People are so busy, we're so consumed with all of the content that's going on. It's not that people don't want to listen to your podcast, they simply probably don't know that it's even available or that you have a new episode. This is the show for creative entrepreneurs who have a message to share and want to live a life of freedom. Learn how to grow your network, and net worth. Hear from exciting guests, and more. My name is Dylan Schmidt, and welcome to Digital Podcaster. Let's talk the lazy way to market your podcast. And really, if you ever hear me say the lazy way to market your podcast, it's really just the more effective and fun way to market your podcast. If you're short on time, short on energy, whatever it is, when it comes down to the lazy way to marketing your podcast, it would look something like this. You have already recorded edited your podcast and you've got it ready to go. Right? We're not talking about all the stuff that happens in the pre production. We're talking post production, right, there's a couple things you want to do. You want to have an optimized episode title. Your episode title is one of the first things that people see when they come across your podcast. Next to your show name is the episode title. Think about when you're scrolling through a podcast and you're trying to find which episode you want to tap on. And here, you're going to look at the episode title. Depending on the podcast, if it's an interview style podcast, then you're going to look at who the guest is, is an educational style podcast, you're going to look at what the topic is. Let's use my podcast for an example. If you were looking at Digital Podcaster, and you wanted to learn about monetizing your podcast, but say all of my episode titles, either didn't include anything about the topic I'm talking about, or you know, it didn't say anything about what you came to look for which is monetizing your podcast, then you're not going to tap on any of those episode titles. That's why it's important to really take time and consideration into what you title your episode. Second is really take care and consideration into the first three sentences that are in your episode description. Those should be building curiosity, and really piggybacking off of your episode title to get someone to click through and listen. If you can hook someone in that episode description, they're going to click through to your episode. Maybe they're on the fence of whether or not they want to listen. So really just either pose a question as the first sentence on your episode description or make a statement that might pique their curiosity. Sometimes, it's crazy to think that Digital Podcaster is already on its way to cross over 15,000 followers on Tiktok and Instagram, I try my best to post engaging short form content there that gives you bite sized tips so that you can incorporate things in your show and provide a better listening experience for your audience. Just go to tick tock or Instagram and search Digital Podcaster. And I will see you there. Third, make sure you're making your podcasts available. Wherever you're active. I see so many podcasters get this wrong, they just expect listeners to find their podcast again laziest way is just simply putting a link to your podcast. In your bio on Instagram, for example, just put the link to your podcast in your bio. I know this sounds obvious, but you wouldn't believe how many podcasts that come across that simply just say, just search wherever podcasts are listened to. There's so many ways you can share multiple links in your bio these days, you can go to bio dot Dylan schmidt.com. To see an example. I like using beacons.ai, which is a tool that allows you to embed your podcast in the link in your bio, it's really cool, you can check out my profile at Digital Podcaster on tick tock or Instagram to see an example of what I'm talking about. What's cool about this is it automatically updates every time you release a new episode. So I don't have to manually go into my social media profile and update that link it updates automatically. So to recap, episode titles, Episode description, put the link in your bio, and make sure that that link in your bio is automatically updating. Fourth thing is to simply tell people that you have a new episode available. If you don't tell people you have it available. Nobody's going to know. Like we expect people to catch on to our rhythms, especially when we're earlier on. But even after the fact, people are so busy, we're so consumed with all of the content that's going on. And it's not that people don't want to listen to your podcast, they simply probably don't know that it's even available or that you have a new episode available. So you got to continually remind people that you have a new episode available, and show them why they should listen. Again, this isn't a lot of work. You're already doing the work really we're just optimizing the work that you're doing. So when it comes to telling or showing people why they should listen to your podcast that looks like recording a quick video or typing out a quick few sentences about what they can expect to hear inside that episode. And then providing again, that direct link to listen to the episode. If you just follow those four things. You will grow your podcast, you have to write a title for your episode. So write a great title and the more you do it, the easier and quicker it gets. You have to write an episode description for your podcast. So really focus on those first three sentences, you've most likely already have a link in your bio. Why not use one that automatically updates and embeds a player in it like the one I'm using? And then the fourth one is, you already talked to people about your podcast, but intentionally do it right create some structure around it, spin 15 minutes or less a week, just showing people why they should listen to your podcast and you'll see an increase in listeners. Alright, that's all I got for you. Now. I will catch you in the next episode.
