If you make a podcast clip that looks like a podcast clip that's not going to perform as well as simply just a great looking clip. So that doesn't mean necessarily that you need to change up your studio, you need to change how you talk none of that. This is the show for creative entrepreneurs who have a message to share and want to live a life of freedom. Learn how to grow your network, and net worth. Hear from exciting guests, and more. My name is Dylan Schmidt and Welcome to Digital Podcaster. Let's go over four podcasting growth tips that will work for every show, I guarantee it or your money back. I kid I kid because this episode, and all episodes are free. So first, right off the bat is optimizing your shownotes. Optimizing Your shownotes is one of the more underrated things that podcasters seem to overlook. But they do make a difference. When it comes to your show notes. Actually putting keywords in there. I like to assume that all the computers out there that we're talking into the one I'm talking into right now, the one that you're listening on now as well are smart enough to know the words I'm saying. So every word they say my podcast, I will assume will help my search engine optimization. When someone's searching for something, my podcast will come up. Let's just assume that for a second, right, we know that in the future, things will get more advanced. So we can future proof our show if we just make this assumption. Now. Same with Show Notes though, when you write words, your show notes, write them as if a human was going to read them. And the more you do that, the more your show notes will be read, a lot of people will say, Oh, it doesn't matter what you put in your show notes, no one really reads those. Well, no one reads those. If you don't put any time in there, it's the little details that add up over time. Now we'll say one of the ways you can save times with show notes themselves is by using a template. So it's fairly easy for you to recreate something that's readable for human and easy for you to write. So it doesn't take you all day. But optimizing your show notes is simply writing them and creating curiosity for the listener that is going to be listening to your episode, write them with some keywords, but make them for a human to read them. Number two is write great headlines that get people wanting to listen to your episodes. I see a lot of podcasts out there that simply just put up a episode title. And I could tell there's just no thought into it. Or they get lazy on this part, which bums me out because you put all the effort. Maybe you paid an editor to edit your podcast, maybe you bought all this cool gear. And then you recorded it and you got over all this impostor syndrome, all of this stuff. And then you write a title is boring to the viewer. It's boring to me. And I just glanced right over it and I go to the next episode, or I go to something that just looks more entertaining. If I've never listened to your podcast before, your title is going to be the thing that gets me to listen to the episode unless I'm coming in from a different angle. Unless you're like a news type podcast, or it's something that's very specific with podcast, people go back and listen to older episodes. So it's important that your episode titles are great, it's important that they make me want to click through and listen to the podcast. And that could simply just be the guest. If you have a really popular guest on well then making sure that people read that the guest is on there would be important. But if you have a guest that let's just face it is not a celebrity or that like 99 point 99% of people don't know, then you need to add a supplemental headline in there. Sometimes it's crazy to think that Digital Podcaster is already on its way to cross over 15,000 followers on Tiktok and Instagram, I try my best to post engaging short form content there that gives you bite sized tips so that you can incorporate things in your show and provide a better listening experience for your audience. Just go to tick tock or Instagram and search Digital Podcaster and I will see you there. Number three is going to be repurposing your content so you can grow easily. People love to make repurposing content, especially podcasts into something more complex than it needs to be. What it needs to be is effective. And what is effective is making great looking podcast clips that are video on platforms where people already are. So if you make a podcast clip that looks like a podcast clip, that's not going to perform as well as simply just a great looking clip. So that doesn't mean necessarily that you need to change up your studio, you need to change up how you talk none of that. It comes down to the design and packaging of the podcast clip itself. And if you want to see what I'm talking about, check out my company content clips.com You can see an example. Or if you look at my podcast clips on social media, you can see it's designed in a way that fits across Instagram, Tik Tok, YouTube shorts, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, whatever other ones are out there that I'm forgetting Facebook. Those clips lead to more engagement. I hear people say you can't grow Your podcast using social media, you can I 100%. Know that you can I improve this podcast is proof of that. So don't listen. Number four, start an email newsletter that brings your community closer, I love to use ConvertKit, which helps me send out emails to my community. This is not an ad for ConvertKit you can use MailChimp, which is something free to use. I just like ConvertKit because I think it looks better, it's easier to navigate in the back end share something related to what you talked about on your podcast, just simply start the conversation flowing. And that will over time grow and it will build upon itself, you'll find that you don't have to compete with an algorithm. And you'll find that emails can be one of the most effective tools to grow your podcast. And that's because you're not fighting with all of the other distractions that come along with social media. That's going to cut through the confusion more distraction more, and you're going to reach your audience in the way that you want to reach your audience. Those are four podcasting growth tips that will help you grow your show, no matter what kind of show you have. Let's just recap them really quick. Number one is optimizing your show notes. Number two is writing great episode titles. Number three is repurposing your podcast content for social media. At number four is starting an email newsletter.
