Another prompt idea here around writing and refining episode scripts would be write a script for a five minute introduction for a podcast about technology. This is the show for creative entrepreneurs who have a message to share and want to live a life of freedom. Learn how to grow your network, and net worth, hear from exciting guests, and more. My name is Dylan Schmidt, and welcome to Digital Podcaster. In this episode, I'm going to be sharing, it's actually be a part of a three part series we're going to be doing about chat GBT and AI and ways that you can utilize AI to make your podcast better. Because I know a lot of people when it comes to making their podcasts, they are under helped. They don't have the resources maybe to hire a production team, maybe they don't even know how to manage a production team. And so the idea of getting help with your podcast community be a little intimidating or just a little bit completely unknown in the beginning, the goal of the next three Friday episodes are going to be me breaking down the three phases of podcasting in the pre production, recording, like production, and then the post production. And then how you can use chat GPT and AI to make your life easier and make your podcast better. One thing you might have attended a chat GPT for podcasts workshop I did in January, if you did awesome, this will be a little bit different than what I shared there. Because this is going to be with current, you know, knowledge around AI and how it's evolved a little bit. And then also just getting feedback after that workshop of how people use chat UBT for their podcast. So I'll be incorporating that in these episodes. And I was going to make it just one episode where I just shared ways you could utilize this. But it just seemed like it would be almost too much information in just one podcast episode. So I'm going to spread it out. Over three, I think that's the smarter way to do that. If I'm learning anything as I make more and more content with Digital Podcaster. And my other accounts in companies is that sometimes less is more around information and how you package information is important for people's understanding of what it is that you're you know, trying to get across. If you try and cram too much into a video or a Podcast, episode, Instagram, post a tick tock video, then you lose people. So this is me learning that less is more sometimes. So today, a couple things that I want to get out of the way. First, is one, it's not a replacement for humans. So everything I share here is not like a cut, copy and paste. Your life is easy. This is a get a famous podcast overnight thing, no, there's still work involved. But you can use an AI tool like chat TPT as an assistant, again, to make your life easier. And to get help that you probably need. Even if you don't want to admit it with your podcast. And then two, I've been using AI tools. You might have heard me say this before, but I've been using AI tools for a while. It's actually how I came up with the name Digital Podcaster. It's funny because a lot of people were like, Oh, that's a great name. That's it. Like, if you've been doing it for years, like Digital Podcaster itself is relatively new, only since June 2021. Before that, I was just like, you know, not making content publicly, I was just helping other people make content behind the scenes. So AI tools have played a role in me creating a business. And I've been using them in different ways over the last couple of years. And I'm not going to like go down that rabbit hole in this episode on how I've used them. But they're not necessarily new. But the future, in my opinion is like it's going to it's going to get better it's going to evolve. But cuz I look at what I saw five years ago, and then I see today, and then I see where I think it's gonna go, it's gonna be really exciting. But again, especially with podcasts, it can't replace you talking to the microphone. Or if you want it to replace you talking to the microphone. I'm not the guy for you, because I just wanted to, again, help you save time, and help you essentially get better behind the mic instead of spending your energy on things that aren't going to help grow your podcast or make you more comfortable or set you up to win. So when it comes to the pre production phase of podcasting, that's things like brainstorming ideas, that's things like creating outlines and structure for your episodes. That could even be things like naming an episode title, if you want to do that before you even record that could even mean like maybe your podcast and when I did the chat GPT podcast workshop and I do a new podcast workshop every month. It's the first week of every month. It's free. So you can go to podcast where shop.com If you want to join the current or next one, when I did that chatty Beauty Workshop, I made like a whole podcast from scratch. I didn't do slides, I just, I was like, You know what? This will be way more fun if I could just show share by example. And so I made a whole podcast from scratch. And the idea was making a podcast about AI. And it wasn't a real podcast. I think people got confused by that. It wasn't real. But the name that Chad GPT gave me was the neural net workers, which I still love that name, by the way, that tool chat GPT named the podcast for me, which is really cool. The name of this podcast is was named by AI. I chose the name it wasn't like it told me Dylan choose this name. I had to choose the name. But it still helped me get the ball rolling there. So when it comes to, again, Episode, ideas, topics, generating outlines, rough writing and refining episodes, scripts, and I'm also going to share some prompts with you. Because the goal is to empower you to use set up for your podcast in a human way. And then you can also come prepared with generating questions for interviews, if you interview guests. You could also use it to just kind of refine your show structure, and then scripts as well like promotional ad reads. And I'll share with you some prompts here on what this kind of would look like that what you would type it into chat GBT. So let's say you were brainstorming episode ideas and topics. There's a you know, a rabbit hole of making the right vehicle prompts what you input into chat JpT, what you prompt it to give you a response on when it comes to brainstorming episode ideas and topics, you could keep it we'll keep it high level for the sake of this podcast. But you know, you can make it more detailed as it pertains to your exact situation your exact podcast like, the more information you give it, probably the better. But when it comes to episode ideas and topics, you could say generate five episode ideas that focus on blank and that blank would be your episode or your podcast theme. So if you had a podcast about entrepreneurship, you could say, generate five episode ideas that focus on entrepreneurship. Or if it was more specific, like women in entrepreneurship, you could say, generate five episode ideas that focus on women and entrepreneurship, and then see what it gives you and then we'll go from there. And then you could just choose one of those episode ideas, and then move on to the next thing. Another thing you could ask it is to come up with 10 potential topics for a 10 part podcast series on a specific theme. So say you were talking about women in entrepreneurship, you could say, and I would talk to it like this, I have a podcast about women in entrepreneurship helped me come up with the first season overview and include topics and subtopics I could dive into. And each episode is going to be around 30 minutes long. And then give it that and see what it spits back. And then before you know it, you start getting the ball rolling. And again, it's not supposed to be like a replacement. Like you don't have to do it. It says the goal here is to like have something to bounce ideas off of when it comes to generating outlines and structure. So a little bit more granular here. I want to use time. So if you know about how long you want your podcast episodes to be. That's important to include. So you could say create a rough outline for a 30 minute episode on a specific topic. And instead of actually saying specific topic, you would say the episode idea or topic that like you got in that last step. And if you did this all in one chat on chat, GBT, it would start looking back earlier at what you said. So it started like giving you better and better responses. Another example prompt of what you could say, for outline and structure for an episode would be generate a structure for a two part episode that includes interviews, narration and sound bites, then it starts to give you like more cues on your run of show, right? Like how your show is going to flow, which is huge. Another prompt idea here around writing and refining episode scripts would be write a script for a five minute introduction for a podcast about technology. And it might give you like, just junk at first or super generic. That's okay, it starter like it's easier to use the momentum of what it gave you and then fix and tweak and build on that then just like start from scratch, sometimes. Sometimes you just start from scratch and that's what you got to do. You don't want to have to rely on this tool so much so that you're incapable of coming up with ideas. That's not the goal here. The goal is to use it. Is it like a tea Remember, in a way, but not the team member that's running your business so much, or your podcast that you like, can't function without it. Another prompt could be refine a draft scrip script for a 15 minute podcast episode that's about personal finance. Or another way to do that would be, if you already had a script that you had in mind, you could say refine a draft script for a 15 minute podcast episode about this. And then you would paste in after this, you would paste in your starter draft script. Another thing, because there's a lot of things you could be doing with this. And then again, just fill you with ideas. The goal is not to do all of these, the goal is just to get your brain spinning on like, alright, I can see how I could use this in my next episode. Another idea would be like researching and summarizing relevant information for each podcast episode you do. So you could say, research and summarize the latest developments in a specific field for a upcoming podcast episode, or provide a brief overview of a person or event that we'll be discussing in a podcast, an upcoming podcast episode. So say I had an upcoming podcast episode about the history of podcasts. And I want to talk about the very first podcast and say there was a person that I wanted to highlight about that. I could use GPT to be my research assistant there. And I wouldn't rely only on that I would use it again as a starter. But then I would take that information and then fact check it, use Google things like that and do the make sure that if I'm, there's any thing that I need to verify, right? Even though I tried to pack as much value as I can inside the short podcast episodes, the reality is, sometimes it only takes 20 seconds or less to get the message across. That's why I'm posting quick bite sized helpful tips and strategies just for podcasters. Every week on Instagram and Tiktok. My usernames there are just like the podcast is at Digital Podcaster. Follow Digital Podcaster. And learn specific beginner tips as well as more advanced automation techniques. And everything in between. When you follow me at Digital Podcaster make sure to send me a quick DM saying Hi, I'd love to meet you. Thank you. And let's dive back into the episode. And then another thing that this is one of my favorite ideas here. So generating questions for interviews and guest speakers, you could ask it to generate a list of 10 questions to ask a guest on a podcast about blank your topic, or create five thought provoking questions for a panel discussion on a blank. What I particularly love about the generating questions for interviews and guest speakers, is if you have your bio ahead of time for all the guests that you're having on, say you were having on Mark Cuban, I'm just throwing out an example here doesn't matter who it is. But say you're having on Mark Cuban, you could if we'll chat should be tea would already have information probably about Mark Cuban, because he's like a celebrity. But you could say generate a list of 10 questions to ask on my upcoming podcast interview with Mark Cuban about these things. And it's like specific topics that pertain to your podcast. So that'd be cool. But if you didn't have someone like a celebrity on your podcast, say it was like me, Chad UBT only has information up till 2021. So they don't got information on me because I started my online stuff in 2021. I scrubbed my information before 2021. So yeah, so but if you had my bio, you could say generate a list of 10 questions to ask my upcoming guests, Dylan Schmidt, who is blank, and then you could put my bio in there. Period, I want to ask him questions around this topic of blank entrepreneurship, whatever. And then it would use the bio you gave it, and then take that information, and then make unique questions based around it. If you already have questions again, great, that's awesome. But it just helped like a brainstorm tool or research assistant. And that's how I would do the pre production phase, using chat GPT to help you make your podcast better. I hope that helped. I hope that got the wheels turning a little bit. It feels important to me to share this with you because this tool. Yeah, it's being like talked about a lot right now. But a lot of people have strong opinions on it. A lot of people see it as like, content, steroids or something. And I don't know I don't see it that way I see it. It's just like, you're a human. And you can get help. Like we all need help to do what we're doing here. Whether it's a podcast, whether it's everything. We all need help. And if you can get help with chat GBT well then like, just getting like a rough starter. It's awesome. In the next two episodes, like I mentioned He's going to be talking about recording the production of your podcast. And then we'll talk about post production, which is things like marketing monetization even. So I hope you'll join me for those next two episodes. If you didn't know, I feel like I never mentioned this on the podcast, but I release new episodes every Tuesday and Friday, Tuesday is a quick five minute episode. Fridays are about around 15 minutes, but sometimes a bit longer if it needs to be. And my whole goal is just to make you a better podcaster and around 20 minutes a week. And I know that there's no cost for listening, but your investment is your time. And I take that very seriously. So I want to make it worth your while. And sometimes that means editing out fluff. So I'll keep that short. And I hope you'll join me in the next two Friday episodes. I hope you join me in every episode, but hopefully the next two episodes as we continue on Fridays for this chat UBT special little training. I'll talk to you soon
