A New Year

Ordained minister, Dr. Dennis Hall, examines the New Years Day holiday pointing out that it had its roots in pagan rituals that began 4000 years ago. He takes a lighthearted look at some of the contemporary ways that New Years Day is celebrated in America and around the world. Dr. Hall analyzes what is behind the making of New Year resolutions. It is pointed out the new beginnings are a recurring theme in the Scripture. People around the world celebrate New Year because it offers a sense of hope and renewal. Christians know that a new start can begin at any time and that it is not dictated by the calendar. Dr. Hall stresses that most important thing that we can do in the New Year is to resolve to let go of the past, putting sin and shortcomings behind and walking hand-in-hand with Jesus.
