Dr. Dennis Hall discusses the devastating assault on Israel by the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. He describes the Gaza Strip where 2 million Palestinians live. Israel is then described in stark contrast to the living conditions of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The reasons that Israel is considered the Holy Land by Muslims, Jews, and Christians is explored. If you are a God-believing follower of Jesus Christ, Dr. Hall outlines the reasons that you should care about the nation of Israel. He focuses on the covenant that the prophet Abraham had with God. In this covenant, God promised to give to Abraham and his people the whole land of Canaan, modern-day Israel. Dr. Hall states that it was God who formed the nation of Israel. He briefly reviews the history of the Jewish people from Old Testament days to contemporary times. Dr. Hall closes the podcast by pointing to the apostle Paul’s words in Romans 11:13-18. Paul pointed out that God wants his chosen people, the Jews to become jealous of the salvation made available to Gentiles. In other words, beyond just caring for and about the Jewish people, believers in Jesus Christ are called to provoke the Jewish people to godly jealousy. This is a responsibility that the Gentile believers carry, one that has been entrusted to them by God.
