Resolutions

Dennis Hall Season 3

Ordained minister Dr. Dennis Hall and his special guest Libby Malcolm, a resident of Paris, France, begin this podcast discussing Christianity in France. The discussion then takes a turn toward the practice of celebrating New Year's Day with New Year’s resolutions. Referring to survey research, it is pointed out that those under the age of 30 make more New Year’s resolutions than any other age group. Survey research also outlines the top New Year’s resolutions and reveals that resolutions typically last less than four months. Dr. Hall then compares New Year’s resolutions with the Christian faith concept of repentance. The discussion then focuses on why it is so hard to repent from things that is displeasing to God. Will God continue to forgive you if you commit the same sin over and over again? This question is addressed at length in the podcast. The podcast concludes with the admonition, “Don’t let pride, fear, or temporary pleasures of sin keep you from experiencing the blessings of repentance.
