If we're not discipling our kids , the world is right . The mold of the world , it's been said , is hot and ready to grab a hold of your child and to mold that child into the ways of the world . So we need to always be alert , always be on our guard and if we can disciple our kids while they're young , well then they'll be ready and discipled when it comes up . So we , as adults , we're trying to have a voice in the midst of books like this , but when the child comes in , that voice is so much more powerful in and of itself For that child to come before a student board or the city council and to say something like that , it goes viral . Something like that goes viral .
Speaker 1So , we need to teach our kids to be soldiers , to be warriors , at a very young age , because they're going to be soldiers , whether they like it or not , when they get older .
Speaker 2Yeah , in a chicken coop far far away , a wiry kiwi with ADD is trying to kill rats .
Speaker 3This friends is .
Speaker 2Rat Wars .
Speaker 4Starring Ray Comfort . We have had a plague in our rat coop , in our chicken coop , in our chicken coop and Sue and I have been fighting for weeks . It's just amazing .
Speaker 2Ray , I cannot adequately express in words how excited I am each night to get a new episode of Rat Wars , ray has been sending me videos . Ray , what in the world the dilemma is ? He's trying to stop these rats and he keeps putting mesh up , and they keep getting in every night . Yeah , so what we do is we wait till they get in the world . The dilemma is he's trying to stop these rats and he keeps putting mesh up , and they keep getting in every night .
Speaker 4Yeah , so what we do is we wait until they get in the chicken coop and then I run out there with a flashlight and we record where they left . It's not where they entered , where they left and where they left is the hole that we fill because you can't see them enter . They're so sort of subtle . They come in slowly , quickly , so it reveals the , the exit . So we're getting there . It's been how long , you see , it's been weeks .
Speaker 4We've got a video coming out yeah of course of course do you have a camera actually pointed on it or you just got a camera in the coop yeah , no , camera in the coop .
Speaker 3Nice coop cameras yeah , I just want to apologize to john williams for the butchering of his song that was the most beautiful rendition so bad .
Speaker 2I thought you were making fun of bananas actually Banana banana . Yeah man , it's been crazy , Ray , and I'm kind of like your general right .
Speaker 4Definitely . I'm still out of the front troops and we're fighting the enemy . Yeah , they're dirty little rats .
Speaker 3I know .
Speaker 4Disease-ridden , nasty , sneaky they're , yeah , they're dirty little rats I know disease ridden nasty , sneaky they're like demons creatures of the night . Wow , I didn't realize . They love the darkness , hate the light , and uh .
Speaker 2So we're , we're dealing my last text to ray on this was this morning . I said yes , so you showed me the mesh you got . I said that's what I want to see . Fight , soldier , fight valiantly , fight courageously , fight with abandon , fight until those dirty rats have crawled back into the filthy , stinking holes from whence they came . Seriously , it's like a war , it is that never ends . But what I love , ray , is the fact that you haven't hurt yourself .
Speaker 4Give it time . No , no , easy's . Got all the photos of me covered in blood Because wine eating is disgusting . Well , one of the times I texted him .
Speaker 2I didn't ask why did you ? I said how many times did you hurt yourself ? I think it was five .
Speaker 4It was five . I had five photos , did you ?
Speaker 3try duct taping the wire netting to the dirt , Because I could see I'm just saying I could see you doing that .
Speaker 4It's not a duck coop , it's a chicken coop .
Speaker 2Well , friends , I know you heard a very different voice on here .
Speaker 2We're going to tell you about who that is with us here today a special guest . But first it's time for a cool , classy comment . This is from Silver Nor Gold and it was a comment on our YouTube channel . I have a beautiful praise report for everyone . Last month , at one of my customers , I gave a Spanish Living Waters track to a lady that is from El Salvador . She read it and was convicted in her heart and surrendered her life to the Lord . She told me she started going to Bible preaching church and is on fire for the Lord . She even started singing a praise song for me right there in the kitchen , praising the Lord . I was in tears of joy and she had a beautiful voice as well . Like EZ's , all her family members are Christians and they grew up in a Christian household , but she had never accepted Jesus as her savior . But all because of a well-written gospel tract , she said , her life has been changed for eternity .
Speaker 3Praise the Lord , amen and amen . Did she actually say like EZ ?
Speaker 2or did you ? No , I added that beautiful part she should have .
Speaker 4That would have ruined the whole email .
Speaker 2So , anyhow , thank you . Neither silver nor gold that blesses us and friends keep giving out tracts all the time and now , radically revolutionary resource , this podcast is brought to you by , once again , friends , ray's treasure chests . Ray , we should put a picture of your chest yes , it's a treasure , treasure treasure chest don't forget it , friends , we've got all sorts three different ones , four , four .
Speaker 2Don't forget it , friends , we've got all sorts three different ones . Four . The golden coins , and the reason they're cool is because it looks like a treasure chest but you fill it up with your coins . Keep it by your front door . You get people come to the door , you give it to them and then you can resupply yourself with them as well . Don't forget the Living Waters mug , from which you can chug that Disciple to bring about revival . Living Waters TV . Yes , friends , subscribe and watch us , don't just , you know , hear our voices . Don't forget , it's all at livingwaterscom . Yeah , and remember the podcast YouTube channel where you can see great little snippets and nuggets . Why are you laughing , ray ?
Speaker 4Because you're an idiot .
Speaker 2I resemble that statement . All right , friends .
Speaker 4Actually , idiot was too strong a word , I know it was too mellow , actually Strong guy , yeah .
Speaker 2Strong guy , yes . Friends , that voice you heard is familiar to many of you , though not to all . You may remember him from the legendary days of On the Box .
Speaker 5Oh yeah .
Speaker 2Oh my goodness , Remember those days Whenever I think of On the Box Chad , just cheesy green screen .
Speaker 3Yes , same room .
Speaker 2Right .
Speaker 5You can kind of like see a background going in and out , yeah , and back then , that was so many years ago , it was like 12 , 13 .
Speaker 4That's what you said . We'll cut across to Chad , and Chad was next door like three feet from us .
Speaker 2Yeah , it looked like he was somewhere in a bunker or something .
Speaker 5Our 100th episode , we did a cake with 100 candles .
Speaker 2Oh , that's right . You remember when ?
Speaker 5we set the building on fire .
Speaker 2That's right . Yeah , well , friends , that voice is the voice of our really , really dear friend , chad Williams . Those of you that know about Chad , you know that he was a Navy SEAL with elite military training corporate keynote speaker , author of Seal of God and now newly a Huntington Beach City Councilman . That's right ?
Speaker 5Wow , never anticipated that one either . Yeah , especially all those days going down to the pier and being there at the plaza . Never imagined .
Speaker 4So could you swing it so we get amplification back on the pier . I know somebody .
Speaker 5I think we can do that , that's an easy change in the municipal code .
Speaker 2Really , oh yeah , oh please , it's a weapon that goes both ways .
Speaker 5Yeah , yeah , we could do that . That'd be awesome . I could see that happening .
Speaker 2Yeah , but , chad , we were talking before we started and you were just talking about all the craziness you were into in Huntington Beach back in the day . And to think that you're a city councilman now , man , that's yeah , the .
Speaker 5BC days . A lot of it's recorded in the books too , and I really anticipated the opposition , as it were , weaponizing that book against me , but I guess they missed it Maybe they'll use it next time around .
Speaker 2Wow . Yeah , we were excited when we heard you were running and just to see what the Lord did . I mean , you guys have a pretty conservative city council . Yeah , it's a 7-0 conservative council , wow , so you've been able to get a lot done .
Speaker 5I would say so . We were just ranked in a national poll as the best-run city in the entire state of . California .
Speaker 4No way Huntington Beach , seriously Huntington Beach .
Speaker 5Actually in .
Speaker 4California . There's nothing to boast about .
Speaker 5We're up there somewhere in the top 500 or so for the nation . Wow the bar's set pretty low in California . Take it .
Speaker 2Favor from the Lord , though , man . It's just great to see that and to see the testimony of a life turned around for his glory , and I'm blown away . I mean , you know , I think Ray had encouraged you to write the book , didn't he ? He sure did , and he gave me the title . Yeah , and to think ? Now , chad , you're telling me 200,000 copies of it .
Speaker 3Wow , that's awesome , man , that's crazy man , yeah , yeah , I never imagined .
Speaker 5I remember Ray coming into the office and I was in a chair and he was really putting it on me to write a book , write a book . And I'm like I don't want to write a book . I really don't , Ray . And so when we were out in Israel , at the shoreline of Caesarea , where Paul was , it was one of the first stops , I think , that we made you said hey , I want to pray about you writing a book and I'll leave you alone after this one , you know , because he'd be coming to me a lot . I'm like , let's do it , let's pray , let's get this done . Wow , Because I just wasn't feeling the fire to do it . But it was shortly after that prayer , by the time we're coming home back to the States that you know , the spark was lit to get it going .
Speaker 2Praise God , yeah , ray , I think of the number of people you encourage to write books , right . I mean , you know , from Kirk Cameron to Barbara Cameron , to Chad to me I mean that's just tip of the iceberg , but so many people and it's so refreshing once you've done it . It's hard in the process , but once you're there and you think , man , people are being impacted . I may be sleeping , but there may be someone around the world that's reading my book , that's touching their life .
Speaker 4It's like having a baby . It's got morning sickness , You've got your labor pains . When you get a little babe in your hand , it's wonderful yeah it's a joy .
Speaker 5And I remember Ray was telling me because I was like it just seems like such a daunting task , like reading a book's one thing , but writing a book like that's just so much . And I remember I was driving you home one day and you're like I don't want to overwhelm you , but a book's about 70,000 words , and I'm like exactly .
Speaker 1That's why .
Speaker 3I don't want to write a book .
Speaker 5And he goes no , but if you break it down just a couple hundred words , a few hundred words a day , you're done by halfway through the year . And he always got me to do things by saying come on , navy SEAL Nice . And so he was like I'm writing I think it was like six or seven books at that time like simultaneously with two different publishers and writing a script for Way of the Master , season seven . Yeah , he's like you got one book in you .
Speaker 2I'm like , okay , that's how he got me to open air preach too , by the way , that's right , yeah , and what a joy to see what the Lord did through your life , even in that chat . I mean , we're talking about you jumping off the Huntington Beach Pier , running from the cops to going back to that pier and , open air , preaching and doing evangelism .
Speaker 4That's a high jump , by the way , I've looked down there .
Speaker 2Yeah .
Speaker 5I mean About 20 feet . Have you ever seen what these cliff jumpers do nowadays ? Yeah , it's crazy , it's child's play to them , but you do that feet first .
Speaker 2By the way , I always did it feet first Fe .
Speaker 5Yeah .
Speaker 2Yeah , do seals actually do things like that , like headfirst or ?
Speaker 5no , I can't think of a scenario you don't want to be falling from that high . The only scenario where you're falling from that high is if you're doing it's called a hook and climb up on a ship from a small boat and you do not want to be falling without water because you're probably wearing close to 100 pounds of gear , you'll be sinking like a rock . Yeah , crazy .
Speaker 2So , chad , it's such a joy to have you back . I think I mentioned Chad served with the ministry . Obviously , we talked about On the Box and those days , and it's been a joy to see the Lord take your life and give you a spotlight . Tell us a little bit about your speaking ministry . Look , we're going to get into something important in a little while here , but we just want to familiarize everyone with you and just talk about what God has done in and through you . We're going to talk about a really , really important issue going on actually .
Speaker 4That's right . We're going to talk about something important . Now let's do this . This isn't important .
Speaker 2But no , this is an action point because we want to mobilize people to really get out there and vote , because this is really important . Yeah , but first of all , just briefly , if you can just kind of share your testimony with us who were you before Christ ? Tell us about what happened with the Navy SEALs , and then your book and on from there .
Speaker 5Yeah . So getting into the SEAL teams , or just prior to being a SEAL , I was mentored by an extraordinary Navy SEAL by the name of Scott Halvenston . This guy holds all kinds of records . He's a world champion panathlete . He's the fastest Navy SEAL on the SEAL training obstacle course . He was the youngest man to ever make it through SEAL training . He graduated . He was a SEAL by 17 years old .
Speaker 5This is a guy that was brought up with a rough childhood . He grew up in over 21 different foster homes , so the military took him at a very early age . He was also the only man to beat the Beast on a TV program called man vs Beast , where he raced a chimpanzee through an obstacle course . And of all places , he pulls ahead of this monkey on the monkey bars . So you can imagine what it's like for him to be training me up . And so I got trained up by him and he had to take an opportunity to go overseas , as he put it , to go overseas one last time . He was going to be going off to Iraq and he's on a phone call with me and I'm soon going to be leaving for boot camp , and over the phone he just says I want you to know something I've never told anyone I've ever trained before . He says I know you're going to make it through SEAL training , and that meant the world to hear that from my mentor , and it was just a handful of days later . I would actually see him strung upside down from the Euphrates River Bridge on national television , as this group of insurgents had ambushed the vehicle that he was in along with three other Americans , and they were mutilating their bodies and chanting in Arabic . Fallujah is the graveyard of Americans and , pretty needless to say , I'll never have the words to describe what that moment or the surrounding moments were like . It's
one of those things that radically changes you as a human being , and part of it was .
Speaker 5I just felt like I was forged by that adversity because I remembered my mentor's words Junior , I know you're going to make it through SEAL training . I felt almost as though I have to make it now to fulfill those words and I wanted to get some . Get back , I want to get over there and I want to go . You know , go get people that did stuff like this to him . So I go into SEAL training and the numbers speak for themselves in terms of how difficult it is . I start with a class of 173 guys by graduation day there's only 13 of that original class number still standing around by far one of the happiest , most fulfilling moments of my life . I remember looking up thinking Scott , we did this . I had his name written on the inside of my hat . I'm getting this trident that says like hey , this is your new identity . You're a Navy SEAL . I get put on SEAL Team 1 . And I really felt like from this point forward everything's going to start going on this upper trajectory . But what I wasn't ready for was it probably took no more than 24 hours before I felt the wind coming out of that sail and everything kind of circling a drain and going downhill from that point forward . And I couldn't wrap my mind around why . Because I just achieved what I thought was like the ultimate dream . And it was years later .
Speaker 5Hearing a Christian philosopher say you know , one of the loneliest moments a man will ever experience is when he's achieved that which he thought would deliver the ultimate and in the end it lets him down . Really , what he's referring to is that human condition , the whole point that there's nothing in this world that can really satisfy . I like CS Lewis's quote on that where he says if I find within myself nothing in which this world can satisfy . Where he says , if I find within myself nothing in which this world can satisfy , the only logical explanation is that I'm meant for another world . Jesus puts it best where he says what's it profit a man if he gains the whole world but in the end loses his soul ? So , looking back , really that was the issue I made .
Speaker 5Becoming a SEAL and an idol , it became the most important , preeminent thing in my life . That's what it occupied in my heart . And God was somewhere down the list . And , like Jesus says , you know , he's the Prince of Peace , and I think that we could pull from the scriptures that if you don't have any peace with your creator , you'll never experience any peace while you're here on earth . And so I had no peace as a SEAL and I didn't know that Christ was the answer .
Speaker 5Really , at that time I kind of thought I knew God and I thought I would call myself a Christian . It was on my dog tag . I'd be like oh yeah , I'm a Christian too . But the reality was is there's nothing about my life at that time . If I was accused of being a Christian , there wouldn't be much evidence to convict at that time , and it was through that process of being in the teams , though , I ended up being confronted with the gospel message through 2 Kings 5 . It's like Jesus says if you knew the scriptures , you would know they testify of me .
Speaker 5It was an Old Testament text that really opened my eyes to the gospel , and it's that story of Naaman in the Old Testament , the commander , that had all the success . He sounds like he could have been a seal , had there been seals during his time . He's this warrior , except he has leprosy and leprosy . Well , jesus , looking back , specifically said nobody had ever been healed of leprosy during the time of Naaman , and so it's terminal . So on the outside he's got this sort of persona . He's this Syrian commander . He's getting into the VIP meet and greets . Even the king wants to rub shoulders with Naaman . He loves his company , but he has this incurable leprosy and he hears about this man of God that serves the God of Israel that will heal him of his leprosy .
Speaker 5And the unsung hero in that story is a little servant girl that just spoke up . And he goes and he gets told basically , go dip yourself in the Jordan River seven times , and he feels completely offended . He's reasoning saying look , I got better water where I'm from in Damascus , why would I go dip myself in this Jordan River ? And as he's leaving in this rage , I think what people don't realize , that they begin to realize , is that that leprosy is really only a surface symptom of a much deeper issue that Naaman has .
Speaker 5The deeper issue is that pride and every sin that we ever commit is impregnated with pride . We know that's how it all really began . It all started with this pride . What Naaman was going to need to do to be saved from this condition , to be saved by the God of Israel , was he was going to have to humble himself . And so when he made this change of direction to do it kind of compressing things here , but that walk out into that water was almost like the walk he always needed to do , a walk to his own funeral where he's just humbling himself like the peeling away of that armor that probably needed to go , otherwise he would sink like a rock . I'm sure they were wearing some pretty heavy stuff back then . It's almost like peeling away the pride , the ego that needed to go and he's dipping himself . These seven times we know it's a number of completion in the scriptures comes up that seventh time and he has brand new skin , like that of a baby . This all gets related to .
Speaker 5Naaman had this disease we could call it leprosy and we all have a disease apart from God . We could call SIN positive . It's sin , and just like Naaman couldn't do anything to get the leprosy off of himself , there's nothing that we can do to get this sin off of ourselves . But just as God provided a salvation , a solution for Naaman , god provided a salvation for us . It's not dipping into the water . What God did is he dipped his son down into the world on that rescue mission and he lives this holy , perfect , sinless life . And so here's Jesus . You know , spiritually speaking , apart from God , we're all spotted and blotted and blemished with sin . But Jesus is holy and pure , unblemished . And I remember what really hit that night for me was this picture that was brought out that at the cross , jesus traded skin with you and I . He took our leprosy , as it were , our sin , upon himself so that we could be lavished with God's grace and mercy , as though we lived the perfect life that Jesus lived . So he pays the penalty of our sin in full at the cross , dies but rises again , conquering sin , conquering death . And then from that place , he declares because I live , you also shall live .
Speaker 5I heard that March 14th 2007 . It just made sense , it clicked for the first time I'd attended church I don't know how many times before just checked out and I couldn't believe . It was almost like I relate it to just like a vapor in the air , almost like when you see someone smoking a cigarette . You can see the smoke coming your way , but it hasn't hit your nose yet . It was like that night . It was always right below my nose and it just it came in and I realized , like this is the truth . I know how I need to respond . I need to repent of my sin and I'm just going all in on Jesus . The same way , I went all in on being a seal , like I am all in on Jesus , and I experienced what the scriptures say . You know , if any man be in Christ , he's a new creation . I sensed it Like I'm a child of God , I'm forgiven of my sin .
Speaker 5And the next immediate thought like in that night there was so much was like , like Paul said , you know , when he was converted , like Lord , what would you have me do ? Like I understood that Jesus isn't just the Savior , like he's the Lord , and my concept of that is like he's like an assault leader in the SEAL teams , like you tell me where you want me to go , and so it was hitting the ground running . You know , as far as you know sharing , and I run into Ray along the way in Huntington Beach . I don't know who . This guy is standing up on a box out there , you know , sharing the gospel , and at first I thought I was being helpful by stopping a heckler , because I'm like let the man speak and I'm stopping this guy . And Ray , I think your first words ever to me is like please leave him alone , sir . He's my heckler . I prayed for him , that's exactly what he said you want this .
Speaker 5Like I just kind of stepped back , like okay , and I was just blown away to watch . You know , really almost like Acts 17 play out , like Mars Hill getting up , you know , in the public , you know spectrum and sharing the gospel , and he has this crowd of hecklers and people asking him questions and I'm feeling uneasy because I don't know the answers to those questions , but I'm watching him just volley right back with an answer and so I just sat and learned and watched how long after you got saved , did you see , ray ?
Speaker 3Within weeks , weeks .
Speaker 2Yeah , and you now , you , I mean , you're at the pier , cause you actually lived near the pier , right , right , right by there , but that's the first time you'd ever seen him .
Speaker 5The first time I'd ever seen Ray was from a distance and I an evolutionist , because he had a big monkey next to him .
Speaker 4Oh , that was you .
Speaker 2It would have been Mark at some point , because he used to dress like Link Six foot six gorilla that we had yeah my wife girlfriend .
Speaker 5at the time she was working at Jack's and she had a lunch break and I got some Subway and we're sitting there at the steps and I see you standing over there , this big monkey thing , and I'm like what's the deal with that guy ? You ?
Speaker 2know .
Speaker 5And then , I became a Christian and then I thought I'm gonna go talk to that evolutionist . So I go .
Speaker 2I see it from a distance I'm walking up . Oh , so you're on a mission to set Ray straight ? Yeah , and then .
Speaker 5I'm just like so disoriented because I realized like no , he's the Christian and these other ones are the you know , the ones that don't believe , and so then I'm like I'm going to help him , I'm going to shut these people up .
Speaker 2I'll be his muscle . You went into seal mode , oh yeah .
Speaker 3Yeah so .
Speaker 2Ray , I'd love to hear from your perspective , like as you started to get to know Chad , like what was going on through your mind you already was a Navy SEAL .
Speaker 4I just absolutely loved him because Chad is enthusiasm incarnate and you told me that first time you open air , preached was more scary than jumping out of a plane .
Speaker 5You got me to do it because you asked me have I ever jumped before ? And I was actually in jump training . At that time I was like , oh yeah , and he goes . Well , I hear that taking that first step out of the plane is a lot like taking that first step onto the box . And my pride at that time was like , oh no , I don't know about that . And at that time , like oh no , I don't know about that . And he goes oh , you don't think so , navy seal , why don't you do it ? And I never thought I'd be open air preaching and I'm like , okay , it was terrifying yeah , absolutely terrifying and it was terrible too , it's on video .
Speaker 5When I used to work in the like the do the editing , I found the old cassette and I recognized the day because I'm like , oh yeah , it was a car show day . That's the day I did that first open air . The way I remembered it is it went really well because a lot of people came up to me afterwards to encourage me and I thought to myself I'll do it again then . And then I go back and I watch it , and this is like years later I found the old cassette . I'm watching it .
Speaker 3I was like oh , that was terrible . That's when you say that because we have that clip . Yeah .
Speaker 4I want that footage . I'd love to see it , oh yeah .
Speaker 2You know , chad , it's amazing , though , like for those that are listening , by way of encouragement , you know , we take that first step , we fumble our way through it . It's that release of that adrenaline , you know , especially when you've been thinking about doing it for a while . But I know there's this one video that we have . I don't know if it was ours or if you put it up , but it was you talking to this guy who was like a philosophy dude and he was like going back and forth with you but to see , like how the Lord used you to really silence him with truth . I mean , the guy started . I mean he was a sharp guy , very intelligent , but you started hitting him with . I remember you've given the analogy about the wallet . It's either on the ground or it's not right , you remember that guy .
Speaker 5I sure do . It was right after I read Jason Lau's book the Ultimate Proof of God's Existence , which was like my introduction to presuppositional apologetics , and it blew my mind because I was always kind of going the route of , like , you know , evidential presenting , like the origin of the universe or the argument for , you know , god's existence from morality , and I'd never really seen this argument before like presuppositional apologetics , what's this ? And then getting introduced to like Greg Bonson , and next thing , you know , there's an opportunity out there on the streets , you know , at the pier , there's always opportunities to kind of engage with a guy back and forth .
Speaker 2And so yeah that was like baby presuppositional apologetic stuff right there , yeah , but man , you really were . It sounded like , because I think , if I recall , you had just gotten yeah , you just gotten a hold of the use of presupp , but you were wielding it with effectiveness , you know , because it's not complex . You know , and , but yet it's . It's so effective yeah .
Speaker 4I just want to say something about Chad . Chad , you're the most exciting photographer cameraman I've ever seen in my life . You run around like a maniac with a camera in hand , getting all sorts of angles and shots up from the wall , and some of our best footage that we've got is because of what you did , especially with 180 . Remember that guy ? Yeah , it was a Nazi guy and you filmed it from a distance and I was did you mic me up or your dad was mic'd ?
Speaker 5up . I think we mic'd my dad up . Yeah , you mic'd your dad up . We've got amazing footage there . Yeah , that guy was gnarly he was awful .
Speaker 1Mark , you have a little story and Chad , I'm like I'm not open air preaching here . People are openly drinking and going around , it's just it's a bad environment . Next thing I know I look over at Chad Chad's open air preaching and Chad talks about how he was a Navy SEAL and the guy next to me goes man , he was no Navy SEAL . So I went over to Chad while Chad's open air preaching I said hey , chad , give me your ID for a second . Well , chad gives me his ID . I go over and I go look , the guy looks at it and he takes his camera phone .
Speaker 5I thought Mark was giving me a water . He asked for my wallet and I was very parched . I'm like how kind of him he's going to give me a water with my own money .
Speaker 1You know I need that .
Speaker 1So the guy went to to take a picture of Chad's ID and I'm thinking this isn't good . I don't know what this means , but you don't want to have a picture of some guy's Navy SEAL ID . So the guy goes to take a picture of it and I go , no , no , no , no , don't do that , don't do that . Next thing , I know the guy's fighting with me to do it and Chad , there's tons of people between Chad and I and I don't came out of nowhere , got the guy in a rear naked chokehold and started running with the guy like 15 feet behind .
Speaker 2Didn't he grab the ID or no ? He had the ID in his hand .
Speaker 5And he was trying to destroy it .
Speaker 3Wow .
Speaker 5Yeah , because I had him in that chokehold and I was just telling him to drop it , let go , and then he had his buddies running up too , you know , and this is a beer fest , know so it's like just yeah , so we started by I didn't even want to be there I didn't even want to be there .
Speaker 5I went to be protection for the other guys and I'm like we're here now . You guys wanted to do it , so do it , open air . And nobody wanted to step up to open air . So I'm like , fine , I'll do it then , you know . And so I just thought it's a bad idea to be here . Yeah , yeah , next , you know , choking the guy out got him in the seal mode ?
Speaker 4yeah , didn't we film that , didn't ? We have footage ?
Speaker 5there's a snap , yeah there . You were gonna put it in a newsletter and then you didn't because you were advised not to at the time . If you guys want to resurface that , I'm fine with that we gotta find that but yeah , it was it turned into .
Speaker 5It's kind of like a fight at a beer fest . There's a big circle of people and I'm in the middle , I'm choking this guy , he's got his friends right there . He drops the ID , I grab it , and then some guy there was a moment where there's this quietness One random dude I remember . He goes , yeah , choking people out for Jesus .
Speaker 4I'm like I got to get out of here .
Speaker 2So I ran .
Speaker 5I didn't want to stick around for the cops .
Speaker 2Ray , it was probably good we didn't have Chad with us in Jerusalem when we were about to get killed . Oh man , we probably attacked everyone . But wow , Chad , that's amazing man . Look , let's try to hit some other things later , because I want to get to this really important issue . So we talked about how you're a city councilman in Huntington Beach . First , just tell us , man , how did that happen ? Like , politics .
Speaker 5So much interesting stuff seems to happen at Pierre Plaza . I was down there with my kids and this is at a time when you know you have the American flag and the pride flag flying at the same time and I'm disappointed , to be honest , you know that that's going on in my city , because I'm going to have to explain things to my kids . I don't really want to have to explain you know what that rainbow flag means . And and at the same time there was just substance abuse , alcohol abuse , it's you know , 5150 , like the city just was not the same anymore . And I'm bringing my kids to a pastime favorite place , thinking it's a pastime favorite , realizing I'm actually bringing them into danger . One guy jumped up just in his insanities in the fourth dimension , screaming in my face in front of my son and my son's going . Daddy , is this man going to fight you ? And I'm just like what has happened to Huntington Beach .
Speaker 4Is this the pier that you're talking about ?
Speaker 5Yeah , right there at the flagpole , yeah . And so the words hit my head . You know , all this required for evil to triumph , for good men to stand back and do nothing , and I got angry . I thought somebody should do something about this and it didn't take very long for the Lord to redirect that right on me . It was like the crosshairs went right on me , like you think . So why don't you do something about it ? And I tried to get it out of my head . I'm like no , no , no , no , no , no , no , no . Like right in the book , yeah , right .
Speaker 5And then my pastor , pastor Joe Pettick , at Calvary Chapel of the Harbor . He calls me up and he wants to talk about something , but he didn't want to bring up what it was on the phone . And I'm like man , this must be pretty serious . Now I'm running the college kids , you know , let's find out . We get there . It's a pretty tight knit group once you get inside the office and he wanted to like get away from everybody else and talk privately . I'm like , oh man , like what is this going
to be ? And so we go into a little room and he's like about to say it , and one person came walking in and he like stopped himself and he like waited for them to leave . I'm like , wow , what is this going to be about them to leave ? I'm like , wow , what is this going to be about ? And he goes .
Speaker 5I want to pray with you because I think that you should run for city council . And I'm like , why are you saying that ? He's like what do you mean ? I'm like , who put you up to that ? And like you wouldn't believe , like , what just happened , you know with me and the kids how long after that ? Oh , a couple of days . Oh man , that's crazy . And so I thought of that scripture by the witness , or two or more things shall be established . I was like , let's let's pray about it . And we prayed about it and it was like , from that point forward , everything began to align and ran for city council and ended up getting the most votes ever in the history of the city . What and I'm just trying to figure out what's like the real why here , because I know that I'm not on city council for land use and land zoning as important as that stuff is .
Speaker 5There's definitely a God reason to all of this , and I really do believe for such a time as this . What we're experiencing in Huntington Beach right now is one of those big reasons , and so it's so important for us . Just as adults , as people made in the image of God , we're supposed to be defenders of defenseless and the most vulnerable and the most innocent in our society are our children . And right now , in our public library , like public , tax dollars are being spent to provide very harmful content in a children's section or a section where minors can get access to books that literally are cataloged as sex instructions for children . And in these books , in this particular one , this book called let's Talk About it sounds innocent , you know on the surface it actually . It has very graphic pictures you cannot show . In fact , one of the council members posted a blurred version of it , so you can't really tell what's going on . Facebook took it down and called it sex , and they called it child sexual exploitation . Wow , yet in the library they call it education . In this particular book , it instructs kids to watch porn , figure out who their favorite porn stars are and then go pay for their porn . No , no , this is and this is just one of many books . This is a book in the public library , in the public library , available to children , cataloged as sex instructions for children . That's demonic , man .
Speaker 5So what our city council had done is it passed legislation that would put in place a board of 21 parents and guardians , community members it could be doctors , engineers , whatever and this board would operate as a safeguard so that whenever there's one of these books that was flagged as potentially inappropriate , the power was in the hands of the people . They would decide if this book should just simply be moved into a more appropriate section . So we're not even talking about removing the book out of the library , just move it into an appropriate section . So that's what this Measure A is all about is an attempt to try and take that away . Wow , so the city council passed legislation to put the safeguard in . Measure A is an attempt to strip away that parent guardian board , and then this measure B is an attempt to strip away the power of the council , so that we wouldn't be able to do things like that anymore . So once they've locked out the parents , they've locked out the council , they lock in the same broken system and they continue to provide this content for the kids .
Speaker 2Whoa . So , Chad , let me ask you this , and I want you guys to jump in on this the topic of this episode is how to protect your kids from a wicked world , what you just described to me . If it wasn't you telling me this , I would have a hard time believing it . Because how in the world have we gotten to a place in our society's history where adults ? Why do you need it ? I mean , we know why , but I'm just kind of speaking crazy . Why in the world would you need a city council ? Why would you need laws ? Where are the human beings to stand up and say what in the world are we doing ? That book should be shredded to pieces . It makes me mad man . So what's the justification for removing this 21-person board ? How are they spinning it ?
Speaker 5The way they're trying to spin it is they're saying that power is being taken away from parents because we're censoring , because that board they would call it a book banning committee and so they say that it's censorship . Simultaneously , we're being sued by the ACLU , which is the same group that defended NAMBLA , and this is an organization that literally means the North American Man-Boy Love Association . This is a group that openly advocates for the removal of the age of consent between an adult man and a boy , and so you have that group , aclu , meddling in . You know , our city business suing us , and what they want to do is they want to try and remove the parents out of the equation , and really this is just right , in line with the plans of the enemy of our soul . You know this plays into the scriptures , in the days where they will call you know good evil , and they call evil good . They say it's education . You know they say that it's good for kids to be exposed to things like this .
Speaker 5It's almost like you know that show how to catch a predator . You know , when you ask them justify this why is it okay ? Like one of these , and I could maybe read an excerpt it's brutal . It's a father that rapes one of his daughters in graphic detail and how she's crying and saying please , daddy , no , please stop , it hurts . This is available to our young ones in the library . Why would any child , why should they be reading that ? Why would any adult be reading that ? I think that whoever checks that book out should probably be cross-checked with Megan's Law . Oh yeah , but this is what's in our library right now .
Speaker 5And so you ask them why would you think that's okay for a kid ? And they say , well , it helps them and it could guide them . That's exactly what the predator says whenever you catch them on the shows . What were you doing ? Meeting up with this young child ? I was just trying to guide them . I was just trying to help them . And so it's like Joseph Goebbels used to say , which was Hitler's chief propagandist if you control the youth , you control the future . And so they're trying that book . It's perfectly normal . They want everyone to think it's perfectly normal , so they can't get the adults and they laugh and they brag about it . I remember there was a gay choir out of San Francisco that literally sang like we might not be able to change you , but we'll convert your children . And they said it happens bit by bit , and this is exactly what they're doing .
Speaker 2One thread at a time . I saw that video , man , and it was so indicative of where we're at . You know , I'm reminded of I love what Chad said , that quote about you know , good men doing nothing or staying silent , but it reminds me of what we've talked about , of you putting that blanket on the billboard , you know . Or you , you know , holding up the abortion pictures in New Zealand when it wasn't popular to do so . Just speak to those that don't get involved for righteousness sake .
Speaker 4Well , I want to say that I feel Chad's pain because I had the same pain 35 , 40 years ago when I found out what homosexuals wanted to do in our country . So I produced a Living Waters paper and I looked at the Scripture that says I have nothing to do with shameful works of darkness , but rather expose them , for it's a shame to even talk about them . So I had this dilemma where I wanted to say Christians , this is really bad , but I couldn't be too graphic and I couldn't show how bad it was . And that's the dilemma that Chad's got . All he can do is use words , but one picture would horrify us to what these people want to do Chad , what's stopping Christians just going in there and checking out the books that are bad and tossing them in the river ?
Speaker 5Well , they're all checked out and it seems like a lot of them haven't been getting returned . But the librarians just order more . But Chad .
Speaker 2Did you guys remove those books , that Council of 21 ? I mean they're active right now , right , it's not active .
Speaker 5It was just about to get the wheels off the ground when this lawsuit from the ACLU hit .
Speaker 2So they stayed it .
Speaker 5Right , yeah , we're in the middle of pending litigation . Wow , yeah .
Speaker 2Mark , you know I want to get your perspective on this because I said the word earlier , demonic . I mean demonic in the sense that you know , we know scripture says he's the prince of the power of the air , the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience . Scripture also talks about those that are saved , who are doing His will before they're saved . Right ? Do you think this is a long-term agenda ? Because , to get to this point I mean Chad mentioned the issue of that song and what they're trying to do with the youth Do you see this as a Well , it didn't happen overnight , right ?
Speaker 1I mean little battles here and there .
Speaker 1I remember Kevin Lewis talking about how we can see something happening over here and we put our attention here , but in reality the enemy's trying to creep up over here and all the time and the attention is over here . But then you have the enemy over here trying to creep in over here and to do a work over here . If we're not discipling our kids , the world is right , the mold of the world , it's been said , is hot and ready to grab a hold of your child and to mold that child into the ways of the world . So we need to always be alert , always be on our guard , and if we can disciple our kids while they're young , well then they'll be ready and discipled when it comes up . So we as adults , we're trying to have a voice in the midst of books like this , but when the child comes in , that voice is so much more powerful in and of itself For that child to come before a student board or the city council and to say something like that , it goes viral . Something like that goes viral .
Speaker 1So , we need to teach our kids to be soldiers , to be warriors , at a very young age , because they're going to be soldiers , whether they like it or not , when they get older .
Speaker 2You know , oscar , we're so blessed to live in a country where we can do what Chad is attempting to do . You know , when I hear Christians talk about ah politics , I don't get involved in that . It really makes me mad . It's like wait a minute . So you're a believer , you have the mind of Christ , you're salt and light in the world , you have discernment to understand what's good and evil and you have the power that raised Jesus from the dead dwelling in you , and you live in a nation that the world envies . Believers envy to think that I could have a voice , I could vote , I could champion righteous causes , but we just kind of don't do anything about it . I'd love you to speak to that , like our call to get involved in stuff like this .
Speaker 3Yeah , I think we can learn so much from the early church in this situation and many of the situations that we face in our culture , because often we think you talked about the history of it and in many ways it's new to us . It started during the French Revolution , but it's not new to history , and I know I've talked about this before . But you look at early church history , especially those first two to 300 years . The early church was birthed in a time in which culture was antithetical to the gospel .
Speaker 3Nero himself , the Caesar of Rome , had a male lover who would stand by his side , and this wasn't shocking to everybody . It was very common for men to take young boys as partners , and no one thought twice of it . It was considered almost like an ethical obligation . And yet , to your point , the early church didn't shy away . They were weird . They were persecuted for their love of scripture , for their love of neighbor and for their love of truth , beauty and goodness , and the way that they engage themselves in culture radically changed Rome . At that time , we got the new sexual ethic that we are now fighting for once again , and so I guess I'd say two things . One , we absolutely need to speak up . Speak up with words , speak up with action , speak up with loving service . But we also have an opportunity to be hopeful here , because just as things seem to get the darkest , that's when it seems like God goes to work through faithful servants like yourself .
Speaker 2Amen , amen . Well put , oscar . And I often wonder . Well , I don't have to wonder , actually , I know they would have . We do talk about the importance of recognizing that the answer is the gospel . Right , that is the answer . But we also have to remember that the early church , they were under tyranny . I mean , the early Jewish believers were under tyranny . They didn't have the liberties we have today . If they had them , of course they would have used them for the glory of God and influence society . Of course they would have used them for the glory of God and to influence society . But , chad , you know , I heard recently this congressman .
Speaker 2There was a hearing going on . I think it was a Senate hearing , and the chairman was introducing a transgender council member , or yeah , whatever . And he said Mr , he referred to him as Mr , even though this guy's transgender , and it was a congressional hearing . That's what I was looking for . And one of the other congressmen looked at the chairman and said sir , have you no decency ? Sir , have you no decency ? And I thought , man , what a twisted world we're living in . You have this man dressed like a woman , wanting to force everyone to make believe with them , and the one who's called indecent is the one who's walking in reality . That's what's happened , right ? Good evil , evil , evil good .
Speaker 5It's like immorality has become a normality and it seems like that's the downfall of civilizations . If you go back to the flood and in the days of Noah , going forward to Sodom and Gomorrah , even visiting like Pompeii I went there for my honeymoon with Aubrey it's like amazing to see like what was left , and then you discover just how perverted that culture was .
Speaker 4What happened to Niagara Falls for a hundred years , it's no wonder though that Malvasivius their 10-year anniversary , they went to Vietnam .
Speaker 5Yeah , they got erupted on . The only wonder is , why hasn't God erupted His judgment on us ? We say may God bless America . In God we trust , and this immorality has really become a normality and we do have a responsibility to speak up . Early church , even all the way back into the book of Acts , it's like men might say one thing ought we obey men or God ? You know , as Paul says in Galatians , like , am I seeking for man's approval ? No , if I was doing that , I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing right now .
Speaker 5He's only concerned with the approval of God and being salt and light , the way that Jesus commanded us to do . So he also . It was like a precursor . We are to understand what came first in those Beatitudes , like what it means to be a disciple of the kingdom it leads up to . Blessed are those you know who are persecuted for righteousness sake , and he re-emphasizes that . Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you falsely . For my sake , rejoice and be exceedingly glad , for great is your reward in heaven . For so they persecuted the prophets who are before you . So you look at the legacy of those who have gone before you to sort of study , that resolve that you have as you go into it now . And then he says you are the salt of the earth and in being a preservative , I think that we have to be careful not to look out for that self-preservation . And that's what Jesus was really at Like .
Speaker 5In Matthew 10 , he says that a disciple is not above his teacher , nor a servant above his master . It's enough that a disciple be like his teacher , or servant like his master . If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub , they called Jesus that . How much more would they call those of his own household ? And then he encourages us . So we can't do it better than him . They hated him , they're going to hate us . They want us to take that light and put it under a basket .
Speaker 5Jesus says don't do that . You take that light , you put it on top of the lampstand . It gives light and , like you said right Ephesians 5 , 11 , have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness , rather what Expose them . And when you expose it , they hate you for it . And that's what Jesus says in John 3 , right , like the light has come into the world . But men love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil , for everyone practicing evil hates that light and doesn't come to the light lest their deeds should be exposed . So those are the results that will happen and they are happening and it's really it's even in like their rule book that they play by . You know , whenever you begin to expose that darkness , they want to go attack the messenger rather than the actual message itself and they get real nasty with it . And that's kind of part of what I've been dealing with in huntington beach is , you know , rather than really focus on the message , they just been attacking me , my name , and even giving my kids a hard time at school .
Speaker 5Oh yeah , because they have sort of a framework that they utilize . This is how they got Tito Ortiz to step down from council and you know , move to Florida is . They attacked him in his household and they put the pressure on him to the point where he's like . I asked him before running what did you not know back then that you wish you knew now ? And it was the pressure that was going to be placed on the family . And so that's what they're doing . Even now . They're spray painting my name all over town saying protect HB from Chad . They say doth protest too loudly . They try and make me out to be a pervert because I'm obsessed with the perverted
books . My daughter is getting ridiculed at school . Your dad's the porn dad . It's a mess . But these are all attempts to try and get us to cower and back down , and I think it's a great opportunity for my kids to see that we're gonna stand for the truth and we're not gonna back down , no matter what how ?
Speaker 5old are your kids ? Now Nine and 12 .
Speaker 2Wow , yeah , ray , there is something isn't there for kids seeing their parents stand up for righteousness and not cower in the face of it . I'd love you to speak to parents in that regard . How do we demonstrate to our kids that we can't bow to the powers ?
Speaker 4that be yeah . Don't let there be any hypocrisy in your life . Love righteousness . Stand up for that which is good , because that's when kids will really respect you as a parent when you stand up for righteousness .
Speaker 2Mark , you've always spoken to discipleship not being necessarily this formal thing you do . Let's read a book together , Speak to that . I'd love you to repeat that . What's discipleship look like ?
Speaker 1It's the rising up , it's the sitting down . To repeat that , what's discipleship ? Look like , yeah , it's the rising up , it's the sitting down , it's hey , I'm going to the grocery store , you're coming with me . I'm going to this memorial service , you're with me , I'm going to Costco , you're with me . We tend to think that discipleship is hey , we're going to go through a book together and that's important , but it's watching your lifestyle .
Speaker 1We need to teach our children to speak up against the lies , not just coexist next to them . Now you need to kind of pick and choose what lie you're going to come up against . When my kids entered into college , I said listen , not everything is a battle to die on , but you need to study your professor , this atheistic professor , study them and be a student of them , and realize when is the best time to be able to speak , when can I have a voice in the midst of all the kids and all the people that are around me ? If you don't name sin , they'll rename it progress , and this is exactly what Chad's doing . Right , we live in a society that is calling .
Speaker 1Well , we are moving forward , Our morals are evolving , we are progressing forward , but when there's no objective standard , well then , what are you progressing towards ? There is no right , there's no wrong , there's no good , there's no bad , there's no sacred , there's no secular . Things are just being made . Decisions are just coming forward . So when we have somebody like Chad who is standing up saying , hey , I'm willing to stand up while you sit down , while you sit in front of the television , while you go to the Little League and do what you're going to do and obviously there's nothing wrong with all of that but Chad is 24 hours . We just heard him say a few minutes ago that he gets these threats 24 hours a day , and not just him , but his children . Who needs prayer ? Chad needs prayer . The city councilmen need prayer . I haven't been down to Huntington Beach yet , but I know this is Pride Month .
Speaker 1Is there a pride flag that's hanging up at the pier .
Speaker 5No , there's not Not anymore .
Speaker 1Yeah , praise God , and we see it inside of our videos that people are saying where is this place where there is a pride flag that is flying at the Huntington Beach Pier ? I was born in Huntington Beach . That is my hometown , where I grew up , and I can't be more proud of you , Chad , and the work that God is doing through you and God is doing to you . I'm just proud to call you my friend Praise God .
Speaker 2You know , oscar , I'd love you to hit on this . You know Chad mentioned how we need to be careful that we don't make self-preservation our focus , because that leads to dangerous things . But I'd like to look at another angle of that right , because you've talked about this a lot that selfishness in us that is focused only on us . We're not thinking about preserving future generations . So the other angle of the good kind of preservation right In that man we need to think about if we don't stand up now , our children and future generations are gonna suffer . So how important is that
to like to think ahead and to live for future generations ?
Speaker 3Man , I wish people I should say like this I wonder how different your life would be is if you lived thinking about your children and grandchildren looking back at you . You know what I mean . Like I , there's a comedian that talked about how , like he's got this one photograph of his great grandpa and it's a black and white and a tuxedo and then he's like my great great grandchildren would look back and see 10,000 pictures of all the food I ate .
Speaker 3You know , like , just like how ridiculous of a legacy is he leaving for his own children ? And in many ways , we have this tremendous opportunity to leave a legacy for our children . And sure , maybe you don't have a podcast or a YouTube channel , but your kids are watching and that's the legacy you're leaving . You know shameful plug here For those who don't know Way of the Master , season 10 is currently available on livingwonderstv . My kids have been watching it lately . Um , I didn't ask them to , I just came home and they're like they're they're binging the show , you know , which is kind of embarrassing for me . I don't know why . It's just weird seeing my kids watch me on TV but uh , they they're pausing it and talking to each other . That was so good when Ray said this , or when Easy and Mark and all and I was just . It was the first time that I saw my kids see what we do through their lens . And we have that opportunity as parents .
Speaker 3When your kids are like standing next to you and you're proclaiming the gospel , they're listening . They're not just listening to your words , they're listening to your character , they're listening to your passion . When you're defending truth , they're listening . They're not just listening to your words , they're listening to your character . They're listening to your passion . When you're defending truth , they're listening . They're not just listening to your words , you're listening to your character . That's the legacy we leave to our children . When we live our lives , we don't just live it for ourselves . We live it for those who are watching us .
Speaker 2Amen , chad . Let me just say , brother , my soul is so stirred today , man , I'm personally challenged , you know , in this regard , because you know we're doing what we're doing and we're contributing the way we're contributing . But it's easy to just kind of , you know , get a blind spot to certain areas where , like you , can be effective . You know , get a blind spot to certain areas where , like you , can be effective . The reason why I'm heartened by your story is because there's just a lot of hypocrisy out there . We hear that refrain all the time . What politician doesn't say , oh , I'm doing this for , you know , for the people , for future generations ? And you know , that's just . That's a bunch of hooey right . But I know that that's why you're doing it . I know that you have a great life . God is using you . You're traveling , you're speaking , you have a book that sold hundreds of thousands of copies , you're in ministry . You don't need to be a city councilman .
Speaker 5I don't want to be , I know right , I don't . It's the assignment . But I'm ready for the Lord to give me new orders .
Speaker 4Oh , ted , for president .
Speaker 2Well , and you know . But the thing is , the thing that encourages me all the more , and knowing your motive behind this is because you spoke to Ortiz and he told you that that was before you ran . Right , this is what I went , and you knew the pressure that was coming . So , man , I praise God for that . But what has this done for you ? Like your daughter man coming . So , man , I praise God for that . But what has this done for you ? Like your daughter man , your kids are being harassed Like that is that's the last frontier , you know ? Has this made you steal your ?
Speaker 5resolve . I mean , are you determined ? That's the hardest part for me , because I could take the external hits all day long . You know , and you can only imagine what it might be like . You know if they start going after the family and , you know , give my wife a hard time or the kids a hard time , and then , when it's actually happening , I don't want to give them , you know , credit in any way and let them think like , hey , we're being super effective here .
Speaker 5At the end of the day , you know we're still here , we're forged by that adversity , and so it is one of the things that's stealing the resolve of the family , and so I'm thankful for it . You know God's allowing this to happen , and sometimes you get a bask in the sunlight , and other times that storm comes , you're dashed upon the rocks . It's you know really what you do in those moments that determines what type of a person you are , and I know that the family will be strengthened from it . And this is all just more preparation , then for , like , greater use in the future . Every now and then you got to go through the pressure cooker , you gotta hop into the furnace , and you know we're in the furnace a little bit right now , but it doesn't last forever . You know these , everything kind of comes in a season and we'll come out strengthened and more able to lift , you know , heavier spiritual weights you know , in the future We'd rather obey God than man .
Speaker 2I think of you know , hannah and I , and , and Azariah or Shadrach , meshach and Abednego . They were about to be thrown into the furnace and they said come what may , our God , whom we serve , is able . They trusted in the power of God , but if not , would they trust in the providence of God ? Because ultimately , they knew the person of God , our God whom we serve , and , brother . That's encouraging . So give us any more details you can about this bill and what people can do , not just the people that are listening , that are in Huntington Beach , but those in broader Orange County and even those in other states . Can they give ? So give us everything that people need to know .
Speaker 5The giving part is the practical part . It's kind of like ammunition . It's like bullets out there on the battlefield and I'm out of bullets and then I get restored , you know . So we have to get the message out in the mail . That's how we get the message out about what's going on , because right now they're out there lying saying that a vote yes is to save children and to protect parental rights . That's literally the lie right , and so they have .
Speaker 4And some of your friends have been fooled by that .
Speaker 5I have had conservative . I've gone to doors , people at church come up the steps when I'm greeting them and they say , chad , we're with you . We're voting yes and I go no . It's a no and they go what ? I saw this sign on the way in . It said save our children and protect parental rights . I go no . That's the lie
. And so it's like Mark Twain says the lie is already halfway around the world . While the shoelaces is still getting , you're still getting your shoelaces tied , and that's kind of where we're at . They have all of this outside help , outside money . They're getting people to show up and vote the wrong way . So the only way I could really correct the message is either speak to people , like I did on those steps , but there's 200,000 people in Huntington Beach . The other way to get ahold of them all is either through mail or through text messaging . So I'm doing both , but it's expensive . It costs $25,000 just to do one mail piece to a targeted audience .
Speaker 2So that's where people can get . What can they get ?
Speaker 5ProtectHBKidscom . So ProtectHBKidscom , and the election is . It's all coming to a close here . June 10th is going to be like the day that decides it all . The other really big thing , the most important thing of all , is that God's people show up and vote . It's going to be a very low turnout , since it's a special election . This is the only thing on the ballot , so most people won't even bother to get involved .
Speaker 5Almost everyone listening or watching right now knows somebody in Huntington Beach , and so that's your part you can do is reach out to that person you know in Huntington Beach and tell them how important it is you get out and vote right now and then to be praying as well , and the prayer . Really that's the air support in all of this , and it's a David versus Goliath . They really are a giant right now , but we know how God works . The eyes of the Lord go to and fro throughout the whole earth to show himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are loyal towards him . So if we have a loyal , just church community internationally praying for this , that God would have mercy on Huntington Beach , that he would show himself strong . It will be a witness to the other side , because right now , as terms of evidence goes , the odds are completely against us .
Speaker 5We are actually behind . You can't count , but you can count the ballot returns . The folks that are on the left that are all for murdering babies in the womb and so forth , and they're ahead on ballot returns . That's unheard of at this stage . They're ahead All right . So we're going to have to come from behind and launch ahead in these final days and that's why I'm so thankful that you guys were willing to do this podcast .
Speaker 4And we'll just see what the Lord will do it's like .
Speaker 5Jonathan says let's go after those uncircumcised Philistines and let's see what the Lord will do .
Speaker 2Yeah , and let me say , Chad , to our friends listening , this is urgent . So we're moving this episode up . This would have aired maybe in a couple months , but be in a couple months , but we're making this air on June 5th and the election is the 10th , that's right . So , friends , that means there's an urgency . We have to get those dollars in . I know there's some of you listening that have means . So Chad just said $25,000 for the mailers . Whether that's going to help to replenish what they are spending if they've gotten that money in or not . It's going to help them for future fights as well . So , please get involved now . This is a big way you can do it . You can't . You don't live in Huntington Beach , you're from another city or state or country even , but you can help in this way . So , Chad , where can people send funds ? Is it that same website ? Yes , ProtectHBKidscom .
Speaker 5There's a donate button on there .
Speaker 2And would it help for people to like come down to Huntington Beach and knock on doors with you guys . That would be huge , it would .
Speaker 5So just reach out on the website and if you're interested in doing that , there's a way that you can write a comment and in that form , just say hey , I'm interested in knocking doors . We still have one weekend and we got one Monday left before this is all over , Okay .
Speaker 2All right , friend . So look , no silliness today . I want to leave this ringing in your ears . Website one more time Chad ProtectHBKidscom . Okay , so check that out . And if you want to know more about Chad , check out Seal of God . You can find it , amazon , anywhere Chad . Thanks for being with us , brother .
