My name is Dylan Schmidt and Welcome to Digital Podcaster. One of the biggest fears I hear from people isn't that they'll say something on their podcast that they'll regret. It's that they'll run out of things to say, once they start their podcast. And I just got this comment again this morning on my social media saying I'd love to start a podcast, but I'm afraid I'll run out of things to say, I get it. Any content creation, there is this deep rooted fear of what if I don't have the best things to say? I get it because I felt that many of times, like do I have enough to speak on this subject, I have put together five reminders for you that will help you remember that you'll never run out of things to say. And before we dive into this, I will say I think running out of things to say or having that fear of that stems from a fear of not getting it perfect. Because if you didn't have to get it perfect, what would you say? I don't believe that anyone has some finite amount of topics around a certain singular subject. There's one book that I recommend that will prove to you that you'll never run out of things to say, it's called the artists way. And it's by Julia Cameron. I was definitely a believer that I would run out of things to say just in general. And then I went through that book. And by the end of it, I was like, Okay, well, I'm definitely not going to. But there are some more, I would say grounded ideas that I'm gonna share with you right now. And we'll breeze through them real quick five ways you'll never run out of things to say in your podcast. Number one is knowing your audience, who are you speaking to? What are their interests? What are their pain points, the better you can understand your audience, the easier it will be to come up with topics that they will find interesting and engaging. Number two is planning ahead. This means having a general idea of the topics that you want to cover and creating an outline for each episode. This gives you a roadmap to follow and it will help you stay on track because you can see 50,000 feet up of where you're going to be going. But if you're constantly behind, you're not going to be able to get ahead number three is doing your research. This means familiarizing yourself with the topics gathering all the information you need before you sit down to record by doing your research, you're going to be able to speak more confidently about the topic or topics are for be prepared to improvise. We talked about doing your research. But there still will be times where you will find yourself at a loss for words, you can plan for the unplanned, right. This means thinking on your feet and coming up with new ideas or tangents on the fly. And if you're prepared for this possibility, it will be so much easier to keep the conversation going even if you had to snack. So that means you have a list of general questions that you could ask you if you're interviewing someone, it could be just like some list of some general road markers to ask your guest or if it's about what you're talking about having that outline will help you kind of fall back to the center of where you're trying to go. But again, none of this happens if you don't plan ahead. And number five is relaxing and having fun. It's important to relax and have fun when you're recording your podcast. Almost everyone I talked to wants to make their podcast fun. Nobody's like I want to get into this because I want to be tense. I want to be nervous. And all of when you're tense and nervous. It's usually a result of not doing the four other things I just outlined here. And when you're tense and nervous, it comes across to your audience. And they hear that and it makes it difficult for your listeners to stay engaged with your content to listen and to want to like keep listening, because maybe they'll might extract one thing but you want them to listen again and again. So try to relax and enjoy yourself. Try to breathe through that because the more fun you're having, the more likely it is that your listener is going to enjoy themselves as well. I hope this helps.
