Dylan Schmidt:

Don't look at everybody who's not listening, look at and focus on taking great care of the ones who are listening, the ones who are showing up. This is the show for creative entrepreneurs who have a message to share and want to live a life of freedom. Learn how to grow your network, and net worth, hear from exciting guests, and more. My name is Dylan Schmidt, and welcome to Digital Podcaster. You can't podcast without this as much as I talk about podcasting. And as much as I love all of the growth hacks, and all of the marketing strategies and fun clips that we can create on social media. All the ways to monetize like, there are so many things to talk about when it comes to podcasting. One thing that I'll admit that I don't talk about enough, the listeners, you can't podcast without your listeners. And really, at the end of the day, if you can remain empathetic, and focused on providing the best listener experience possible for your audience, you will win at podcasting. There's people that podcast for different reasons. I'm not talking to the people that are podcasting for themselves, or have zero plans for an audience. That's, I think, just a different approach to podcasting, which I don't know that you would jive with Digital Podcaster that much because I'm all about growth and all of these things, you can't grow without the audience, you can't grow without the human connection. You can't fake any of that stuff. So when it comes to podcasting, if you put your focus on the listener, and I'm talking like, genuine, whoever is actually there listening, I'm not talking about the theoretical listener, I'm not talking about creating some ideal listener, there's such little focus of that idea inside Podcasting Academy. But if you because that changes, as soon as you have a listener for your podcast, you focus on that listener, you don't focus on who else is going to be listening to the podcast, simply just focus on that person. If you're making your podcast for one person, awesome, one can turn to two, two can turn to five, and so on. But I think it's really common for podcasters to just have such grand visions, that they look too far ahead. They don't look at what's right in front of them, which most of the time is just a few listeners to start with. And if you can take such great care of your listeners, those listeners are going to want to share that with other people use this podcast is an example of that. Digital Podcaster is community based. I'm not talking to theoretically, people that don't listen to the podcast, I'm only talking to you, because you're listening to the podcast, the more I focused when it comes on social media, and this podcast on just the one to one connection, the more everything's grown, and I don't have any theoretical, it's like, it's feels very reality based in my approach to podcasting. When someone messages me on Instagram, and they tell me that they are enjoying the podcast, they've binged it all that stuff. For one, I'm just like, cool. What about it? Do you enjoy so I can learn more? And give them more of that? Because it's like a chef, right? Someone comes into your restaurant, and they're like, oh, my gosh, I love your food. Oh, awesome. Which dish do you like? And then you start hearing all these people like the same dish, and you're like, Whoa, maybe we should do something more with that, right? Same with the podcast, right? The more people communicate to you that they like a certain thing, doesn't mean you have to only given that thing. But that's important for you to know as a host. Sometimes it's crazy to think that Digital Podcaster is already on its way to cross over 15,000 followers on Tiktok and Instagram, I try my best to post engaging short form content there that gives you bite sized tips so that you can incorporate things in your show and provide a better listening experience for your audience. Just go to tick tock or Instagram and search Digital Podcaster. And I will see you there. And I know that the more present I am with the people that are in front of me, the more everything will grow. And I don't really need to worry about having millions of listeners, I don't even know what theoretical number could be out there. I'm just grateful for the people that listen and I really encourage other podcasters to do the same. Don't look at everybody who's not listening. Just look at and focus on taking great care of the ones who are listening, the ones who are showing up regardless of if you feel not qualified to talk on the topic. People are still listening despite all of that. That's really cool. So take great care of them. That's all I got for this week. I hope that helps in some way. And I will see you next episode.
