Meaning, like, they don't have to sign up"},{"startTime":58.03,"endTime":61.63,"body":"for it, but I might want to use something, and then I'll say what"},{"startTime":61.63,"endTime":65.31,"body":"tool I used. And usually people are just like, what the heck?"},{"startTime":65.31,"endTime":68.965,"body":"Like, how are you subscribed to all of these things? You know, you wanna get a little fancy. You might get electric"},{"startTime":194.36,"endTime":198.12,"body":"screwdriver. Cool. That's gonna seem like a big step up. You're gonna want gonna get into weird situations where, like, you need"},{"startTime":205.72,"endTime":209.205,"body":"a specific tool for a specific job that, you know, I might"},{"startTime":209.205,"endTime":212.325,"body":"need a couple times or a few times a month, but you would need, like,"},{"startTime":212.325,"endTime":215.045,"body":"one time a year. I am going to be buying a house. Do I share that"},{"startTime":267.225,"endTime":271.005,"body":"process with the world? You know, I'm going through some emotional"},{"startTime":271.065,"endTime":274.425,"body":"stuff. It could be going through stuff like with my business. You know? My philosophy on it is I decided to share"},{"startTime":278.185,"endTime":281.73,"body":"with the world with what I will take responsibility for."},{"startTime":281.73,"endTime":285.57,"body":"And I'll take responsibility for everything in my own life, a % on board"},{"startTime":285.57,"endTime":289.25,"body":"with that. And there comes, like, some responsibility when you share stuff"},{"startTime":293.01,"endTime":296.764,"body":"with the world to either continue sharing it or close"},{"startTime":296.764,"endTime":300.205,"body":"a loop on that. Right? Like, if I was sharing with you some"},{"startTime":300.205,"endTime":303.965,"body":"personal turmoil I might have been going through, it's kind of, to me,"},{"startTime":303.965,"endTime":307.59,"body":"like, my responsibility to keep you informed on that"},{"startTime":307.669,"endTime":310.47,"body":"to an end. I'm not going through personal turmoil. I'm just using that as an"},{"startTime":310.47,"endTime":314.15,"body":"example. But, like, if I was like, oh my gosh. It allows me to show up the best for you"},{"startTime":366.98,"endTime":370.82,"body":"because I'm not like, I gotta have to expose myself every"},{"startTime":370.82,"endTime":374.12,"body":"single week, week after week. And it allows me to compartmentalize"},{"startTime":374.5,"endTime":377.775,"body":"my whole relationship with creating content on these platforms,"},{"startTime":378.315,"endTime":381.915,"body":"have some boundaries around my personal life, and it"},{"startTime":381.915,"endTime":385.755,"body":"allows me to recharge. Like, that's one of my big, probably not even"},{"startTime":385.755,"endTime":389.34,"body":"secrets, but something I don't say enough or at all really, is that"},{"startTime":389.419,"endTime":392.94,"body":"that's one of the ways I don't burn out is because I have boundaries around"},{"startTime":392.94,"endTime":396.699,"body":"my personal life. I don't have some, like, crazy personal life or anything."},{"startTime":396.699,"endTime":400.479,"body":"Right? I feel like my life is pretty, plain in some ways. It's exciting,"},{"startTime":400.54,"endTime":404.385,"body":"but, like, there's not anything crazy happening behind the scenes."},{"startTime":404.465,"endTime":408.225,"body":"And that's intentional, and I like it how it's set up. They could also take that same philosophical approach, not to"},{"startTime":422.949,"endTime":426.55,"body":"mention, EA or whatever who just had a meltdown on"},{"startTime":426.55,"endTime":430.095,"body":"x, Twitter, whatever. But I'm just reminded of, like, it's an"},{"startTime":430.095,"endTime":433.775,"body":"adult approach to creating content in this day and age."},{"startTime":433.775,"endTime":437.535,"body":"Take responsibility. Words have power. Treat your relationship with what"},{"startTime":437.535,"endTime":440.335,"body":"you put out into the world just like you would as if you were with"},{"startTime":440.335,"endTime":443.9,"body":"other people in real life. And I think you start to have a"},{"startTime":443.9,"endTime":447.66,"body":"really healthy approach, and it becomes really clear what you should and shouldn't share"},{"startTime":447.66,"endTime":451.02,"body":"with the world. Next is how do you stay up to date on everything without"},{"startTime":451.02,"endTime":454.86,"body":"getting overwhelmed? This one also speaks to kind of like the burnout thing."},{"startTime":454.86,"endTime":458.485,"body":"Right? There's information flying by every day of the week. Sometimes it can"},{"startTime":458.485,"endTime":462.165,"body":"feel really overwhelming. I don't wanna downplay that part. Just a couple weeks"},{"startTime":462.165,"endTime":465.765,"body":"ago, I had sent out a newsletter. It just felt like social media, just like,"},{"startTime":465.765,"endTime":469.465,"body":"what is going on? There's all these platforms. It seems like you got your podcast, you got your emails,"},{"startTime":477.43,"endTime":481.19,"body":"AI is just disrupting everything. Everything is in motion. No. I don't know what you're talking about. Like, tell me. And that felt kinda overwhelming, but I also make it a"},{"startTime":600.235,"endTime":603.995,"body":"point to take good care of myself. It matters a ton if you are"},{"startTime":658.665,"endTime":662.13,"body":"selling something that is directly tied to your"},{"startTime":662.13,"endTime":665.67,"body":"reason for being on social media. If you are selling a very"},{"startTime":665.73,"endTime":669.49,"body":"specific product or service, it's probably important that you"},{"startTime":669.49,"endTime":673.33,"body":"are targeting a certain niche when you're making content. There's a"},{"startTime":673.33,"endTime":677.075,"body":"ton of freedom within that vision that you create"},{"startTime":677.375,"endTime":680.575,"body":"when you're thinking about, okay, what can I make content about? Now there's a problem, though, and I'll"},{"startTime":724.91,"endTime":728.43,"body":"use the analogy of a fitness trainer. A lot of people become fitness trainers because"},{"startTime":728.43,"endTime":731.555,"body":"they like working out. They think about, okay. What do I do a lot? I"},{"startTime":731.555,"endTime":734.435,"body":"go to the gym. So they're like, I could become a fitness trainer because I"},{"startTime":734.435,"endTime":738.115,"body":"enjoy it. And then they have trouble marketing themselves like everybody else, but"},{"startTime":738.115,"endTime":741.81,"body":"they thought it should have been easier because they really enjoy working out. Same"},{"startTime":741.81,"endTime":745.35,"body":"thing happens with creators who want to create content"},{"startTime":745.49,"endTime":749.25,"body":"about creating content, like myself. And I share this as, like, a a personal"},{"startTime":749.25,"endTime":752.71,"body":"example of the stuff I've dealt with in the, like, kind of niche"},{"startTime":752.93,"endTime":756.775,"body":"mattering and creating content. It feels very meta, not the company. It feels"},{"startTime":756.775,"endTime":760.215,"body":"very meta talking about creating content while I'm creating"},{"startTime":760.215,"endTime":763.835,"body":"content. And it's a highly competitive topic because there's"},{"startTime":763.975,"endTime":767.495,"body":"a lot of creators who are like, I like creating content. I don't know what"},{"startTime":767.495,"endTime":770.68,"body":"to talk about, so I'll talk about creating content. And so for a while, I"},{"startTime":770.68,"endTime":773.4,"body":"was battling with it because I'm like, I don't know. It feels too meta. Why"},{"startTime":773.4,"endTime":776.84,"body":"can't I talk about something else? Because it's actually really easy for me to come"},{"startTime":776.84,"endTime":780.38,"body":"up with all these other ideas, whether it is around fitness content"},{"startTime":780.84,"endTime":784.68,"body":"or self improvement content, all these other things. It's, like, so much easier"},{"startTime":784.68,"endTime":788.435,"body":"for me to talk about for other people. And it is easy for me to"},{"startTime":788.435,"endTime":791.875,"body":"talk about creating content, but it's meta. Like, why can't I why can't I be,"},{"startTime":791.875,"endTime":795.154,"body":"like, a self improvement guy or something? You know? And you might be listening to"},{"startTime":795.154,"endTime":798.98,"body":"me say this and say, but it seems actually really simple to talk about, you"},{"startTime":798.98,"endTime":802.66,"body":"know, talking about creating content because you just talk about creating content. Most people, if you"},{"startTime":806.5,"endTime":810.1,"body":"were to ask them, have a hard time being boxed in to talk about"},{"startTime":810.1,"endTime":813.855,"body":"one subject. So that's why I had said, if the reason for you creating content"},{"startTime":813.855,"endTime":817.615,"body":"is directly tied to a product or service, it's in your best interest"},{"startTime":817.615,"endTime":821.375,"body":"because when you create content, it will naturally be tied to the product"},{"startTime":821.375,"endTime":825.134,"body":"or service you're selling. Like, if I was to talk about baseball stuff, but I"},{"startTime":825.134,"endTime":828.79,"body":"sell content creation services, there's no natural tie in.
