Welcome to episode 2 of the Jack Hamlin-Morell Murphy series. In Episode 1 we discussed how this event came to be and we met our 2 veterans: Morell Murphy, an Irish sailor whose ship was sunk by a sub off Cherbourg and Jack Hamlin, a Coast Guardsman who came to his rescue. In this episode we discuss the events surrounding the sinking of the SS Leopoldville, HMS Cappell and HMS Affleck and give our reactions on each gentleman’s observations of the traumatic events.
