , that nobody went with them . People that spent all the money they had to get a plane ticket and Sleep in wherever they could sleep , and that we had a host up there for the Romanian church that so kindly opened up their church .

Mark Spence

That's Pastor George . Is that Pastor George ? and Julia who organized the event ? I mean , i don't even know what to say that these people ? I was so encouraged , yeah , as I was out handing out the different tracks and seeing the books and people engaged in conversations And I saw somebody open air preach for the first time and they've never opened air preached before . Yeah , it wasn't the best a message , you know , it was really kind of sloppy , but it so it provoked me , you know , within me , and I and I went up to a guy and I said , hey guys , listen to this episode . Right now . I'm like hey .

Mark Spence

Can and can . May I may I borrow your microphone ? He looked at me and he said he was wow that this is such an honor . You know I love your podcast and and everything else . So I then began to preach for an hour and a half and then finally a camera crew came by , like within the last 20 minutes , you know or so , and they got it on camera the last 20 minutes or so , but yeah , i rounded .

Oscar Navarro

I rounded the corner again , walking around just people everywhere running in the to people handing out gospel tracks . I'll get into some of the people that I got to meet , but I round just to pause . But then I want you to pick up . I round this corner and I hear somebody on a microphone and I'm like , well , i know that voice and I go over there and there's Mark , he's got this Persian guy , egyptian guy , Ferris he was Egyptian . And then this tall English blok English guy He was his name .

Mark Spence

Is Danny with easier hecklers , or ?

Oscar Navarro

they're my hecklers .

Mark Spence

I invited them up and we shared a microphone , but I held on to the microphone . Oh , and by the time I was done , they both were very antagonistic .

Ray Comfort

They were really have it on , especially , especially when you say we have it on camera , that's for a television program .

Emeal Zwayne

Yes , so mark real , real quick . Was this a local Group that was open air preaching , or were they a part of ?

Mark Spence

our out there . It was a single guy that came by himself with a microphone and a speaker .

Emeal Zwayne

Speaker , and he came from the US , or no ? No , he was an Englishman .

Oscar Navarro

I didn't hear him preach , i took over his microphone ?

Ray Comfort

I'm not sure , but somebody else had borrowed his microphone that preached for the first time Got it And then I grabbed ahold of it .

Mark Spence

But Danny who came on up , he was so antagonistic , he was so angry , he was an atheist And I allowed him to speak into my microphone as I held it And then he was just going off and off and off . I've never seen a man roll his eyes so fiercely .

Oscar Navarro

Wow , danny would roll his eyes By the time we were done , he said . I just want to say thank you .

Mark Spence

I just want to say thank you Wow . Because , I've never come across a Christian like you before . Usually we come across people that are Christians , that are yelling at us but they're not ready and willing to engage in dialogue . I've never encountered something like this before And I want to say what you're doing out here is a really good thing .

Emeal Zwayne

Did they get that on camera ? They're all on camera .

Open-Air Preaching and Gospel-Centered Conversations

Oscar Navarro

Well , and a moment that you didn't see . If you remember , he kind of asked a question to you of like what kind of a God would blah , blah , blah , blah , blah ? And your response to him was by what standard are you judging God on ? And he took a moment and he sit . His response back was like you know what ? I need a minute .

Oscar Navarro

I need a minute to think about this , and so he pulls back and then the other guy steps forward and starts asking you questions And I watched him . He was like on his phone . I don't know what he was doing , but it looked like he was looking something up .

Ray Comfort

Yeah , Richard , help me . No , what would Dawkins say ?

Oscar Navarro

We're looking some stuff up . and then at one point he seemed to and again I don't know what he was doing on his phone , but it looked like he was curious about something . And at some point he puts his phone away and he just kind of crosses arms and he sat there with his chin in his hand and just thinking and contemplating And then was like , looked at you and was like , okay , i'm going to go . And then he said whatever you said to you and he left .

Mark Spence

I'm going to gracefully back out of this conversation .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , how cool would it be if one day , this guy gets saved and his testimony is a guy hit me with this question lovingly , gently , intelligently , and I just realized what am I doing ? Yeah , what standard am I using ? Yeah , i'm an atheist , i don't believe in any absolute standard , and yet I'm applying one to God . Where do I get ?

Oscar Navarro

on . I remember his thing . It was because you brought up Adam in the fall and he said what kind of a God would tempt a son and then accuse him afterwards of falling ? That was it . And then your response was by what standard are you basing that ? by what standard are you judging God on ?

Mark Spence

Yeah , and he kept saying you know , there are so many kids that are suffering , so many kids that are suffering , they're suffering , they're suffering . Where's God ? God was at the same place when his son was suffered , when his son died at the hands of cruel people . But since you have such a heart for the children , how do you feel about abortion ? Wow . And he said well , i think it's up to the woman to choose . And I said so . Let me get this straight . Everybody can choose , but God by what standard ? So it was very , and it's very important for those of you that are listening if you are inclined to open your preach or to engage in some sort of an apologetical sword fight , to always get back to the gospel .

Ben Stein (voice) - EZ

Yeah , they know it .

Mark Spence

Because , before you know it , you're 30 minutes in you have a whole new crowd and nobody's heard the gospel . All they see is you arguing , And if you're not arguing towards the cross , well then you're just arguing . So I made it my aim to always pull away from our discussion , preach the law in the gospel and get back to the questions .

Ray Comfort

That was learned from Santa Monica . We used to tap each other's ankle .

Ben Stein (voice) - EZ

Yeah .

Ray Comfort

It's a propensity to get caught into apologetical arguments , and if we saw a brother on the box doing that , we'd go past and just tap his ankle and say oh remember , we're here to preach the cross .

Emeal Zwayne

Well , it's so key And one of the benefits of open air is the fact that multiple people are listening in And you've got people that are coming in and out , so you might have someone new who just walked in . So you always want to try to get back to the gospel . So , okay , mark , so you had that experience . I mean , i've known you for a very long time and we've served the Lord together for about 25 years , like in ministry , and I don't think I've ever seen you like this moved by something . God did something in you man .

Mark Spence

Yeah , no , it was really special . I wish that you guys could have been there to see it somehow be lifted up , experienced and come on back . The travel itself can be very difficult . It can be very hard , but the ministry was absolutely amazing . Everywhere I turned around there were people . It seemed like there was a road to Emmaus experience with everybody .

Mark Spence

Everybody had a story And when given the opportunity , they wanted to share it , but they weren't interested in the fellowship as much as they were interested in sharing the gospel with other people . People that were excited to meet us and to talk to us , but when given the opportunity to turn around and to hand out tracts , they wanted to be all a part of that .

Emeal Zwayne

And what a fitting occasion . I mean right , ray ? I mean you've talked about it and you've said basically the whole world was going to church and everyone's gathering to really wait outside of an event where something's happening , where the gospel is being talked about . I mean they quoted out of Colossians about who Christ is and his preeminence , and it was just , it was amazing .

Mark Spence

I'm on my way back , coming back , i sat next to a lady who was invited to the coronation and she sat in Westminster Abbey . She was in her early 80s , she's from England and she was coming out to the United States for something . But she gave me her phone number to come visit her because I'm going back to England in two weeks for a couple of weeks . But she gave me , allowed me to hold on to and I took a picture of every page . It was the program for the coronation and I sent it to you , ray . That's what those 50 pages are . Listen to some of these words , if I may . These words are the words . Everything is scripted that day for the coronation .

Mark Spence

The Archbishop of Thyatira in Great Britain says The Lord , protect you in all your ways and prosper all your work in his name . The moderator of the free churches group says The Lord , give you hope and happiness that you may inspire all your people in the imitation of his unchanging love . The General Secretary of England says The Lord , grant that wisdom and knowledge be the stability of your times and the fear of the Lord your treasure . The Cardinal of Archbishop of Westminster says May God pour upon you the richness of his grace , bless you and keep you in his holy fear and prepare you for a happy eternity and receive you at the last , until a mortal glory , wow .

Mark Spence

The Archbishop of Canterbury says And the blessing of God Almighty . The Father , the Son and the Holy Spirit be with you and remain with you always , amen . And then it just goes on and on . And this one part The Lord , grant the King a long life that his years may endure throughout all generations . Let him dwell before thee forever . Oh prepare thy loving mercy and faithfulness that they may preserve him . So shall we always sing and praise thy name , amen .

Mark Spence

Point the coronation , the entire coronation is pointed back upon the word of God , the person of Jesus Christ . And I'm thinking to myself , as I was reading through this , like nowhere else in the world , are you going to see this and to hear these words ? Right ? And I , when I got grabbed ahold of the program and I was looking through all of the words written out , i was thinking what a treasure this item is . And this woman says I can't stop reading through all the words that were spoken . Wow , how did she get in there , mark ? I mean , she was invited . She was invited in to , is she just ?

Emeal Zwayne

a commoner . I don't know , she was the Queen of Pompeo .

Ben Stein (voice) - EZ

Yeah , Well , and .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah . Oscar you've been waiting . I want to hear what you got too .

Oscar Navarro

Yeah , i mean I really don't have much to add to what Mark is saying , but my observations and some standout moments is kind of what he said . It was less about us being there and more about seeing how many people answered the call . Because of Ray , your vision not just your vision for London , but your vision for this ministry , your vision for the church to become more evangelistic that started 30 , 40 , 50 , 180 years ago And all that you do and all that God is doing through the podcast , the TV show and the YouTube . I mean I met a sweet family with teenage girls there from Ireland . I met teenagers that backed packed from Finland .

Oscar Navarro

By the way , that's the creatures , Yeah they knew you Shout out to the creatures .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , they're our friends . That's their last name Creature . Creature , not creatures .

Ray Comfort

Creatures , I was going to say the only one who preached the God of the creatures . I met a couple . They're the ones that picked us up .

Emeal Zwayne

Remember it took us around Ireland .

Ray Comfort

That's right . And he sent me a video of you and I . They've watched a dozen times . They can't stop looking at it . Oh yeah , I'll produce . I'm going to show you later . That's right , It's so funny .

Oscar Navarro

He was from the US and I can't remember what country she's from , but they're engaged and they rarely get to see each other and they decided that this would be their trip , where they get to spend some time together , which is to go and to preach the gospel and to hand out tracks like that was how they're going to spend this trip together . You know Over and over again . Just met some incredible a guy from Greece who came by himself because he gave us a hard time . He said every time we quote the Greek word on our podcast , he says we butcher it . I apologize , perfectly .

Ray Comfort

We should call him every time we want to call him . He said it's .

Mark Spence

Augustine .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , he's wrong .

Oscar Navarro

It was amazing and , like I said , turning the corner . Everywhere I went on the streets it was just one person after another with the million dollar bill pound tracks , handing them out to people , men and women near retirement age , in their middle age , young kids , high school , college , just every age group you know answered the call to preach the gospel . And think about not only the tracks that were handing out , but think about how much prayer was poured over . This trip was poured over . Those tracks was poured over the people that were that the tracks were being handed to . And to add to sort of what you were saying , mark , in regards to reading what the Church of England had prepared , i got to speak to you know , we're out there looking for interviews for the TV show and there's like this vicar , he's got his white thingamajig on and he's staring at the Abbey . And I walk up to him and I'm like hey , would you want to do an interview ? And he said yes .

Emeal Zwayne

Wow .

Oscar Navarro

And so I got to do an interview with the vicar from the Church of England . It was really interesting .

Ray Comfort

It was a great accent .

Oscar Navarro

He did have a great accent . yeah , He knew very little about the gospel , though , which is crazy .

Emeal Zwayne

This guy you know went to seminary .

Oscar Navarro

He is a professional preacher , quote unquote in the Church of England . And I ask him what is the gospel ? And he goes oh well , you know , the gospel is God's love for us , it's God's way of healing us , of empowering us , of offering us grace and power in this life and reconciliation with each other . And he waxes on and on And at the end , when he's done , i go . And what about our reconciliation to him ? And he's like oh well , yeah , you know , in a way That small thing Yeah .

Oscar Navarro

And then I ask him you know about the substitutionary atonement ? And right at the end he says something like well , you know that makes me feel uncomfortable . You know , god's wrath being poured out on his son makes me feel like he's a vindictive God And I got to go . He left . And he left the interview , which is really unfortunate , but it's also a great example on how the Church of England has lost a sense of the gospel .

Ray Comfort

And how the God of this world is blinded to the minds of those that believe , not to the light of the glorious gospel of Christ , who is the image of God .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , and you know my prayer is for God to do a revival . You know you think about the fact that Wesley and Whitfield came out of the Church of England . You know , And man .

Emeal Zwayne

May the Lord cause a revival . We had a good friend say as we were texting , ray and I were texting and they were like man , how wonderful would it be if the book and the tract got into the hands of King Charles and his family and they all came to Christ . Oh , it could be this morning and say he's reading the tract and I was like where's Ben when you need him , when we need him .

Ray Comfort

Can I just say something about the tract ? I think it's got an incredibly long life , and the reason for that is for the world , this was a tremendously heartwarming experience . This whole thing outside of what the Christian experienced was like a light and darkness , in the sense that the world is just so full of bad , bad news And this was good news . And it's like and I aged myself by saying this but if someone gave me a million dollar bill with the Beatles on it , it would take me back to the joy I had of the experience of hearing them for the first time . And so this tract has got a long , long life , and so Christians should still keep giving them out . Oh , i watched the coronation . Yeah , thanks for that .

Impacting Lives Through Evangelism

Emeal Zwayne

And again , the reason why I think it was such a brilliant idea is because who in the world is going to throw one of those away ? I mean , this is , you know , people love mementos from certain places or , you know , from certain occasions , and it's not just that it's got King Charles picture on it and it's it looks like currency . It's really well done . Yeah , i mean , brad and Ashley did an extraordinary job . It's really quality , even the paper .

Ray Comfort

People believe what a bread nicely is .

Emeal Zwayne

But I'm not sleep , but I'm not sleep . Yeah a brat is our wonderful Oh Brett's are wonderful webmaster here and does so many other things . And then Esli is a brilliant graphic artist .

Ray Comfort

I mean she's been doing stuff for Disney for a long time , yeah .

Emeal Zwayne

I know that she's really good And she does the best caricatures I think I've ever seen , so , anyhow . So here's what I want to do . I want to . I want to get to the reception mark . I want you to talk a little bit about that and what happened there , and then I want to wrap up with talking about what we're going to do next , because , if you don't think , this affected us friends wow , now listen , why are we talking about all this ? All of you are thinking , ok , this already happened . Who knows when you're and look at the date on this , because this may be years later . You're listening to this . We're doing this to stir your souls .

Emeal Zwayne

If you weren't moved by Mark's reaction , you may not be a human being , because that was that was powerful , and we want you to catch a glimpse of what God can do when you decide to be an instrument in His hand . And guys , honestly think about it . What's being asked of us ? Be an instrument ? What's an instrument ? It just sits there , you know , like ready to be picked up and used , and that's what we're talking about being used by the Lord . This doesn't have to happen during one big single occasion in another country . They are lost all around you all the time . There are enough special occasions in the US taking place where you can go , and so do it . All right , mark reception .

Mark Spence

People literally had to take planes , trains and automobiles in order to get to this place that was in the middle of nowhere . It really was , yeah , our outside of London .

Emeal Zwayne

Really it was remote . Yeah , there's nothing near it .

Mark Spence

Why did I think the ?

Emeal Zwayne

reception was like five minutes from like ground zero .

Oscar Navarro

Well , when you look on a map , it's only a millimeter away from the end .

Emeal Zwayne

That's what it was .

Mark Spence

But seeing the people come , continually come and then fill up this room was so amazing .

Ben Stein (voice) - EZ

It was standing room only .

Emeal Zwayne

Speaking of Phillip . Phillip was there , wasn't he ? Ray Ray's brother .

Ray Comfort

Oh , my brother , Yeah , phillip , and his wife Shirley . He's had me mystified for a long time . He was the first ever to give away coronation tracks . Wow , he asked for the money when he was in Sydney . That's amazing And I didn't even know if he's a Christian , which is just weird .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , amazing , awesome .

Mark Spence

We showed our film What Is It ? and Phillip came up to me The last half of the film at least . I stood there with Phillip and we watched it , and it was after he had said , oh , this is so well done , he's just excellent , just excellent , just really excellent , and he's so proud of you , ray right , yes , i mean , he wears a name tag that says Phillip Comfort on it . He's self-made and he wore walking around and he wanted to address everybody and say a word , but we didn't dare give him a mic .

Emeal Zwayne

So yeah , so it's in a remote place and people are just yeah .

Mark Spence

Yeah , and then we all got up there , went after the next one , we began to talk and teach a little bit , we showed the film and Mark taught , I taught and then . Miguel , head MC John Harris . John Harris , yeah , he gave pointers on how to handle gospel tracks , how to engage in conversation , and we could have probably went on for another few hours .

Emeal Zwayne

How long did it go ?

Mark Spence

It was at least three and a half hours . What , yeah , it was long . I didn't realize that It could have been a lot longer . Wow , yeah , people were . Was it too long ? It was not too long . No , people wanted more People wanted to become a little bit .

Oscar Navarro

That was a highlight .

Emeal Zwayne

And so were you guys meeting a lot of people that love living waters . In the fall of the ministry , Yes , but not only that .

Mark Spence

There were a lot of people that were really wanting to become equipped . Yeah Right . I had instead in my head thinking that all of these people are already equipped , they're already inspired , that's why they're there and they just want a fellowship . No , when slides were going , john Harris was showing the different slides on how to handle tracks . It was like every hand went up to take a picture of the different slides . Wow , and then coming by and just going how do I get this material ? How do I get this material ? How do I become equipped ?

Oscar Navarro

Yeah , so I think that's a good thing . On three things we can learn from the early church on evangelism , but I mentioned the beginning . I actually have five , but I only have time for three . I can't tell you how many people afterwards were coming up to me . What were the other two ?

Ray Comfort

What were they with pin ?

Oscar Navarro

and paper .

Emeal Zwayne

You were at the top of the top of the top of the top . Yeah , what were the other two ? Very smart .

Oscar Navarro

But to your point , yeah , they were so excited about being around living waters members and us And that was really encouraging . But more than that , they were there to be equipped . They were so excited for information download , which was awesome . I love that They're hungry .

Mark Spence

There was such a sacrifice for them to be there And therefore I think that that allotted each person to be like a sponge , that they were just holding on to everything that was being said Give me something . And then , like I said , out on the streets , a lot of individual people , not with other people , not with a spouse , not with a friend , not with their child , they're just by themselves trying to handle tracks , handing them out .

Mark Spence

And it wasn't like they were being timid about it either . It was like no , here , take this , you've got to read this , you've got to read this .

Oscar Navarro

Take this So many college students that just went by themselves . Wow , They're like I just came by myself . I'm just here to hand out tracks .

Emeal Zwayne

Well , you know , when we got sent the video , i don't know who sent it , if it was Brad or one of our team members . If someone sent a video of our team being mobbed by people like wanting tracks and even one lady's like give me two , give me two . People just waiting . And I just started , i teared up because I thought , lord , all these people have the gospel in their hands . They're not going to throw this away . It's going to be sitting in their house for years . Other people are going to read it .

Oscar Navarro

They're children and the grandchildren .

Emeal Zwayne

And so it was so , so moving , and so you guys met a few podcast listeners .

Mark Spence

Oh , so many people love the podcast . Really , i can't believe it .

Ben Stein (voice) - EZ

Even the dad jokes .

Mark Spence

However , there was one guy that came up to me and he said I love everything about the podcast except for when Easy tells us jokes .

Ben Stein (voice) - EZ

No , he's an anomaly , because everybody else wasn't here , everybody else loves the dad jokes and loves the camaraderie and jokes .

Mark Spence

I am honestly shocked .

Oscar Navarro

I'm honestly shocked on how , and so blessed because to me we get on here , we goof off , we have so much fun talking about the Lord . I feel lifted up and encouraged . And then I am so blown away when I get around other people and they are so lifted up and encouraged by the podcast And to see just them understand our inside jokes , tell us whether they're team Easy or team .

Ray Comfort

Oscar when it comes to coffee .

Oscar Navarro

You know . For them to repeat back to us stories that we've told are like Hey , you know , you said this thing , i can relate , or I was in that moment before . There's just like relational currency that's being built and listener for you , for you , listening man , we , we so appreciate you .

Ray Comfort

We love you and we're so thankful for .

Oscar Navarro

when we get to meet you face to face , it honestly means a ton .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , it's crazy . I was at a church in another state and this lady walks up to me . Never seen her in my life . She goes Hey , tea kettle's Wayne . Oh boy , this thing's getting around . But yeah , mark , to serve that brother who doesn't like the jokes , i'm going to keep telling them because he needs sanctification , trial and tribulation .

Emeal Zwayne

So Ray and I were here in the meantime doing the live stream . I got about an hour and a half of sleep that afternoon just to take a little nap , which was a big mistake because I was . I was exhausted , but we had so much fun . We had a great time .

Ray Comfort

Little panic . just as we're beginning , We cut across to Ben and then we hear our tech guys say we've lost the tower .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , like they lost the signal there .

Ray Comfort

Yeah , there's no signal from London .

Emeal Zwayne

Like they shut down all the towers and the signals And I thought , great , we've got four hours of me and easy .

Ray Comfort

Yeah , but away without a Ben price or without . The guys come from London . But they got it back . I was just thrilled . And then , just as we're going to start , there was issues of copyright YouTube going to shut us down because there's music being played that they can hear and stuff like that . But it really worked out good .

Emeal Zwayne

Yeah , I mean , Ben was just a breath of fresh air He is . He's just on , you know , like all of the impersonations He was doing , Trump and King Charles and Arnold , and yeah it was . it was really great .

Oscar Navarro

I gotta say , out of all the guys I invited to work out with me while we were in London , ben was the only one that showed up . Really , mark Brad Gale .

Emeal Zwayne

All right , brown's time is a ticking and we've got to tell you about what we're going to do . Yes , 2024 will bring us the Olympics , and where a ?

Ray Comfort

In Paris I think Paris , i love London that Paris is the most wonderful city in the world . It's just wow . What about Belfast ? It's all right .

Oscar Navarro

It's just something about .

Ray Comfort

Paris We've been there a number of times the , the multiculturalism , the , the The Lou , the Eiffel Tower , lou , the , all those things .

Emeal Zwayne

Alan , we can't forget Alan , yeah it's just so , it's .

Ray Comfort

It's so exciting that that so many people are gonna come three billion people watch the Olympics . Wow and so I am , i am . It's like London on steroids , because the Coronation of the King Charles was huge , but the whole world didn't follow it There are a lot of countries that just weren't interested , but with the Olympics the whole , yeah . Well it's when they say three billion people , they're not talking , kids don't watch it So that it's like almost the whole world of it .

Oscar Navarro

I grew up watching the Olympics . I grew up watching the .

Emeal Zwayne

Olympics ? Yeah , that was like a thing in our home and you didn't even have a TV . Yeah , we watched .

Ray Comfort

Yeah , we would just draw pictures on those little magnetic things for that , Yeah and so we're going to create tracks that are going to be so exciting for people . They're gonna hold on to them , and I've got lots of little thoughts , like Just a little all your thoughts are a little , yeah , a little . Just that we're gonna print a card for Paris that this we haven't even talked about this . It just says free Olympic Collectibles or whatever free Olympics .

Ray Comfort

I can't get the right word , but people are gonna be lining up for them because they're there for the Olympics and these , these are gonna be their heroes .

Emeal Zwayne

So yeah , it's super . Yeah , that's what we're doing . So I mean , Mark , you took French for 40 years and don't even hardly know a word . I was the same too I . I took .

Ray Comfort

French for three years . No and I and I see I did and I said something to a Frenchman and he learned turn around . This is like 30 years after , after the fact . But I , after three years of studying French , that teacher said , oh , this isn't the French , they speak in England . This is just learning .

Oscar Navarro

Spanish in high school French with your New .

Emeal Zwayne

Zealand .

Ray Comfort

It's gonna be super exciting , Yeah , yeah we're very excited .

Emeal Zwayne

So , again , make sure to check the date on when you're listening to this . This may be three , four years down the line , but this is gonna be in 2016 for the Olympics . We're so excited 2016 .

Ben Stein (voice) - EZ

Did I say ?

Oscar Navarro

In the world so we got a time machine , yeah , just like your outfit .

Ray Comfort

Man , i missed it . I missed the outreach to Paris , but it's 2016 .

Emeal Zwayne

The thing is is , i said 2016 , my brain I said no , no , no , 2024 . And I said say 2024 and look at what .

Ray Comfort

I sounds like you've got someone living in there , i think so All right , friends .
