This is the show for creative entrepreneurs who have a message to share and want to live a life of freedom. Learn how to grow your network and net worth. Hear from exciting guests and more. My name is Dylan Schmidt, and welcome to Digital Podcaster. Let's get you more podcast rating and reviews I want you to take action this week. I want you to implement what I'm gonna share. When it comes to podcast rating and reviews, I'm not gonna talk about whether or not, you know, those are dire to your show's success. Spoiler alert. I don't think that they are, but I do think that they help your show. They help with trust. It's social. If you came across a podcast that talked about a subject you were looking for and it had a thousand reviews, generally speaking, good reviews, and then you came up across a podcast that had two reviews, which one are you gonna trust? Probably the one with a thousand reviews, right? So they help build trust and a listener might be more inclined to listen to your podcast so here's how you're gonna get more ratings and reviews this week. you're gonna ask for them, and you might be thinking, well, how do I ask for them? And what do I say? I'm gonna give you all that here, stick with me. So you're gonna ask for them. the easiest, best way, this is like a life principle to get what you want, is to ask. You can't get what you don't ask for. Right. So when it comes to ratings and reviews, I want you to ask people to leave a rating and review for your episode, but it's not enough to just ask. You have to provide a direct link. here's what that would look like, and this has worked for me many times with Digital podcaster every about three or so episodes of the podcast. I include a little thing that just says, if you enjoy the podcast, Please leave a rating and review and, the link, right rate this podcast.com/ Dylan and if you go there, blah, blah, blah. If you've listened to Digital Podcaster more than once and you're enjoying the episodes, you've probably noticed that I don't have ads where I try and sell you something. The reason for that is because I'm just simply trying to share tools and strategies that will help you become a better Podcaster if you're a repeat listener. All I ask is that you help the show by taking. 30 seconds and leaving a quick rating and review@ratethispodcast.com slash Dylan. It really only takes 30 seconds, helps the show out, and it would mean the world to me. All you have to do is go to rate this podcast.com/ Dylan, D Y L A N. Thank you so much for listening and taking a quick moment to do that. Let's dive back in. I do this in Instagram stories. We're gonna talk about where you're gonna ask this in just a sec, but . Here's how you're gonna ask. You're gonna say, it's been an absolute honor hosting this podcast. I hope you've gotten a lot of value out of it. I make it for you, the listener. If you have ever enjoyed a single. Of this podcast, please do me a favor and click this link to leave a rating review on your preferred Podcasting listening platform. That's basically it. So Let's just break this down real quick so you know why and how you're doing this. So, one, you are making it personal to them, like, Hey, I really enjoy doing this for you two, you are giving them a direct ask if you've enjoyed this episode, which is not a big ask, by the way. Like if they've enjoyed one click this link. That's very important that you provide the link. People will totally skip that part and be like, I asked, but no one did it. It's because they don't know how to do it. It is confusing as all to figure out how to leave a review for your podcast. As someone who works in Podcasting, when I go to Apple Podcast, the app on my phone, it can be confusing to find. There's a tool I'm gonna share with you to make this so much simpler. The tool I like is called Rate This Podcast. If you wanna see an example of this, if you haven't already., this is what I would recommend doing is go to ratethispodcast.com to sign up for your own link. This is not an ad. I have no affiliation with them whatsoever. I've never spoken with the people I pay for the service. So you can check out ratethispodcast.com. And then the easiest way to know how it works, is to go to rate this podcast.com/ Dylan. You can see what the process looks like, and you can see why I like this tool so much. The easier you can make it, the more likely you are to get reviews for your podcast and a tool like Rate This Podcast makes it really simple. So, my homework for you is twofold. One, get a tool like Rate This Podcast and check out mine. Because you don't wanna give them the wrong instructions. And then two this week, choose a platform where you already have an audience. I'm not talking size. One or two people is awesome, and that's good enough to work with, but choose where you already communicate with people. whether that's Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, wherever let's make it outside of your podcast. Let's use social media. Let's use an email newsletter. If you have that. Let's use a Facebook post, if that's whatever it is. LinkedIn, wherever. And I would love to hear about your results. You gotta give it about like a week though, right? To, populate and so yeah, so share your results with me whether it's through a comment or a direct message on social media, I'd love to hear what the results were for you by doing that, and we can improve on that. But yeah, share with me and, uh, and we'll go from there. That's your homework. I will catch you in the next episode.
